I recently ordered a Caitlin Clark Stanley from Dick's Sporting Goods and got a big box with stuffed paper and the Stanley jug I ordered of Caitlin Clark in it. The Caitlin Clark jug was not in a box, just wrapped in paper. I was looking forward to unveiling it but was just in question whether the Stanley jug was new or used. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The store is very organized. We went straight to shoes, and they have a huge selection of them. I really like how a customer can scan the shoe and select the zines and color they wish to try on instead of chasing down an associate. Came in after having dinner at the nearby Maggiano's Little Italy (highly recommend by the way). We were looking for some goodies we could bring home to our kiddos. This Dick's location was ok. Not the greatest but not bad either. I find Dick's regular prices to be high unless I find clearance items. This visit, I managed to find 2 pairs of girl's Jordan leggings on clearance for $12.95 each and a mini (over the door) Rockets basketball hoop for $15 (not on clearance and I know there was a Nerf one on Amazon for $7, sigh.) Doyle in the bike department is nothing short of amazing! New to Houston and looking for a bike, he took the time to help me find the best size bike for my frame, and advised based on my preferences. Because of the limited inventory that day, I ended up buying a bike from a different dicks location the next day. When I brought it home I noticed the wheel was squeaking so, I took it to this location (impressed with how detailed Doyle was), and Doyle looked it over and made adjustments to it. He explained features on the bike and helped me to feel confident with my new bike. In a time when customer service is so hard to find, I just want Doyle to be acknowledged for his level of pride in his knowledge of bikes, his attention to detail, and excellent customer service! This particular Dick's Sporting Goods location was having an off night if you ask me; normally when I visit Dick's Sporting Goods they have a plethora of staff to help with "All your sporting needs" - this is their mantra, well not this location. Came in on a Saturday evening for two items (gym lock and a particular pair of socks) and it took 30 minutes with less than five (5) customers in the store; I know this because I walked past all five customers in the store multiple times while looking for an employee. Twenty of those minutes 30 minutes were spent looking for someone to help me out! Once I did find someone "Yasmine" did a great job helping me (so 5 [five] stars for her)! However, for there to be no one seen working in this store for twenty minutes is unacceptable! Surprised this store is still in business after its liberal CEO banned guns in all of their stores. Attempted to return a broken soccer goal my son received for his birthday and was offered $2 without a receipt for an item that was $35. Asked to speak with a manager and this back and forth lasted 20 minutes. Finally got a hold of the person who bought the gift to receive the order number and was able to exchange the broken soccer goal. Luckily for Dicks my son and a security guard was present otherwise I would have been cussing out those Dicks. The store is kept pretty clean, it can be hard at times to find your size because the items seem to sell out pretty quickly and then never replenished in stock. I frequent this place with my guy as he typically gets work out clothes and sporting items from here. I like the sales that happen at the store but again you can miss out on items as the sizes that are typical will sale out pretty fast. read more

Professional, knowledgeable, helpful and goes beyond to give great information and customer service. Dicks is a great store for woman men and children all there brands are great and when you can visit the store at the right time of the year you get amazing deals overwhelming actually! They have a great selection for Nike totally in love with the vibrations of it all. Came here to Dicks, but everything was picked over for his age group. The selection is very minimal for soccer cleats toddler size 11 and 12 and many soccer balls were deflated. this place has a large selection of all sporting equipment. they have all brand and styles. however, you will pay a little more. everything is very expensive compared to other competitors. i got the exact same shoes they were selling next door at DSW for $35 cheaper. im also not a big fan of how you exit the building. if you walk in to browse and decide not to purchase anything, you have to make your way through a long line of people waiting to check out. you have to say "excuse me. not buying anything. just leaving the store" to let people know you aren't trying to cut in line in front of them. i assume this have this for a loss prevention type of thing, but it's so inconvenient for customers. read more

I was looking for a particular running shoe. They had it on display. So I wanted to find out if my size was available and if I could try it on. First, I had to wait what felt like forever to find a sales clerk in the shoe department. The person was not very friendly. The shoe was supposedly available so the clerk went to look for it. That took quite a while. When the person finally reappeared from the back she was chatting with a co-worker. As if I was not waiting for the product. I've recently been making purchases here and been earning rewards & points. I decided to use the points on a purchase, along with more of my own money. After getting home, I saw a newer version of the item being offered on the website, but it was not available at the store. I purchased the newer version online & returned the unused item to the store to be told that I would only receive partial credit refund & I would not be receiving the reward credits to be used on a different purchase, I would just lose my rewards. This is a terrible policy and I will not be returning here. I'm also surprised that they don't even carry the most current inventory in store, you have to order it. The staff pays you zero attention. At least speak when you see a customer walk in. I waited at a dressing room door for over 10 minutes while everyone just went around staying in their reserved "section". That's usually a breaking point for me and i usually just walk out of stores that don't acknowledge people, but I desperately needed some leggings for work. Buyer beware do not use the online ordering. They will hold the total amount of your order for charges. Which I understand I online shop all the time. But never have I experienced where they then charge you again as each item is shipped. So you charging twice for the order because to the consumer NONE of the funds are available. Staff at this store is extremely unhelpful and easily irritated when asking them for assistance in locating items. I specifically came in to look for some things I found on their website, and had 3 separate people tell me that what's in the store is what they have, making no attempt to look it up or ask another employee for me. Getting someone to open a fitting room for you is a 5-10 minute ordeal as only certain employees carry keys. I ended up leaving a basket full of items on a shelf and just walking out. read more

My husband and I went here to get two pairs of tennis shoes and left empty handed. We found the shoes we wanted and stood 2 feet from 2 workers staring at them. After a minute, one looked up (they were just standing there whispering to each other and playing on their personal cell phones), and he scanned the shoes we wanted and said he would go get them. He came back with only one pair though and said they were out of the other (but didn't the scanner just tell him it was in there?). Then he disappeared and my husband noticed the shoes he was brought were not only scuffed, but the lace was shredded at the end. We kept waiting for anyone to walk by to get us another one and finally just left. We went down to Dicks in Pearland and got much better service. You should definitely have the Pearland guys train yours, they could use it. read more

Only 2 checkout registers were open but 1 was having a problem and the customer was waiting for a manager to fix whatever problem they were having. They opened a 3rd register for me but then the computer froze up and the inexperienced cashier couldn't even log out to start over. Avoid, especially for shoes or anything requiring staff assistance. The store is pathetically understaffed. I went at 2pm on a Friday to grab youth baseball cleats in two sizes. There wasn't anyone on the floor in shoes. I walked from one end of the store to the other - no one in sight. I eventually went up to the front where there were numerous cashiers (minimal line). A cashier said she'd page someone (no one showed after 10 min). Found one employee on the floor, but he was in the gun dept and couldn't leave. Eventually found someone in shoes. He scanned the two styles I'd pulled, and his device showed they had the requested size in at least one of the shoes. He came back quite a while later and said they had neither shoe in either size.
