I've shopped at this location maybe 8-10 times. We've always had mediocre to good service, but the last two times have been unsatisfactory. A few days ago all my sale items would not ring up at the sale price at the register. The cashier said they would ring up automatically, but they obviously didn't. She was less than courteous and sat there rolling her eyes and seemed to blame me for their problem. It's not my fault their stuff doesn't work! Upon trying to correct the prices (after her associate walked all over the store to verify I was correct) she rang up an item twice and I had to correct her again. When I left there was no 'sorry for the trouble', no 'have a nice day' or even a nod. Just a blank stare and not a word. I was not impressed. Today I went to return two of the five items and I was told that I couldn't receive a full refund of WHAT I PAID for the items because I used a frequent shopper $10 reward certificate. They shorted me about $4. Four bucks isn't a big deal in my life, but that's some crappy service if you ask me. I could understand if my purchase was less than $10, but it was for $132. My wife just told me that last month she used another $10 reward certificate to buy my daughter a pair of shoes. She ended up having to exchange the new unworn shoes for the identical shoe in a different size. She was asked to pay $5 to make the exchange! WHAT?!? This is how they treat their loyal customers? I guess our family won't have to worry about the frequent shopper reward certificates any more, because Dick's has turned out to be aptly named as far as I'm concerned. I'm done with them. read more

Never in my life have I been treated so poorly at a store. I went in ready to buy two pairs of shoes to train for my marathon in and patiently waited around in shoes for twenty mins before finally going to find someone to help me. I tried on two pair walked away with one pair. Walked around the store looking at clothes asked a random employee, leaning on a clothes rack talking with another employee, about their shoe return policy and she got very annoyed and asked why I was asking her about it and not someone in the shoe department. I explained that I was just curious if she knew. She promptly rolled her eyes and asked someone over her mic about it and came back with we don't have one. Alrighty then. I walked away and asked some other group of employees random sitting around on clothes racks if I could get a fitting room and all of them looked at me as if I was insane for asking for one. NO customer service. This place is run by young kids who don't know how to work. The kid who 'worked' in the shoe dept actually dropped the measuring device on the floor in front of my child, then kicked it over in her general direction. He offered NO help with measuring or fitting or even finding socks. We struggled with the knotted laces, trying to figure out sizing on our own, then I came to my senses and walked out. This Dick's in Gilbert at San Tan mall is not maintaining their health measures to prevent the spread of Covid. One staff member was walking around the store with no mask and only put his mask on when a customer approached him. Several other customers were in the store without masks. Maricopa county still has a mandatory mask policy -duh. They are not cleaning dressing rooms between customers well. The whole store is like a super spreader Covid 19 event. I ordered a pair of soccer cleats for my daughter for Christmas in mid-December. When the order arrived, I found that they had shipped me one shoe. I called customer service, and they said they would ship me a new pair by the fastest method. When they got done, the rep said, "Ok. They will be there on the 29th." It was still a week before Christmas, and the shoes were in stock, so I asked why the "fastest method" would take until the 29th. The answer was basically, "that's the way it is." So I asked to speak with a manager. That manager disconnected from me during our chat session. I started a new chat and talked to a different supervisor, and after about 20 minutes of back-and-forth, she agreed to give me a $10 discount on the new order (after I explained that I now had to buy a used pair of cleats for my daughter's game the day after Christmas), but it still wouldn't be here until the 29th. On the 21st, the replacement shoes showed up. I was thrilled until I opened the box and found two different shoes. The correct shoe was the same side as the one they shipped me earlier, so I couldn't even make a pair out of the three shoes they sent me. Back on the chat with customer service. After a pointless conversation, I asked to speak with a manager, and he said all they could do was ship me a new pair. He said, "I assure you this will not happen again." I asked him if he was going to put the shoes in the box himself. He said, "No, I cannot do that," so I said, "then how can you assure me the problem won't happen again? After all, there is another pair of mismatched shoes out there somewhere." His response, "Our warehouse team would not let it happen." I see, just like they didn't let it happen the first two times. Out of desperation, I called the customer service number and asked to speak with a manager. I explained the situation (I was admittedly upset by now), but the manager very gruffly told me all she could do was give me a refund so I could order new shoes. I explained that my confidence in ordering these same shoes was very low and asked if because of my experience she could give me a discount on a different set of shoes that were more expense. Nope. Not even to save a customer? Nope. I then asked to speak with her manager, and she said she didn't have a manager. I asked her if she was the CEO of Dick's, and she said, "No, you can't talk to the CEO of Dick's." I just said I thought it was interesting that she didn't have a manager. She said something like, "I do, but you have to talk to me." I took my refund and hung up. I have always had horrible luck finding shoes in stock at Dick's retail stores, so I was hoping online would be better. Clearly not. Their customer service people are quick to tell you all the things they can't do, and the things they apparently can do are not all that helpful. So much for accountability. I purchased t ball pants for my kids before Covid and did not try to return them until recently because this is non essential. They are sticking to their 60 day return policy and it took me going to the store three time and calling/email customer service about three times to in oder to be told they will not return them. There is a disconnect between corporate customer service and the store. They wasted my time and I am out $50 dollars for pants my kids will no longer use. read more

My sister and I are new to kayaking. We went into the store and the sales men were incredible. The first gentlemen that helped us was new to the company and immediately got another gentlemen to answer questions. They both helped us as we sat in the kayak and asked every question under the sun. I am thrilled with the customer service we received at Dicks. We returned shortly after with a truck and they carried and loaded it for us. I highly recommend this company based solely on the customer service. My only regret is that I cannot remember the names of the two men that were so kind. I had the worst customer service Experience at the register. The cashier was fixing the hydro flask wall and saw my wife and I walk up and didn't come over to begin our check out for a good minute. When the cashier came over, she did not make eye contact nor did she greet me for a good 2 mins. She just started began ringing up my items. Then, one of the shirts we grabbed did not come up as the sign stated on the table. The cashier had a horrible attitude after I informed her about the discrepancy. She then called for someone to check. That person stated it was for the shorts not the shirt. I told her I didn't want the shirt because it wasn't the price I thought. Only reason I was willing to buy it. I asked her to take it off. When she did, she threw it off to the side like it was such an inconvenience to take it off. During the transaction, we used a coupon and a $10 for being a scorecard member. Since all was already scanned, we asked if the $10 will still be applied. She responded back with an attitude saying yes your $10 will be there but you can't use the coupon. I then asked her if it was almost time for her to go home. She replied, with an unnecessary tone, "Yea. Well we close in 20 mins, Sooooo!" I stated " I bet you can't wait" she then stated " yeah well I've been up since yesterday morning sooooo" I then told her she did not have to have an attitude. She then rudely replied, with an attitude, " I don't have an attitude". After my transaction, I walked away and asked another associate for the manager. Jeremy came over and I asked him what's the cashiers name? The one with no lanyard or name badge on. He told me her name is Amanda. When Jeremy came over I explained everything to him. He was apologetic and he stated he would definitely address the issue. If the cashier was so tired and irritated she should have not been at work. I came there because I needed a calf sleeve. If I didn't need it I would have not come in there to shop. The cashier definitely needs to be trained on how to give good customer service. read more

I came with my fiancé to buy 2 kayaks or a paddle boat. Not a single employee to help. Then as we're leaving someone finally asks if we need help. Lmao....the guy says "if I knew anything about kayaks I would help you." Seriously? Didn't even offer to find someone that could answer our questions or help us with a $500 sale. Unorganized, messy arrangements of clothes everywhere, no associates on the sales floors to assist customers. $40 for a t-shirt is absurd when there aren't many in store sales. Kid at the cashier register never greeted me and acted like I was a burden because I wanted to use a coupon. No thank you or anything. Just handed me my bag and I was out the door. I came in looking to buy a new driver. The new models all just came out and I had cash in hand. Couldn't find anyone in the golf department. After about 20 min a young kid comes out from the back and doesn't say anything to me. So I finally ask him about a certain driver and he shows me it. And doesn't tell me anything about it. I went to my local dicks sporting goods to return the club as instructed, but there I was told that once I hit the ball I cannot return the club. So I wasted all my time for nothing. The store is huge, has a whole lot of everything but even more of nothing. What I mean is you'll most likely find close to what you're looking for, but it won't be the exact item or the right size. The best example of this is their shoe wall. We get it, you have a back room handshake with Nike. Dick's loves Nike! But for the love of good would it kill you to not have the entire back wall of a Wal-Mart sized store covered in Nike footwear that's way over priced and most likely you don't have any sizes left?! Variety in a store is a good thing. Lastly the employees are decent, usually helpful, but most are teenagers so they're just doing their 8 to the gate and punching out. read more

I am so disappointed with the in store customer service. I am heading back east this week and was in need of a warm jacket (from PHX) I looked online and saw one that I wanted. I checked the local store, and it said it was in stock. I know how those things can work, so I called just to make sure. The gentleman on the phone was so nice, and he checked for me, and also put the item on hold. Fast forward to a day later. I went in to pick up my item. When I walked in, 4 employees were all standing together at the first register. They just looked at me like I had walked into somewhere I was not welcome. No smiles, no greetings, nothing. I had to initiate the conversation, and all I got was a "hi". A store employee finally turned and walked to my side of the counter. I let him know I was picking up an item that was on hold. He opened the "on hold bin" and dug though it looking for mine. All the items were just thrown in there. If something was fragile, it would be in rough shape. He held up a few items that were not mine until he found mine. He then through it on the counter in front of me, and turned his back to go to the other side of the register. No "is there anything else you need" or "if you are ready to make a purchase, please step over here". Nothing. By the time I made my way over to the open register, he was helping someone else. I had a coupon on my phone, and with my not so great cell service it would not load. You could see that it was a coupon by the email subject line though. The cashier just kept saying "well I need to see it". I asked if there was any override she could do...usually a store knows which coupons are out and valid. I also asked to see a manager, and she responded with "He would just need to see the coupon as well". Didn't even try to get someone. I am not saying that you need to roll out the red carpet, but when someone is spending over $100 (or any price for that matter) just some nice customer service would be appreciated. read more

I purchased a treadmill from Dick's Sporting Goods on January 7th. I paid the additional $120 for delivery and set up. I was given a Delivery and Assembly Guide that stated that Select Express & Logistics! would be contacting me within 48 hours to set up a delivery time and the treadmill would be delivered within 5 days after the deliver date was arranged. I never heard from Select Express & Logistics! I called Select on January 9th to arrange a delivery date and was told the person that handles the deliveries makes their own appointments... I never heard from that person. On January 11th I called Dick's Sporting Goods and told them of my situation. They made a call and told me someone from Select would be calling me that day. I told the person from Dick's Sporting that if someone did not contact me that day to schedule the delivery I would cancel my order. Someone DID call and told me that someone else would be calling me back before the end of the day to arrange for the delivery. No one called. On January 12th I went back to the store and cancelled my order. Everyone I dealt with at the store was nice. It is unfortunate that Dick's Sporting Goods is loosing business because the company they have chosen for their deliveries is so un reliable. I loved the treadmill and would have loved to have it but I am not going to be left hanging because of such a poor delivery company. read more

I'd give one star, but I love sports an just can't! For a sports superstore I expect a lot more. Definitely over priced, which I don't mind paying for Top-of-the-line items. But there selection and quality I mediocre, your better off going somewhere else. The mall has better clothing items for sports players. Dick's is absolutely huge... it's like a Costco for sporting goods! they are open late, so I am always able to find the last minute items my kids spring on me the night before a game. Whenever I've needed anything athletic, I have always had lots of help from a friendly staff. But... when in comes to the outdoor stuff for camping, hunting etc. I can't get any help at all. I noticed that they carried archery supplies and I have been there three times now looking for various archery supplies and I've never been able to see a single soul in that department! last time I was there, they only had two bows hanging on the wall. It's kind of a shame since they have a test range and everything. For athletics, I would easily give them a 5-star rating... but for outdoor supplies, I would give them a no-star ratting. So, to be fair, I am averaging the two ratings for a solid 3-stars. read more

In April I went to Dicks to buy some Golf Clubs, they were busy as usual in the golf dept but I understood and waited around to get some golf shoes. I search and search for shoes but could not find my size and was never offered any service, the two clerks had finished with their customers and were doing pricing on various displays and they never looked at me to see if I was finding everything ok. I had to approach them for help and they seemed upset that I took them away from their duties at the time. I usually get good service from Dicks but not that day, I needed up spending over $500 on shoes and clubs that had to be custom fitted. What is most frustrating is I also went on their website to rate the service as they asked me to and I mentioned the customer service wasn't very attentive to me and was never contacted by a District Manager or Rep, seems like they didn't care read more

Living up to their name this store is staffed by useless dicks. Don't you dare interrupt employee social hour to inquire on anything, they pretty much can't be bothered. There was a huge check out line with one cashier. She was so unhappy you'd think someone kicked her dog. There were 2 employees standing by the check out lanes chatting - when I asked for assistance in the department I was in I was waved off and told there was 1 or 2 people at a neighboring department and to go find them. Once I got there those 2 chatty Cathys were also no help. On the way out I saw the 2 Cathys had roped in a third and they were standing around ignoring all customers, not even bothering to look up for a "hello". This place must be the best place to work...stand around and get paid and not be bothered by customer service?!? Sign me up!! read more
