Been to this location many times. This time was much different. The store was in total disarray. Shoe department had no price tags. Everything was completely out of order. The staff was of no help at all. The baseball section has had there simulator broken for 6 months plus. This area was a compete train wreck. You cannot find anything. Was trying to buy a headband that was on sale unfortunately when I brought it to register the sale price didn't show. Guy at golf register was rude and unapologetic about the mispriced item in system. Only $5 difference between item price but the lack of effort made me not want to purchase anything. read more

They are so poorly stafted in this department. I was able to freely walk behind the counter and handle the rifles (still locked). I did this hoping someone would see me on there ONE camera, and come to say "do you need help?" it was not until a had to ask a stock employee for help. this person was reclusive and didn't want to help, he would not look at me and tend to toss around the box he was dealing with. He was flustered and disconnected. When someone finally came out, he was combative more "what are you don't here" They say archery support, but they range they have is closed. Both ranges have racks of inventory stacked in them. I will never go back to Dicks, High cost is OK if you provide support. Horrible customer service and the store manager was very rude. We needed to have a warranty on our driver for golf and it has a dent from a powerful drive. The store manager accuses me of hitting the driver on the ground. And if you are a golfer , golf clubs to us are like diamonds. I will never go in there and I hope that this experience shows the true colors of this establishment. Long story short. I brought a pair of water shoes & never wore them. The sales associate said that since they looked worn on the bottom that they cannot be returned at this location and to try to return them back at the Dublin location (because I have all the time in the world to drive out there). The shoes literally look like people wore them around the store, but never purchased them. So now I lose my money although I have the receipt because they were this way when I had bought them 2 days ago. They have the worst customer service. I would not recommend this store to anyone. My friend bought me a $400 basketball hoop as a house warming gift. Unfortunately we checked the HOA and it has a policy against putting up basketball hoops. It took us a lot of effort to fit everything into our car and went back to the Store to return it. But we were greeted with the worst customer service. Long story short, this one lady first asked if we had the original receipt, we said yes. She then asked if we had all the original parts and the packaging, we said yes. Then after a bit of talking to someone on a speaker, she called her manager over. The manager finally gave us a excuse why they can't refund it, and the reason was that because it's unboxed, it's considered used and that used items can not be returned. Changing my 2 star to a 1...wishing I could give them zero stars! This company is complete garbage. Do not waste your time or money. Bought a shotgun from here and was told it shot 3 1/2 inch shells. I get it home only to find out it can shoot 2 3/4 - 3 inch. Go to take it back and they and corporate basically told me tough. Drove from Walnut Creek to purchase a basketball hoop in stock at the Dublin store. I was greeted, assisted, & checked on while waiting to clarify discrepancy on pricing. At the end the of the purchase experience, the crew established why this is the branch to go to if you want to be treated right by applying appropriate business ethic practice in honoring mislabeled pricing efficiently. At least 3 staff members jumped in to help out and ensure that the issue was resolved. While I was loading the item on the truck, a staff who was on break even came by to check on me and my son to say hello. This is my one and only experience with any Dick Sporting Goods location. Also I have never ordered from their website so I was a new customer. My nephew's birthday is around the corner and while talking to my sister about gift ideas she had mentioned this shoe that he really wanted. When I searched for the show online it brought up several places where I could get the shoe. Having just heard a commercial for Dicks Sporting Goods I decided to give them a try. I then decided since I would be seeing him tomorrow I would go to the store location and I wanted to call ahead to see if they had the shoe in stock. I call the store the line is busy. *15 minutes later* I call the store and get Daniel and let him know the shoe I'm looking for and he places me on hold. After awhile the phone rings back to him and I let him know that I'm still waiting on the stock check. He says oh they didn't pick up for you? What was the shoe you were looking for again? I tell him the shoe and he says I'll check on it right now and places me on hold. Sometime later the phone rings back again and someone whose name I didn't catch asks how he can help me. I explain that Daniel was doing a stock check for me and that I was still waiting on that. He puts me on hold. *I begin to think maybe I should have just gone in straight away.* Daniel come back to the phone to let me know that the shoe is in stock in both sizes and gives the available colors. He also apologizes for the wait and I thank him. Now let me say here I get that phone customers are a little different than the customers who are actually standing in your face and there's a different sense of urgency it seems because of that. No judgments though! The location is near my job and I'm not eager to go into work on a beautiful Saturday so I decide to pop over and pick up the shoes. I was able to find the location easily enough and parking was easy. I was surprised by how big the store was, but when I walked in I was able to locate the shoe section and made my way to it. I go up and down the aisles of the shoe section which is not entirely big and can't really find what I'm looking for. I admit I'm lost. I don't spend a lot of times in the men's section of shoe store or in sporting goods stores at all. Clearly I look like I don't belong, but I see no one that looks like they work here aside from 1 guy who is already helping a family out. I think I found the shoe I open the box it looks like maybe but I'm not sure. It sure would be nice to be able to ask someone but there is no one to ask.. oh wait I see a guy, but alas he is with someone and I don't want to be the person to interrupt, and they were just walking through to another section of the store. A woman then comes up to the first associate and she looks important she is carrying a clipboard after all and she tells him she needs to see him when he's done. She walks away as I try to approach her shoe in hand. It is at this point where I start gophering.. You know standing on my tip toes to look over the isles for anyone that can help me. I pull out my phone and look up and picture of the shoe so I can walk up and down the aisles like a gumshoe detective (pun intended). I see the shoe on display but not the corresponding box of shoes so I can grab and go. I decide to wait around for the 1 guy. I'm there long enough to learn that he played football in high school, the position he played, the fact he still plays with his friends, what his height and weight is, that he doesn't like high-tops, that he was homeschooled his junior year, and that he went to De La Salle. I learned about his coach and where he went on to. I also learned that the family is from Sacramento and the boy trying on the shoe goes to Elk Grove High. Though the guy who was with them lives out here in the bay area. After more football talk and the realization that I had been there for over 20 minutes I put down the $175 shoe down and left. If they don't want my money, I'm not going to force it on them. The family's customer service experience sounded lovely.. mine, not so much. read more

This is the most disorganized store I've shopped at for shoes. I would expect this from a store like ROSS. Nothing is where it's supposed to be like women's mixed with men's, wrong shoes in boxes, wrong sizes in marked boxes. Crazy! Ok so I am excited to be the first reviewer for Dick's, I don't have too many of those in my repertoire so I will try to make it an efficient one! First off, can we all laugh and take a moment at the "strategic location" of Dick's being in the same parking lot as BJ's?? Someone had some fun with this shopping center for sure!! Alright so onto my shopping experience today. Heard on the Channel 2 news this AM that the grand opening of Dick's was today @ 9am, and apparently there is a grand opening weekend of sorts too from the sound of the newscast. I went after my lunch hour about 1:30pm and I was curious to see what kind of crowds this place drew...it was NOTHING like the Livermore Outlets grand opening, that's for sure. Pulled up and parked with ease, phew. Big NOW OPEN signs adorned both the Store & Pro Shop entrances. Exciting! There was a greeter welcoming us on the Store Entrance side (no one at the Pro Shop side.) The pro shop I will say (as someone who is NOT a golfer,) looked like a golfer's dream. SO MUCH GOLFING STUFF. but for me? yaaawwwn. But if golf is your thing, I would think you might be able to do some damage in here, it was quite the extensive offering. Onto the store. Men's on the left side of the store, women's on the right. I was instantly drawn to the Nike Women's Clothing area as I love their running gear. Lots and lots of cleanly, well-stocked shelves with vibrant clothing to choose from. Everything was at retail price though which was eh. They did have a ton of running accessories here though which was very cool. My co-worker made a bee line for the gun section as his main mission was to get ammo for his handgun. Alas, this store is only selling shotguns, therefore only shotgun shells will be sold here. That was very annoying, frustrating, and lame to him. Personally, if there's a demand for handgun ammo, they should carry it; shotguns aren't the only guns on the market, so why not provide for the customer? Anyway, walked around the WHOLE STORE and they sure do have a ton of stuff to buy. An aisle for ping pong, an aisle for badminton, and I could keep on about this. They are seriously stocked with aaallll sporting goods!! HUGE wall of flip flops (helloooooo summer!!) as well as lots of water, running, hiking, tennis, etc. shoes to choose from. Overall, the customer service was very friendly and no lines when going to purchase your goods. I can see myself stopping in here if I ever have sporting good needs. I meant to check out the boxing section as I do need some gloves for my MMA class, but was already on my way out. If it was possible to give this place no stars I would but I guess the selection makes up for the laziness and stupidity of the employees and management of this facility. I am dumbfound by the ignorance that reflects on the entire company! WHY OFFER CREDIT CARDS IF YOU CAN'T EVEN MAKE PURCHASES WITH THEM? My husband opened a line of credit with DICK's 3 weeks ago and the card was never received. Come to find out that the card was sent to an old address even after my husband politely corrected them of our new address. The cashier today whom needs to take a couple lessons in customer service had the nerve to tell us that sometimes they use a different address for a bigger discount.... And then had the balls to tell us that he and the management are unable to charge to the account unless the card is present. This is pretty freaking stupid! We can't charge to a card we opened in store with our social security numbers and proper identification nor do we have access to a card that was sent to the wrong address. And your only advise is to call the 800# and ask why they sent it to the wrong place.... Does not make any sense at all! Dick's makes Macy's and Best Buy look like Nordstrom. Dick's stop DICKING around and correctly train your management so that they might train their staff properly. read more

Wow, talk about an experience. For the most part, the sales associates were very nice and polite. However, I came in to get some workout gear with my 5 year old daughter and their loss prevention staff must of had a field day with us. I had to try some things on and of course, im not going to leave my daughter outside so she came in with me and when I was finished and opened the door, this older guy was standing right at the door as though he was listening to me and my daughter talking because I startled him when the door opened and he started looking around looking real dumb. And no he wasn't passing by, he was standing there like a creep. I went looking for some shoes and other stuff because I was just shopping trying to enjoy my day and they followed me over there. This was my very first time at this location and probably my last. I was so upset I sat outside for a few minutes to gather my thoughts before hitting the freeway and then here comes one of the LP officers parked 2 stalls from me. We made eye contact but I guess he figured he didn't want to blow his cover but i already knew who he was. Im like come on yall. Let people shop in peace. If im doing something suspicious then ok I understand do your job but damn, I did nothing just hanging with my baby girl. Unbelievable, not everyone is a thief. I think Dick's is the best chain sports store around and it would be a shame to see it go. Does this store have employees who might not be well trained on their products? yes, but it is a low wage job. I don't expect this at a retail store. In a world where everything is moving to e-commerce, I enjoy the fact that I can go here and make a purchase for a sports item. My two stars is for the customer service I received. I called the store to ask if they had an item available. One person answered and asked me twice what I was looking for, then put me on hold for a good 3 minutes. I thought she was looking up the item, however, she transferred me to another representative. That second person proceeded and asked me again what I was looking for, and I told him. He automatically says, "Oh, I have never heard of that. We don't have it here." Decided to check the store out the same day just to see what they had. Turns out they had the EXACT item that I was looking for. I bought some basketball and cross fit shoes here for my kids and the pricing is slightly lower than the other big store but Dick has a better selection. read more

I read the reviews and braced myself because I didn't want to drive very far. Boy was I surprised when I received some of the best customer service EVER. About one minute after entering Maurice--aka Mo--asked me if he could help me. Why yes and I told him what I was looking for. A minute later someone came out with my item and a minute after that Maurice came back to ask if I had my item. Checking out was great and the woman who took care of me was friendly and helpful. Maurice then came back and insisted on carrying out my large, bulky purchase. Just to be clear--I am an overweight middle-aged woman and I went to Dick's after working out--just in case someone thinks I was being helped for reasons :) other than just plain old good customer service. Came here twice looking for help with fishing, archery, and gun equipment. Spent an hour walking around each time we went in, and immediately noticed that no one greeted us upon entering the store, acknowledged us on the sales floor, or offered any help - even though it was obvious we were looking for something. At the registers, we inquired about getting help in the gun/archery departments, but were told to "Just go look for anyone who is wearing cammo. That means they work here." Yeah...this will be our last time here. As a new retailer, you'd think they'd ramp up on their customer service. Big fail. read more

Extremely poor staffing. Every time I have been during the week (I don't go on weekends) there is one cashier and a long line. Today was typical. The one cashier was having trouble with her customer checking out. Because I was in line for a while I got to listen to the whole thing. The customer was a bit difficult in that she changed her mind after her card was swiped, but the cashier was defensive and downright rude to her in return. Also, the cashier didn't call for back up until the line was 5 deep, and after another cashier appeared to help, that cashier ended up helping the first cashier instead of any of the 5 customers in line! Not coming back. Sports Authority in Dublin or Sports Chalet in Pleasanton from now on. It's a shame, too, because these guys are closest to me. read more

Horrible customer service, severely limited selection in women's training gloves. Rude cashiers. I'm just confused by this store.

The only good things about this place is that it's conveniently located and they have a good sized collection. Their customer service is not stellar but the one day I dashed in to pick up some ammunition, not only was their customer service lacking (as it usually is), but one of the check out girls was actually really RUDE. My boyfriend is really into shooting, and there is currently a really high demand for ammunition at the moment. He had bought some in the morning when the store opened, and since I sometimes go shooting with him too, I decided I would quickly stop in before work to pick up some for myself too (they limit an amount per customer because of demand). I got to the gun section (I was also in a huge hurry because I had to be at work in 15 minutes!), but the guy working there was talking to some dude looking at binoculars or scopes. I stood there for a good 4 minutes, just looking at him but he did not even ADDRESS ME! Didn't even say "give me one moment" or "I'll be with you in a second". Completely ignored me! Then when I got to the checkout, the girl said "wow, he already came in this morning, does he really need more?" I assumed she was referring to my boyfriend, but I was EXTREMELY INSULTED. She had no way of knowing who we were, so she completely just assumed that just because we were both young 20 year old Asians coming in the morning to buy some gun stuff that we were somehow related!!! I am spending my own hard earned money at YOUR store for MY hobbies. This is, by far, the biggest Dick's I've ever seen. To be honest though, I've never tried Dick's before but have always wanted to. The sheer size amazed me. But I survived and was able to walk out in one piece. =P OK, in all seriousness, this place is HUGE. I'm used to Sports Authority and Big 5 and this place blew them out of the water. If you're familiar with Sports Authority, picture it 2x as big and with a gun section. The fan apparel section was pretty large with the local teams (Raiders, 49ers and Sharks) along with some of the local colleges. Alas, there wasn't much for my hometeam (Seahawks) but that's expected. There was a big selection of Nike and Under Armour for both men and women. I found some workout pants on pretty decent sale along with some socks. The entire store was clean, organized and easy to browse. The section that disappointed me was the weight training section as there wasn't a large selection of weights. There were quite a few kettlebells but not a lot of weight plates and bars. Also, the checkout line was insanely undermanned. With about 8 people in line, there was just one checkout clerk manning the 6 or so registers on a WEEKEND AFTERNOON! It's sort of like Fry's...what's the point of all the registers if they aren't going to use them. Since we were just passing by and didn't make the trip here just for Dick's, it wasn't a bad experience. It just wasn't mind blowing or wouldn't justify a trip from my area here just for Dick's. But if you're already here and need something sports related, it's worth a shot. read more

When I used the voice command on my Samsung Galaxy for the route to Dick's Sporting Goods, it spelled it as d***s. I guess Galaxy doesn't like d***s. Anyway, I digress. As far as the store goes, it's new and located in the boondocks of the developing Dublin area. There's basically just flat empty land and yellow hills around there and you can see some track homes in the distance. DIck's has a huge selection of sporting goods for every sport and brand imaginable. The store is quite large and is sectioned off by activity. They have a golf section where you can practice teeing off. There's also a gun section (not that I'm into that), but I know that not every sporting store does. I think their camping section is comparable to some REI's. Lots of mens', womens' and childrens' apparel and shoes. Store is orderly and very clean. Bf picked up a belt for weight lifting and I bought a Nike baseball cap for my pops. We were able to use the promo coupons - $10 off any purchase of $25 or more. Service at checkout was friendly and the line moved quickly. Lots of parking and directly next to a brand new Target. Wouldn't go out of my way to shop there but might stop by if I was passing through town. read more
