I'm doing the Insanity workouts and my running shoes weren't cutting it - I needed a cross trainer shoe. I go on a quiet Friday afternoon. Their shoe dept is huge - but they have only one person working it. I ask someone outside of the department for help - he gets on his little microphone and says someone will be right out to help me. I wait 10 min. The one lady in that section is STILL helping someone else. I go back to the guy and and ask if there is only one person working that department - he says "i guess so". Finally the woman frees up and approaches me. I told her what I'm looking for. She asks me "Well did you look to see what we have?" and I replied "It looks like you have 3 columns of cross trainers surrounded by running shoes". She said "what you see is all we have". I explain to her I have a wide foot. She said "We don't carry wide cross trainers - not even on our website". So I spent 20 minutes in the store to leave empty handed. I took my business to Sports Chalet - great service and they even had a display of reebok cross trainers. Now the people in Dick's were nice - I'm not knocking them - it's just that service was bad and selection was worse. read more

Wow, talk about an experience. For the most part, the sales associates were very nice and polite. However, I came in to get some workout gear with my 5 year old daughter and their loss prevention staff must of had a field day with us. I had to try some things on and of course, im not going to leave my daughter outside so she came in with me and when I was finished and opened the door, this older guy was standing right at the door as though he was listening to me and my daughter talking because I startled him when the door opened and he started looking around looking real dumb. And no he wasn't passing by, he was standing there like a creep. I went looking for some shoes and other stuff because I was just shopping trying to enjoy my day and they followed me over there. This was my very first time at this location and probably my last. I was so upset I sat outside for a few minutes to gather my thoughts before hitting the freeway and then here comes one of the LP officers parked 2 stalls from me. We made eye contact but I guess he figured he didn't want to blow his cover but i already knew who he was. Im like come on yall. Let people shop in peace. If im doing something suspicious then ok I understand do your job but damn, I did nothing just hanging with my baby girl. Unbelievable, not everyone is a thief. Some of us do have jobs and make a decent amount. Thank you to the sales associates for your help, LP officers, work on your craft to be more understanding and not stereotype people. read more

I wanted to come on here and write a review of the store just because I saw the rating is low and want to avoid the location going out of business. I think Dick's is the best chain sports store around and it would be a shame to see it go. Does this store have employees who might not be well trained on their products? yes, but it is a low wage job. I don't expect this at a retail store. In a world where everything is moving to e-commerce, I enjoy the fact that I can go here and make a purchase for a sports item. They carry high quality items, which differentiates them from places like Big 5 or the stores who have now gone out of business (Sport Authority/Sport Mart). read more

The employees at this dicks are rude we walked in and they didn't even say a word. They never said do you need help. Maybe dicks sporting goods should focus on hireing people who are customer friendly instead of athletes in high school or collage only one woman was nice. This place doesn't sell Jordan's stuff. Huge disappointing that I drive all the way here from Fremont and no Jordan's. waste of gas and waste of my time with bad traffic where I can go to Nike store at great mall instead. Price are super expensive than sports authority. Plus Nike stores is way cheaper than dicks sporting goods. This place is supper small than Sports authority which is way bigger more Variety. This place is disorganized. Hard to find restroom. Plus their restroom smelly and dirty. Hope Fremont is better. Maybe Dublin residents will drive there instead where it will drive Dublin out of business read more

This is a big Dick's. Picked up a Speedo and goggles for under $50. I really appreciate the selection of running gear! read more

After my 3rd visit to Dick's, it's disappointing to ask stressed and rude staff members for any help. I tried several representatives and they all pushed me to another person or quickly answered we don't keep sizes in the back. It was their approach and their urgency to push the customer who is right front of them away. read more

This store has THE WORST customer service. I placed an order online for pick up at the Dublin store. Received emails telling me the order was being processed and to wait for a final email to say the item was ready for pick up. Email never came so I called the store and was told to come on in, they would pull my item right off the shelf. When I got there, the store manager could not have been ruder, telling me I should not be there yet, they didn't have time to process my order, etc. I waited 15 minutes and finally they brought up my item. I'll go to Sports Chalet in he future. read more

I went down to purchase shoes for my nephew and couldn't find one I like so I ask someone and quickly said they don't have one but after that he said it's not his dept? So how you know you don't have it if it's not your dept and didn't check the back. I finally found the shoe I want for him but it was very dirty from bottom and top. The employees didn't want to help and seem like they just ignore you or just look at you and just say no after?? read more

Just a big shout to Sylvia and Tom for being so unbelievably fantastic. They went above and beyond for us, when I was looking for two bikes for my teen twins. Well worth the two-hour round trip!!! Amazing service. Thank you! read more

First time in this store and right when we walked in there were two tables full of giants shirts my boyfriend consodered buyinh my mother one for christmas and he looks at the "sale" sign and it reads "was $25/ Now $25!! Umm whats the point of yhat? We laughed pointed it out to the supervisor he pulls the sign and laughs it off like idk if anyone even realized this. If I could give negative stars I would. This store has employees that are sub par. The socks I pictured were clearance and buy one get one free when I got to the register they rang up full price I told the associate that the price was wrong. She radios someone to do a price check and they said they were not on clearance I went back to the section and the person supposedly price checking wasn't even over there. I took the photos as proof to the cashier and she still debated with me. Called a supervisor (same guy we had handed to bogus sale sign to upon entering the store) over he looked at the photos and still disagreed with me. If my son didn't gave his heart set on the two pairs of shoes I was buying him I would have walked out without giving them a dime. Definitely not going back... read more

DICK'S Sporting Goods - Ad that they wouldn't honor and gave me a hard time about - Sporting Goods Near Me - Dublin, California

Horrible customer service, severely limited selection in women's training gloves. Rude cashiers. I'm just confused by this store.

Sixth (6th) visit to this store. Wanted to make a $200 archery purchase. NO ONE was in the section. Called the store on my cell phone, asked that they send someone to the department, and was put on hold. A clerk appeared after 10 minutes with no archery knowledge what so ever. Went to a terminal to start an on-line order. And this was the first sales person I have spoken to in all six visits. What a disappointment. Never ever going back. And this company sponsors Bowl Games? Should be Davey Scatino's Sporting goods store and may Tony Soprano leave with the goods. Waste of time. Multiple wastes of Time. read more

Have you ever called a store to check if they had an item in stock? Then you get an answer like "sure" or "I think". Well this was not the case for Dick's. When I called they actually went to the shelf and looked at what I wanted. As luck would have it they only had one left! Paul (I only asked for his name so I would know who blame when it wasn't there) asked if he could hold it for me...and he actually did! BIG THANKS, I drove all the way from Concord for it. I can't wait till the Concord store opens! read more

This store is ok when you look at the inventory, too bad the personnel is so unprofessional. No communication between departments, instead finger pointing. Just a quote: "Sorry but that would not have happened in my golf department, these tennis boys let things pile up before they start working on it. We won't let you wait for a week like that". I rather have them help me properly. Instead of finger pointing to others. No wonder that what one guy promises, the other guys doesn't know, or "Sorry, I don't know how to do that sir." Or: "The boy can promise you whatever he wants, but I don't see anything here (pointing to receipt) and no one told me anything." No structure: "Where are the order forms? Sorry sir, I can't find the order forms. Do you have a moment?". So that happened every time, not just once. Too many juniors. "I will bring it up with the shop manager.", instead of dealing with it on the spot. Hanging at the shoe department: no one helps. Fitting room that shows red on thedie lock when available (since day one: never fixed). Manager talking down on personnel through the radio in a very negative way. No wonder personnel don't dare to truly help customers when something needs to be fixed. All gift cards or money back or whatever probably goes off their paycheck. I can go on and on with what I have experienced there. Not all people are like that of course, but today Dick's lost a customer never to return again. Untrained personnel. No communication. Finger pointing to other departments. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! PERIOD! (2 stars because of what is in the store, being nice here) read more

Again...unfortunate you have to give any stars. Called in to check availability and spoke to Luis. He mentioned he didn't know and whatever I wanted to needed to check the floor. After asking to speak to someone else he put me on hold...I called back 4 more times and was hung up on each time...just sad as I will stop shopping at my local Dicks as well as a result of this horrendous employee read more

Worse customer service ever. Bought an item and didn't know I couldn't return it. I told the guy at the register that I wasn't told at the time of purchase. Then he said there was a letter "N" next to the item on the receipt. Like I'm supposed to know that. His answer was "oh well". While he was processing my return, he said something and I said "pardon me?" He then said he wasn't talking to me with the worse attitude. Guess that's one of the criteria to being hired there...to be a complete "DICK". Will never shop there again. read more

Have been here a few times. Very clean store. Well ran. There's slats promotional events going on here. Staffs are nice and courteous. Although not very knowledgeable with most sporting equipments. Especially at the gun/ammo counters but hey, at least they're not assholes like most running a gun counter. Big store, well stocked. Not sure if it's just me, but I feel they have a large selection of each type of item they carry, but not a whole wide selection of everything. So best way to put it is, selection is limited, but have a very wide selection of whatever that's available. Gun counter consist of mainly hunting related items and guns. Ammo selection / options are ok. Prices are a OK to little bit high in retail standards. But no so bad. They do have sales and coupons to make it reasonable. Checkout line is nice, fast, and efficient. And again, they are all very nice and polite. My overall experience have mostly been positive here. No complaints. I would buy here instead of sports authority if prices were little cheaper. read more

Came here a month ago or so looking for a support strap for my ITband and was looking in the running section(where I would reasonably assume running support equipment would be), but was told by an employee that they are all in the basketball section and when I showed confusion as to why it's in a completely irrelevant section for running, she shrugged her shoulders and said she didn't understand it either. Went to look for the strap I needed, but couldn't find it and when I asked an employee if they had it, he said he dk what I was talking about and never heard of an IT band support strap and showed me a patella support strap. I ended up getting a new pair of running shorts and some sports bras that were on sale before leaving. read more

Kindness matters. I am not generally a fan of big box stores, but when I flatted on my road bike coming down Fallon and pinch-flatted my spare I found myself in a desperate situation. I went in and they had 2 tubes matching my needs. The gentleman, Jim Prime, building bikes in back let me use his stand and compressor to change my tire. He was personable and helped me work out payment since I did not have my wallet with me. I may not choose this as my every day bike shop, but I will come back for other sporting goods after being shown this kindness. Thanks Jim and good job Dick's! read more

If I could give 10 stars right now, I would! My daughter got a softball bat a month ago at Dick's and it snapped in half this morning. We went in to get a new one, and Eme overheard our conversation with another employee. Eme ended up finishing with another customer and then gave my daughter the best experience possible. Eme noticed we were looking at the wrong size, so took my daughter into the cage and had her swing a bigger size. The bat was out of stock in Dublin, so the manager called several stores for us as my daughter has a tournament tomorrow. No luck finding it, so Eme cleaned up the Demo bat to look brand new and they sold us the bat at a discounted price. Plus they took back the broken bat, even though I did not buy the protection plan like I should have. By the way, Eme was supposed to get off at 8:00, but ended up helping us until 9:00 when the store closed. We walked out with a great bat, with a new grip on it and my daughter is thrilled! Had we not seen Eme, we would have walked in, bought the wrong bat and not exchanged the old one, as I thought we were out of luck. Thank you Eme! read more

Horrible customer service. Bought exercise equipment that had two parts that needed to be a right and left to build. I received two rights making it impossible to build. Norma you run an awful store! Your cashier paged you several time to help me find an item. I waited 30 min for someone to help me. You finally showed up to say "you're looking for a trampoline? DICK'S Sporting Goods - Sporting Goods Near Me - Dublin, California

My sister and I just had the BEST customer service experience in any store, ever. We were looking for a San Jose Sharks' shirt for her daughter and called Dick's Sporting Goods in Dublin from the Big 5 in San Ramon (they didn't have it). We spoke with Manny about the shirt and he put us on hold for about 2 minutes. He returned to tell us all the styles available and we asked him to hold them. As soon as we walked in the store Manny was there with one of Every Single Sharks shirt to show them to us! He and Matt (who helped us check out) made sure we had what we needed and made it so easy. Thanks guys! Good work. read more

I wish I could have had that stellar experience some of these people have mentioned. All the good employees must work during the day! I think they save the kids for working at night. I have no problem with summer students, what I have a problem with is no training in customer service skills. I bought a pair of shoes that was clearly marked on sale. The kid would just parrot the price of the shoes that he scanned - no more, no less. He wasn't going to lift a finger. I went and double checked the sign and went into another line. There are some kids that "get it" and luckily this kid understood what needed to be done and called the manager, got the price adjusted, and was very friendly during the whole transaction. If you are going to employ students give them the proper training and skills to achieve and please vet your employees carefully - some just don't cut it. read more

Came in to purchase some ammunition to go shooting at the range and the older gentleman with brown hair and glasses working the counter was extremely rude and short with me. I stood next to him for a minute before asking if he could help me with a purchase and he rolled his eyes at me and walked behind the counter. I went on to ask him about inventory and he became even more annoyed and rude. Worst employee I've ever seen and not knowledgeable at all. read more

Over the past several months, I've tried to refill my CO2 cannister at least three times, but Dick's has been completely unreliable. The first time, they were out of CO2. The second time, there was only one associate available, and he was busy with a gun sale, so he asked me to come back 30 minutes later. I returned an hour later only to find that they were still busy with the same transaction, so I gave up. The third time, the only qualified associate had called in sick. I give up completely with this store, and will not bother returning. read more

Yesterday, I attempted to order a treadmill online. A 10% promotion code was available to all new subscribers so I requested and received that code. It didn't work. A gentlemen at their call center said they'd had that problem before. He tried to complete the order for me; it didn't work. Today, I tried again. But, the treadmill, price had been raised $1200. That's also $1200 above the mfg's price. The call center supervisor would not honor the price. Lessons: 1) Their systems for completing orders have issues, 2) Their prices are well above MSRP at least in my situation, 3) They showed no interest in getting my 'support your local retailers' business. I will give thumbs up to the two call center agents who helped me. Their supervisor made decisions that I think were in neither of our interests: I was essentially asking for the price I would have received had their systems processed a promotion code correctly yesterday. read more

I stopped shopping Dicks for awhile because of the horrible customer service. They have a nice gun selection and golf selection but getting any sort of smile or help is impossible. Their stance on gun sales is enough for Patriotic Californians to stop shopping there alone. read more

This is a very sad store. There is nothing here that really qualifies as sporting equipment. You can get the things they carry here at any department store or online. Back in the day, a sporting goods store had sporting equipment you couldn't find elsewhere. Dick's sucks. read more

So I've gone to this store a few times to get the occasional sport team shirt and what not. I came in about an hour before close to miss the crowds, so you can imagine it was pretty much dead inside. Everything was fine until I went to check out. I made a comment that I found this on the sale's rack (was looking for a SF Giants shirt). They said on its not on sale and I was like okay well its on the rack there. The Manager made a comment "Oh its not on sale and you know how customer put stuff everywhere" I thought this was really odd coming from a "manager" of the store. Not exactly professional for a customer facing position. I just told him "well it wasn't just one it was a bunch of them hung up on the rack with different sizes" So I was little disappointed at the reaction/answer I received from what I assumed was the manager that night. Either way, I paid the normal price for the shirt cause it wasn't a big deal and isn't detrimental enough for me to not shop here anymore. Overall, they have a good selection of items and their golf side is pretty intensive. Just know that you're gonna have to keep your customer service expectations low - thats all. read more

I wouldn't shop here unless you need something in a pinch. We stopped in for baseball glove, bats, balls, cleats and helmet. Everything is way overpriced. They have $220 bats you can find for half that online. Not much of a selection either. Most items were less on Amazon. Very disappointing price gouging, considering they're one of the only sport stores in the area. read more

This is such a big store, yet I can never find anything here for myself! It's all overpriced and nothing is ever on sale. I received an email coupon this morning for $15 off a purchase of $50 or more. I also had a $10 rewards coupon for spending $350. I decided treat my son to a pair of Nike Elite socks and a few other items. They didn't have his size so I checked the "clearance rack". I spoke with one of the employees and he told me, "These actually aren't on clearance. They are just socks that have been returned and we ran out of Nike tags so we use a clearance tag to mark the price". I went along with that as I wanted to treat my son and the socks did seem like they were not previously worn. I went to the check out counter along with my coupons and the lady said, "these coupons are not good on clearance items". I explained what the other employee told me and she did honor the sale and use of one coupon. However, she said I could not use the email coupon as the other items I purchased were on sale. I read the coupon to her and advised no where does it say cannot be used on sale items. Here only response was that it didn't work in the scanner and made no attempt to offer any other explanation. I asked to see the manager and he was just as rude as the checkout girl. He explained that the coupon does say, "other exclusions may apply". I questioned wouldn't it be easy to say, "NOT VALID ON SALE ITEMS". He said, "no, we want you to come to the store and then we can explain what the other exclusions are." Since this store opened I have purchased clothes, shoes, a bike, water bottles, etc. I left without purchasing anything and from now one will continue to shop at Sports Authority or Sports Chalet. I will be writing to Dicks Corporate office to inquire why they are labeling these popular kids socks with "clearance" tags, putting them in a clearance bin when in fact they are not a clearance prices? Deceptive labeling at it's best. read more

Wow, came in here today because it is new and wanted to check it out, but also because I had a specific need. I came in and wandered around their huge store looking for cycling pants but couldn't find them, NOR could I find a sales person to help me. I went to the front of the store to ask for help and found two salespeople chatting with each other while another customer waited at the register to be helped. I asked one of them to help me. I asked her if she knew if they had cycling pants and she asked me if I checked the floor. I said I had. She told me that they were in the cycling section but I informed her that I didn't know where it was. She pointed to the back and said back there. I asked her if she could show me. And the look on her face was UNACCEPTABLE. She physically sighed and looked disgusted that I'd even asked. She said she didn't have a walkie talkie so she couldn't help me. Finally a young manager came over and she asked the manager if someone could help me because I "NEEDED SOMEONE TO ESCORT ME". She was so unbelievably snotty. The manager did NOT apologize but just told her to find someone. They finally found someone to help me. Where? Towards the front of the store where a large bunch of employees were just hanging out and talking, not giviing a care to help anyone. A young man walked me to the back of the store and kinda explained about what cycling pants to get. He tried to help and gave me some information but all the info he had was very casual and not very knowledgable. I appreciate the somewhat effort. Their changing rooms are few and far between and full of clothes. They are completely disorganized and look like they aren't cleaned all day. I will not be returning to this store. They need to focus on customer service and making sure their sales staff are polite and knowledgable. I've received better customer service at Walmart! Go elsewhere because you won't receive ANY customer support here. read more
