If there were a way to put Zero stars I would have...I was a big Fan of this establishment until today when their staff members including a manager failed to help me with a situation with 4 Of my debit cards and 2 credit cards. Their VeriFone system kept declining me and instead of trying to help process my purchase they stood there, looked at me like they couldn't do anything as if it were my problem and shrugged their shoulders. As a business owner myself, my staff is fully trained in helping out the customer in making sure each transactions are tended to and done smoothly with the full satisfaction of the customer. I proceeded to pay cash for my purchase because I was in need of the cooler for my daughter's bday party and each of my cards had more than enough to cover the transaction. It sucks that sport chalet, Sportsmart & sports authority are no longer in business because this etlstablishment "Dick's Sporting Goods" in Cerritos, my hometown is the worst I've ever been to! Been here three times. First time at this store was on a weekend the first month they were opened and saw clicks of employees walking around but not helping. You have to walk up to an employee if you have a question or they will try to ignore you. Second time I visited the store I tried purchasing a running arm band and I had to walk around the store for twenty minutes as I had a difficult time locating them. I finally bothered someone who explained that the arm bans might be located in the front. They had two choices so I choose the Nike Armband. As I waited in line it was backed up into the men's apparel. Every register had an employee working but only one register was actually taking customers purchases. The other 5 or 6 registers were closed and looked as employees were being trained for the first time in figuring the registers out. I waited about 30 minutes and then got out of line. My third visit I needed to buy shin compressing socks. I did the same as my last visit as I walked around like I was lost in space trying to find something when a couple employees passing by made it clear in body language not to bother them. These employees remind me of how employees at Home Depot walk around and don't know crap or never ask if you need any help finding something no matter how lost you look. I finally stood in line for the cashier and asked if she could call someone to help. The cashier was helpful and did call on her radio for another employee to help me but she got on my nerves a little because she kept saying I needed help looking for pants which wasn't true. I was trying to find compression socks. But finally a Dicks employee who was very sweet showed up at the register then guided me to various compression socks located on in the store. I purchased a set of compression socks but I promise to never come here again as this store takes to long to buy simple shit. Also there prices are higher than a lot of other sport stores so I recommend to check footlocker inside or Big Five outside the mall. I hope this place closes down like Sports Challet and Sports Authority. This sports store has a whole lot of nothing and mostly 2/3levels of junk. I will just continue to buy online or at Big Five. read more

I would say this place is similar to Sports Chalet and Sports Authority but with a better lay out and more variety of products. The prices are about the same and with a bit more selection in terms of styles for products. The workers here are friendly but won't go out of their way to help you so keep that in mind if you really need something. All I can really say is this place is ok. She basically said to me well we don't carry that color , and if ur looking for that just go to the original store which is outside the mall to the left! Thought I could run in and out since I knew exactly what I needed. Didn't happen. Employees looked preoccupied and not interested in greeting or helping customers. So I had to find it myself. When I finally got what I needed and was ready to pay, the line at the entrance was insanely long. So I go to the other cashiers by the mall entrance. Shorter line, but still a 15 minute wait. Only one cashier, but two other employees doing random stuff behind the register. Guys, the most important thing to running a business is getting the money in the register. Don't let customers get frustrated and walk away. We have way too many choices. In the end, it felt a lot like the Sports Authority experience. And we all know how it ended for them. Dick's remained open while shooting a Christmas commercial. The problem was that most of the lights were off. This was a huge inconvenience and liability issue. I had to use the flashlight app on my phone. If you are going to do this you need to have employees strategically stationed at various locations in the store to assist shoppers. There were droves of crew members, but employees were scarce. While standing in line to purchase my items, the cashier had to radio for assistance. When these leads/supervisors finally appeared, they were clearly annoyed about being called. It was a horrible shopping experience. Ironically, if the atmosphere was conducive, I would have been able to complete some of my Christmas shopping. read more

I ordered a set of Titleist AP1 iron during the blackfriday sales and when they arrived they are the demo set, so I tried to exchange them and Dick's will not do an exchange so I have to ship them back for a refund and re-order them. My BF & I come here a lot, never really had problems up until now. We went in to buy one item. Just one. They wouldn't let us purchase it because apparently the workers had put the item out on the rack "too early" that they weren't actually allowed to sell to the customer "before the proper release date." We asked nicely when the release date would be and we waited a full 25 mins while they nonchalantly tried to find the answer. They said they'll contact us and we could come back when it was finally on sale. The cashier didn't even think to take our number as a way to contact us before I personally suggested it. How can we return when we don't know the release date? Luckily for my BF and me, I obviously have more customer service experience (7 years) than this girl cashier did because she seemingly didn't have common sense to even take our number- more so just told us we could come back as a way to get rid of us so she wouldn't have to deal with us customers anymore. Went to purchase a couple of portable tables. Couldn't locate the tables then spent 15 min looking for someone to ask in this gargantuan store. When I found someone he also didn't know and had to find another associate. Then I spent 15 minutes in line as there were only two cashiers. Cashiers were not in a hurry, working at a "leisurely" pace not real excited to be there. This is a really big store with a lot of cool stuff. But most are over priced. I ordered a product online that was promised to be delivered in 6 calendar days. It didn't even ship until after 7 days, and then 5 days after shipping I am still waiting, and they are saying at least another two. They even charge for shipping! To top it off, I contacted their support, and they tried to blame it on the courier, even though Dicks's didn't ship until after the promised date. This company is a joke and a rip off. I went with the intention of purchasing a good pair of tennis shoes, was met by Joe, who likes ice hockey. I asked him if he had these shoes in size 11 and he made a face and said, "Oh, ooh, we don't have many in that size" and came back with the shoes... in size 11. He never came to ask how it was going or anything. I was so disgusted I just left even though they fit. I had no problem spending $150 on shoes for my son last month but we had a totally different experience. I bought three pairs at another shoe store. Great place to go if you like standing in line at the registers. Went 2 times in 2 days with the same thing. If there is more than 2 people in line, expect a minimum of 10 minute wait while cashiers keep reading and re-reading the same computer screen or return receipt. Came in because I needed ammo and they had emailed me $20 off your purchase. Once here they said the coupon could no be used for ammo. Although no where does it say that in the fine print. It does say "some items are excluded, see store for details" ok I get it. Since I was here I bought 400 rounds and tried to buy a ammo can to use my coupon. Saw a sign "Buy one get one free" I saw great I'll take that Ammon can. Bring the items to the counter and they make me go get the sign and the tell me "Oh, that is for another product so we can give you the offer." I tell them but it's mislabeled you should honor it. They call over a manager she says "no the sign is wrong". I tell her ok well this is the last time I buy anything here. Her response was "pffttt ... ok" and then walks away. I went to the store to get my 8 golf club(Iron) grip changed. The golf department employee who was assigned to change my club grip was very inexperienced. He took a very long time...almost 3 hours until someone else came to help him. When they were finally finished, the new grip was not lined up with the shaft and was a overall poor quality job. Store is huge and has a pretty good selection. I called and asked about a specific pair of shorts for my son. Spoke to Lori and she said she would hold it for me. When we went to store about an hour later, we asked for Lori and sure enough she had the shorts, and even showed us similar items that met our needs. What a nightmare this location is. The staff can not get their act together. Joe is rude and belligerent . Placing an online order has taken over 30 mins. I requested a customer service or DM email or phone number and was told it's on the receipt, no it is not. The manager has had to help his staff 6 times now. Two different people helped me at this location, both were extremely rude and not helpful what so ever. The lady on the floor had no clue what she was talking about and acted too busy to help me. So after a long time in here looking for what I needed with NO help, I get to the check out, the lady there was also extremely rude! I asked if she could remove a sensor from my jacket and she acted like it was an incovience to her, she also didn't even take the time to check the other items I bought and now I'm stuck with thermals that cost me 100$ with a sensor left on them and my flight leaves early in the morning. Every single time I come here I can never find anyone to help. I never get greeted & walk through several departments looking for help. Last time I had to go upstairs to look for someone t help me downstairs & he couldn't even help. I find it crazy that such a big name store can't hire enough employees to cover all departments. I placed an order for Garmin Vivosport on Dicks online and paid for overnight shipping. It took me an hour and a half to complete the order. I was given 20% and I paid for overnight shipping. After two business days the watch did not arrive. I called and I was told that it will be shipped on the 25th as it was not in stock. I spoke to the supervisor whose name was Jason w, he said he will remove the shipping that I paid for overnight and offered me a 20%discount for my next purchase. My incident number is 171015-002509. I told Jason I'm not going to shop again at dicks.com and that he should give me 20% off on this purchase. he said he cannot do it at this point as I've not been charged but I can call back after I received the watch and then take the 20% off. The watch never arrived so I called customer service one more time. The representative told me that my watch will be shipped on the 25th. The representative told me that my email was incorrect so I provided her my correct email address and told her to email me my order number. She said she will refund my overnight shipping and email me the order information. I never received her email so I just waited for the order. When the order did not arrive by the 27th, I called and to my dismay I was told that they did not have it in stock and it was never shipped. I spoke to a corporate supervisor who kept trying to explain to me what had happened. I told her I was traveling and I was really planning to use my Watch for hiking and biking. She said she will not be able to send the watch overnight. When I asked her for the additional 20% off that Jason W promised me she told me she cannot do that.
