I used to come here all the time. Once it became Lions deli it went downhill fast. It's dirty inside. If you look in the glass cases where the food is kept theres always water dripping into the food & under the silver trays it is nothing but dirt & what looks like mold. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt but after 3 times ordering a roll with turkey bacon an egg salt pepper & ketchup and getting home to open a sandwich with sliced turkey and actual pork bacon is just crazy. I don't eat pork I wanted the version of bacon made from turkey. They won't refund you. Im officially done with this place read more

Horrendous service. Rude, inconsistent pricing. Unless you're a regular I guess. There's a strange smell in there too.

Outstanding deli the sandwiches and salads are very good family run just a great place to support

This looks like it could be a good deli IF they fixed a few things the place is clean and bright its only a take out place with high counters and narrow walkway cases filled with all sorts of beverages so it has potential super friendly guys working there we ordered normal deli type food honey maple turkey on a roll lettuce and tomato guy was worried because daughter said no mustard , they do not have that regular yellow type only honey, deli and spicy roll sandwich was a bit sparse in the turkey here is the sad part nice looking croissants in the case ordered one the bag felt warm mmm they warmed the croissant? I did not ask for that they should have asked right? YUCK it was soooo stale so it was warm and very stale not edible 15 bucks for the croissant 2 iced teas and the turkey sandwich? too expensive for this sorry will not be back 2 stars because why? the place looks ok read more

The 5 stars Is because of their freshness of their food and more ... the potato , macaroni and cole slaw were all delicious & so fresh ! The chicken wings so tasty and the Italian hero was excellent !!! It was for our sons birthday party and our guests and us could not have been happier with the food !! Thank you also to Joe as it was on a shorter notice due to numbers changing over the covid period as he was so nice as well !!! I highly recommend this deli! read more

I am a long time customer but I am done. They charge you for extras that you ask for but somehow over and over you never get the right order. Please check your orders before you leave because 9 out of 10 will be wrong. read more

Dick's Delicatessen has nice workers but they service poor quality foods in a shopping area with excessive panhandling

Stopped into Dick's on my way to work. Staff were friendly, prices weren't that bad. I ordered a bacon, sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. No complaints with my sandwich, but certainly would call it "gourmet". There was a little left to be desired... Wouldn't say anything really bad though. Worth stopping by for a quick bite. read more

Dick's Delicatessen - Bacon Sausage Cheddar and 2 eggs over medium. Not bad. - Delis Near Me - Commack, New York

Got a chicken cutlet, American cheese, l&t on a sub roll. No mayo. Combined with a ginger ale it came to $13.90. Left and went back to place I'm attending training a mile away. Open bag, unwrap sub and....covered in mayo. Went back got my money back. Place wasn't busy but deli guy wanted to crack wise instead of making sandwich the way I wanted. Sorry, one star. read more

Great breakfast sandwiches, solid value. Nice service and prepared foods are really above par. You get a better more satisfying breakfast here for $5 than at many brunch spots. read more

If i could give this place 0 stars I would. The prices are horrible for the quality of food you get. I order here several times, and everytime the prices are different. SOMEONE TELL ME WHOOOOOO THE FUCK pays 13$ for a Chicken cutlet sandwich. Well this place is horrible even with "new management" they suck and the service is horrible, overall unfriendly vibe. I would wholeheartedly stay away from this place. read more

Called in my order ahead of time. It was ready and waiting when I walked in. Sandwiches were exactly what we asked for! Great job...will definitely go there again! read more

The food was good, I would've given 4-5 stars, don't get me wrong. But please, we are still in the middle of a pandemic. Food being prepared by staff behind the counter with staff less than 6 feet apart and with no face masks. read more

Great deli sandwiches. We usually get the American and Italian heros. Their thanksgiving sandwich is so good too

Nice deli that makes a decent sandwich. Get what you pay for here. Staff is friendly. Previous review about flying the AMERICAN FLAG I don't really get but if that offends you get a BLT in North Korea you douche read more

Over priced ! Order was wrong when arrived. Hardly any meat on their sandwiches. Bagel Basket a much better option read more

I have been coming to dicks deli since I was a little girl the staff behind the counter are super nice and the egg sandwich's are amazing! They have a huge selection of drinks and pastries! I seriously have cravings for the giant cookies and the bacon it's super crispy! read more

Opened my container of chicken salad to find a short black hair directly on top. YUCK.

Owner just wanted to make an extra dollar no me. Beware if the prices I order was 3.99 he charge me 4.99 for the special the special come with ham on the egg all I ask for was just take the ham off that's an extra dollar to take the ham off the owner is hungry for money and does not care about the customer don't go there very very bad customer service read more

This place charges 10.50 for a sandwich on a roll and it's not even good. They should be embarrassed how the place looks as well. Dump

Waited 10 minutes for someone to take my order, or even acknowledge me, with no other customers in the place. 2 staff members looked at me at the counter waiting and just walked past me. Finally walked out. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. read more

I am not a guy that usually writes reviews but this food was so bad i had to write about it. I ordered two chicken sandwiches and took them home. When I tried it, I took one bit and threw them out... the chicken smelled and the bread was stale.. how can you mess up something so simple? My gut instinct told me not to ignore the old and moldy counters... I figured after new owners i would give them a shot but they worse then old owners! Place needs a total upgrade!! Stay away and go somewhere else... sad because the workers were nice... but owner needs to spend money to bring it from 1985 to the new 2021!!! read more

We order from Dick's often, and honestly, so far they make the best egg sandwiches around! They're very polite and sandwiches have always been great! read more

Love the old style delicatessen where the staff where shirt and tie, they know the name of the regulars and they take pride in their homemade salads. read more

12$ for a chicken cutlet sandwich in a roll with barely any meat... that's insane and not very good. I'll pay the 12$ but make it an awesome sandwich. This is mediocre at best read more

The photo of the turkey in their Thanksgiving $179 dinner did not comport with the tray of sliced turkey we received. There was no way to determine how much of the 10 lb turkey was actually delivered because there were no wings or legs present. I wonder if the Deli substituted cooked turkey breasts from nearby North Shore Farms supermarket when they ran out of birds or to save money. I have purchased Thanksgiving dinners in the past, including mail order, and have never had an issue on representation. As an aside the turkey spoiled quickly because it was sliced up and there were no turkey left overs. read more

Where do i even begin. First of all this place is old and gross, it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. Next the staff and i mean EVERY current worker as of 4-1-19 is miserable and has ZERO personality, i mean ZERO. They treat you like you are annoying them. There is some 25 year old tall kid that looks like Lurch from the Adams Family who has this blank stare on his face every time i go in. He's not the only one they are all rude. The hot food, lol they have Ribs every day that are disgusting looking sitting in the glass tray that looks like it hasn't been washed since 1996. The salads all have way too much mao and the sandwiches are wayyyyy overpriced. I have a customer i visit regularly in this shopping center and find myself in here as the client frequents the establishment out of convenience. I hate to bash a place but its not a good deli. There are much better places to go on the area. And one more thing the parking lot is a deathtrap you cant make a left out of there without nearly getting hit by a car. I'd avoid this place. read more

I was in here for a sandwich the other night. Calling it average would be kind, a little Italian hero on a hard roll. Criminy. . . their mac and cheese looked downright scary and I was glad it was behind the glass. . . I don't know about Dick's Delicatessen, but I will say, the evening staffers are easier on the eyes then the daytimers. read more

Would give it 0 stars but I'm not allowed. Dangerous to people with allergies. The people in the back apparently don't understand that when you request a product be made with no onions, that means no onions, not just no extra. The potatoes should not go on a sandwich which says no onions if there are onions in the potato. Just common sense. Apparently this place lacks it, and when the food was brought back, it was remade the same way because no onions apparently doesn't mean no potatoes if there's onions in the potatoes. If you don't understand that I don't know how you're still in business. When I called to let them know they brushed me off. Will not be back and I don't recommend it to anyone else either read more

Just ordered a simple deli sandwich, no meat just cheese for $6 and what a disaster! The roll was old and hard which made it crumple into pieces. My first time experience was wonderful. The sandwich I had was superb. I didn't expect it to be that good. It was beyond your typical deli sandwich, not so much in size, but in composition and flavor. I liked the way that the flavors blended together, and the quality of the ingredients was topnotch. Also, my food was carefully prepared, not rushed and shoved in a bag. I plan to return to try more excellence. read more
