I was hopeful when I saw bagel boss was opening a location in yaphank, but I tried it twice and both times were terrible. It was expensive, rather lackluster food quality, and they got my orders wrong both times whether ordering in person or on the app. I finally came across this place on yelp, which markets mainly as a deli (doesn't even come up on Apple Maps when you search for bagels), but saw another review that highlighted their bagel options. So tried it out. We finally found our morning bagel spot! There's not a huge selection or variety of bagels unless you get there early, but they're all fresh and delicious and they have all the staples. Their deli sandwiches are also amazing, very generous portions for the price and again, everything is fresh and tastes great. Will definitely be coming back regularly to this spot. Don't let the looks outside deceive you, it's a great place!

I have to say this is one of the best delis on the island.I start my day here every morning to gat a Cup of their coffee. Is always fresh and I don't know what brand of coffee it is but is top notch. I get breakfast and lunch here at least three times a week their pancakes are probably better than most diners on the island. Their lunch menu is great it's always changing and they have a wide variety of food. they always have awesome specials and if you like corn chowder stop in on Thursdays. The girls working the counter are always friendly and eager to help you. Even when they're packed with customers they have such a great system you're in an out the most I've ever had to wait was about 10 minutes. Lastly my biggest thing when I go to a place to eat is cleanliness and by far they are one of the cleanest delis I've ever been to. Who says there are no old school LI delis with delicious hot and cold offerings, amazing soups, great specials and a friendly staff? If you want to experience an amazing exception to the rule, get to Back Country Deli. The CLOSEST I ever get in my usual routine is literally 20 miles away and I still try to do the drive there every so often. When I do, I'm always rewarded with a great meal (you can sit down) and specials to take home for another time -- all fairly priced. I recently started working in the area and coming here for lunch. Everything I have tried is DELICIOUS. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I couldnt decide what to order one day and the woman suggested their soups. I told her I had never had soup before (weird I know) and she offered me a sample of their Beef Barley. A good deli with reasonable prices is starting to become rare find in suffolk county. If your looking for good food at a decent price with a friendly staff this deli is definitely worth checking out. Try the breakfast bowl! Eggs,sausage peppers I think they use like 3 different cheeses and its topped with a chipolte sauce! My go to spot for breakfast. The food at the Back Country Deli is outstanding. I have visited many delis in Suffolk county and this is by far one of the best. The food is fresh, the soup are amazing and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.
