Waste of time and money. Spent $67 cash here, and the experience was ridiculous from start to finish. Their card machine was down, so I had to pay cash. Bill came to $67, I handed over a $100 bill, and they handed me back my change ($33) entirely in single $1 bills. A massive stack of ones like they were trying to empty their drawer on me. To top it off, almost every side on the menu was out. Half the menu was unavailable. I ended up paying $18 to $20 for a 2-meat plate that came out practically empty. Portions were laughably small for what they charge. Poorly run, bad management, and zero attention to customer service. Save your money and stomach. This is the first Dickeys we have been to that was horrible. It was $32 for two small sides (beans and overly salted okra), a sweet tea (really water with sweet and low), pulled pork sandwich and a chopped beef sandwich. We still don't know which sandwich was which. It was like mashed up mystery meat. Tried to drown the wonder in BBQ sauce, but no flavor. We both stopped eating when we bit into hard bones. HORRIBLE. Overcharged - menu says make it a plate with 2 sides, and they don't honor that. Upcharged on everything we ordered. Bbq sauce in crock pots that seems like it's been in the same pots all week getting reheated. Daughter went to the restroom and saw multiple dead roaches. Then on the way out noticed lots of dead bugs and roaches in the open counter space between the serving line and the tables. They are open again!! The barbecues was spot on! I had the 3 meat plate with brisket, ribs and kilbasa sausage. It was fresh and hot. The fried okra was out of this world! We met with our community group from church and everyone had a great time. The kitchen manager came out and checked on us and asked how we were doing and if he could get anything for us. Since we've begun our recent across nation travels, Chase Bank had given us so much grief when it comes to paying. They decline every transaction at least twice and flash it as fraud. After 20min in line holding everything up trying to order lunch, Boss man came out and kindly accommodated our issue. I thought I'd try it since it was "under new management ". But NEW is not always better. They told me they were out of turkey and pulled pork so I got brisket only. It's over cooked and dry. It's not cut correctly so it's hard to cut and chew!!! It was soooo salty. I was told they were also out of fried okra, but yet there was some in my bag. However, I ordered green beans and i got none! I got everything in small paperbags as they were out of large plastic bags. ‍. I had to ask for the rolls. Sorry I did that, as they were flat and hard. They obviously didn't let them rise. It look longer than usual to get like 15 minutes longer. I was told by the lady at the windows that "we will have everything next time!" When I'm looking for some fast food bbq , Dickeys is my go to . I love that the location over here by where I stay has a drive in, so for those times when I'm really not feeling my best and look how I feel I can always slide thru the drive thru for some good and fast bbq food . This particular location has some of the friendliest workers , they are always so kind and welcoming. I also appreciate that they don't put bbq sauce on their ribs , I'm kind of one of those weird people where i prefer to dip my meats into the sauce, because some places bbq sauce can be very overbearing. I got the two meat plate which came with your choice of two meats and two sides. I got some ribs and some sliced brisket with a Cesar salad and corn . The salad was so nice, fresh and green, and they weren't stingy with the Parmesan cheese either . I hate that the corn , which is something that is so easy to make was horrible . It was extremely mushy . So possibly over cooked and wasn't sweet or seasoned at all. Overall my experience was decent , I'm a regular at this location and plan to continue to be one . read more

Hear me out- I've never stepped foot in this establishment, nor have I placed an order from Dickeys in Waxahachie- but I recommend this place 100% over Red Oak Dickeys. Why? Simple- customer service you can depend on, thank you especially to Raul! I ordered Thanksgiving dinner from the Red Oak establishment and I got a call on the night of the date I was supposed to pick it up telling me they had to push up my pickup time due to insufficient materials (cool, I understand). I called close to the new pickup time to make sure I had ample time to drive and pick it up after holiday shopping in North Dallas- which they confirmed the 9pm close time. Well- sure enough they called me back at 7:30p saying they were closing at 7:45pm and I had 15min to pick up the order. I was on my way already, stuck in traffic and they said the manager had told everyone to go home. Anyway, fast forward- I called Friday morning after thanksgiving and NO answer. I drove to the red oak establishment and found no one when they said they were going to be OPEN. Instead I found The manager parked outside, who promised me a refund that would take 7-14 days to process (I was ok with that) but 18days later, nothing! Anyway, I've called Red Oak Dickeys- no answer. Then I called Waxahachie Dickeys and they did. In fact, Raul answered and although he couldn't do much for me, he listened, guided me and got me to the right place. Thanks Raul! You're the real one! read more

We enjoy this restaurant. The gentleman who cuts the meat has always been very nice. I'm like others with the comments about the sides looking old sometimes. They will fry you up a fresh basket of okra or onion strings, just ask. What happened to the worker who walked around passing out hot rolls btw?? I always get the tater with brisket, no complaints. I like the bbq sauce. Ribs and Turkey are good. Complimentary ice cream if you have room in your belly. Oh and they have good ranch. I'm a ranch connoisseur. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. I am absolutely livid. So it's a Friday night 7/11/20. We order three two meet specials. We had 5 people who were going to share that. We start eating like we normally do we split up some of the food among ourselves. We've been to this location dozens of times. Well about 3 minutes into eating I go to pick up a fork full of brisket and I see a thick hair like follicle protruding. Initially Im a bit grossed out but thinking it's maybe a hair but then my common sense kicks in. This hair like follicle is really thick thicker than even a beard hair and it's pretty long. In utter shock I show my family and at that moment I knew this was not a hair but in fact a what looks like a cockroach antenna. After further investigation and showing the family, there is no other explanation other than what it is. We all stand up immediately and start gagging my wife is now running to the bathroom to throw up and we are all just unbelievably grossed out. We have obviously stopped eating and I start to call the restaurant. I ask to speak to the manager. (My first Karen moment) I tell her what just happened, all she say is, "oh, really?" " Do you want us to switch out the food?" Honestly at this point we have all lost our appetites so we don't want to even eat. I tell her, "no we just want a refund." She says "ok just bring us the food." So we pack up as much food as we can get ourselves to and leave. This is where the story gets worst. They start examining the food and come back and In a laughing manner say where is "all" the food. I tell her that we packed up as much as we could quickly. At this point I really don't understand why we're even being questioned instead of being begged for forgiveness and being apologized to. The butchers in the background are laughing. I ask her can we just get our refund and go. She says no you can talk to my manager. THE MANAGER ISNT EVEN TAKING CARE OF US. Finally she calls the manager and she comes to the window and tells us that this cockroach antenna is a sausage casing. So now brisket has sausage casing like WTF. Anyway we tell them we want a refund regardless. And she says because we didn't bring all the food and because that's "not a cockroach antenna" we will not get a refund. Well we say ok well you can either get our refund and leave peacefully or we will leave reviews online with pictures to let YOU the internet decide. Well sorry to gross you out but here are the pictures you decide if we're crazy. Oh and we didn't get refunded. Instead we got laughed at and argued with. So Dickeys here you go. read more

Stopped at dickeys on our way through waxahachie because we were craving bbq. The brisket I ordered was very juicy and tasty. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich which looked delicious drowning in sauce. I tried the mac and cheese and green beans on the side and they were pretty good too. read more

We eat at this Dickey's a lot because it's a good location to meet up with friends, and the food is ok. We like the half-chicken but it's not available often. The regular chicken has too much BBQ sauce on it. The sausage is good, but the brisket can be iffy. NEVER get the chopped brisket or it will be nothing but fat globs and hard edges. The baked potatoes are usually big and there is an assortment of toppings for them. They are nearly always out of fried okra but the workers will make some if we ask and they always bring a big basket to our table. The cobbler is good, if you can get a scoop with peaches in it. Often it's just crust and filling. The rolls used to be wonderful, but the Dickey's corp. changed the recipe (in 2013 from what I gather from a news release) and now they are a little tough. Probably keeps people from eating more than one though. Most of the people working here are friendly. read more

Realized I didn't have my wallet when I went to pay and the staff was very, very gracious and allowed us to enjoy our meal before we ran back to the hotel to pay.
