Two meat plate $18. Sliced brisket, regular sausage, potato salad, macaroni cheese, and roll. It was alright, cafeteria type food.

Employees were nice and working hard. Food was OK. I would expect a bit more quality for the price.

    Beef?

I thought I'd try it since it was "under new management ". But NEW is not always better. They told me they were out of turkey and pulled pork so I got brisket only. It's over cooked and dry. It's not cut correctly so it's hard to cut and chew!!! It was soooo salty. I was told they were also out of fried okra, but yet there was some in my bag. However, I ordered green beans and i got none! I got everything in small paperbags as they were out of large plastic bags. ‍. I had to ask for the rolls. Sorry I did that, as they were flat and hard. They obviously didn't let them rise. It look longer than usual to get like 15 minutes longer. I was told by the lady at the windows that "we will have everything next time!" There won't be a next time. Sad sad sad. "Fingers to da Bone BBQ" for me.

    It's 101

Second time we have been here and the AC is out again. The employees are sweaty and hot but still have a good attitude. It's 101 outside. Temp inside felt like 102. I truly felt sorry for the employees.

Two meat plate with corn and Caesar salad

When I'm looking for some fast food bbq , Dickeys is my go to . I love that the location over here by where I stay has a drive in, so for those times when I'm really not feeling my best and look how I feel I can always slide thru the drive thru for some good and fast bbq food . This particular location has some of the friendliest workers , they are always so kind and welcoming. I also appreciate that they don't put bbq sauce on their ribs , I'm kind of one of those weird people where i prefer to dip my meats into the sauce, because some places bbq sauce can be very overbearing. I got the two meat plate which came with your choice of two meats and two sides. I got some ribs and some sliced brisket with a Cesar salad and corn . The salad was so nice, fresh and green, and they weren't stingy with the Parmesan cheese either . I hate that the corn , which is something that is so easy to make was horrible . It was extremely mushy . So possibly over cooked and wasn't sweet or seasoned at all. Overall my experience was decent , I'm a regular at this location and plan to continue to be one .

Supposed to turkey breast it must be the cheapest boneless turkey they find smh

The decor is very minimal, but one wall completely covered in customer signatures honestly adds a nice personal vibe to the place. Ordering happens at the register tucked into the back corner, so when there's a line it cuts right past some of the tables. Definitely close quarters while people are eating, but it somehow still fits the character of the place. The gentleman taking orders was friendly, just not overly talkative. The lady who brought our food out was very polite and welcoming though, which I appreciated. Overall, the service was okay. Our food took about 10-15 minutes to come out, which felt a little long considering it didn't appear very busy other than one larger party already seated when we arrived. To be fair, we couldn't see what was happening in the kitchen. The only real frustrating part was waiting close to another 10 minutes for a to-go container after asking a few times. As for the food, I'd say it landed somewhere in the average range for Texas BBQ. Nothing was outright bad, but nothing really blew me away either. I ordered the loaded baked potato topped with brisket, link, two pork ribs, all the traditional baked potato toppings, and their spicy BBQ sauce. First off, the potato itself was fantastic. Huge, perfectly tender, and honestly exactly what a baked potato should be. The toppings were fresh and plentiful -- butter, cheese, sour cream, bacon pieces -- and it could have stood on its own as a solid meal even before adding the meats. The brisket was over chopped, which personally isn't my favorite style at a BBQ joint. I usually feel like finely chopped brisket loses some of the texture and full smoke flavor you get from sliced or a coarse chopped brisket cut to order. It stayed moist, but I really didn't pick up much smoke flavor from it. The link was unfortunately overcooked and dried out. The casing had tightened around the meat, and even sliced up it just didn't have much juice left in it. The ribs were probably the weakest part for me. They were on the smaller side, dry, and pretty tough with the meat cooked down close to the bone. Now with all of that said, the seasoning on the meats was excellent. Bold flavor across everything, and the spicy BBQ sauce was absolutely on point. I just wish the meats themselves had a little more life and moisture to match how good the seasoning tasted. Overall, everything felt pretty average to slightly below average for me, especially by Texas BBQ standards. On the positive side, the prices were actually very reasonable considering how expensive meat has become these days. I'd still come back again because I'd like to try some of the meats individually and let them stand on their own without being loaded onto a baked potato. There's definitely flavor here -- I just think the execution was a little inconsistent during this visit.

With formalities out of the way, I make my second coming on Yelp by way of reviewing Brisket City Craft BBQ and you're welcome. Our society has long accepted that I am nothing short of Barbecue Jesus with standards higher than Mt. Everest. When I drive past the likes of Dickey's, their staff tremble at my mere presence within a few hundreds yard of their establishment. I have shut down subpar BBQ joints with just a glance. I have ruled DFW BBQ reviews with an iron fist that shows no mercy to any heathen who dares to dishonor the culinary masterpiece that is Texas BBQ. Nonetheless, I decided to take a few of my friends (very important dignitaries, Victoria's Secret super models and others who can't get enough of me) to Brisket City...and found this place to be an ABSOLUTE GEM. Their brisket is a solid 11/10... cooked perfectly, moist, proper smoke ring, the right bark and immaculate flavor--a rarity around here. Finding such BBQ in DFW let alone Ellis County is rare. I have decreed that this places makes my top two along with Hutchins in Frisco. I shared some gentle recommendations with their staff on considering non apple cider vinegar based sauce as an alternative, albeit inexpensive addition that would appeal to wider palettes but we all know that real men don't put sauce on their meat anyway so no points deducted there but felt it was important for me to advocate for the trans community and others who must have their sauces. I must now tend my other affairs, but leave you with my strongest endorsement of this proper smokehouse. It's worth the trip. Until next time...
