Pops Burger has that classic American diner look that I really liked. Red and black seats, wooden tables, old license plates, vintage stuff everywhere, and those colorful lights across the ceiling. It has a little bit of everything going on. The whole place felt bright, fun, and very old-school. The lady at the front was super nice and sweet too. I ordered the Pops Double Combo with American cheese, ketchup, pickles, and onions. The burger was really good. The patties were tender and full of that familiar grilled beef flavor, with a nice little char around the edges. The American cheese melted right into the meat and gave it that creamy, salty flavor that just belongs on a classic burger. The pickles added a sharp little crunch, while the onions brought a bit of sweetness. Just tasted like a really good old-fashioned burger. The kind of flavor I recognized right away, but somehow better than I remember. The bun, beef, cheese, ketchup, pickles, and onions all worked together perfectly. read more

Pop's Burger Stand - Pops Double Combo - Burgers Near Me - Waxahachie, Texas

We visited Pop's Burger Stand after seeing it recommended on "Things To Do In Waxahachie," and it definitely did not disappoint! The restaurant is well-known for its root beer floats, but since we were already stuffed from our meal, we'll have to save that for our next visit. I ordered my go-to, the mushroom burger, with fries and a drink. My husband went with the "Low and Slow" burger and a side of onion rings. The onion rings were absolutely delicious--thin and crispy, exactly the way I like them! The setup is simple: you order at the register and then find a seat. The atmosphere is fantastic, like stepping back in time with all the antique objects decorating the space. I especially loved the "Elvis wall" near the women's restroom. Elvis holds a special place in my family's heart, so that was a really lovely touch. Great food and a wonderful vintage vibe. We'll definitely be back to try those floats! read more

Super cute and nostalgic vibe .. if you're a fan of Elvis Presley or the whole theme of the Grease movie or that particular time frame, you'll find yourself intrigued by the set up / decor in this restaurant.. it definitely gives cute date night or teenaged hang out spot vibes. i absolutely love me a good burger and wanted a burger that didn't give the fast food feel and quality. I'd heard of pops burger stand a while back when mentioning before to a co worker about wanting a good home style Like hamburger, but never had the opportunity to try it. It's located in downtown waxahachie, easy to miss especially if you are driving too fast . Or aren't looking for it. I missed it and was actually looking for it lol. I was able to pull right in front the location where there were a few more open parking spots . So parking was fairly easy. I ordered a regular pops burger - the original , a regular fry and a regular size Dr Pepper. Added cheese, onion and lettuce and Paid around $12 , pricing seemed fair considering the economy were currently in. I placed my order to go , The burger was decent, and smaller than the pictures I'd come across on the restaurants facebook page and google pictures. For me , there's nothing to really brag about but also nothing to complain about either. Fries were decent as well but the ice was amazing and comparable to sonic. Not sure if this location has a juke box, because I didn't see one . I was too entertained by the rest of the decor , but I feel that's really all that this place would need for it to be the perfect hangout spot for me lol . The service was quick and the service providers were very friendly and welcoming. I look forward to eating at this restaurant again soon. read more

Simply outstanding old school burgers- with quality ingredients and made fresh to order. We were afraid that perhaps Pop's was resting on its laurels and past reviews, but no, it's NOT true. You get to have your burger just the way you like, I chose the same favorite style of the employee that took our order (which involved double patties, pepper jack cheese and avocado-sublime.) Of course I had it carnivore- ish (sans bun) so I could really taste the quality of the ground beef. Quality ground beef and cooked medium rare-- the very best way to eat it -- and ALWAYS highly prized!! This is not fast food pre-made stuff, so enjoy the ambience while you wait for made-to-order deliciousness!!! read more

Pop's Burger Stand - Custom burger and sunny February day-- what a life! - Burgers Near Me - Waxahachie, Texas

Excellent Onion Rings! Really really really good food. I loved the Pop's Burger with cheese but the star of the show are those dang onion rings chased with an icy cold mug of house made root beer. Delicious! Expect a wait to get your food once you order. There are 6 outside tables on the patio with cool, funky decor inside. Make sure to stop by Monday through Saturday. Closed on Sundays. read more

Hands down the best burger spot around. If you're looking for something that blows fast food out of the water, this is the place. The food takes a little time to come out, but that's because everything is made fresh to order--and it shows. The flavor, the quality, the way everything is cooked just right... it's more than worth the wait. The atmosphere is a throwback in the best way. The interior feels like stepping into a time machine, with vintage signs, old-school photos, and a real sense of americana nostalgia. It's got that classic American diner charm that's hard to find these days. You don't just get a great meal--you get an experience. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and go. Pops delivers every single time. read more

After spending the morning at the range, we came away HUNGRY. We ended up here. I've been a burger fan since forever. This is the best burger I have tasted yet in Texas. Thick, juicy patties cooked to order with all the right toppings. Get your bun toasted! What seriously kills are their onion rings. These and hand made and hand battered. Thin and crisp outside, sweet onion inside. I'm asking for a larger portion next time! They were that good. This was my first time in DT Waxahachie. This is a spot I am looking forward to coming back to again. The lady at the front counter was an absolute sweetheart. She asked all the right questions for my order. Oh! One final important detail, they have pellet ice! That makes a big difference in my drink experience. If you're in the area, go there. read more

WONDEFUL!!! Good old fashion burgers. Fries are real potatoes. The atmosphere is very rustic. Craftsman root beer. Best food ever!!'

Don't let the bad reviews keep you from Pop's. I was a little leery going in but once you get your food, you'll be glad you went there. The burgers were delicious! Cooked perfectly and very tasty. Hand cut fried were very good and so were the onion rings. Wish there would have been more rings in the order so I'll remember to get a double order next time. One thing you have to get is a fried pie. They were amazing! Served hot with some whipped cream and a maraschino cherry on top. Several flavors to choose from such as peach, blackberry, pineapple, Pecan and more. Give Pop's a try, you'll be glad you did! read more

Stumbled upon this place on Google maps. We saw that it was highly rated and wanted to give it a try. I will have to say, it lived up to the hype on Google and Yelp. It was quite busy when we made it there. There was a long wait for our food, but there were plenty of things to look which was a nice distraction. It was a tad bit warm inside due to it being busy and the door was constantly opening and with many people inside. The food came out hot! Yes to that! The burger was seasoned anda bit on the small side. The fries were crispy just how I like them! Just needed a little salt and pepper. Overall, this place was pretty cool and the customer service was great! read more

Stopped at Pop's for lunch while visiting Waxahatchie. This place was an amazing find. Lots of atmosphere but the best part was the food. These may very well be the best burgers in Texas. For the hungry appetite, you can get a burger with 5 patties. There are options for 1 to 5 patties plus all the toppings you can imagine. The onion rings are perfect too. Fried just right served hot and crispy. Certainly worth a visit if you're n Waxahatchie. read more

Love this old burger stand. We had a little bit of a wait but worth it for the burgers.

Went here with my husband & three kids one hour before closing. The restaurant ran out of various items such as jalapeños, bell peppers, onion rings and bacon. Everyone enjoyed their burgers, chicken tenders & fries. Orders are taken promptly and food comes out quickly. Use cash to avoid being charged a credit card fee. I love the decoration and ambiance inside of the restaurant. It definitely feels like a mom & pop burger shop. The prices are affordable, too! We spent $40 for a family of five. read more

Great burger and fries! Highly recommended to anyone wanting any old fashioned burgers!

Drove way too far. I live about 25 min away. I got lost following gps so I called but got no help. The staff were nice though. I finally found the place on my own. It is an unassuming hole in the wall, dark inside with no natural light. Not very welcoming. The food was hot and fresh but not worth the price or the time it took to get there. Portions were small child like and the food taste was basic. Wont go back. read more

So greasy. So yummy! There is a great outdoor area to sit and enjoy a burger. Inside needs a major clean/wipe down. Things have been on those walls for a long time it seems. Pretty good burgers !!!! Been coming to waxahachie for a long time never bother to stop here till today I left satisfied.

Thought the price was a little high compared to what they were serving--but the food was yummy. Really liked the onion rings though. The famous root beer was pretty flat, so the syrup-y taste wasn't that great. read more

The most I can say about this experience is that the sides were the best thing we had today. We all ordered different things (the Texas Philly, pops burger, low n slow) and it was not what was expected. The meat Pattie's were burnt to a crisp and the burger and good lacked tastes. Not to mention, we had to wait an hour and a half for our food to arrive. This restaurant will not get my recommendation. read more

Its no wonder why we hadnt been to this establishment in over 5 years. Ordered for 5 adults, and waited roughly 25 minutes for the order to come out. This was for take out, and of course they forgot an order of onion rings. No biggie, just 3-4 more minutes... NOPE. 10 more minutes go by and only the cashier had the courtesy to ask why we were still there. We told her (who was very kind) that we had told the runner they had missed our onion rings and had been waiting for almost 10 minutes. She took the initiative and went back to the cooks to obviously sort this out and get us home. She came back with a cash refund... no onion rings. This is 6:15 pm and they are not only out of onion rings, but they couldnt even communicate to the front of house that this is the case. We got home at 7 and its a 3 minute drive. Now our shakes have melted into soup, and by the time we FINALLY get home, our fries are stone cold and EVERY single burger is a wet mess because the buns had now absorbed every ounce of liquid put onto them. All for a mere $92.00. So do youselves a favor, dine in and dont order the onion rings, because they wont have any nor tell you so. Oh they also charge you to use your debit/credit card read more

This place has horrible customer service. We were sitting for an HOUR and no one said ANYTHING the lady that took our order was so nice but she said it would be out in a couple minutes after a while the person cleaning tables came out to obviously do her job but didn't say ANYTHING to us not a sorry we're running behind or sorry about the wait it will just be a little longer or ANYTHING and after waiting 45 mins the people that had just arrived got their food first. so i went up to the counter and asked how much longer because we had been there an hour and the lady( glasses tattoos on her neck) looked at me and said it will be next up. not an apology or an ounce of concern for the amount of time we had been there. after we FINNALY got our food IT WAS COLD AND OUR FRIES HAS NO SEASONING!!!! I'm never coming back here and neither should anybody. I was not the only person complaining about the wait and asking for a manager that wasn't even there. you can SEE the burgers just sitting there waiting for fries and that's just ridiculous. do better. read more
