I love a good Philly! We made a quick stop here for a quick dinner. Got two gigantic Philly sandwiches. Decent prices especially for the size. They are loaded with meat and cheese and whatever else you pick. The meat was definitely salty, I was so thirsty all night. But the food was very good! Awesome sandwich shop I found on a last minute little search. I was at the Meat Church barbecue supply store down the street and needed something to fill me up and this hit the spot. They were quick with the cook. The only thing that I was surprised of was the size of the meal wasn't very large. For what you pay for I would except it to be a bit bigger and more filling. Holy cow, my husband and I are so happy we tried this out today! The restaurant is very nice, calm and relaxing. It feels homey and welcoming. The person who checked us out was very kind. My top compliment, of course though, is the food! This is probably one of the best Philly cheesesteaks we have ever eaten (if not the best)! We got the Texan Philly and the bacon & cheese wedge fries, and we were absolutely mind blown. We took it to go and immediately started eating in the car. Everything was spiced amazingly well, and we even put the rest of our Philly meat (that had fallen out of the stuffed sandwich) onto the fries which made for a better experience. The restaurant is full of old Philly photos to kind of "set the mood," and it's clean and well-maintained. This place is located in downtown waxahachie and is family owned. I have had Philly cheesesteaks in the heart of Philly and these ones here did not disappoint. It was pretty empty when we went in so we got our food quickly. We were told they had sweet potatoes fries and unfortunately they didn't. Waxahachie resumed their Christmas Tour of Homes this year and we decided to take a break from the tour and grab a sandwich. Somehow we've never made it to "Straight from Philly" on Main downtown, so today was the day. Parking in front is limited, busy and hazardous; but there's plenty of parking around the historic courthouse square and it's just a short walk. I wish I would have thought to snap a photo of the "Straight from Philly" posted menu. I can tell you that we ordered only Cheesesteak sandwiches for around $10.50 each. Later, I tried to look up a menu and finally found a current one on Grubhub. They seemed to be doing a brisk to go business; but we ate pretty much alone in the dining room at 5:30 on a Saturday. The sandwiches we had ordered at the counter, came out to the table screaming hot! My North Philly had mushrooms, bell peppers, provolone and added jalapenos. It was wonderful! A tender steamy bun with gooey cheese and the most incredible caramelized mushrooms. So very good! My husband had the Broad Street Bully Philly with bell peppers, banana peppers, hot cherry peppers, sweet peppers and mushrooms. Wow! It disappeared pretty pronto. Neither one of us ordered fries or a combo, yet an order appeared with the sandwiches. We weren't sure why. We did eat them, however, and they WERE good. Hot. Crunchy. Yet tender inside. I don't usually order fries but I would order these. There's catsup and hand sanitizer on every table. Every table is individually lit in this tall-ceilinged historic building. No complaints here like at all!! I honestly fell in love with the place, from the service to the decor and the most important THE FOOD!! I ordered the mushroom cheesesteak and it was so good. The meal is more than enough for one person, it could easily feed 2. The kids meals are also pretty big and we had food leftover from the younger little ones. The mood in the place is so laidback, well at least when we stopped in there for lunch, I could easily see this as a date or hangout spot. They do have a drum set on a corner so I'm guessing they have maybe a music night? I would love to stop by and checkout out when they have that going on. I've been coming here every chance I get for at least the last 7 years and the cheesesteak sandwiches have always been great. Today was no exception BUT I have never experienced such rudeness!! I brought my aunt and daughter and I was so embarrassed. When the girl walked out to take our order she didn't even greet us & she slumped against the register looking down at her ticket pad and said, what can I get you? Where I could barely hear her. After I ordered my sandwich she asked, is that all you want? Without even looking up at me. Same when she took the rest of my parties order. Then, my aunt realized her sandwich had onions and returns it to her. She takes it, says nothing and chunks it in the trash. Then, yells across the room to confirm what my aunt ordered. TERRIBLE customer service!!! Y'all gotta do better. Anyone working the front of a restaurant or taking orders should at least acknowledge the customer! Make sure your employees are educated in customer service. It's a crucial part of a successful business. read more

The absolute BEST Philly I have ever had. My son and I discovered this several years ago. It became one of our hangout/meeting places when he was in college. We LOVE it. You can almost see a tear in our eyes when we are about to take our last bite. We are going to meet there today for lunch and I can hardly wait.
