This place is only really good if you get high ahead of time. DO NOT get the jalapeño baked beans please. They literally taste like water. If you do I recommend getting it mixed with the bbq baked beans so you can have a little flavor. I'm not sure if they do that but I know it's be better than just beans that taste like they were just boiled in jalapeño water. The Mac was pretty good and the brisket and ribs too. Next time I'll probably get double rib the brisket was really fatty but after I smoked I ate it all (except the beans, yes they were that bad lol). This is truly a three star place. read more

On Tuesday, August 25 we placed an order on line and paid for it. Our son picked up the order and brought it to our home. When the bags were opened the half pound of turkey was missing. We called the store, at this point wanting a credit. The man who answered the phone said we had to go online to feedback@desertbbq.com and fill out a request. We thought it an odd way to handle but complied. The email provided was simply a survey. So we filled it out including all of the information. We received a reply saying thank you for your feedback.... Four days later and no one has reached out to provide a credit or even ask for more information, extremely disappointing. We've eaten at this Dickeys location several times, and have given them numerous opportunities to make improvements, but sadly it's remained the same. My husband did a take out order about 2 weeks ago, and it was really good, we were just missing our salad dressing for the salad. We did another take out order a few days ago, and we were missing two orders of waffle fries, the order wasn't correct, and the food was just "okay". When spending $70 for dinner, you expect the order to be correct and the food to be fresh. It's very disappointing. Now I remember why we hadn't been back in so long. They just opened this week. Nice and clean inside the restaurant. Staff was pushy while I was trying to decipher the complicated menu. Not a lot of seating as it's located in a retail strip. I saw meat on the counter with a date sticker that had the yesterdays date. I asked about it and said I didn't want yesterday's food. The employee said it was fresh. I asked how it was fresh if it was dated the day before. He just said "that's how we do it". Not sure how that works. Food tastes okay. Nothing special. This is by far the worst bbq my husband and I have ever had! We ordered two Competition platters. The only difference in our plates were his waffle fries and my salad. The brisket on both was cold and tasted like leftovers. The burnt ends, also cold, had an overpowering taste of maple. His waffle fries were underdone. My salad, which was served in a cup, was predominantly the heel of the lettuce. The roll was obviously just taken out of the refrigerator, extremely cold and had a melted dab of butter on the top. The only thing edible were the beans which were very hot and tasty. To top it off the price tag for this garbage was over $57 with the tip. We will be avoiding any Dickey's from now on and we'd strongly advice everyone to do the same. read more

I came in this afternoon for the first time to cash in a coupon and the two working the counter were so welcoming! The environment here is so cute and homey; very clean. As far as the food, I tried their sweet tea (which is either hit or miss at a restaurant), baked potato casserole, onion tangles, pulled pork sandwich and each of their 3 different bbq sauces (Spicy, sweet, bbq)!!! I wasn't sure which sauce I wanted, so the woman helping me suggested I try them all and pick my favorite! (My fav is now the spicy!) I loved everything I purchased!!! I know Dickey's is fast food BBQ but it's usually good, maybe 3 - 4 stars at times. I know I'm now posting about a single incident but it's really more than that. I sent the following to the franchisee on 3/3: My wife and I went to this Dickeys last night. My wife asked if the fries were seasoned. The meat cutter said, "Yes". So, she ordered half-rack of rib plate. When asked what two sides she wanted she told him just one side of fries. No other side. I ordered the same half-rack plate with okra and mac & cheese as my sides. We got our drinks and we were ready to sit down at a table but we had to wipe it down before we set anything down on it. Both drink machines were missing some of the items that make the special flavored sodas. About 5 - 10 minutes later the ribs, corn muffins and my mac & cheese came out. The ribs were lukewarm at best and much drier than usual. The corn muffins were cold like they just came out of the refrigerator. The mac & cheese was fine. Another 10 minutes or so and my fried okra came out. It was under-cooked (pale) and over-salted. Another 5 - 10 minutes and my wife's fries came out. For some reason there were two orders not just the one she asked for. They were hot but obviously not seasoned. I asked for two to go containers to pack up our food. We threw away the fries and okra, then went home to heat up our food. If the restaurant was busy I could understand some delays and maybe even some of the tables needing to be wiped down but there were very few people there and none of the three employees there seemed to be doing anything other than joking around when there were no customers at the counter. I received a response 3/4 saying the area coach would reach out to me 3/6 after lunch. I sent another email 3/15 since I hadn't heard anything and received a response saying the area coach would reach out the next day after lunch. Two days later I sent another email since I still had not heard anything. As I said at that time, "It's now past lunch two days later. It seems you take customer's input as seriously as the restaurant took our order." We were then told to go into the restaurant, show them our letter and they would give us two complete meals. I really don't think showing them my letter complaining about their product and service would be to our benefit. read more

Ordered a meal pack said enough to feed 8 peeps: 3 pounds meat (we chose beef brisket, pulled pork & pork ribs), 4 sides (green beans, mac n' cheese, potato salad & baked potato), and 8 buns. Fried Okra and Chicken Taco were added as extras. The meal pack barely enough to feed 6 people in my opinion. The pulled pork was dry and bland, the brisket was also a bit bland, and bbq sauce felt like it was watered down. The good thing was the pork ribs and fried okra were very good. Another sad thing was the chicken taco....it was good but very small portion. Overall, for the price and the food you are getting....not sure if it is going to be a repeat. Decent BBQ fast food. If you don't want a full service meal, then Dickey's BBQ Pit is a good choice. You walk up to order, then your meal is ready at the other end of the line at the register. The prices and portions are decent. They have a variety of side dishes. Pulled pork is moist and smoky flavored. My friend had the brisket and said it was on the dry side. The sides were delicious! They offer daily specials and I think kids eat FREE on Sundays. I would return here again whenever I get the craving for some quick BBQ! read more

Great brisket and jalapeño cheddar sausage. Kind of pricey, but very high quality meats. I especially like their potato salad and spicy bbq sauce (I like mixing them together). The inside is very neat looking and everyone is very helpful. The best part is if you are sneaky enough, you can walk away with a free ice cream cone. What is going on with this store? This will be our final visit to this store. We have eaten here almost every two weeks for nearly 2 years.  I hope that Rudy's can treat their customers better than Dickeys does. This is sad because we really like Dickeys but cannot continue with how poorly this location is being ran. We saw it when it was great and now we are seeing another side. This store needs serious help We finally received the order for tonight and we started eating over 1.5 hours after we ordered it.  The 9 piece wings was missed and the ribs were disgusting and not what I ordered. This store now owes me about $75 dollars worth of food that was missed between 3 orders. We will try the goodyear, Az location. The surprise Az location needs serious help My last before tonight order was missing $30 dollars worth of food and when I drove to the store to get it, they told me they were out of wings and ribs. We have been to Dickey's BBQ a couple times, mostly takeout. It was small inside and the seating was uninviting for us. That has all changed! They expanded into the former bicycle shop next door, and the new look is great! Open, inviting, country themed. The staff were as nice as could be, and bent over backwards to ensure we had an excellent experience. We are in and will again, often. The menu is pretty standard BBQ fare, and it is all done right. Meats, sides, sauces, it's all delicious. The soda machines are a nice touch, they have the Coca Cola Freestyle machines. They were out of Diet Cherry Coke, but had plenty of good choices left. Great location off the free way. Staff is friendly and fast. I had a two meat plate: pulled pork, brisket (chopped), potato salad and bbq beans. All was fresh and tasty. I ordered a pork sandwich to eat at the restaurant. It was cold - like room temperature cold. I took one bite and returned to the counter and he said he could heat it up or make me a new sandwich. Because of the temperature of the pork I didn't want a new sandwich, I was afraid of food poisoning as there can be no reason to have it cold in the first place. The two employees were very pleasant but I think I should have been refunded the $7.67 since I took only one bite and returned it immediately. Corporate was a hoot - I emailed them and got a response from the owner of this restaurant stating "looking forward to the opportunity to serve you again in the future, and we thank you for your continued support." I called as I figured this was an automated response and was told that was their response. I would not recommend eating here because I'm not sure the food is safe to eat. Usually you walk into a BBQ restaurant and can smell the food & bbq sauce. Not here. This was at 1 p.m. and only one table had two people there. Not impressed. I got 3 meat plate $15.98 supposed to be Texas sized. I got two tiny ribs with no meat on them. I'm not quite sure how to descibe them: day old, kept under heat lamp, just kind of had a funky taste. The jalapeño cheese sausage link was ok, but it seemed just like ones you would get from grocery store. The beef brisket was above average. But the bbq sauce they give you to put on it has no flavor. It tastes just like tomato sauce. The best part of the meal was the roll and potato salad....I won't be going back. DELICIOUS BBQ with perfect sauces, regular-sweet-spicy. All very very good! All sides were served piping hot and also delish. Rolls weren't our favorite, but who cares when we filled up on the tender smoked brisket, pulled pork and fall-off-the-bone ribs! Shared a slice of the pecan pie for that perfect sweet finish to a very enjoyable meal! We appreciate the friendly, helpful staff as it was our first time there. The smallish dining area has a cool atmosphere with the store's history and the overall cleanliness was OUTSTANDING, which is sadly not the norm in many places lately! We ordered delivery on an app 3 hours before they closed. 15 minutes later we were notified on the app that our order was canceled because the business was closed. I called and got Justin who proceeded to tell me that they had run out of beans so he turned off the delivery tablets. We didn't even order beans! If I could give 0 stars I would. I walked in and the rude girl behind the register said"well, if you haven't ordered, go stand down there". I went to the order station and waited, and waited, and waited. Now let me set the stage: 5 people in the kitchen, and only one was taking orders and making food the rest stared at me. Mind you, there is a notice on the door, all patrons not physically sitting at a table eating are required to wear a mask. Of the 5 behind the order counter, one guy had his mask on. The tall guy taking orders and making food, had his mask around his neck. The others had masks covering their chins but not covering their mouths and noses. After standing there with 4 people staring at me the tall guy finally told me he could take my order but it would be a considerable wait. I said fine, I want a Large Chicken Salad to go. Well he didn't think they had that chicken. But he started looking around for some chicken. He finally asked one of the others that had heard my order, and that guy finally said, someone used it all earlier. Why couldn't he have stepped in? He knew that was what I ordered. Why was there only one guy taking orders, making the food, and packaging the to go orders????? The plexiglass was filthy, no masks and the topper, wearing gloves and touched the register and food, the handles on the refrigerators, and everything else. I left without food. They saved me from being contaminated by Covid or anything else, On my way out of the restaurant, one of the smart a..sea behind the counter made a remark I will not type here. I see the reviews are terrible for this place. I wish I had checked them before!
