I've been to several Dickey's locations over the years in various states and I found my experience at this one to be the best by far! Friendly and fast service and the food seemed very fresh! They have seating for about 50 and you go through the line to order like you would at Subway. They serve Coca-Cola products and iced teas and they have 3 bbq sauces to self serve from (you ladel them from a warmed pot into little Solo cups). No salt/pepper or sauces at your seating area, only paper towels. I ordered a 1 meat plate which came with 2 sides. They have maybe 10 different sides from which to choose including fried okra, mac and cheese, fried onion strings, potato salad, baked beans, jalepeno beans, waffle fries and several others. The 1 meat plate is priced at $9.99 and I felt it was a very good value! I was given an ample amount of brisket and plenty of food per side item as well. The only aspect to the meal that I didn't enjoy was the dinner roll...low quality, but not a big deal. I was totally full by the time I was done eating and had no room for the roll anyhow. Please see my pics for details on what my meal looked like. Plenty of parking in the lot out front and to the side and it's next door to the Myrtle Beach AAA. I would definitely return here. Nah fam... just nah..... Ordered 3 meat platter and one of every side to try everything. I ordered the pulled brisket, sliced brisket, and chicken breast... Sadly, they were out of chicken breast so I doubled up on sliced brisket... The sliced brisket was 85% burnt and rock solid, not even remotely edible. The pulled brisket was almost all fat... Now the sides... Mac and cheese... just no... no flavor at all... just bland, doesn't taste like cheese of any kind. Potato salad... it's literally mashed potato salad... flavor was pretty decent, but come on man... not mashed potatoes.... Brisket chili... not even sure WHAT in the conglomeration of leftovers that was. Literally tastes like strands of brisket, water, and a lot of chili powder. Just terrible. Prisoners on death row shouldn't even be subject to having to eat this. I'm gonna ask my lawyer, but I'm pretty sure their brisket chili violates our 8th amendment right that protects us from cruel and unusual punishment. My taste buds are so mad at me for this chili, some of them even left me a suicide note. Baked beans and the green beans... not too bad at all. Good job there. 2 good sides and a good roll... At 17.00 each we feel we were ripped off. When I called the manager told me the ends of the rib rack is what his boss wants given to customers that order online. Nothing but bones. (Was I wrong, I thought I saw smoked wings online but none at the store?). I really wanted wings tonight. Well, was the brisket pre-sliced? Just a question. I did get one of the end pieces that was a bit burned/liked really tough...hey, it happens...but for the most part, the brisket was ok. The star was the cheese/jalepeno sausage, spicy. The roll was not to my liking. The baked beans weren't any better than if they came from a can...same with the mac-n-cheese. Good, but nothing special. I promise, I try to leave at least three stars for every review. However, this time, I was bit disappointed. My husband raved about this restaurant as he'd visited other locations. I always rate an establishment by its customer service. If the food/merchandise is less than average, the customer service can turn things completely around. This was my first time here so I asked if something came on the pulled pork sandwich and the look I got....I was geesh, let me be quiet!!! There was no good evening, nothing. Staff seemed to be very annoyed. Now on to the food. The ribs were way overcooked for me. The sweet corn was tasty. However, it seems more like mac and cheese but with corn, instead of mac...Lol. I love a good chopped bbq sandwich. Saw this place when taking my daughter to Zaxbys. Great customer service. The young man gave me suggestions on the sides of Mac and cheese and loaded baked potatoes. Both were delicious. The pork was tender. I like the meat to be seasoned without the sauce. Dickey's would definitely not be my first choice for barbecue, we came here because Pete Hegseth of Fox recommended it as "consistently good food" at every location. I forgot to take a picture of my food before I ate it, and I apologize for that, but as you can see the mac & cheese in the bun were not good. It is extremely rare that I don't eat everything on my plate. The mac & cheese should have been called "mush and cheese" it was so overcooked. The bun seemed undercooked and dense. For meats,I ordered the brisket which was good but a little dry, there was no fat on it, and the chicken breast which was actually very good. The chicken was juicy and tender and flavorful. It was a horrible experience, I took the food to go and wound up throwing it away, I was afraid to eat it, it was rubbery, and cold and look like it was full of grease and fatty meat. For bbq, the price point is extremely affordable (I recommend getting a combo plate for the best bang for your buck). Ribs can easily exceed $20 in most restaurants. For $12.95 you can get ribs and 2 hefty sides! 2. The employees were extremely sweet and considerate. The register was down when my bf and I placed our order. I have been enjoying Dickies since I first had them at DFW airport over a year ago. At the specific location I want to address customer service. I pre-ordered an XL family pack for pick up for a Sunday lunch with friends. Apparently they forgot to put in 1 pound of chopped pork barbecue, when I called the store the manager apologized and since I was having friends over the house he decided to deliver it to me. THIS is true customer service! Additionally he gave me 2@ $5 off certificates for the inconvenience. Let me start off by saying I love Dickey's and am not very picky when going to places. That being said, this was probably the worst run Dickeys I have ever been in. When we came in, there were workers on the line out of uniform with no hats. We ordered and they made the food fairly quickly, and brought the waffle fries out to our table when they were ready which was great. When we went to go get the sauce, they were out of cups. No big deal, we asked someone for cups and they brought them out. When we got our sauce, we discovered that all of the sauces were really cold. The floor was also really dirty for the entirety of our stay. There were some families in the store when we arrived but soon it was down to us and another couple. The employees started watching a loud video on the line and had their cellphones out on the cutting board! When I went to use the bathroom, it was occupied so I waited. Then out comes one of the out of uniform workers, and when I went in about 5 minutes later I was disgusted. Garbage overflowing, pee all over the floor, no paper towels. And the employee didnt even make an effort to clean or tell someone the restroom needed to be cleaned. When we were leaving, what looked to be a manger (he had a black polo on) was eating on the line. I write this review hoping that the franchisee will see this and get that location back on track. I read previous reviews and it looks like this location was doing great a few months ago. Unfortunately the 2 Dickeys near us closed, I'd hate for this one to close too. The staff here was very friendly! We ordered the Picnic Platter, it came with two choice of meats, 2 large sides, and 4 rolls. Kids eat free on Sundays so we got a free kids platter with chicken, French fries, and a roll! They also have free vanilla ice cream! The brisket was so good and tender! First visit to this location. I've been to real Texas bbq joints and this one is authentic. Had to ask for pickles and onions but they were free. Delicious meat, beans, Mac and cheese. The only difference with Texas is that they give you a roll instead of a slice of white bread. Enjoyed it much. read more
