Dickies BBQ is a very decent place for a barbecue. I enjoyed everything we ordered. I suggest ordering online and picking up your order, it's so much faster doing so. Horrible experience. Entrance doors were filthy. Had the 2 meat platter. One small scoop of decent pulled pork and ONE slice of poor quality brisket. So I always felt like Buffalo really sucks for BBQ, but this is the best BBQ I've had in the area. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone perfection. Seriously, so good! I got the 3 meat plate with the ribs, sliced brisket and jalapeno cheddar kelbasa. Man that is some flavorful kelbasa! Spicy with a good char. The brisket was delicious with a nice rub and so so tender. My sides were the Mac and cheese and the creamy spinach. Both of these sides were incredible and I would love to eat the biggest bowls of both of these. Would highly recommend!! I believe that they rotate the meats they have available. This was surprisingly decent for a chain BBQ restaurant. While looking for a place that kids eat free on Sunday, I stumbled upon Dickey's. The pricing seemed inflated, but that's likely due to overall inflation / market conditions. The quality of the food was good though. Especially enjoyed the Beef brisket burnt ends. If I could describe Dickey's it would be like a Boston Market with a BBQ flair. You have a diverse menu full of sandwiches, side dishes, and platters to choose from. (at an affordable price too) Last time, I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with cheese and Buffalo sauce. I also added side dishes of Mac and cheese and creamed spinach. (my favorite side dish by far) In the past I've also ordered the brisket and the jalapeño cheddar sausage. (so good but beware it's a spicy one) All food is very hot and fresh, decent portions.....never any complaints here. They do catering too! So, I think this is a solid three kind of place. I've been here twice now, and it's a chain I guess, so it's not like I really need to add much other than my experience. Anyway, so I've had the brisket, the turkey and the chicken as mains, and the baked potato casserole (it's mashed potatoes), the jalapeño beans, the green beans and the brisket chili as side. So, the brisket is not bad. Pretty decent, but nothing amazing. The chicken isn't bad. The turkey, though, that's where they really dropped the ball. It was both flavourless *and* rubbery! Ew. So, brisket winner, chicken is decent. Turkey is honestly bad. The Texas hot BBQ sauce is their hottest sauce, and it's extremely mild. To me. IDK YMMV. But that's not too say it's not good, it's just not hot. On to the sides. The mashed potatoes are not bad at all. The jalapeño beans are lack luster. The green beans are from a can. But the brisket chili is actually pretty good. So potatoes and chili are the go to, absolutely! So, final thought on food is this: get brisket and Texas hot sauce with potatoes and brisket chili and you're in for a decent meal. It's not the best, but it's far from the worst. So, a solid three. Final thought overall: okay food. Price is I guess reasonable. The staff, however, have seemed like I'm bothering them every time I've come in. Stopped by over the weekend for a Facebook deal of bogo meat plate with the purchase of two drinks. I ordered the pulled pork and chopped brisket, friend got the sliced and chopped brisket. Both of us are kind of bbq snobs so we expect a lot from bbq, especially a good smoke flavor and bark on the meats. Sadly there wasn't either on either of our entrees. The meat wasn't bad by any means but was a little bland and had a soft texture, most likely by being left in the steam bins. If your not a bbq aficionado you probably would like it more then I did. The sides: Mac and cheese, green beans, creamed spinach and potato casserole were all ok. Nothing really stood out. The portions were also a lot smaller then they looked on the website. I would say the best of the bunch was the green beans, they actually had more of a smoke flavor then the meats. The dinner roll that came with the meal was also nothing spectacular. Staff was very nice and helpful while ordering. Also the restaurant was extremely clean, especially for bbq food. To drink they have a coke machine that lets you pick the hundreds of different combos. A nice touch to the restaurant. Would I eat here again? I probably would if they run another bogo deal. But for 17.00 dollars for one meal I probably will pass. read more

Okay food and rather pricey. But, Dickey's is perfect for when you're short on time and need a real meal. If you're looking for top notch BBQ there are better options. But, if you're leaving work, want a hearty meal, and don't want to cook or wait for a table, this is a great option. The meats are, like any BBQ spot, the star of the show here. However, they can be hit or miss. The chicken is consistent and nicely seasoned. On my last visit, the pulled pork was fatty and lacked flavor, although it has been good in the past. The sides really leave something to be desired. Green beans had an odd spiced flavor and did not taste fresh. BBQ beans were unremarkable, and the roll was not worth the carbs. Sides are definitely Dickey's biggest area for improvement. At $17 for this 2 meat platter, prices are a little steep. Have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got to. Easy enough to order here on yelp. Had a great deal two dinners with 2 meats and two sides. Just $25 and all of that was ours. Food was ready early from the time they allotted. If we had had it fresh it may have been better. However it was all delicious. I don't know much about smoking meats or bbq places. I just know when I like how the food tasted. I had sliced brisket and polish kielbasa, Mac and cheese and potato casserole, and an addition side of bbq beans. All amazingly seasoned and smoky. Spent money on some extra corn bread, but it isn't worth it. Completely crumbled and fell apart. Ordered a cup of pickles that didn't make it in my order. I'm an essential worker, and with all that's going on with Covid-19, I really didn't feel like having to go pick up food for myself after work, so I decided to order delivery instead. I was in a huge mood for Barbecue, and there weren't really a ton of options as far as delivery goes - so I picked Dickey's out of a Yelp search, and ordered through the app as well. My delivery was dropped off in a timely manner, left at the door I'd instructed. I had ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich with mac & cheese and coleslaw as the sides. As far as barbecue goes, this wasn't absolutely the BEST, but it was still pretty good! I ordered their classic sauce which was pretty sweet, and as I ate it I could feel a bit of spiciness coming on. The only thing I didn't really like was how the barbecue came in a little container on the side, leaving me to have to mix it in with the meat on my sandwich. But alas, I think that's the downside to ordering delivery. Honestly I'd rather have a dry sandwich that I have to mix together myself than having it arrive all soggy like I KNOW it would have if it came all together. The mac & cheese was really nothing too mind-blowing either, but it was still pretty good - a little cold but I was able to heat it up and I ate the whole thing anyway. My coleslaw was fairly dry, but coleslaw is always super tricky to get right anyway so I wasn't too broken up about it. (Also, I am picky about my coleslaw.) Overall I really like the concept - leaning more toward a 'fast food' type of service with barbecue staples, it's nice for if you have a craving and there's no time to actually go sit at a restaurant. From any of my reviews you should know it is not my business to give completely negative reviews, but this one will be close. For the most part, the pulled pork had your average smoke taste, and the beef brisket was a cheap cut also very dry with no fat and no fat equals no flavor, which is why you buy marbled brisket. The best meat was the Jalapeño and cheese kielbasa very well done and should of made it a whole meal because I only got 3 small pieces. I was hoping for a homemade feel and taste of a Mac and cheese, but to be completely honest it tasted exactly like Stoffers Mac and cheese. Maybe it's cuz I just had amazing bbq at TSG in Elma the week before so I was unfairly comparing it but Dickey's to me was just passable bbq, decent but not great. The workers were very nice when I picked up my order. Everything was present and packed well. One big gripe was the portion sizes were pretty tiny. I got a 3 meat, 2 sides plate thinking it would be enough for me and my husband to split for a light lunch like we've done at other bbq places and it was pretty light. Everything tasted fine, the pulled pork, the mac and cheese, the corn muffin, the baked potato casserole were all okay but not great.The creamed spinach was pretty salty. The ribs were tender and juicy, very good taste, however a little pricy-$12.5 and were missing one free yeast roll, I found out that when back home. also enjoyed the sausage sampler but feel could get more meat out of it. I had not been back to Dickey's for almost a year for various reasons. The first visit underwhelmed with dry brisket, and there were other things to eat in the area. So I was finally lured back to Dickey's thanks to an email BOGO offer. Looking for a fast, convenient meal for two, I went in and ordered two 3-meat plates. As someone from Texas, I'm always up for good BBQ. So far, my favorite in the Buffalo area is Fat Bob's, but in Amherst, there is Dickey's, a chain restaurant from Texas. And like they do in Texas, a 3-meat plate is a choice of 3 different meats and 2 sides. When I went in to order at the empty Dickey's location (warning sign #1), I asked if they had extra moist brisket. In Texas, when you order brisket, you can ask for moist or extra-moist cut which determines the fat content and therefore the juiciness of the meat. The young man taking the order stared blankly and replied with something like, "our brisket is very moist" which was warning sign #2 since he didn't know the terminology. I explained to him that I had a really dry brisket previously so I really wanted something moist and juicy. He said he would be extra careful and cut a really good piece of brisket for my orders. The young lady at the counter who took the sides order glowered at me, that facial expression of "I really don't want to be here and I hate my job." I gave her my sides order and she slapped the little containers together like ice cream. Part of the BOGO deal was that you had to buy 2 drinks - and I was surprised that drinks were almost $3 a piece, but $21 for two not so large 3-meat plates, if not a "deal" was still okay to lure me back to try Dickey's again. When I got home, I cracked open the to-go box. So far so good - the plate looked fine though the portions were stingy. Finally, the test taste. Why, oh why can't they make moist brisket? Dry as a mummy with a jerky crust, it was practically inedible. The sausage was fine. The pork ribs were actually pretty good (Dickey's does have a rib plate). The creamed spinach was fine, as was the very yellow potato salad (so yellow that it looked identical to the mac and cheese container beside it). Verdict? I won't go to Dickey's for brisket - sorry, even with a BOGO deal, that was 1/3 of my food that was dry. Ribs were good. Sausage good. I don't think Dickey's in Amherst has captured Texas style BBQ yet - franchise or not - and I suspect it's because they don't have enough customers, so they are leaving the brisket cooking far too long. read more

This is a good option if all you have time for is fast food and you want something different! The meat is really good. I had the brisket and jalapeño cheddar kielbasa. You add the barbecue sauce to your food after you get it. The spicy barbecue sauce had a nice kick to it without being overpowering. The sides are really underwhelming to be honest -basic cafeteria food that sat awhile under warmers is what the sides taste like. Our two meat plates came with two sides and a dinner roll, yet there is no butter or anything for the rolls. I will personally go back, yet I would just order 1/2 lb of the meat and forget about the sides and roll. Next time you only have time for fast food, give this place a try. The floors are sticky and black, the tables were filthy and we came in at 11:25 and they open at 11:00. The only employee in there never greeted us. Why is this place so filthy this early in the morning. Dust was everywhere. There's no way that amount of dust accumulated over night. Food in the chairs. Still loving the meat... I mean who doesn't love meat? Ok well, some don't, so if you aren't a carnivore, you might wanna skip this joint cause it's all about the meat. Stopped in for some fast sandwiches after a final round of after Xmas shopping, and was thrilled as usual with this restaurant. The fresh brioche-style buns combined with meat pulled from the smoker and chopped while you wait, and you get to sauce it to your heart's content. Its practically food porn.... I've driven by here many times always meaning to stop, especially after reading some reviews. So one day I stopped in. I lived in Texas and down there BBQ is a serious game. When I walked in and saw they had brisket I asked the standard question, "Y'all got any burnt ends?" Normally this question leads to puzzled looks but the man behind the counter knew exactly what I was talking about. He said that they had some but not too many. For those of you who don't know what burnt ends are, educate yourself! I ordered the combo meal with brisket and 2 sides, one of which was Mac n Cheese. The brisket was superb, it had that great smoky flavor, the texture was perfect. The sauce wasn't too overpowering, and they served it on paper on a metal tray!
