Came here about 45 minutes before closing to grab a beanie. Was greeted upon entering the store and asked where I could find the Carhartt beanies. The associate was very helpful in pointing me in the right direction. However even though it said multiple colors at low stock in store, I only found two beanies. Granted the associate warned me it was low stock but I didn't expect it to be this bad. Found a St. Patrick's day themed beanie and went with it. Thanks to the Dick's employee who thought it was a good idea to swap my Meta glasses with the display pair, I now officially have trust issues with Dick's Sporting Goods. I ordered Meta glasses for same-day pickup. I was in a rush when I picked them up, so I didn't inspect the box until I got home -- that part was my fault. At first I assumed maybe the glasses just come in a different type of box, but once I opened it, I realized something was off. There was no charging case, and instead the glasses were stuffed into a cheap cloth case. Big red flag! I examined the glasses closely and saw the words "Not for sale." I was so mad! I had paid $400 for the Meta Wayfarer transitional glasses, only to end up with a display pair. I've been a loyal Dick's customer for years, I can't believe I got scammed! I drove all the way back to the store and calmly explained what happened. The male employee helping me was shocked but very helpful. The manager said it looked like an employee may have swapped the glasses and that she would be checking the cameras. She offered to order it for me, but I wanted it the same day so I opted for a refund. Now I'm down $400 until it gets refunded on my card. I ended up purchasing an authentic pair at Macy's instead. I had a very disappointing experience at this store. I went in to buy a FIFA World Cup soccer ball that was clearly marked as being 50% off (or 30% off). However, when I got to the cashier, I was told there was no discount on the ball. I politely asked to speak with the manager because the sale sign was confusing and I wanted someone to explain it. Instead of listening to my concern, the cashier, Michaela, simply said the sale applied to a different ball. Before I could explain what I was trying to say or ask another question, she walked away while I was still speaking. She said, "I already explained it to you," and left. I wasn't upset that the ball wasn't on sale--I was disappointed by how I was treated. A little patience and respect would have made a big difference. Michaela didn't try to understand my point of view and came across as very rude and dismissive. Because of this experience, I don't plan to shop at this store again. read more

Mixed feelings for sure. Was in search of a new hybrid bike. Nothing special just looking for a good company at a good price. Dick's just happened to be having a sale on their Schwinn bikes so purchased one. The people who work in the bike section were very nice and I got phone calls with updates on when the item will be ready. Once I got upstairs I got the bike very quickly, but before that had to read and and answer some questions on a tablet. Which is not an issue. What was an issue? Tablet asked - was I provided with a manual. I was not until I had to inquire about one and then they had to look around for one. I also had to ask about the return policy which is very unrealistic - You have 24 HOURS to return a bike. Yes 24 HOURS! Took the bike home and realized that the front break pad was stuck on the wheel. I called this location a couple of times and never could get ahold of customer service, so ended up calling another Dick's location that answered right away. Even this location was vague with their information - I asked what is the policy on getting things fixed? Rep said "Dick's tries to take care of their customers". I asked a couple more times expecting an exact timeframe on how long I have to get items fixed that were incorrectly installed by Dicks. No such luck. Thankfully my partner was able to fix the bike. As many people have mentioned - this is a risky purchase where it is known (from reviews) that assembly is often not done correctly. With that said for standard items Dick's is ok, but for larger purchases or if assembly is required I would go somewhere else that has a better return policy. read more

So my beautiful wife and I went in to to find and buy one specific item. The mini Hydro Flask bottles. We found what we were searching for, but one of the bottles had a dent on it. Naturally we asked our cashier if they had anymore bottles in that color, they found another one; but it was actually in worse shape. So we asked if we could get a small discount, the manager had a nasty attitude and was like, "Nope, no discount, either you buy it or don't." I mean I had every intention of buying it, and did; but let's just say she gets a zero in people skills. Customer Service: Zero Quality of Product: 9/10 Overall: I wouldn't go back, because let's face it, this store is overrated, overpriced and really isn't anything to write home about. read more

We visited on Saturday, February 22, 2025 around 4pm. The parking lot was busy, but there was still parking. They have a private lot shared with the shopping center. The store is huge. There are 2 levels. Upstairs has swim wear, golfing equipment, Yeti coolers and cups, and lots of SF Warriers and 49er gear. If you are looking for a gift this is the place to go. Downstairs they have clothing separated by brand. They have a large selection of soccer Jerseys from all different teams around the world. They even have their local team the Roots, who are located in Oakland. They even have a batting cage you can rent out by the minute. 15 minutes for $15, and so on. It appears that you bat from a tee not a machine. They had a large selection of bats in the batting cage. No one was using it while we were in there. They also have a glove steamer. I'm not sure if you need assistance to use it or it's on your own. I saw one couple using it when we walked by. Socks were buy 1 get 3 free when we were there. Mostly they were winter/Christmas fuzzy socks. A great deal, but I don't need anymore stuff. Overall, the store was a mess. Stuff was everywhere. You'd think you found a sale rack because everything was hanging on it all mismatched, as it turn out those are go back racks. I wonder if you go first thing in the morning would everything be put away and more organized? If you aren't shopping for anything in particular then this is the store for you. I've tried shopping here 4 times. First 2 times, about a year apart, I needed a study pair of athletic strapped sandals and a pair of firm arch support flip-flops for the summer season. The mid to late 40s salesman in the men's shoe department was rude, curt and I guess didn't like serving senior citizens. On my first visit there, I had to wait about 30 minutes for him to finish waiting on 2 teenage boys with there mother's. The second mother and son had come into the department about 10 minutes after I arrived. When I objected that I was next, the salesman claimed they were ahead of me. When I finally got my turn to be helped, he did so with a unpleasant attitude and it turned out neither the sandals or flop-flops I needed were in stock. On my second visit to the shoe department I encountered the same rude salesman. After waiting about 15 minutes for him to finish helping another teenage boy and before his next teenage customer I asked if the pair of black Adidas Air Monarchs on display were in stock in my size, as I wanted to know if it was worth waiting. He yelled at me with a loud no. My take away is the salesman is more interested in waiting on teenage boys. The third trip to this store years later was to the camping goods department. That netted no help to answer some questions and therefore no sales. I walked out emty handed. The fourth trip to the store to buy a set of Adidas gym shorts and a shirt was just as frustrating. There is no understandable logic to finding a matching set of gym shorts and shirt. The shorts were in one place and the shirt was about 45' away. I finely found the location after searching all over the store and purchase the set I wanted. From the time I entered the store to the time I left took way too long at 50 minutes. All I want is to get in, find what I want, pay for my purchases and leave. Not going to shop here again! read more

I like that the employees don't constantly ask you, "find everything ". I enjoy just shopping and not feel like I'm being followed or asked a bunch of questions. When I do need help its hard to find someone. In the fitting rooms, I push a button that's supposed to signal an employee to open the door and no one comes. Today I walked in to grab my daughters Easter gift. I was buying catchers gear for her and had no idea what I was looking for. Jordan was a huge help! He guided me in the direction to the fast pitch softball gear after learning my daughter was in softball. He explained the difference between baseball and softball catchers gear. The item I ended up wanting was no longer available at this location but Jordan took the time to call another store and make sure they had it, after confirming that they had it he requested they put it on hold for me! This place has the youth shin socks that I was looking for for Jenbert Jr.'s soccer practices. Reserving merchandise online and doing curbside pickup is super fast and easy. They were good about doing a return when I got a bad pair that had only one sock and was not the size advertised on the bag. The prices, too, were better than the soccer merchandise being sold by Jenbert Jr.'s soccer league, which is why we came here to begin with. read more

It gotten even worse over time. I pretty much stopped relying on Dick's for any fishing tackle. I can never find what I need. Can't find the hooks or weights that I need. Their selection is really poor. Lately, I have only been coming to Dick's for bait: warms, sardines, shad, anchovies. Well, I came on Thursday and their refrigerators were basically empty. There was nothing but dirty empty fudges. Do managers ever look inside those fridges? At least clean them if you have nothing to put inside! Why is it so hard to keep the inventory at this store? Why do you have a huge store and you can't even restock things? The management of this store really needs to get fired. They completely ran it down. And as far as service, I couldn't even find anyone on the fishing/hunting side. Not a single person. Eventually I found one person upstairs, but I saw a bunch of service people just hanging out downstairs and doing nothing. I predict that this store will get closed down pretty soon. I have yet to have a positive experience in this store. Lines are often long. I avoided it for years, but thought we'd give it a try. They never seem to have what we need/want and often up going home to order correct item or size online. Recently went in and some kid measured my daughter's feet and they told us they didn't have the shoe she wanted in her size. So again, went home and ordered it. Well the shoe was too big. He sized her wrong. My bad, deleted my email receipt. Went to store to try and return with my credit card/look up. They couldn't find it. So I left and went home. Found the box with order # on it. Went online and printed an in-store return authorization. Went to store and they told me it was expired. No where on the code does it show an expiration. Young woman helping me was so confused. Said there was no order number on it. I showed her where it clearly said "order number." She asked for my receipt. I told her I didn't have it but I had the return slip. She then told me she could give me $49.99 on my $100+ shoes. I said no thank you. So then she goes to a manager who said "either it's expired or they've already been returned." And walked away. Woman followed him asking what she should do and he just repeated himself. I was like the shoes are right here they were not returned. He literally just turned away. She handed me the shoes with a confused look. No apology. No offer to help figure it out. I left in an admitted huff letting them know they are useless. Won't be back. read more

Outrageous Customer Service Experienc I cannot believe the horrendous customer service I experienced at Dick's Sporting Goods while picking up two kayaks I ordered online. This was a complete disaster from start to finish! When I arrived, I was met with a long line, and after what felt like an eternity, I finally reached the counter. Sonia, the associate assisting me, treated me like I was an inconvenience. When I said I was there for an online pickup, she brushed me off and told me to wait to the side. Is this how you treat paying customers? After waiting, I asked her if she could check if I could choose a different color from the selection listed online. I was just trying to help save everyone from the hassle of moving heavy kayaks only to find out I couldn't get what I wanted. But Sonia's response was nothing short of rude. She told me the kayaks were upstairs and that I could check myself. When I asked her to assist me, she snapped back, insisting I wait for someone else. At one point, when I inquired if I was supposed to wait on the side from the beginning, she had the audacity to snicker and say, "yes." I kept my cool, but her attitude was infuriating. After a long wait, the same kayaks I originally ordered were brought down without any indication of other color options. I felt utterly forced into taking what I didn't want simply because Sonia couldn't be bothered to help. When I asked for Sonia's name to file a complaint, she screamed it at me like I was a child. I had to tell her how unprofessional her behavior was, and all she could do was yell back that she didn't care and didn't have to do anything for me. The level of disrespect was unreal. After all of this, I simply wanted to leave. As I walked out, ignoring Sonia's screams, a police officer came after me due to a false complaint made by her! As a Mexican, this was particularly frightening and humiliating, especially with the current climate of immigration laws being pushed heavily in the Bay Area. The fear of being treated unjustly is all too real, and I had to endure this simply because Sonia wanted to exert control. After a thorough check, the officer found absolutely no reason to detain me and let me go. This entire situation was not only embarrassing but completely unnecessary. The officer agreed that Sonia's handling of the matter was appalling. It's clear that Dick's Sporting Goods doesn't live up to the premium prices they charge for sporting goods. The service I received was no better than what you'd find at Walmart, yet I paid significantly more for the products. Sonia needs to be reprimanded for her unprofessional behavior and the chaos she caused. And to top it all off, I realized I walked out without those sunglasses I originally wanted to buy! I guess when it comes to customer service, my vision got a little cloudy! I am outraged after spending a significant amount of money on two kayaks, only to be treated like a criminal and disrespected at every turn. I expect Dick's Sporting Goods to take this feedback seriously and to respond with an apology and appropriate compensation. This is unacceptable and should never happen to anyone! read more

I would not advise going here if you have a time constraint, if you do you will be disappointed. Some of the staff is unmotivated and service can be slow, however, sometimes it can be a lot for them as well - for example the shoe section can get crazy with the amount of people that come in. If you don't have the expectation on immediate service, it can overall be a pleasant experience. I have gone here myself, had no issues with returns or pricing, and I also have taken family members to stock up before trips. read more

Amazing service! I had an online order for 2 golf gloves (for a beginner's golf class) but they were different sizes. The employees here helped me by taking it back and allowing me to look for an exchange. Since I couldn't find a matching pair, they gave me a gift card instead and recommended me to Golf Galaxy instead, where the Dick's credit card and gift cards work as well. I mentioned that online orders are probably not great, and they agreed, recommending me to shop in store next time, and I gladly will! Also, while I was upstairs searching for my exchange, a different employee helped me search as well. And at the cash register, there were 3-4 people helping me. People typically don't use 2 gloves for golf but I wanted to as a personal preference. I am a beginner and I thought that wearing only 1 glove might feel awkward, maybe? They're not meant to be sold in pairs, but the employees here helped me a lot with that! So I ended up not actually getting anything from here, except money to use at Golf Galaxy. But of course, Dick's always has good products and the service here was stellar. The online order mistake was not the fault of anyone that works at this location - it was beyond their control, as it was shipped to them. The fact that they fixed it is what makes them deserve my 5 star rating, in my opinion. Honestly I wasn't happy about having to drive here twice in a day but like I said, that was not at all their fault. Yeah, it is expensive. I used to come here and sometimes I could find a good softball bat for my team but they don't even have that anymore (kids bats mostly now). The baseball/softball gear is expensive for sure - so are the athletic shoes upstairs. I have bought some camping stuff here and that's mostly why I come to this place at this point if I do come here. Everything else, like I say, is more expensive here than you'd find anywhere else.
