DiBella's Subs is a go to lunch place every time I find myself in the Albany area. Good and hearty subs with delicious "everything" bread. Service is generally quick and with a smile, but the ordering process can be a little confusing to a first timer. Plenty of seating in this location but it didn't seem like anyone was wiping down the tables during a busy lunch rush. Can't wait to have another sub soon! read more

I ordered a medium meatball sandwich. It came with 4 meatballs which left the last inch or so of the sandwich with nothing but bread. There were 3 small strips of cheddar cheese and maybe a tablespoon of shredded parm sprinkled over the 10" sandwich, so it was sparse. There was absolutely no sauce on it too. I paid $17.49 for it. For another $2.49 I could have added extra cheese, but I thought that might be overkill. Apparently not, but I'm guessing I might have gotten one more thin strip of cheddar for checking that box. I understand the price of food is high, but I thought at $17.49 for a 10" sandwich I was paying enough to get a decent sandwich. The website is so un-usable, I finally stopped trying to get food here. It resets your order, mixes up coupons, doesn't save payment info, etc. You completely start from scratch every time you order. In the absence of my beloved Jreck Subs (Northern NYers know!) DiBella's is my go-to for a fresh and delicious veggie sub. HUGE portions for really affordable prices. I really like their varied veggie options that elevate a veggie sub from the boring lettuce, tomato, onion. By the time I'm done I basically have a packed salad on a sub roll (highly recommend the sesame rolls!) The only drawback is that their rolls are a bit too hard for my liking, by the time I'm done with a sub the roof of my mouth is all kinds of cut up. I haven't been to DiBella's in quite some time. Since we were visiting another establishment in the little strip mall, we decided it was time for lunch. Not wanting a big lunch with lots of carbs, I went for the salad. WOW. I should have taken a picture, but I dove right in. I ordered the Antipasto and it was a great choice. (It's the Godfather sub minus the sub roll.) The salad base is baby spinach and romaine lettuce. It is then topped with tomatoes, roasted red peppers and then banana peppers. I also asked for cucumbers. Next it is topped with genoa salami, capicola, spicy ham and cheese of your choice (provolone for me). All extras were plentiful. So much that I took half the meats home to top yet another salad. My only complaint had nothing to do with the food. If staff need to clean the air vents, why not do it when your close to closing so your guests don't have to view the crud in the vent. read more

I wouldn't consider this my favorite sub shop but it has good food at okay prices. Over the years I'd say my total visits to DiBella Subs has been around 5 or 6 visits. None of those visits have ever blown my mind away or made me go raving to my friends. My issues: - For being baked in house daily, the bread isn't so great. I've had better bread at a gas station sub shop. - The prices are decent for the amount you get but they make you buy your own pickle and the prices on everything else are pretty high compared to other places. - The distribution of toppings and meat are way off and placed in a weird way. I had to take my sub apart to get it correct. (See the pictures) If you're looking for a quick fast to get lunch and you're in the area, try it for yourself. The bread is the star of the show. You can tell that it is fresh, and it has a great heartiness to it that I don't get from Subway's breads. Another huge draw from me is the quality of the meat. When I do eat at Subway, I typically only get a veggie delight because I don't like the quality of Subway's meats. The meat at DiBella's was very flavorful and of a high quality. In terms of price, it's extremely competitive. My sandwich, which was not quite a foot long but had the heartiness and substance of a foot long (in my opinion) was $5.50. Not bad.
