He's a senior with senior issues, but also has sensitive skin (so he needs special shampoo) and Lyme, which makes his joints hurt sometimes. To top it off, we get him shaved down pretty short, which is not the usual cut for his breed. Kelly listened to all of the information that I gave her about Jack. She listened about the specifics about his requested cut. I picked him up and he was quite happy, and handsome. She did a great job and we look forward to our next visit.

After this last visit, I can't in good conscience bring my dog back. In my opinion, if you don't know how to cut a particular breed, you should say that. A Pomeranian has two coats, a course undercoat, and a thinner, softer overcoat, you can not take traditional buzzers to them and if you cut the overcoat below the undercoat, it cannot grow back because the undercoat is too dense. My pom was she cut down to a "lion" cut in the middle of winter, I'll accept some blame, my grandmother dropped her off and when the groomer called back an hour later to confirm the cut type she asked, "Lion cut, right" to which my grandmother replayed, "Yes, whatever we always get," while picking up groceries at ShopRite. She didn't know what a lion cut was, and I wasn't around to answer properly, but to shave a dog down in winter is cruel, she can't even walk around the house without a sweater now and she loves the snow. It isn't the first time she's been cut too short, I can only assume because buzzers are faster than scissors, but this is by far the worst, if her overcoat grows back at all, it will take over a year. Also, the one time I did pick her up instead of my grandmother it seemed like the groomer was teasing my dog and complaining that she was afraid of the brush. I get it, it can't be the easiest thing when the dog bites the brush, but don't make fun of my dog to me, I won't be on your side. She's my baby, my poor, cold, confused baby... I am sure with bigger breeds and easier coats this groomer does a fine job, but Pomeranians are just not their strong suit.

My dog felt at ease when he arrived and did not shiver which he has been known to do when I take him to the groomer. It seemed as though he felt at home. When I picked him up, he smelled nice including his breath, and looked happy. The grooming + anal gland expression cost was also very reasonable. The business owners are a couple and were very nice and attentive to my pet. We also received some homemade peanut butter treats which he (my dog) loved! They are soft and crunchy. They also sell some dog birthday cakes and treats. For nail cutting/clipping and filing the cost is $10. I suggest tipping for their services. Will be back.
