I don't even know where to start, but what I'll say first off is that we had a horrible experience here. We moved into town and were looking for a groomer. We stumbled upon this place and brought our dog here. When my husband was dropping him off, he was explaining to them what kind of Cut he wanted them to do. He said just a simple trim nothing too short. The woman looked at him and flat out, said "I have no clue what you want", And she called for somebody else to come over and yelled "This guy is asking for something and I don't know what he wants." - In a very rude tone. Mind you, we are brand new customers, this is our first time there. Our dog is a golden retriever and so he's the happiest dog you'll ever meet. Because it was our first time I called an hour later to check up and see what his status was and how he's doing. The woman that worked there (didn't get her name but she was a very tough and rude woman) was very mean as if I was bothering her when I called. I simply was asking for an update to see when my dog would be done, but she was not very polite. After picking him up, we noticed that he was not Himself. He was pulling us to leave. When we brought him home, he was very quiet and not his happy self. A month later we had another appointment booked and as we were walking close to the door We noticed our dog, pulling us the opposite way- He was basically telling us that he did not want to go inside. That was a huge red flag for me. I knew something happened during his first grooming Session And I'm glad we trusted our instinct the second time and didn't go through that door. Unfortunately This is not the first time I've heard of an experience like this from This place. 2 other friends who have dogs stopped going there too because of similar stories. I don't know what happens behind closed doors at Studio Groomers, But all I know is that if they treat humans like myself so mean and rude, then I can't imagine how they treat dogs. I am really concerned about this place and their staff. Please, if you're reading this be cautious before going here if you care about your pet. read more

I have tried several groomers in my area to mixed results, which is why I decided to go a little out of my way to try Studio Groomers after receiving a personal recommendation. Greg did a great job with my portie's lion cut, and she was done in 3-4 hours, which is faster then usual. I will 100% be back soon! read more

I wish I could give zero reviews for this groomer. Nothing is blended my dogs ears are completely chopped up. Greg has no idea what to do with a Yorkie he is completely rude and after four years with a beautiful Yorkie my pup has had two terrible haircuts BOTH from Studio Groomers. FYI he wears no mask. I expressed the disappointment of the first cut and showed a picture but Greg told us he had 14 dogs in today and basically deal with it. Never again, Montclair we have options and good people in our community-this is not one. read more

Started using Studio groomers about 9 months ago (June 2014). I find them to be very professional and the rates that they charge are in line with the quality of their services. I can't say enough positive things about Greg and Sharon. They truly love the dogs and give them gentle, caring attention, and of course, great cuts. I have been going to Greg for over 30 years, starting when I had my own Irish Water Spaniel. I have since had 3 standard poodles, all of which loved going to the groomer and looked beautiful when they came home! I am finally writing a review now (I should have done it years ago!) because I now have a dog that is a bit of a problem. She is a Moyen Poodle with a personality disorder. She shrieks every time and all the time she is away from me, but Greg still consents to take her in for grooming. For this, I award both him and Sharon gold stars for kindness! I LOVE this place. The owner used to work with my stepfather so we decided to try the place out. My bichon always gets tangled and a place we used to go to would just shave him without even trying to detangle. Over the past 6 months I've had my mini Schnauzer groomed 4 times at Studio Groomers. While I was satisfied with the cut, I was was not satisfied with their business sense. Each time I arrived for our 8:30 appointment the studio was closed. Often I along with other dog parents waited outside between 20-30 minutes for the shop to open. Also 2 of our 4 appointments were rescheduled because the shop owner had a last minute appointment out of town. I understand things happen but you need to reschedule 50% of my appointments!? I work full-time so I make my appointments 6 weeks in advance - so rescheduling for me is a major imposition. read more

I regret this place. It was weigh too pricey. For $60 they trimmed one of my dogs tail and ears and left his facial hair uneven. Actually both of dogs facial hair was uneven. Im very disappointed. will not come back to this place. read more

Studio Groomers does a wonderful job grooming our dog. Unfortunately though, we won't be going back. We've used them consistently for 1 1/2 years and we are tired that we have to run our lives around their schedule. They open at 8am but forget about a close time. We never know what time they are closing. One time they called us at 2:30pm saying they are closing at 3:00 so come pick our dog. Wait....what? I need to leave my job and pick up my dog all within 30mins? Thankfully I work locally & have a wonderful boss, my husband on the other hand works in the city. Another time they called and again it was middle of the day and we had to pick up our dog within 30mins because they had theatre tickets. This habit continued every single time we had our fog groomed. The last straw was when I said I can pick our dog up either before 2pm or after 5pm. I absolutely cannot pick him up between 2 & 5. Of course I get a call at 2:20 saying our dog is done. I call and say I can't come until 5. I'm told well we are closing at 3. They also said they left a message with my husband an hour ago. Too bad my husband received a call from them at 2:10, which is not "an hour ago". In addition they had my phone and they knew I was the one to call, not my husband. Again wonderful grooming but they are not accommodating to their clientele's schedule. We as do many others have jobs and are not able to just drop things and run to get our dog in the middle of the day. read more
