We took our dog here randomly because we couldn't get an appointment at our regular before the holidays. I will say I was able to book an appointment quickly and obviously did not read the reviews. I asked for a simple bath, deshedding, and the usual ear cleaning. We have a mix with medium hair, not a malamute but not a pitty length. He was not matted, not was he shedding anymore than normal (not clumpy or undercoat). He has a gorgeous coat that we frequently get complimented on and is well taken care of. I took him out to get groomed in the afternoon and when I picked him up, I saw that he was chained to a grooming stand by himself with no more than 4 inches slack. I didn't think much of it at the time, since I know he doesn't go into a crate easily, paid and left. Upon getting home I noticed he smelled great and was clean. After a day I noticed he wouldn't eat and was flinching and whining when I would touch or pet him. I rushed him to the vet thinking something was seriously wrong. After spending over $1200 at the vet for an exam, testing, and multiple pain meds, we realized that he had been brushed so hard on his back that they tore skin. After a couple days, and now 2 weeks, he has a HORRIFYING amount of LARGE scabs up and down his spine from the very top of his head to the base of his tail. We concluded that this was from the deshedding brush. There are no scabs on his stomach or sides so I cannot show photos and because he is black, they're nearly impossible to see when I try to photograph. I cannot bear the fact that my sweet boy was brushed so hard for god knows how long that he was bleeding and in pain. This was not a mistake that went unnoticed. This is pure animal cruelty and they are honestly lucky I am not pressing charges. They should not be allowed to touch another animal. Lord knows what else goes on behind closed doors. Please do not take your babies here. I am devastated for my boy.

I am extremely disappointed with Joline Pet Spa & Boutique and feel compelled to share my terrible…read moreexperience. I took my dog, Blu, here for grooming on 12/13. Later that night, I noticed he was squinting his left eye and barely opening it. I waited two days, hoping it would improve, but it didn't. When I called to express my concern, the lady at the front desk showed little to no empathy. All she said was that it wasn't their fault and that I should take him to the vet. She also mentioned I could come in to view pictures and videos. Hoping Blu would improve, I ordered an antibiotic cream and waited. A week later, when his condition didn't get better and he was clearly in pain, I called back to express my worry and frustration. This time, the lady at the front desk was extremely rude and dismissive. She repeated, "It wasn't us, there's nothing I can do to help you. Take him to the vet or come in to see the videos." I decided to visit in person. Upon arrival, I wasn't greeted. The front desk lady just walked to the back to get the manager. When the manager came out, she pulled out her iPhone, showed me a photo of Blu, and said, "When he left here, both eyes were open, so it wasn't us." I explained again that Blu wasn't like this before his grooming. I asked to see the video, and she said it was an hour long and asked if I had time to sit there and watch it. I asked her to send it to me instead, and she refused, citing that other dogs were visible in the video. The lack of accountability was astounding. I asked her, "If I get into a car accident and my back starts hurting the next day, does that mean the accident didn't cause it because the pain wasn't immediate?" She brushed off my concerns, saying she's been doing this for 15 years and that if they had caused the issue, it would've been immediate. After 4 years of bringing Blu here, I felt like just another customer. No empathy, no accountability, no effort to make the situation right. I told her I wasn't asking for money--just some compassion during a difficult situation. Instead, I was met with defensiveness and dismissiveness. I finally took Blu to the vet, and the doctor said his eye issue likely happened during grooming--possibly from shampoo getting into his eye, unsanitized scissors, or rough handling during trimming. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They're only interested in collecting your money and returning your dog after a haircut. If you care about your pet's safety and well-being, take them elsewhere. If anyone has questions about my experience, feel free to reach out.

Dear Management,…read more Thank you for responding to my complaint, although I must express my disappointment that it took several weeks to receive a response. Such a delay is neither acceptable nor reflective of the level of professionalism I would have expected. To begin, if you intend to rely on surveillance footage as part of your response, please ensure that you are reviewing the footage from the correct date. I take accusations that question my honesty or integrity very seriously, and I was disappointed to read statements in your response that appeared to suggest my concerns were unfounded. Making such assertions without clear evidence is inappropriate and could be viewed as damaging to my character. My husband and I contacted your organization as soon as we noticed the bald spots on Ace. When we picked him up after his grooming appointment, his coat had been fluffed and styled, making it difficult to immediately notice the affected areas. Once we discovered them, we reached out simply to understand what had happened. We were not seeking a refund or discount--we were looking for an honest explanation and accountability. My review was never intended to harm your business or its employees. It was an honest account of my personal experience and was written to make your organization aware of our concerns while also allowing potential customers to make informed decisions. Every customer has the right to share a truthful experience, whether positive or negative. I respectfully request that you provide me with a copy of the surveillance footage you referenced, as I remain confident that Ace's condition was the direct result of the grooming service he received. For your reference, I have attached photographs clearly showing the bald spots that appeared after his appointment. What has been most disappointing throughout this experience is not only the condition in which my puppy was returned, but also the lack of empathy, accountability, and professionalism demonstrated in your response. As pet owners, we place an enormous amount of trust in those we choose to care for our beloved companions. That trust was broken, and your response has only reinforced our disappointment. I sincerely hope that you will reconsider how customer concerns are handled in the future. A willingness to listen, communicate honestly, and accept responsibility when appropriate goes much further than dismissing a customer's experience. Sincerely, Karina K.

I don't even know where to start, but what I'll say first off is that we had a horrible experience…read morehere. We moved into town and were looking for a groomer. We stumbled upon this place and brought our dog here. When my husband was dropping him off, he was explaining to them what kind of Cut he wanted them to do. He said just a simple trim nothing too short. The woman looked at him and flat out, said "I have no clue what you want", And she called for somebody else to come over and yelled "This guy is asking for something and I don't know what he wants." - In a very rude tone. Mind you, we are brand new customers, this is our first time there. Our dog is a golden retriever and so he's the happiest dog you'll ever meet. Because it was our first time I called an hour later to check up and see what his status was and how he's doing. The woman that worked there (didn't get her name but she was a very tough and rude woman) was very mean as if I was bothering her when I called. I simply was asking for an update to see when my dog would be done, but she was not very polite. After picking him up, we noticed that he was not Himself. He was pulling us to leave. When we brought him home, he was very quiet and not his happy self. A month later we had another appointment booked and as we were walking close to the door We noticed our dog, pulling us the opposite way- He was basically telling us that he did not want to go inside. That was a huge red flag for me. I knew something happened during his first grooming Session And I'm glad we trusted our instinct the second time and didn't go through that door. Unfortunately This is not the first time I've heard of an experience like this from This place. 2 other friends who have dogs stopped going there too because of similar stories. I don't know what happens behind closed doors at Studio Groomers, But all I know is that if they treat humans like myself so mean and rude, then I can't imagine how they treat dogs. I am really concerned about this place and their staff. Please, if you're reading this be cautious before going here if you care about your pet.

I've been bringing my cutie pie to this grooming establishment for over a year now, and…read moreunfortunately each visit seems to come with an attempt to upsell additional services. Almost every appointment includes recommendations for add-ons like deshedding shampoo, which increases the overall cost. Today's visit was especially disappointing. I was told for the first time my dog has dry skin and they proceeded to point it out, though it wasn't clear what solution they were leading into--possibly another added service or product recommendation. Then I was told my dog had "a lot of matting" underneath her undercoat. They showed me the area, and honestly, it did not appear severely matted at all--nothing noticeably different from what she's had during previous grooming appointments with them. The owner continued explaining they weren't sure how long brushing would take before shampooing and because of that there "may" be an additional $25 charge. The uncertainty around the pricing was frustrating. I came in expecting a simple shampoo and haircut, but was quoted $115 with the possibility of additional charges depending on brushing time. The owner even suggested I take my dog home, brush her myself, and bring her back--which I found surprising. On top of that, I was told pickup wouldn't be for another 4 hours. To me, that feels excessive and seems tied to taking on too many dogs at once. If my dog is already staying for that amount of time, I struggle to understand why there may still be extra charges added. What's most disappointing is the amount of surprise fees and added services, especially as a long-time loyal customer. Every pet owner I've spoken with--many with the same breed--typically spends around $60-$70 for grooming. Also during our conversation another customer came in and waited with his dog , when clearly on their door it says one customer in store at a time . The owner should have made that clear as I felt uncomfortable all while another customer stands there listening in. Upon my arrival, there was another customer there with his dog and I patiently waited outside Needless to say, just be aware that during visits, additional services may be recommended that can significantly increase your final bill. -- A disappointed loyal customer
