Great burgers done well (or medium rare, perfectly)! Our work group decided to revisit this burger spot from our visit last year. We sampled a variety of burgers including the Mushroom-Swiss, Roasted Red Pepper, Pesto-Mozzarella, and Kobe Beef. All were excellent. I order medium-rare which was pink and juicy. The potato fries are the bomb (especially with garlic), as were the sweet potato fries. BTW - The fries were NOT in a batter. We left happy and full - in a good way :)! Thursday, 5:30 PM - Service was top-notch. We were promptly seated and orders taken. Burgers and fries came out hot and crispy minutes later. Unconventional dining experience, nobody was in the dining room to seat us, but when our server came out, she was very pleasant and got us seated and our drinks ordered. The dining room ambiance was acceptable, but mainly geared towards wine drinkers. I ordered the kobe burger medium rare, my wife had the regular burger. The burger was absolutely outstanding. Definitely one of the best burgers I have had. My wife and I are locals and have eaten just about everywhere, this place as far as burgers go is in the top 2. My Mom, Stepdad, and I took a trip to the gold country for the weekend and wasn't sure where to eat for dinner. My Mom looked on Yelp and found Diamondback Grill as the top suggestion and we all decided we wanted to check it out! Right when we got there, we were seated immediately. The decor inside the restaurant is old-timey and awesome. I felt that I was transplanted a few centuries back. Service was great too! All of the girls working there were so sweet, friendly, and accommodating. My Mom and Stepdad are on the keto diet. The waitress was aware of this and was able to make changes to the items they ordered, which was greatly appreciated. Our food took a little long to come out but granted, it's a Saturday night. I ordered the DB Grilled Marinated Chicken Breast Salad with dressing on the side and no tortilla strips. Although our waitress was able to accommodate our requests some of our food was missing some of the items. It wasn't a big issue and we were able to get it fixed right when we notified them. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the portions are humongous! All three of us left with leftovers. Diamondback Grill was a great stop for dinner, and I'm glad we chose it. How did we get here? My wife is really good at reading through Yelp reviews and spotting key expressions to identify a gem on the list. She found this grill. We all agreed to try it. We were greeted at the door immediately by Allison. She was very nice and professional and took us to our table and asked us questions almost immediately. This is the old-fashioned kind of customer service with a smile. We loved they saved the turn of last century look of the place, yet it was fun and upscale. Even the staff in matching tee-shirts and Daisy Dukes looked happy to be here. I would say by how busy they were said a lot. And the turnover was fast without being pushy. The food was filling, good portions, well made, and had eye appeal. I opted for the Asian Babyback Ribs. I thought they were larger than babyback but hey! The meat was perfect, plentiful, and falling off the bone. YUM ! ! ! They allowed me to switch from fries to a salad for my KETO diet easily. TY for not making me beg. My husband and I had a great time tonight at Diamondback Grill! Very relaxed atmosphere, and you can tell just being inside the building how historical it is. Was quickly seating and brought our drinks; I had a cider, my husband and a beer. For starters we got the panko Brussels sprouts which were very tasty and served with ranch. For our main course, I had the French dip and my husband the pulled pork bbq sandwich. Both were very delicious and unfortunately pics weren't taken because we were just that hungry. My husband and I are both trying to get healthier. We went there for salads and it was terrible. The ceaser dressing was very watery, the salad wilted. The only decent thing about it was the grilled chicken. I am so disappointed that we spent $50 for terrible salads. We also had to ask for water refills. The Chicken Parmesan did not give much detail in the description and when I got it the sauce was full of onions and the pasta was penne rather than the traditional spaghetti which as I said wasn't listed. I've been a patron since they were in a tiny shop (they are now in a huge restaurant) and the expansion never affected the amazing service or the quality of the food. Located in the small but very quaint town of Sonora, this is a must-stop if you're heading back to the bay area from Stanislaus or vice versa! Street parking is readily available. There was a group of 12 of us, and the service staff were all so accommodating. They quickly moved tables and chairs together and the waitress was amazing to split the check for us individually! I ordered the guacamole burger with jack cheese and a north coast stout. The beer was only $4.50 and it tasted so great after a 3 day backpacking trip. The burger was delicious and cooked perfectly. There were so many condiments packed in there from mayonnaise, onions, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole. They didn't skimp out on any of it! The only thing I must say was that the fries seemed like they were either fried too long or the oil they used was old because it was too dry for me. Came here after a day in Yosemite. Food was pretty good, but a little expensive. We got the Asian Style BBQ Baby Back Ribs and the meat was really good. It fell off the bone extremely easily and was very tender. The sauce could definitely be improved though; it tasted like a generic sweet Asian sauce. The fries were subbed for onion rings which were also good but nothing special. We also got the Fish & Chips which were pretty standard. There were a lot of fries that came with it.
