Their pesto mozzarella burger! SO good
    Sarah B.

Good GRACE if I could give this place 6 stars I would. Everything on their menu is soooo dang good and I've tried just about everything. This time we had some wine as well cups of chili- very meaty and good! I LOVE getting the pesto mozzarella burger with garlic fries but an honorable mention I do also love to get is their salmon sandwhich on an English muffin. It sounds like an odd combination but it's delicious! Don't knock it until you try it! The service is always wonderful the servers are evenly distributed throughout the restaurant and so sweet and able to take care of your section and make sure you have everything you need! Very remarkably great service! The vibe here is busy!! It's the perfect place to have dinner the restaurant has two entrances I suggest parking behind it in the free parking lot so that you can go through the back door, unless you want to try and find somewhere downtown. Given it is so busy it is very impressive how they manage to get to your table and make sure you have everything you need no matter what!! We will DEFINITELY be back! And I can't wait!! So yummy!

Lunch on Sunday was perfect for a get together with friends and their young children. Diamondback had options the little ones enjoyed and the staff were so gracious and helpful with Hugh chairs, coloring material, and family-friendly options. The food was delicious and didn't take long at all. Diamondback is definitely a favorite for giving visitors to the area good food, quality service, and a nice atmosphere. Get the sweet potato fries and I highly recommend either a classic diamondback burger or the BLT! Garlic fries aren't messing around, they are seriously garlicky and quite delicious.

lively restaurant located in the heart of downtown sonora...building appears historic...exposed brick and plaster...old signs of a possible pharmacy/store in a past life...staff are cheerful and welcoming...menu provided...2 adults and 2 children...no kids meals...decided on chicken strips with fries $15.95...plain burger $17.95 and upgraded with sweet potato fries for $1 extra...decide to have the share the burger and chicken half and half...for the adults...took a chicken breast sandwich with soup $18.95 and other took a feta & cucumber salad with chicken $21.95...the burger was thick and decent...fries were plentiful and good...chicken strips battered thick and seasoned...bit too heavy...chicken breast was a bit dry, but overall a good sandwich...butternut squash soup was lightly sweet and creamy good...feta & cucumber salad looked quite good...portions are pretty big...food is decent...service is friendly...prices are fair...about $100 total after tax and tip for 4 meals...

We arrived at an in-between time, between lunch and dinner, and were seated immediately. We had a fantastic server, who gave a sincere and enthusiastic recommendation when I was torn between two dishes. We started with the brie salad with caramelized apples--an interesting combination. The apples had a dessert-like sweetness, which was odd/unexpected, but the add-on chicken was unbelievably moist and tender. Based on that, I'd highly recommend ordering chicken with any dish here! We also tried the fish and chips, which were perfectly crispy and not at all greasy and the teriyaki chicken sandwich, which was the server's recommendation and absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, the ambiance was wonderful. I especially appreciated the historical touches in the preserved walls and signage, which added so much character to the space. The menu and specials had plenty of tempting options, and prices were decent beside the steak, which was $41 I thought was a bit steep. I'm already looking forward to coming back to try the ribs with sweet potatoes and specialty lava cake with ice cream, cream, dessert plus, I couldn't help but notice other diners enjoying their dishes.

First, allow me to start this with saying the service is always great and the restaurant looks well kept. We've been eating here on and off for a few years, and honestly, Diamondback Grill isn't always consistent with their food quality. Not sure if the kitchen crew has a high turnover rate, but some of our past visits weren't wonderful. However, our food during our last visit was excellent! Their burgers are fantastic and their produce is fresh. I absolutely love their garlic fries. Keep in mind you'll have hot garlic breath for the rest of the day but they're worth it. If you're in the mood for a burger, Diamondback is the spot (as long as the kitchen crew is solid).

My husband and I tried the Bison Burger, it was our first time there and it came highly recommended. My husband likes his burgers medium well and it was a little too medium for me. Our waitress was so nice and said "I want you to be happy" so she took my half back and cooked it a little longer. The onion rings had the best batter so tasty and you just can't eat one or two! The little gal offered us a desert on the house, but we were stuffed. Thank you for the awesome service and friendly welcome to your cute little town with big hospitality!!! Oh I can't forget, a pint of Modelo was only $6 Best Buy for a Beer in California.

Amazing! Met all me and my dad's accommodations. Service was great and the staff was so nice. The restaurant itself had a wonderful atmosphere. The food was just delicious over all.

    Interior was really cool

I had read some amazing reviews of Diamondback Grill and really had high hopes. Overall, it was decent, a solid 3 stars. Arriving around 4, on a Sunday, it was fairly quiet but still had a steady stream of diners. It had a cool interior with a focus on Yosemite images and an exposed brick wall. Service was prompt and we were seated right away along with food arriving quickly. The food itself was good, not great. I ordered the portobello sandwich and the bun wasn't very well toasted and I've had better. The side salad it came with was nice, though, since they added some colorful carrots and tomatoes. Other places will just give you some mixed greens and call it a day. Overall, it was fine-just not super memorable somewhere I'd seek out to go again. People seem to love it-just didn't live up to all the hype for me.

We arrived earlier in the evening before the music started so we could hopefully grab a table. Thank goodness we did because the space filled up fast. It was so crowded it was hard to move around. From what I heard, they usually have the band outside, but since it was raining, they were crammed into the very small corner in the back. Aside from the space being tight, I had a good time. I don't drink beer, but they had other options for me to chose from. I particularly loved the boozy kombucha they had on tap. They ran out early in the evening, so I was only able to grab one, but it was really good. They don't serve food, but they allow you to bring outside food in. The staff was busy, but they were friendly and answered questions I had. Lastly, the sense of community amongst all the people there was obviously special. Everyone seemed to know each other, which is a cool thing to experience.

Their happy hour is DAILY from 14:00-16:00. The restaurant was pretty busy on a Sunday, but we didn't have to wait long for a table. Our server was attentive and friendly. For our cocktails, my friend went with the Huckleberry lemonade, while I went with the pomegranate whiskey sour. She thoroughly enjoyed her cocktail, and so did I. At that price point, I didn't expect much, but it was a solid cocktail, although not as strong as what I'd normally get elsewhere. The clam chowder sounded really good, and I couldn't help myself, so I ordered it. My friend is not a fan of seafood, so the chowder was all for me. The crostini was very nicely toasted and I loved dipping it into the chowder. I was also pleasantly surprised by the flavor and quality of the clam chowder. It was packed with a ton of clams, and was perfectly hearty without being heavy. We opted to share the fallen apple pizza, which was the perfect choice. The dough was pillowy and light, and the toppings delicious. I would have liked more apple slices, as it didn't seem like they were very prominent, and for the balsamic drizzle to be more uniform, but overall it was a solid pizza. I took leftover pizza home, and my husband enjoyed it for dinner. We heated it up in the air fryer and that was the way to go. While it was a little noisy in the restaurant, mainly due to a large group seated next to us, we still had a good experience, and the booth seating was comfy. I would love to bring my husband back to try more happy hour menu items next time we visit Sonora! The price point is seriously hard to beat, and Emberz is a solid spot for hanging out and having a good time.

We called to try to make reservations for dinner but were told they don't take reservations. No worries! We decided to take our chances on a Saturday night. First impressions were great! The location is very cozy with a few tables and a bar. I fell in love with all of the imported Italian food for sale in the market area. Authentic Italian pasta, wine, and treats? Don't mind if I do! Obviously the prices will be more than a package of Golden Grain pasta at the grocery store, but you are paying for the authenticity and quality. We were told that all of the items in the market are imported from Italy except for the gelato which is from Marin. We were lucky to have a table as they were packed when we arrived. Even though it was cold outside, there was one outside table available with a patio heater which really helped keep us nice and comfortable. We ordered the bruschetta which had the most flavorful tomatoes and herbs. We then tried the gnocchi in a pesto cream sauce. Being Italian, I'm super picky when it comes to gnocchi. Usually it is super tough and chewy in restaurants which is not how it should be. This gnocchi was super tender and light and the sauce was very light and flavorful. So delicious! For dessert we ordered the tiramisu which was seriously the best I have ever had. The servers were extremely friendly and efficient. Despite how busy they were, we felt taken care of and treated like family. The owner Sarah has struck gold again with Avellino. We can't wait to return! Buon appetito!
