I was a patient here for 2 years until last week. I came in because my contacts ripped while I was at work and needed an emergency pair to drive home in at least. I wasn't able to make an appt until the next day since I had somewhere to be, but asked if I could possibly have a trial pair just until I got a newer exam. (I've been wearing the same prescription anyway) They said no even after I explained I needed them to see to drive home and I don't have glasses to use. I still don't understand why they couldn't do this for me, I even offered to pay for the trial. Instead I had to risk driving home without being able to see clearly. I immediately changed optometrists offices to ACCESSOREYES down the street where the optometrist gave me a trial pair no problem after my exam, even though they didn't have the type I wanted. She gave me a trial pair of another brand while I wait for mine to come in. read more

This is a great place to go for an eye exam! I've come here a couple times and the staff has always been very friendly. Before coming here, my previous optometrist gave me the wrong prescription. After about five visits with not much success, I came here and they corrected it right away. They are attentive and I feel that I've been taken care of. I love this place I called to get an appointment was able to get a same-day eye exam.. The lady that answered the phone she was so nice and so pleasant . I got to the doctor's office they were able to take me right in ,Eye exam was easy breezy in and out . I didn't have to worry about that air being blown in my eyes the way that they do the exams and their customer service is outstanding! I was able to get my new prescription and my frames. I received a call the next week. EVERYTHING was just perfect the whole experience! Rude staff. Walked in looking for prescription safety glasses and the first question from the receptionist was how I was going to pay. Then when directed to another office worker to view the selection I was asked to present a prescription before being allowed to see glasses. Once I was finally showed some glasses, the office worker didn't seem to know much about the product and was condescending. No manners and no customer service skills. read more

I went to this place because of the good reviews on yelp. And it turns out that yelp did not disappoint me. The office is very elegant and clean. Dr Kau was very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. I am a very indecisive person, especially when picking out glasses. However, Ms. Li, the optical assistant, has very good taste in glasses. She and Dr Kau helped me pick out a very cute pair. I just found this place through my insurance but motivated by the reviews here on Yelp to try them out. I called this morning and got in right away, and within two hours had my exam, picked some frames and was on my way. Everyone was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and very helpful. Great location and very nice selection of frames. The best part, NO PRESSURE. Parking is always available behind the building and it is free! The employees and optometrists are friendly, thorough, and professional. I'm sad to report that Dr. Kao didn't effectively treat my eye infection. I came in with an eye infection--$60 bucks for an exam, and I can get drops, sweet. I was given drops, and a free pair of frames. The kicker it costs $70 bucks to get the prescription filled. Infection: The eye infection got worse after the medication given to me by Dr. Kao. I told her that it had spread to the other side of my eye. She told me that maybe I infected the bottle, and get the prescription she wrote me filled. I did, I still have the infection. She then told me that I can come in for more tests. I was like didn't you already do all of the tests? I was then told that she would refer me to an optomoligist and could not treat me. Ugh, so I've wasted over $150 bucks for nothing? All these people care about is your money, not if they help the patient. Sorry lady, but your opinion of doctors is not the one I trust after my eye got worse from the meds you told me to take. I then asked her for a real referral for insurance reasons--stating she couldn't treat the problem. Never heard back, I still have an eye infection. The glasses: So I come in all excited for my new glasses. I put them on, and I almost fell over the prescription was sooo heavy. I tell her this can't be right, I feel dizzy with those things. She's swearing it is, and to take them home, and try them out. I should mention that the woman at the front desk was condescending. Also, when adjusting my glasses she started a conversation with another customer--like small talk conversation, and left me sitting there while she chatted for ten minutes. Not even apologetic just plain rude. I had to come back again, because that prescription was way too strong for me. My friend put the glasses up to his face and was like WHOA! At the office the front desk lady told me, and not in a nice way, if the second prescription doesn't work I would have to pay to send them out for a third time. Anyhow, they didn't treat my problem, and I wasted my time and money with this place. On a side note--the other woman who works there that just adjusts the frames was cool, and helpful. read more

Diamond Vision Optometry has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They were prompt with the timing of my exam and answered all my questions. I was able to get both my new spectacle and new contact lens prescriptions for $99. The Dr. was professional and thorough. She was patient enough to test my eyes until i was absolutely sure i had found the right fit for my eyes. The only thing is that they forgot to email me a copy of my prescription which i'm sure will be righted in the next day or two. I highly recommend DVO for anyone who needs an exam. I went there recently for an eye exam. (I was looking for a place that took my insurance and that had high yelp reviews.) This may be a good place for buying glasses (I don't know) but the doctor did not instill confidence in me. I don't want to go into details of my visit, lest it give me away, but I will say that I am not convinced that I have the right prescription, the doctor could not adequately answer questions on claims she made, and I felt bullied into doing something I didn't want to do. read more

Dr. Tran is incredible-- she was so helpful for getting me get the exactly right prescription so that I could continue to use contacts, which was a tedious process that was handled with such grace-- beyond that, she is so personal, and after a year I went back for an appointment and she still remembered to enough specifics to ask about my job and travels-- so grateful for such a professional and kind eye doctor! read more

I used to go to the optometrist's near my old job in Korea Town (Eye Max), which I loved. Ever since I switched jobs, I had been looking for a more conveniently located optometrist, somewhere in the Pasadena area. I'm so glad that I found Diamond Vision! Diamond Vision is located on Lake Ave. and there is plenty of parking behind the shops. The optometrist is friendly and thorough. The assistant who helps you find your glasses and adjust them for your face is also helpful and congenial. There is a decent selection of frames at Diamond Vision. Granted, Linden has a wider selection, but their customer service is less than desirable and their prices are higher. I've worn glasses since I was a teenager and I'm not the kind of person that wants to hide in invisible frames. I love bold, funky, unique frames. Diamond Vision has a good enough variety and they have plenty of brands that I like. I tend to gravitate towards Italian designers for my frames, like Prada, Bulgari, and Dolce and Gabanna. The prices on all of their frames are clearly labeled (unlike Linden, where it's a total mystery what a particular frame costs, and you have to hunt down a Linden employee to tell you what the price is, and then try to remember which frame is what price, if you're debating between multiple frames). If you don't find frames that you love at Diamond Vision, you can always go elsewhere to get your frames, and have Diamond Vision make the lenses. I am glad I have vision insurance because glasses get expensive, no matter where you go. Once you start adding in scratch-resistant coating, polycarbonate or similar lenses to reduce thickness, and anti-glare coating, etc., the price begins to rise. Diamond Vision is definitely on the more reasonable end of eye exams and frames. read more

I visited the store about a month ago. It was my first time experience at the optical and I was looking for my first pair of reading glasses. Everyone at the store was super friendly and helpful. Dr. Kao was very friendly and helpful. As soon as I arrived I was instantly welcomed and I chat with basically everyone at the store before the exam, getting my new patient info and we breezed through the eye exam. I was very relaxed and comfortable. I was worried about my vision and dryness that I've had for a while but turned out that I have very slight vision change and my eye dryness can go away by constantly using lubricant eyedrops. They gave me the drops for free which I thought was a very nice thing to do specially for a new customer. :) I looked at their frames and glasses and they have a great selection of choices and styles. Price was moderate I'd say. And they will help you to pick the best ones that suits you fits you in every way. Everyone that I've talked to seemed very honest and professional about what they do which is a HUGE deal for me. Everywhere you go no matter where, you wanna go to places where they know about what they do and make you feel like you can trust them and are in good hands. To me Diamond Vision was a best experience in customer service and friendly professional atmosphere. I'd recommend this place to everyone who needs the best help in optical. Thanks again guys. Diamond Vision is the best optometrist I've ever been to. I called in at 9:30 am and they were able to schedule me in an hour later, but I couldn't come in until 1:30, so they slotted me in then. Since dealing with insurance can be such a hassle sometimes, the front desk receptionist was extremely helpful by telling me exactly what info she needed and taking care of the rest. Dr. Kao was very gracious, sweet, and knowledgeable. She was very thorough in her examination and also very patient with me as we went through all my options. The best part was that she was helping me look for cost cutting solutions. Since I'm still a college student, money is tight. Having an optometrist on "your" side who understands your financials is crucial when a lot of other optometrists care more about making money. Lastly, the optical assistant was so nice, as well. I have been with them for almost three years now and i love it !! Dr. Wu and his lovely team are awesome. I truly can't sing all the praise for the wonderful service they deliver. Myself and my mom have been going to Dr. Wu for the past 10 years. He treats us like her would treat one of us family members. When my mother needed eye surgery, he made the referral personally and followed up every step of the way throughout the surgery and the recovery. I can't forget to give a shout out to Jessica. Her smile and laughter will brighten your day. She knows clients by their name walking in the door. She loves what she do. She has the patience of a saint. I had an unfortunate experience with a DIFFERENT VISION CENTER in Pasadena where the doctor prescribed me the wrong lenses for my glasses and contacts and charged me fully without explaining what my insurance would and would not cover. Diamond Vision, however, spent time during my visit to make sure I had the correct prescription and even offered me a discount because they felt bad about my circumstance. I woke up one morning not knowing where my glasses were and completely out of contacts. I could barely see, more or less drive, so I decided to walk to the nearest optometrist. There were two nearby, but this one is about 25 dollars cheaper for a contact lens fitting. Plus the other place says they're open at 10 am, but they didn't answer their phones till 10:10 am, which I found annoying. And the yelp reviews says the other place's receptionist was nice, which I didn't particularly think so when i called. Anways, I called diamond vision and their receptionist was friendly and quoted me an accurate price over the phone, and was patient when I called again to figure out exactly which stores it was next to...Anthropologie. Dr. Kao was super nice, friendly, and professional. They're open at 9 am, which was a godsend considering the situation I was in. The office was quaint and clean.
