I have had to fill air in my driver's side rear tire twice. The first time, I thought it might have been because it was Winter, but the second time 2 months later, I knew it was time to get it checked. Dropped by Diamond Tire & Wheel on a Wednesday morning at around 9:15am. There was a car in the driveway with tire work being done. I let the person doing the work know I had a slow leak and he said he would look at it next. After a 10 min wait, he finished the car ahead of me and had me pull the car into the driveway. A few mins later, he had the tire off, showed me the nail in the tire, and about 10 mins later, he was putting it back on. Paid the small fee to patch up the hole and I was on my way. Great job! Something to know, there isn't a lot of parking. Pretty much one spot in front of the shop and street parking. I got a spot on the street when I first arrived. When I moved it to have the work done, two other people parked in the spot and waited a few mins and then moved on. Impatient, if they waited just 10 mins they would have been next! read more

Originally the car was towed there because a family friend recommended they look at it to see what's wrong. It was towed there Thursday and they called later in the day with a diagnosis. It was deemed not worth it for me to fix as the repair was $2600. I said to the main mechanic that I might try to sell it to Carmax, and he said they would most likely barely give me anything for it. I believed him and so I took his offer to buy it off me of $800. It turns out what he said about Carmax was in fact not true, they were willing to give me $2000 for it. So this mechanic intentionally gave me false information so I would let him buy the car instead of Carmax. Upon realizing this I called back the same day I had given him the title and said I would like my title back, and I will come bring the $800 back, because I realized I should have gotten more for the car. He refused and said it's too late because he already ordered a part for the car even though it had only been an hour since I had given him the title. I offered to pay for the part he ordered too and he still refused. read more

Came to Diamond Tires for a cheap used tire after getting a flat on the freeway. When I got there the tow truck left me in the front and no one was approaching me to ask how can I help you or greeting me... An employee with a beard saw me and didn't tell me "be right with you" or ask what I needed. After seeing me stand there for a whole 10min. I was just trying to make eye contact so I can ask prices and where to park. Not even on some annoying impatient behavior, just respectfully waiting. When I went around the other side of their shop to ask another employee who was just sitting in a customers car with the AC on .... He said someone should be in the front and when I told him no one was there he said he'll go tell them. Again,I was asking respectfully and patiently. But when I walked back to the other side the 1st bearded employee told his co worker in a LOUD VOICE "IF HES IN A HURRY TELL HIM HE CAN F*CK OFF." Knowing that I can't go anywhere with the flat and trying to use that to his power and talk however he wants disrespectfully knowing the customer HAS TO wait and if they get mad at him for speaking like that... the customer OBVIOUSLY CANT JUST DRIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE.... DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR! I stood staring at him down obviously upset bc I can't respond anything back to the RUDE remark or I'd have to find somewhere else to be towed if he refused service. Once he came to me he said "are you in a hurry?" And after I responded "No Hurry just need a flat fixed" ... he got to work. After starting the tire the bearded employee went on the phone and took his sweet time knowing I had to wait. He saw I wasn't being annoying and finished and rang me up normally and calmly. I needed to repair my tire immediately after work and even though I came near closing time, they were able to accommodate me and even went the extra mile to get the work done. Sometimes the prices change. The first time i went in the used tire was 30 the second time it was 40 and they insisted on cash claiming the credit card machine was broken. I went in the other day to get a tire fixed. The tech charged me 20 but insisted on cash and had me go to an ATM. They do good work though just those couple of issues. read more

I got a huge nail in my tire and showed up right at closing time and Alvaro was so nice he accommodated me anyway, proceeded to fix it instantly and also pointed out that someone else had only plugged a previous nail in the same tire so he offered to replace that with the sturdier patch as well and still only charged me for the one I came in for!! He also asked me to come back the next day to rotate my tires to put the tires with the most tread left in the front of the car. He didn't have to do any of this but he did. Made my day, thank you for going above and beyond even at closing time!!! I will be back if I ever need to purchase a set of tires. read more

I went here looking for some used tires this morning. This place is a little gem. I went here because of the good reviews on yelp. I was quoted $25/tire for a used set or $30/tire for a slightly better used set. He took me into his shop and showed me what he had available and let me pick out which ones I wanted. I opted for the $30/tire. I told him that I wanted 4 tires and he asked me to wait for a minute while he took my tires off. He asked me to come back into the shop again and he showed me the wear on my tires. He told me that only 3 needed to be replaced and he showed me the steel belts sticking out (high-five for me), but the rear right one was okay for another 10,000 miles. I also asked him if he could go ahead and change my oil while he was at it and he did. It was $40 for that which did seem a bit expensive, but he showed me that he only uses synthetic oil and good filters. I don't really know what the difference was, but he was an honest dude, so I took his word for it. Overall, it took about 45 minutes and $130. Another lady pulled up with a newer truck while I was there with some sort of quote from another shop for repairs. She showed him the paperwork and flat out told her she was getting screwed and it was a very minor problem and took care of it. I've been looking for a shop like this for a while and I am glad that I found it. I found them to be very nice and honest. read more

My new favorite tire/lube spot! So my front right tire was really showing signs of wear (metal things were showing). I found these guys on Yelp (and was also referred by a friend coincidently enough) and needless to say, the reviews are right, these guys rock! I went in at 1pm, explained to them the issue, they gave me a price and said come back in an hour (NICE!). Since it was ridiculously hot and I didn't feel like walking far, I noticed a couple little shops across the street that I went to go inspect. I perused a second-hand childrens clothing store (twinkle-twice or something); I picked the brain of the geek working at the tech repair shop (geeksters = I remember the name clearly as it was very unique)-which I will be taking a couple broken devices for them to fix in the upcoming weeks, and after that I had a quick bite to eat of some tasty pupusas at the el salvadorian restaurant (pupasas del valle), and by 2.15p I noticed my car was ready, so I went back paid, and happily left. The store is your typical tire/auto shop, although the parking is somewhat a pain (unless you get VIP driveway parking), the guys working there are very easy to talk with and nice. The prices are the lowest in the area for what they offer, and the fact that they are fast, seals the deal with me! read more

I was in need of a tire, the original place that "Supposedly" Got me a tire charged me $95 and said it wasn't un patchable. The only reason Why I said "supposedly" is cause he said he'd get it for me and the day I drop it off, He hits me up and hour after saying there was a mistake =( so I called around getting quotes $140, $135 $ 180. Are u Cray!!! Dangggg sooo expensive. After Searching the web I come upon Diamond Tires and I have to say It was soooo Worth it. I had a tire blow out driving home from the store and managed to drive the 1/2 mile home, but by the time I got there, the damage had been done. The tire was completely shredded. I spent the whole night worrying about how much it was going to cost me to get a new one. I brought it into these guys and 20 minutes and $20 later they had me set to go with a used tire. He even replaced the stem for me free of charge. Most of the places I've gone to over the years have tried to up-sell me on the best new model and, oh, while you're at it, why not just replace all 4 of them. New tires weren't even mentioned until I asked. The quote was easily $100 less than the Pepboys down the street (even with their buy 3, get one free deal). I've been having my tires serviced and replaced here for about 15 years and I never leave with that "what the hell just happened?" feeling I sometimes have after dealing with other auto repair shops. I've met Luis a couple times and he's always very nice & professional, but I always deal with Chico who is awesome. I have to come back soon to get my brakes and struts replaced. Something I already knew because these repairs are way overdue but Chico also advised me of after fixing my flat tire. No pressure. No hard sell. This place is great! I wanted some used tires for a car that was a project and didn't want to spend a fortune. They have tons of tires to choose from. I got tires for my 1966 VW bug and 2006 Chrysler 300. Chico is amazing! He knows what he is talking about. Fast and courteous. They also do mechanical repairs. I had such a good experience I recommended my friend. He was having transmission troubles with his 1994 ranger. They repaired it fast and the first time! Plus it was a couple hundred bucks cheaper than everyone else!!! I will be going back for all my auto repairs. read more

Great honest place to go. Called in the morning looking for 2 used tires with decent tread for as cheap as possible. Quoted me $60 mounted and balanced out the door. When I got there one of the tires was a Falken Ziex, which was supposed to be a $40 tire but he said since he quoted me $30 a piece he would do it for $30. 15 minutes later I was out the door for exactly what he quoted me, no upselling, no imaginary problems to milk more money out of me. Luis is the only only honest mechanic I have found in my many years in Los Angeles. The first time I brought him my car in 2008, he saved me $2000 dollars by quickly informing me the last guy who quoted me was trying to rip me off. He then proceeded to create a makeshift harness of wire to fix whatever the problem was, at almost no cost altogether. Last year, I was trying to pay him a few hundred to fix my power steering which would have involved taking much of the engine out of my car because of the awkward location of the power steering, but he advised against it, because he spotted major trouble with my head gasket in the process and he knew i would kick myself if i spent a few hundred only to realize that I would probably have to junk the car because the head gasket job would cost more than my old run down car was worth... He actually turned down business that was completely fair for him to perform, just out of looking out for me as a human being overall. He goes above and beyond by keeping it very real with you as to what maintainence you can live without, if you're on a budget... I have finally gotten an amazing newer car that won't need as much tending to, and I am almost going to miss seeing Luis and the guys as often. Today, I dropped by with a 12 pack of Tecate for him as he gave the new car its first oil change under my care. I suggest you do the same on your next visit... People operating with integrity in a business shrouded in mystery for so many of its consumers is a rare and precious gift. I have long since moved from Burbank, but it's completely worth the drive across town to know I'm dealing with better than fair prices and, more importantly, a fair man. read more

I was referred here by a neighbor who loves this place - but he's a guy and an attorney. I went there with my Volvo, explained I was taking a road trip to Mammoth and wanted a full service - everything from wipers to types. Dropped the car off in the morning and picked it up at 5. I was shocked that the price was 250.00 given that I knew I needed types. I said to the guy "so the types re fine?" he went out and looked and said no, I need new tires, measured then and said to bring it back on another day - frustrating because I had left it there all day for that purpose. Two days later driving to work the "stop engine" light came on due to no empty coolant. I called a work colleague to check out the car when I got to work - he popped the hood and said straight away "no one has worked on this" - he could tell because everything was dirty and there were no finger prints. There was a new filter and were was oil but all the other fluids were critically low. It made me so frustrated - I could have been stuck at the side of the road on the way to Mammoth. I took it there because I want to be safe in my car and I feel they sent me off with no regard for my safety at all. I called that afternoon and talked to two different guys who could clearly not give a care about my experience. They said "bring it back and we'll put it on the computer" No thank you! Have no trust in this shop any more. If you are a guy perhaps it's different - because a guy would probably know they are being screwed. I have sadly now acquired a painful education in fluids and maintenance that I never wanted - because you just can't trust anyone it seems. And the sad thing is I wanted a relationship with a mechanic that I could have a lasting relationship with and therefore spend money with. Sad. read more
