I had prime rib on 4/16/22 and it was full of fat. Even the best portion of the prime rib was full of fat. Disgusting. The server was good, but never asked me about the meal. My wife had baked cod. The fish was OK, but the vegetables were well over cooked. read more

Rude Service + Burnt Food = $80 After delivering our household goods to Forest Lakes, our movers decided to treat themselves to a nice meal on the way back to Payson. Instead they were treated very poorly and the check came with the burnt food to get them out of there as quickly as possible. One man was black, the other Hispanic. We will avoid going there and will tell our white friends why. We are not a "free" country if everyone is not free to enjoy a good meal at the same restaurant. read more

Bad service. We were not served for at least 15 minutes while there was a scramble to find us a waitress. someone who was not even working there but there in her night off brought us waters. in the meantime the tables around us were served. Our waitress did show after another 10 minutes. she was disinterested all night. our food was late. it had obviously sat for a long time- dried out - we are nice people and left her 15 % because I believe the management had her all over the restaurant tonight. It made no sense. we were the ugly red headed stepchild table of the evening. my husband is hispanic. i think that's worth noting here. read more

The service was great our waitress was very friend and gave us an idea what to get. The inside of the restaurant is very welcoming and we loved it! Food on point prime rib plate was cooked to perfection! The lamb chops were fire! We will be going back for a nice romantic nights with the fire going! Great place great food. People complain about the wait! Trust me it was worth it and it was not to bad! Karen's of the world need to understand it's a small out of the way restaurant where the locals go to eat! It takes time to make a perfect meal!! read more

We pass this restaurant all the time and it's always packed so we decided to give it a try...BIG MISTAKE. The service was horrible, my steak was dry and flavorless and it's over priced. I'd recommend Texas Roadhouse chain restaurant over this place every day. Total disappointment. read more

Recommended by a Payson resident, we finally got the chance to go here. SO GLAD we did. The place is large, open. Friendly staff. Belle was our server & she was GREAT. Never had to ask for anything a 2nd time, which, at least for me, is unusual. She had injured her foot & was wearing a medical boot, yet was SO cheerful & friendly. We both had salad, with the delicious homemade ranch dressing. We also enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, with LARGE shrimp. We both had steaks & both were cooked to perfection & were very flavorful. The accompanying Chipotle dressing my husband had with his steak was so yummy! We even shared a dessert, which we usually do not order. The Mudd pie. Very creamy, delicious. Highly recommend you visit this restaurant if you're in the area!! read more

Awesome everything. You can't go wrong stopping here. Everything is perfect. Most the food on the menu you can't get anywhere else in Payson, or anywhere close to there. There is no question why the parking lot is full. People love it. I'm sure the locals would like to keep it a secret for themselves. Owners are the nicest, friendliest people, that have been building this business for generations and they are nailing it! read more

Went to try this place with my wife for dinner and we were very pleased. We sat down right away, got our drinks pretty quick and ordered our food. Ordered our food and got our appetizer no more than 5 minutes later. Then close to 10 minutes later got a salad and some bread. Then 10 minutes after that we got our entrees. It work out perfect cause we would finish one and the other would come. I got the steak and shrimp and the shrimp was delicious. The steak was a little red in the center but it was delicious with sautéed mushrooms. My wife got the filet mignonette with a jumbo backed potato, she has better taste buds than me and she loved it, she said everything cooked perfect. Thank you for a great experience. I have seen other reviews and can see how certain areas could use a touch up but it doesn't kill the dining experience. And the waitresses that we had on shift we all very fast and friendly. We also did arrive when the place opened at 4pm so maybe that made it better. The menu is on the pricey side but Tuesdays do have a cool burger of the day for a great price. read more

I asked to eat off the kids' menu. I was looking for small portions, I was not wanting to waste or take home leftovers. I was told I could order off the kids' menu but I would have to pay $4 more for the same amount of food. My husband and I left. The restaurant would rather NOT have a paying customer. Very disappointed read more

Excellent value... well prepared. Service was great. This restaurant has a casual and rustic atmosphere. Just what was expected.

Great steak house. But it is labeled Diamond Point Steakhouse. Prime rib to die for. Flat iron steak with grilled shrimp are a must to eat. The atmosphere is very relaxed and romantic. read more

6 of us went here for dinner at the recommendation of someone who works here, touting it as the best steak place around. 4 of us ordered steak, and were sorely disappointed. These were flavorful, but with an extremely high content of fat. The waitress told us that there was marbeling that gives it flavor, but marbling typically will cook into the meat, not have the entire center a blob of uncooked, unabsorbed fat that gets thrown away. The picture shows what was not eatable. We spoke to the eaitress and all she did was apoligize for serving a "possibly bad cut of meat", but never offered us a discount, considering we had to throw out half of a 12 oz steak! She said that its how the steaks come, so i told her that they need to adjust their prices to reflect those bad cuts. $23 for a rib eye that was 40% fat is not right. And they refused to "make it right". Maybe have the decency to comp our drinks, which only came out to $20, mostly soda and tea, but they wouldnt even do that read more

Love this Steak House. It had been awhile since we had the opportunity to dine here. If I could I'd dine here once a week LOL. This last time I had the Salmon and it was delicious my wife had the ribeye with grilled shrimp and she really enjoyed her meal as well. I like the side options they offer my favorite being the broccoli. The house wine is pretty good and reasonably priced as far as restaurants go. I believe Yelp shows two dollar signs which should be should more like four even before this insane inflation has gripped us. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to see for yourself what you think. read more

Great service. the steak, shrimp cocktail, and blue point shrimp are amazing. the creme brule was good but very runny

ADA access allowed but not ADA freindly for Service Dogs Visited the restaurant on Thursday evening 10/26/23 @ about 6:00 pm. There were about 6 other customers seated in the first section of the dining room where the Thursday night NFL game could be seen on the 2 TVs. I brought my trained, registered, and licensed Service Dog. My dog is clearly marked as a service dog with a vest and on a leash. There are two seating sections, and the owner took us beyond the first seating section and seated us in the back section in a corner. I told the owner that I wished to be seated in the first section to see the game and he said ~ "You have a dog, I am the owner and I can tell you where to sit". I objected but he said it is his restaurant and his rules. I then mentioned ADA and he said he didn't care, I had to sit where he wants me to sit and stared me down as I took a seat. Although he did allow me in the restaurant he clearly treated us different than the other customers. There were quite a few open tables in the first section. We were the only customers in the back section until a couple were seated back with us about 1/2 way through our meal. His rudeness ruined any food or ambiance. I would like to close by saying that our waitress was top notch. The owner is not. read more

Visiting family from out of town and they couldn't wait to take us here. The food was great and our server Maddy was a sweetheart. Overall we enjoyed our meal. The fifth star is missing due to the initial experience we had trying to get a drink at the bar. We were up in the Payson area for our anniversary and decided to try Diamond Point Shadows for dinner, boy are we happy we did! We were pleasantly greeted by a very happy hostess. Our Server was friendly and on point serving our appetizers, then salads and main entree without it all running into each other. She was very attentive and truly made our time spent here delightful. Our dinner was amazing! We had the lobster and filet mignon - it was cooked to perfection! The light spicing accented the flavor - making it even more enjoyable. The lobster was the best I have had in a long time, I moved to AZ from Calif. and very picky about seafood - truly was delicious, fresh & the flavor I crave -- rarely can find in the Phoenix Metro area. We asked our Server to compliment the Chef. Cannot wait to go back! read more

Diamond Point Shadows - Delicious meal! - American Near Me - Star Valley, Arizona

The service here was like dining at a very high class restaurant! Our waitress was very attentive with filling our glasses with water, asking us if we needed anything, and clearing off the table. The half chicken was very moist and tender--I recommend this over the trout and cod dishes. I also recommend the broccolini over the rice pilaf. I love that in addition to the bread (which is nice and crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside), they also bring out some veggies with ranch! Not a lot of restaurants do that so that makes them stand out from the rest and a great option for the healthier folks. The ambiance was very nice and overall a great restaurant in the Payson area! read more

Great food, great service. Love the dark cozy ambiance. I ordered the sirloin with broccolini. So good. Steak didn't have a ton of fat - just flavor and the broccolini was delicious! Husband had the filet and he liked it as well. Not over seasoned and very tasty. Will definitely head back soon! read more

One of the better restaurants just outside of small town Payson. Try the old-fashioned shrimp cocktail. We were a group of six and our waitress was very patient with us whilst we placed our orders and then some of us changed our orders. She kept a smiling face and got all of our orders correct. This is a good basic steakhouse. read more

Great meal and service was great. The green beans are amazing. Steak and shrimp was awesome !! W

Old-time Arizona steakhouse vibe. Margaritas were passable, but would not order again. Wife loved her St. Louis ribs. My NY Steak was not properly trimmed in the kitchen, arriving with much more inedible area than it should have. The edible portion was satisfactory, and the sides and salads were all tasty and first-rate. Service was prompt and cordial. read more

Love love the lamb entree and service. The Saladin a cold plate, relish tray, bread and sides are all excellent. I just can't wait to return to have the lamb again and the jalapeño mint sauce is so flavorful I could drink it without lamb! It's not spicy just the right amount of balance of mint and jalapeño then you dip the lamb into it...OMG heavenly!!! My husband had the streak and love it with his fully decked out baked potato! Dessert was a scrumptious creme brûlée!! How much better does it get except to come back soon. read more

It was the worst service we got. We found a animal in our salad do you think they would offer to not pay for the food? So finally made it here to DPS. I had the Steak and grilled shrimp, and baked potato. As a appetizer we had the calamari strips/6$ great price, nice salad, the steak was good, but just no seasoning or flavor. I have had a freaking awesome steak at Jockos in Nipomo. Only in my opinion, the steak could use some seasoning. The service was great and everything else was great. Can't do a 5, more like a 4. read more

Took two friends to Diamond Point (DP) for a celebratory dinner tonight. DP is supposed to be upscale steak house in the Payson area. We ordered our steaks and that seemed to go ok. Steaks arrived and three Filets were fine (albeit a bit flavorless), friends Ribeye was significantly over-cooked, ordered MR, and it was at least Med-Well. Asked waitress for replacement and she took steak back and noted it was over-cooked. Ten minutes later, asked where the steak might be, let me go check, another five minutes or so and steak appears. Friend starts eating it, it is now raw in the middle. We ask for the manager... we wait a bit, waitress now ignoring us, and no manager... ask for manager second time. Manager shows up, asks if there is a problem, we explain, and he immediately starts being defensive and an arrogant ass. Tells us he was aware the first steak was overcooked, and he made the second for us, we noted it was raw in the middle and that just made him angrier. At that point, it was obvious we were not going to get any satisfaction out of him and requested the bill. He did take the bad steak off the bill. My wife noted the manager stood by the table behind our friends and kind of lurked before he came over... we thought he was a busboy. We wondered why the place was half empty, used to always be packed. Do not go to this hot mess, go to Fargo's if you want a good steak and service in Payson. read more

This is a great restaurant! The food is to die for. The atmosphere is relaxing. The servers were so nice and friendly! They get really busy so we totally understood and just stayed patient. I would come back here many times to eat. One of the best restaurants in Payson. Loved how the staff worked together as a team! Great job!! read more

The server is the only reason this place got 2 stars. She worked her tail off due to place was short staff. Decor is out of date and they need to find a cook who knows how to prepare food properly. A cook who knows the different proteins. If you expect me to pay $50 for a meal then I expect you to have care and passion for the meal you present. If you lack the quality in what you do then reflect in your price. When I saw the awards for best steak in the area then I guess you are the only steak house in the area. I have judged a lot of food competitions in 30 years and this is near the bottom food. read more

I was loving this restaurant. We have a summers place in Forest Lakes. We have eaten here 4 times on Tuesdays for the hamburger special. We loved it. Last night our daughters came up to help us winterize. We took them to dinner here as thanks for helping. Two of us had rib eye steaks, one had scallops. The steaks were properly cooked but mine was very hard to cut. Lots of stringy things. The salad was good but on a very small dish and hard to eat without making a mess. The scallops were in a very overwhelming spicy sauce. I think of scallops being quickly seared in butter and salted. Won't be back except for Tuesday night hamburger special. $140.00 for 3 dinners with tip. Once only. read more

What a nice place. The sign says established 1962 and it is reminiscent of the old steakhouses with comfortable decor, well spaced seating, nice servers. They brought a plates of crispy veggies with dip, crackers basket with butter before we ordered. I had filet mignon which was cooked very nicely. Hubby had ribeye and shrimp and enjoyed it. We had hoped for dessert but didn't even have room for our entree so that will have to wait for another visit! read more
