I tried explaining to the owner how I felt and she was not understanding at all and said " next time pick another nail artist" and still charged me for a regular mani. When you work in a client-facing business, basic courtesy is expected. To interrupt a customer before they can even state a simple request is completely unacceptable. After viewing Yelp reviews, several cleints recommended San at this nail salon. Victoria, the receptionist, was not familiar with her name, but suggested Hy. On the morning of my appointment at 10am, I received a TEXT at 9:36am that Hy was 'running late' and would not be available until 11:30am! A little late? No other explanation was given. After reading other reviews of Vy Nail in the Encino Commons, this is not the first time a client was kept waiting or their appointment or it was 'pushed back'without any explanation. They commented that their needs to be better communication between the salon and their clients. After reading these reviews, I called Victoria, a day ahead of time, to cancell my appointment and stated the reasons why. If you want to be a good business owner and have repeat customers, please treat them with respect and be up front with your mistakes and the reason why. Running 'a little late' is not an hour and a half after your scheduled appointment! Why is it so difficult to find a reputable, reasonable, couteous, professional and experienced Nail Salon in Encino? I have lived here for 14 years. To avoid further tension, I picked a different color under pressure. I contacted them afterward, and the response was incredibly unprofessional. Management argued with me via text, citing "camera footage" to claim I wasn't actually uncomfortable. It's a shame that being polite and "smiling" while leaving is being used against me to deny that the service was tense. They offered a small discount for a redo ($15 instead of $25), but at this point, I'd rather go to a salon where the staff is actually friendly and I don't have to argue with management just to be heard. Edit: The owner ignored my private text regarding a technician speaking poorly about me, yet chose to respond publicly instead. This lack of professionalism is exactly why I requested a female technician. Furthermore, at no point was I offered a redo or even a basic apology for the hostile environment. Beware: if the staff is comfortable speaking negatively about clients in the salon, your experience won't be any different. Check the attitude before this business fails. RIP and good luck
