Worst manicure I've received in years. The technician spent less than 20 minutes on the entire manicure and rushed through every step. I had to repeatedly point out that he completely missed the sides of several nails, and instead of fixing them properly, he brushed over them with attitude. It's only been a few hours since my appointment, and there are already bubbles under the polish and peeling along the edges on nearly half of my nails. The polish application is uneven and looks sloppy. On top of that, the salon itself looked dirty, and the nail stations did not appear clean. My wife and I have been coming here for over three years and the service keeps getting worse each time. For some reason the lady technicians always chose the male clients and the male technicians work on the women. This wouldn't be an issue but the female technicians ALWAYS give a cheap, fast service and never massage or use a nail file on the male customers feet and are fine in 10 minutes but the women customers get 2X the time for the service. Went in for a no chip manicure at this location because its only supposed to be $32 I got conned into paying $55 for a dip and almost didnt get the manicure just straight to sanding and painting base coat on my real nails. And if I hadn't paid attention the color was spotty too after the last top coat that I had the lady fix before I walked up front. So...I did NOT get a full set of acrylic nails and I only had one color dip put on. Make sure you inspect their work closely before u leave too. Because it was shotty on a slow evening and nobody there. And charged a random expensive amount and was never told at the beginning how much the actual dip costs. read more

The nail tech removed my full set by using a brand-new fake nail to pry them off, sliding it under each one until they popped off. When I asked if they usually soak the nails in acetone, she said no--this method was faster and caused the same amount of damage. My nails now look pretty damaged. Dirty salon, they reuse toe separators, tools not sterilized. After asking what the charge would be for a chip free, the basic pedicure was charged more. I refused to pay the overcharge and pedicurist got very upset. She was rude and aggressive. I asked her to call the police. She stated I would not pay and told him Even more $. Agree with the other reviews! They are totally scamming people here. The prices are NEVER the same. Same service is $37 one week and $45 the next.... then $55. They make them up as the go! I had an acrylic fill and brought my own product. Expected to pay the stated and posted amount of $25. Charged me $50.00 for any acrylic fill (my own acrylic brought in for them to us) Price on the menu is $25.00 for a basic acrylic fill. I had NO POLISH. Explain this. He said it was because it would be hard to take off the next time and the powder was expensive? Next time? I'm paying now for next time? and for my own product? What?????? From far away my nails look nice but once you look up close the mistakes become very obvious. Acrylic flooding into the side of my nail bed on one nail and then on another finger it didn't reach far enough. Gel top coat put on very sloppy and not covering some part of the nail. It also seems like some of the edges are lifting and I got them put on like 2 hours agoSeems like very inconsistent work and I had an entire full set put on in under an hour... Prices drastically went up from the last time I went to this salon to get my nails done. I never paid more than $55 for a full set with a colored French tip ended up paying $72 including a $5 tip (wanted to give her more in the moment but I was not expecting more than $60 maximum). i do think this place is extremely talented with their nail designs, especially their acrylics, but they are very difficult to understand. i get that that's just how they speak but sometimes it's hard to understand and comprehend. also, the nail tech i was put with was on facetime while he did my nails. i love diamond nails yes, but some of the staff here are not the best and just need to be more professional. i like this place but it is for sure not the best in the world. read more

I went and the one girl up in the front by the register, Lynn I think was rude and poured oil all over my hands. I could have cooked with that much she put on there. And I thought it was 37 for a fill and she charged me 40 must of been from the extra oil she poured on me. Never had a problem before with anyone else just her. Update . I went back to someone else this time to get my nails done and had no problem and guess what only charged 37 by this one. absolutley horrible customer service. went in for a basic mani/pedi with no polish because I can't wear polish for work. The man doing my pedicure would ignore me when I was trying to make conversation. The lady who did my pedicure did a fantastic job. When I went to pay the lady who did my pedicure asked the man who did my manicure how much and he wanted $17 for my basic manicure without polish and she laughed when he told her this. my experience here was horrible. went in for a mani/pedi and was able to be seen right away, which ended up being the only good thing. the service was very rushed and poor quality. my nails were cut crooked and uneven, the polish was bubbly and smudged, and I had to clean out underneath my nails when I went home. the polish ended up chipping off later that day. the salon is very dirty. common surfaces were covered in dust and the floors were dirty as well to the point that there was debris in the polish. I (an African American woman) went here with my nieces mother (who was Caucasian). The lady who was short with glasses was nice to her but unreceptive to me. She did my nails but she acted like i was bothering her or if i started shaking she got annoyed. Then she asked me if my friend (nieces mother) would be paying for my nails. I was stunned she would ask me that because if that were the case, i would've been with her getting pedicures instead of a full set. I'm glad i am from out of town and got to experience the racial aggression in this shop. I had to come back twice for a pedicure and it still did not hold even one day. Not sure if that was because of poor technique or past due date polish or what. I could tell that technician tried to do his best and took time, I have no complaint about his service. But polish smeared off that same day both times. 1 Star for the work done. I added an additional star because my technician tried to fix the work when I came back. I asked for a red dip color for my nails. She finished one hand and it was pink. I insisted it wasn't red and compared the color from my pedicure to my nails because she was trying to insist that it wasn't pink. Instead of redoing my nails, she painted over them using gel polish. They were thick and I knew they would peel off. She said I could come back if they started to chip, which they did a day later. When I came back, we got the right dip powder color. I had been a client of this family for several years, I had a my regular guy Vu who I saw and was wonderful. This last time I went in Vu was not there. I was in need of the service so I went ahead and got my pedicure. The young kid who was providing the service was not paying attention to what he was doing. He was on his phone. And I told him to get off his phone. He then said in Vietnamese that I didn't understand. Employee not knowing I know some Vietnamese I called him out and said he was rude and disrespectful. On top of that because he wasn't paying attention he caused me to bleed on both my big toes and I now have a bacterial skin infection. I will never again step foot into diamond nail and spa. I went to Diamond to get my acrylics SOAKED off. The lady who was working on my nails insisted on taking my acrylics off her way and not soaking them like I asked. I told her I've had my nails done for a long time now and they are very fragile. She nodded like she understood. She then used another fake nail to wedge in between my natural nail and the acrylic to pry them off. I was quiet because I assumed she knew what she was doing. She started going fast and I was growing more uncomfortable. When she got to my thumb I squealed in pain. She said oops sorry... I looked down at my thumb and it started to bleed. She tore my natural nail and let me leave with some of the acrylic still on. This whole situation could have been avoided if she had listened to me and wouldn't have rushed. This place has a pseudo nice decor but none of that truly matters when the service is sub-par. I went this past Columbus Day and should have stayed home. I originally arrived in the best of spirits and had high hopes. Upon entering this establishment I wasn't greeted at once and when someone finally acknowledged me I was asked what I wanted and I specifically replied "a manicure and pedicure". She replied....."okay manicure". I said "no....both a mani AND pedi". Once I was understood I wasn't requested to select a color, the tech just walked away to the back as if I just knew to follow her. (Did I mention this was my very first time here?) After selecting my color, I proceeded to wait near the front because my thinking is anyone who works for tips should actually earn it and treat a customer well. After approximately 5 min she finally gestured for me to come to the back. At this point I'm a tad bit annoyed but put my feelings aside because I'm quite certain she didn't speak English. (How difficult is it to learn the language in a land where you are working for the local currency.). To summarize the service: it was sub-par. She didn't scrub or take time on my pedicure and rushed the manicure; additionally she scoffed at the fact I informed her a couple of my nails weren't even. (I know my damn nails!!!!). Needless to say, I will never return. If you a person who isn't used to receiving quality service and just want a basic and no frills experience, then this place is perfect for you. The technician cut 3 of my cuticles so badly that they continued to bleed throughout my no-chip manicure. Not only did it hurt, but she just painted over the blood with the no-chip gel polish, trying to ignore the fact that I was bleeding. I am sure there is someone out there right now getting their nails painted with that bloody polish. I had to go home and apply bandaids and bacitracin to my nail beds. This was a very nice and relaxing experience for my boyfriend and I who both got pedicures. They have customizing massaging chair that were very comfortable and made our pedicures more enjoyable! The only reason I gave them a less star is that they don't actually spend much time perfecting your toe nails. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY GOING HERE!!! Their employees are unbelievably rude!! I have gone here numerous times hoping for a better experience than the last because I really want to support our local businesses here in Valpo. I will NOT return again. I wanted a color change and design on my acrylic nails. I brought my own polishes because theirs have repeatedly been thinned down and are poor quality.. but needed them to supply the dark purple fine tip nail polish for the french tip line design that I wanted. I sat down and began to explain exactly what I was looking for. The nail tech pulled out the bin of nail design polishes from behind her station she offered a reddish maroon color as my choice. When my daughter & I both agreed it was not even close to the color I requested and needed to be purple, we politely said, maybe a little darker and less red, more purple, like dark purple..the tech threw the maroon color in the bin and said "well go get it then,i don't have it!" I started to laugh a little and turned to my daughter who also tried to laugh it off as well, both of us thinking she DEFINITELY must be joking, right? Yeah, no! She was serious and AGAIN repeated "go get it!" I was baffled and had finally had enough. I politely said, there aren't polishes like that in your display racks for me to choose from, otherwise I would've brought it back with us when I came to sit down, but don't worry I'll get the color I was requesting FROM ANOTHER SALON!! I cannot believe you felt it was appropriate to speak to me/us that way, but I will NOT be spoken to rudely again!! To add insult to injury as we were walking out she begins ranting loudly in a foreign language to others inside the salon, then jumps up, racing to the window and begins pointing to us in the parking lot for other technicians that had rallied around her to see. Absolutely RIDICULOUS behavior!! I DO NOT recommend this salon and urge you spend your money elsewhere!!! I don't usually get time to go out and pamper myself, but I finally did this past weekend and recalled my previous experiences being great. This time, this was not the case. I went in for a manicure and a pedicure. I paid extra for a peppermint pedicure, which was okay. As I was looking at the women next to me, I noticed that I was not getting a lot of stuff done that they were getting. The lady filed my nails while I was in the pedicure seat to kill time, and then when it came time for me to move, she left my shoes at the chair. She went to begin my manicure and laid out a selection of colors to choose from (I brought my own so at this point I was confused). She told me to pick one. I told her I wanted the color I brought in, and she told me no, that I needed to pick one of those. i told her no back and said that I wanted my color that I brought in. I finally caught on and said "I want a regular manicure. Not the no-chip," and the technician's response was, "Yeah but no-chip lasts longer." I told her no, that I wanted a regular manicure where they soften my cuticles and massage my hands, and buff my nails. It's what they usually do there when I get a REGULAR manicure. So, she put this base coat on my nails, which must have been for the no-chip manicure, and then my color on, and a top coat. She pushed my cuticles down before painting, which hurt, and rubbed some olive oil on my hands, but that was it. It really made me feel like she did not want my business since I did not want the gel nails. When I went to dry my nails, my purse was left at her table, which was behind me, so when I finally had semi-dry nails I brought it over to where I was, along with my shoes. This was 2 days ago and my nail polish is already off. Part of the reason is because of the base coat that was used. It shriveled up in spots on my nail, and looks absolutely awful. By the time I was getting ready to leave she came to me and charged me the right price for the pedicure, but overcharged me (in my eyes) for the 'manicure' I received. She's lucky I don't believe in poor tipping, because I would have. Needless to say, never again. Never, ever, again. read more

I've been here multiple times. I usually have good service and my nails looks and feel amazing. However one guy there is really rough and rushes through everything and doesn't really ask if it looks okay. Yeah have gotten a design there that I specifically asked for and they called over a girl who was specifically good at designs to make sure it looked perfect. I had to edit my review, the first time I went here it was fantastic. I love my nails and the service. Each time after it seemed to get worse. My no-chips started looking gross after only a few days and my nails had lots of bubbles. I got a full gel set and they were just awful, the worst set I've ever had.
