Was looking forward to a nice meal with a friend and my 8 lb Shih Tzu ESA dog one evening on their outdoor patio this summer when we were asked to leave because dogs aren't allowed. I've never had a restaurant with an outdoor seating area tell me my dog was not welcome. We had already ordered beers and they wouldn't even comp us for them so we had to pay and find a new restaurant. Thankfully other restaurants are nearby and much more welcoming on their patios. read more

We ate outside, even in the heat it was nice. We had the Reuben sandwich and Santa Fe salad. Both were excellent. The rib tips as an appetizer were plentiful. Good beer too read more

Short & sweet: an average bar with friendly bartenders. $4 for a vodka cocktail and a regular coke (served with a stemmed cherry). A live band was playing while our group was there, and we also overtook Jim's back space, joining multiple tables together - nobody seemed to have a problem with that, and we were thankful. read more

Extremely mediocre. The food took forever to get to our table finally and my son ordered the rib-eye sandwich only to be told "We haven't had that in months". Then tell us before we look at the menu! Major pet peeve. Nothing special on the menu, needs updating inside, floors were dirty. Just average, average, average. My salmon on my salad looked like chicken. Overcooked and blah... read more

Great hole in the wall bar. Very nice staff, but hit or miss on the food. Always a couple great beers on tap as well!

Atmosphere: 3 stars, typical bar experience Food: 3.5 stars. Four of the five of us ordered the same thing, so..this review isn't going to have a ton of variety when it comes to food... -Ollie burger: this was their featured burger with a "secret sauce" and served in a basket w/ fries. The patty was pretty good, but I didn't really taste the "secret sauce" that much. The waitress described it as a thousand island-based sauce, similar to a Big Mac sauce, but "wayyy better." The portions were ENORMOUS. I didn't finish the burger, nor did I finish the fries :( -Pork BBQ dinner: my coworker got this (I didn't try it)...it looked like average BBQ, didn't seem too special Drinks: 4 stars. Pretty good beer selection. I had the huma-lupa-licious IPA for the first time (not gonna lie, I totally got it because of the name) and really liked it! Service: 4 stars. The waitress was really nice and attentive :) Price: 4 stars. $70 for the five of us, including drinks! Overall: 3.5 stars. For what it is, it's pretty good. I'll probably come back here in the future since it's right across from the H Hotel (where we stay every week). read more

As you can see from the owner's response, he does not know what cross contamination is. If you or your child has a food allergy, go somewhere else where they understand cross contamination. read more

Nice classy bar with good food. Prices are a bit stupid but the drinks are good. Staff is friendly and the place is pretty clean.

I love going to Diamond Jim's downtown Midland for there hamburgers!!! I have nothing but great things to say about the juiciness and flavor of them. Hands down one of the best burgers on Main St. in Midland. Plus the outdoor seating is a very nice treat. read more

Went here on a Monday to try out the lunch buffet and wings. The bar was a little run down but had a good selection of beers. I tried to make a panini using their panini maker they had out for the sandwich buffet but sadly it didn't heat up properly and did not work. The soups were not bad I liked the beef barely had a nice spice to it. The service was great and I wouldn't mind coming back here again for a cocktail or beer sometime. I wouldn't order food again the wings were just your average bar frozen wings nothing good about it. read more

Didn't eat here because when I walked in and asked to see the menu I asked if they had nachos. The lady behind the bar was so stuck up and snobby, she scoffed and me and kind of snorted laughter with her rude reply of "No, we don't have nachos". I don't appreciate being laughed at for a simple question. Lost my business. read more

Diamond Jim's is fairly well known in the tri-city area for being a bar, but one bite of their delicious food and you'll quickly realize there's a lot more going on. While they were always a personal favorite for reasonable drink prices and excellent service, I had been there a number of times before I tried the food. I was missing out! The Kentucky Hot Brown is absolutely amazing, and their burgers are far from typical for a bar. Stop in on Mondays and you can grab a burger for just $3!! I haven't tried one of their huge salads yet but they look amazing. Diamond Jim's has quickly evolved from my favorite bar to my favorite restaurant. Keep up the good work! http://mrfeedback3.wix.com/mrfeedback read more

Summary: Unfortunate event at the place with the owner left me and my party of 5 with a very bitter taste from the place. Will not be returning. Drinks without prices on the menu are tricky to begin with, but when a $2.00 up charge results in the owner arguing with three people, I was left with the feeling that the owner is more concerned with his $2.00 profit and his ego intact than the experience the customer has at his establishment. I've enjoyed two burgers at this place, and several drinks in the past. But now, I can't even drive by without feeling that the owner, with his many "years of experience", as he was fond of repeating to us for much of our "discussion", hasn't a clue on a positive experience in giving customer service. It's a shame, because my group had just started venturing out to new places in town, and this was our second trip and was looking like a good hang out! I won't be supporting this establishment anymore based on the divisive and dismissive communication style, to myself, my wife and our other female friends. If you are hungry, get a burger there, the food is good. Stay away from the Crown Royal and it's unexpected price and sidecar up charges. read more

so I'm going on vacation can I took off an extra day just to look for some good food and boy am I glad I did. This place has some of the best burgers around! I got one with no bun and no ketchup, but added there delicious Ranch and I cannot believe how good all the taste in one big combo were! I love the atmosphere in here not overly loud and not too quiet either which I don't like. I would definitely recommend this place,.especially when you bring a date! I will definitely be back and boy was the drive worth it. ask for the waiter e was wonderful!!!!!! read more

This place is fine for a beer, but the food is not good. The attempt at a hot brown equated to some deli turkey and toasted wonder bread. Not impressed. I'm probably being a little harsh with one star, but this place is no where near the star rating it currently has. read more

My boyfriend and I managed to squeeze in on a lunch break and the place was pretty busy. A few people were hovering over the lunch buffet but I heard good things about their burgers so I went with a Mushroom Swiss ($6.50). Despite the crowd, our orders came up quickly. Even though I asked our server to hold the chips, it came with them anyway. But in the end I was happy to put them in my burger. The bread was not the usual sesame bun but more like a loose ciabatta. It was nice and the patty was cooked nicely. And the lettuce was fresh too. Overall a great burger at a good price. We'll definitely be back to try the rest of their menu. read more

Service has gone downhill. Every time you go now somthing is wrong. Last time the cooler was broke so so bloody Marys , the time before that the oven was broke so no hot browns. Just disappointing read more

Came back to Midland for a visit this Thanksgiving and tried this place for the first time. While there weren't many people there around lunch time, I can imagine the place filling up in the evenings. Prices were cheap and the food was good. Unfortunately I can't give this place a 5/5 because Fox "News" was on two of the televisions. No one should be forced to watch that drivel. read more

Happy Hour at Diamond Jim's is always the best. Have a few discount brews, enjoy the free appetizers and let the stress melt off of you after a long week. The setup is kind of narrow so I don't really like going here when it's packed. Great burgers and definitely a place I'd recommend in Midland. read more

The food was really good! You may have thought I didn't notice the celery salt on the French fries but I diiiid. It was a nice touch. The slaw burger is a awesome. Not complex but wonderful in it's availability. The service could use an upgrade though...I don't know if Jade is used to people taking forever to make choices/organize payment but the lag was a little much. Maybe it was just an off night for her. read more

I'm not a Midland local, but traveling through, and this joint hit the spot after a long day! Super friendly staff behind the bar, heaps of beers on tap (fresh, good, local stuff), burgers were ACE and plenty of fries/crisps/chips on the side (depending what you choose). Locals are lovely, sit in or outside if you've good weather, up at the bar or at the tables, affordable. You'll leave here happy and full! read more

We looked on yelp and stopped here. Gooood food . Hubby had a burger and fries. I had ribeye sandwich and a salad. We will be back

My wife and I stopped in last week for a quick dinner. We were very happy! We caught the tail end of the free appetizer buffet during happy hour (the hot wings were pretty good) my wife had a steak salad that she loved, I had a very good burger and the drinks were very reasonable. Best bar food in town. It's not saying much, but my wife and I will definitely come back. read more

I can only vouch for the burgers. If you are in the mood for a hearty savory burger, this is place place to go! Probably not much on the healthy side. My wife tried the turkey burger and she was a fan of it as well. I had the bbq bacon cheeseburger. Comes with your choice of various sides (fries, coleslaw, etc). Buyer beware, it's going to get messy. But that makes it even better. Good prices. Gets pretty busy during lunch, so come early or come after the lunch crowd. read more

Look, you don't come here for a gourmet meal. But if you're going for a beer with the crew and looking for fantastic service far beyond the average of your normal midland stop? Go here. Great people, great service. I'm a fan. read more

We found ourselves in a new town with one evening to enjoy. Trusted Yelp to find a quaint spot for dinner. It was all that. The previous comments and ratings were right on. So when in Midland Michigan, be sure to go to Diamond Jim's. Mmmmmm read more

Nice, relaxed atmosphere. Food is priced well and I would describe the menu as "really good bar food." Service has been efficient, food has always come out quick. They have some popular craft beers on tap, and other medium shelf liquor selection for reasonable prices! Highly suggest for a casual bar-goer. read more

Service was awesome. Cook time was pretty slow. I had a family of four, two other tables of 2, that came in after us got their food before us, waiter did feel bad. Food was very good. Would eat there again. read more

This is a regular destination of mine... a great mix of great and affordable drinks, simple and good food, and attentive service. The owners are there most evenings I am, and the hands-on attention shows. They have live music a couple nights a week, usually on the weekends, featuring local bands. My friend Dave Kellan from NYC always plays there when he makes it back to Midland. They have outdoor dining at four tables on Main St which is open throughout the summer, which is nice. Lastly, they have an excellent IPA on draft, Founders, that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a beer with bite. Cheers! read more

Food is fresh and affordable (salad/soup bar). Service was good - friendly. I'm from out of town and will go back when I get the chance - for the food. The room itself seems a bit wore out for the night life it endures each eve. Clean, comfortable. But with a hint of beer in the air and worn in decor that reminds you people have fun there. read more

The blue cheese burgers are to die for. Cooked exactly the way you want. Fries are crisp and not greasy, service is very good. Been back several times, never been disappointed read more

Terrible food and there's a good chance that the waiter will write his own tip and still your money.

Worst service ever. Came in restaurant at 7:30 pm, tail end of dinner time rush, all tables full, wait staff did not acknowledge us, once seated, both general manager (at bar) and waitress ignored us, took 10 minutes to ask for drinks, another 15 to be asked food order. Both bartender (G.M) and waitress walked by several times ignoring us, tables were empting out. This is second time for bad service. I have an idea now what it must feel for a minority to be designated against or being ignored. Restaurant carries a snob attitude, food is good from past visits, Service Sucks. read more

very nice Place and the service Was Amazing and the entire team Was very interactive with everyone, this was my wife and I anniversary.

Great Food, great prices, service could use some improvement. However we were very pleased with our visit and look forward to visiting again!!! Happy that we gave this place a shot on our way to our concert. read more

Always got carry out because the place itself is a little too dim and bar oriented for my taste. If you like blue cheese, the bacon blue cheese burger is awesome! Also, don't pass up the sweet potato fries - my favorite thing to get, it's so good!! read more

The best part about Diamond Jim's is the beer selection. After sitting down and receiving menus, we waited 20 minutes or longer to finally have our orders taken. After that, the service was fine. The food was ok, not great, but we'll go back for the good beer. read more

My first choice for bars to hit in Midland. Great live bands. Enough beers without being full of craft beers which I'm getting sick of these days. Great bar to go to with friends or to just mingle with random people. read more

Went here because they had KBS on tap, which they opened for the Kentucky Derby party. Our appetizer was just okay: the jalapeño poppers were not eatable without forks and knives because the peppers did not break when we tried to take half bites. read more

A little under staff I felt like for a Saturday evening they should have had more staff so the service wasn't so rushed. That being said out survey was friendly and apologetic for the rush he seemed to be in. However, the burgers were great! I also enjoyed the onion rings. The outdoor seating on a nice night is key. read more
