The crab Rangoon is to die for. I love their food. I wish they still had the drive thru!

The food was great. The service was good, very very clean. The peanut butter chicken was good for a change!

The food was okay to good but not special in any way. The service was distant, as I never got a drink refill or even a visit. The dining area is clean and pleasant. Overall, it is okay, but in the larger area there are some better choices. read more

My fave spot in town for cashew chicken when I'm visiting my family. Also the best crab Rangoon, while the eggs rolls are just okay. It's currently drive through only, but they have a sign saying 'dine-in and buffet open soon." Consistently quick service. read more

Just updating my review. I've been here since they changed owners and all recipes are completely different and the food now just taste like your usual bland chinese buffet. Really disappointing. read more

Food delicious and price is right. Have never been disappointed and it is very clean.

The Chinese food scene in these parts is pretty poor for the most part. That doubles down on buffets. However we have eaten at Diamond Head a dozen times and the food has been excellent. The meats are always flavorful and tender and the vegetables perfectly cooked. The black pepper chicken is my favorite. While the buffet may be a touch smaller than most, the quality of food more than makes up for that. This is the best Americanized Chinese buffet in the area by far. read more

They were very accomodating for our group of 16. Buffet was full and great variety of items. Service was fast and prompt. Thanks, Diamond Head Staff ! read more

This was my first visit to Diamond Head Restaurant and it did not disappoint. I went at lunch time for the buffet. The price is reasonable and the restaurant has a very open and roomy atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious. I was able to enjoy many of my favorite foods, sushi, seaweed salad, salmon, imitation crab, mushrooms, zucchini, shrimp, hot and sour soup, beef broccoli etc. I purposely avoided the rice, noodles, and fried foods because I am trying to avoid carbs in my diet right now but it all looked very appetizing. I will definitely be going back. read more

They have the best Crab Rangoon in town! I came on a Saturday, the Drive thru service was fast and timely. Will come back! read more

We loved their buffet before covid. The new buffet is really good, but only a 4 now. It seems more bland now than before. This is our go to Chinese restaurant. My wife loves the wonton soup. Would recommend, especially since they added sushi. read more

Food was fine . Walked in on a very hot day 100 degree heat index , seemed warm in the lobby area but thought it was because close to the doors and super hot out . Was instructed I needed to pay first so I did then as being led to our table were informed of sorry air conditioning is still out . Should have been told that immediately absolutely ridiculous I mean i think they had 3 fans throughout the place which do nothing . No wonder they have you pay first other wise you would for sure leave . Will never go back complete disappointment read more

Haven't considered eating at Diamond Head for years because the quality had gone downhill. I ate there last Sunday and the buffet was exceptional at a reasonable price. I'm happy the new owners have high standards. I will definitely be back. Probably this week! read more

Really been enjoying their Hot & Sour soup & Egg Drop soups lately!! Great portion sizes & appreciate their pricing.

Busy place. We usually order through the drive through. Junior Cashew Chicken combo which includes rice, chicken sauce egg roll and cheese wonton with a sprinkle of cashews and green onion on top. Tried the Jr Sesame Chicken combo in addition. It's equally as good as cashew. Give them a try. read more

Diamond Head Restaurant - Drive through. Push button! - Buffets Near Me - Republic, Missouri

The food is really good! But when ordering the buffet they weigh it. I've never in my life at all the places had to have it weighed. To me and friends I've talked to, it's unfair. we are already paying the buffet price. And we wanted the sauce in a separate container so it didn't spill out of the terrible foam floppy containers. They chargered us for the two sauce containers that's the sauce is suppose to come with. They even charged us for a soup! really?? All that stuff is suppose to come with the buffet. I think I'll not ever go there again, yes food was really good but to pay extra for stuff that's supposed to come with a buffet meal and have it weighed is really unfair to customers. We can find better places. read more

I miss the buffet The service is good the staff is very friendly Atmosphere is as expected The Food is good. read more

Best kung pao around. Excellent pricing, fast service. I always just do drive thru and they do not disappoint!

Chicken and rice soup = EXCELLENT! Shrimp in lobster sauce = EXCELLENT! Diamond Head is a step above other average Chinese restaurants. Highly recommended. read more

Don't know what this is but it's not Chinese. Rice was over cooked. Hardly No meat in lo main.

I have had a lot of rice coming from stlouis but I have to say this by far was the worst! Other may love it but I could do it I wish I could get my money back. read more

Excellent food and service. Have passed by the restaurant many times, but today was my first time ordering food. Absolutely thrilled with my experience. The food is wonderful and service was fast. I highly recommend if you're in the area. read more

We ordered Mongolian Beef and Bourbon Chicken. Both meals were bland and unappealing. Chicken was dry and chewy, beef was tough. The rice was over cooked and plain. So close to home, but so far from appetizing. read more

This is based solely on cashew chicken to go. In my opinion it has pretty darn good cashew chicken! I get it w/ all white meat and sauce on the side to go. The chicken was nice and crispy and plump. The sauce was a tad bit heavy on the oyster sauce but overall it is good and right down the road from my parents house. read more

Diamond Head Restaurant - Cashew chicken w/ egg roll and crab Rangoon. - Buffets Near Me - Republic, Missouri

If you're wanting Chinese style buffet, this is a good choice. They have lots of variety and something for even picky eaters. The atmosphere is traditional although I could do without the small flatscreen TVs. read more

My husband and I tried this place for the first time. We were a little skeptical due to the other reviews, but were pleasantly surprised. We didn't have any issue with cold food. Everything was pretty good. Nothing spectacular given that it is Chinese buffet. The highlights were the frog legs my husband firmly approved of, the crab ragoons were excellent, very creamy and had crab meat in them! I appreciated the plain fried rice since I don't like the onions or peas that tend to be in it. The price for fri night was 9.29 and that seemed a little pricey for buffet. We will defiantly be back when it's a little cheaper!. read more

Diamond Head Restaurant - Plain rice, sweet and sour chicken, crab ragoons - Buffets Near Me - Republic, Missouri

Thought I would give them one more chance.... chicken is still so dry... I broke the plastic fork they gave me off in the chicken. I ordered the general chicken and there was like no sauce on the chicken. It was like drizzled. The rice was soggy and clumpy. Don't give these people your business. They are so bad. Don't be fooled by all the good reviews on google. Their employees make fake accounts and review them. read more

Good place for lunch in a small town if your looking for Chinese. Not as many choices as some larger places, but enough. read more

DON'T do it. Bad reviews are valid. Dark and uninviting feel when you first walk it. Over $10 for lunch buffet. Has fewest number of dishes than any buffet I've been to in a very long time, possibly ever. Was not able to handle the pork. Some food was not hit as it should have been. Taking the time to write this while I'm here as I don't want to have to deal with it again later. A co-worker got sick last time he ate here but I thought I would give it a try. Chinese is my favorite type of restaurant but pizza from a gas station would be a better deal. Couldn't handle it in the end. Left half of the food I took on my small selection. I paid for my meal as a courtesy and then had to go buy lunch at a different Chinese buffet. I have never ever had to do that anywhere I've eaten before read more

Whenever we're in Republic we generally eat here. There's a good selection for everyone and it doesn't break the bank for us to take the family out to eat. If you're looking for a lot of sushi then this isn't the place for you. They have a very small amount it sushi available. Still a good meal for a good price. The place is always very clean and the staff friendly. read more

Only been here two times, one was take out and the other was the drive-thru. The first time I got violent diarrhea. The second time I got explosive diarrhea. Gave it 2 stars since it did taste good. Maybe one day I will return for a third time and wear a diaper. read more

It wouldn't let me put a negative amount of stars.. Worst customer service with the rudest employees ever! I called to let them know my drive thru order was messed up and was told I was wrong and it was my fault. I will never go back there again! read more

We tried this place last night because it's closer than Springfield. I kept reading about how cheap it was so even with all the negative reviews we took a gamble. It wasn't the worst I've ever had, but not worth the almost $9 per person we paid either. The fried rice was literally plain rice with a couple pices of egg which people pick out quickly, so basically plain rice. Also a guy followed me around the buffet staring at my plate & stirring everything behind me. Annoying!!!!! 3 stars because it's not the worst buffet I've ever been to, but I won't be going back either. The spring rolls were awful & tasted like a salt lick, but the rangoons were really good. read more

Just a great place to eat. Drive through staff are always friendly.

We go here often, Buffett and restaurant is always clean, staff is friendly, service is quick, price is great for Buffett. Sushi included on the Buffett and pretty decent. Great for kids they have a desert bar, usually a quiet place with a steady flow of families. read more

I was very unimpressed. We recently moved here (2nd time living in Republic for my hubby) and he mentioned this place was one of his favorites. Now we are wondering if it's under new management or they sold out or something. The service was good, but the food wasn't great. It tasted fake. Like something you could just microwave at home. Very disappointing. Great price for an all you can eat, but not worth it if you want something tasty. read more
