Found myself downtown around lunchtime and finally decided it was time to check out Zayka -- and wow, I'm glad I did. From the outside, you'd never guess how spacious it is inside. There's even outdoor seating and a rooftop (pretty sure I spotted that), but with it being 30 degrees out, I kept my Missouri-born self firmly indoors. I was seated right away and handed both the full menu and their daily lunch menu, which comes with two choices: vegan or non-vegan. Plot twist -- even the non-vegan option arrives as a full-on sampler platter with a veggie dish included. My plate came stacked: fluffy basmati rice, rich butter chicken(top middle), tender chicken tandoori (top left), a hearty vegetable curry (top right), three massive slices of fresh naan, and a little dessert to finish things off. All for fifteen bucks. Fifteen! It's easily one of the best lunch deals downtown. Everything was hot, fresh, and packed with flavor -- except the dessert (bottom middle), which was cold(because it's supposed to be, but still super tasty. Zayka absolutely delivers on bold, authentic Indian cuisine at a price point that just feels unfair to everyone else. The buffet must still be an option, but not Thursdays apparently, so I'm already planning my return trip. read more

We have another India restaurant in town that is our favorite, but we were downtown and decided to pop in to Zayka. The food was really good. We enjoyed the naan bread a lot. It was different than most places. The tikka masala was also a little different than we're used to but it was still really good. We ordered medium spice and I will warn you, it was definitely more spicy than medium. However, we don't eat here often and I'm not as familiar with their spice scale. Service started out great but got slow at the end. Overall good experience though! I have to admit, we will probably default to our other favorite Indian spot but I would come here again if I was in the downtown area. read more

I finally have the strength to write this review after one of the worsts nights and mornings I have had in a long time. The food tasted great last night so I am leaving two stars instead of one but I definitely got food poisoning. I spent all night viciously vomiting and still now have diarrhea. I just now 3pm the next day am able to keep water down. Not sure what happened but I can't trust getting food from here every again. I had butter chicken I believe and a mango drink. I really though I was going to need to get an IV, what an awful experience :( read more

We ordered door dash and then went to the buffet the next day that's how much we love this place. Amazing service, I was blown away how kind and efficient the wait staff were. The selection on the buffet is huge and everything was delicious. They also have chai tea included in the buffet and I loved it so much they gave me a cup to go home with. 100% recommend this place. read more

Awesome wait staff. Food is tasty and well spiced. Warning that for some reason the lamb dishes are next level hot. So I suggest ordering down at least one degree unless you have an affinity for really spicy food. As someone who comes from a family in which my step Dad is from India. I have had my fair share of honest Indian cuisine. This restaurant has been the closest closest thing to that experience. For those who have never had Indian food, I highly recommend butter chicken or chicken tikka masala. The service is phenomenal. They are very funny and friendly. I Finally decided to give this place a try and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the Tandoori Chicken which I requested to be bone in. The chicken was juicy and had a distinct grill taste to it and the sauce in which it was cooked was spectacular and spicy! It came paired with rice and I added an order of garlic Naan bread. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious and the portions are very generous! The Service was fast and friendly and the ambiance was quiet but upscale. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend to anyone who is in the mood for Indian food. Probably the best in the area! read more

Since we started coming here we've been in love with this place the food is wonderful ad until now consistent, so we've never looked for another Indian food joint in town. Sadly the heat consistency has been called into question the last two times we've visited. The first time the got the order wrong, spicing half the medium dishes we ordered as hot and the hot dish we ordered as mild. The second time we did take away everything was spiced crazy hot when we ordered mild. If you know Indian food you know there's no halfway point in this. You just can't power through over-spiced Indian food. I guess the search is on for a new place which has consistent spice levels again. read more

When we travel for my niece's birthday we wanted to try local places. We love Indian food so we thought we would try Zayka. Oh my gosh!!! This place is amazing and the people are so wonderful and made us feel welcome. The place was comforting and warm. I highly recommend the Tikka Masala and the Garlic Naan. One of the best restaurants in the 417, esp ethnic food (along w Everyday Thai). Food is great quality and flavor. Service is very good too. Particular foods... The tandoori chicken, shrimp and lamb kabobs are fantastic with great flavor (skip the tandoori salmon...I think it gets too dry for tandoori prep). Samosas are great...lightly fried so not too hard in the outside. Malai kofta curry is my fave (vegetarian too BTW). Naan breads are perfect. read more

Ordered out because of lockdown. Got the chicken tikka masala, and vegetable korma; both dinners. They said it came with rice and "2" pieces of nan. The entrée sizes were about 2 cups, and they gave us about 4 cups of rice. The nan was "2 half pieces." I literally got about 5 small chunks of chicken in the tikka, and there was one chunk of cheese in the korma which was mostly peas. It was 90% sauce; I felt like I paid $25 for rice and $5 for the sauce with a few chunks of meat and some cheap vegetables. NEVER AGAIN!!! I feel extremely ripped off $30 for rice and soup! Please someone open another Indian place here! read more

Zayka is one of my favorite Indian restaurants! I get the butter chicken almost every time, it's delicious and flavorful. My mom tried the chicken korma, it had a rich nutty and yummy flavor. Garlic naan is an absolute must!! Really enjoyed the samosas and especially the paneer pakora and the sauces it comes with. They can get pretty busy but food is always out in a reasonable time. We love to sit outside, but when we can't the inside has a really cute decoration and authentic vibe. They're always open and the staff is always friendly. Love! read more

I was so happy that there is a Indian buffet in Springfield. I normally not a fans of spicy but I really love to eat Indian butter chicken curry! If you do not have experience in eating Indian food, definitely try he butter chicken. If possible, try it with naan! I like the taste of the naan with curry. For a buffet restaurant, I thought that this lunch buffet was really cheap. It only costs $11 dollar for one person. I would highly recommend you to come here for lunch if you are looking for cheap and good food. The reason why I have 4 star is because I think that the other food in the restaurant was still ok, and I think they should make something more spicy as it is an Indian restaurant. Based on my first time here - it was legit! Wait staff was on point, friendly, helpful and always checking in on the table even during peek hours on a Friday night. Food choices were great, menu was broken down real comprehensive and that means something if you've been to other Indian restaurants, there is usually like 100 items and they are all over the place with theme. But this place was orderly and the menus went by entree so it was easy to keep straight. Atmosphere was good, I'd been in this spot when it was adobe and Millie's, it's updated and has a good feel. Food was great, I ordered my spice at a 4 of 10 and it was exactly what I thought heat would be at a 4. The rice was cooked perfect, and the meals we ordered were excellent. Portions are perfect too. Not too much and not too little. The salads were weak but as a side before your entree who really cares. Beverage list was typical, nothing crazy good just your average beer and wine list.
