If you're not looking for this restaurant, you'll miss it. It's located in a strip center, but don't let that deter you from trying it. We live near Branson so we don't love eating the chain restaurants. We like to try the little holes in the wall. And this one didn't disappoint. I got the butter chicken and my husband got the chicken korma. They were both delicious! It literally hit the spot. However, we did both order the butter naan, and we should have one made one order. They give you a lot! The service was great! They were attentive and quick! We were expecting a leisurely dinner, which we could have lingered, but it was quick. No complaints there! Haven't been here in a while, but glad to be back. Was pleased but also suspicious the place was empty on a Wednesday night about an hour before closing. Service was friendly, professional and not overbearing. We started off with Chicken Tikka. A+, and the tamarind and mint sauces were spot on. Or onion kulcha was perfect also. The ONLY downside was my Lamb Biryani. Though tasted great and medium-hot as I requested, it seemed like there wasn't nearly as much lamb as previous times we've been there. This location is in a strip mall with shared parking. We were seated quickly and gave our drink order right away. The service was good and the owner came around to different tables and checked on people. He brought us a free dessert. We got wine with our meal. The veggie samosa were really good and I like it when it has a little spice to the mix. My chicken tikka masala's was good but a little lite on the chicken and the sauce was thin and not very spicy. I came here based on some Reddit reviews for Indian food in Branson, and they were spot on. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy, and the service is fantastic. They make you feel really welcome--like you're at a friend's house for dinner. I usually order Jalfrezi and have had it at a lot of places, so I know what to expect. Their chicken Jalfrezi was one of my favorites. It would've been my absolute favorite if they served beef, but I get why they don't, and that's totally fine. Honestly, I have no complaints. The atmosphere was great with most tables full and music playing quietly in the background. As for service, it was excellent. Our drinks were kept full, food came out quickly, our server (who I think may have been the owner), checked in on us during our meal on a couple of occasions and made sure we wanted for nothing! I am both both happy and glad that I don't live in or close to Branson. The reason to be happy is if I did live closer I would probably be eating here a couple of times a week, which would not be good for my waistline. Trust us, you DO want to eat here! It's a small place and filled up fast at prime mealtime. We arrived for an EARLY supper and there were only two other tables occupied. However ALL the tables were full when we left. About that WOW-FOOD: If you like lamb, several versions are on the menu and they are scrumptious. In our party of nine, five people preferred the lamb dishes, two favored the chicken korma, five of our family nearly fought over the outstanding ginger chicken (SO flavorful and not spicy), and everybody loooved the garlic naan. There is one "fair warning" --even though we requested a MILD level of hot/ spicy seasoning on several of our choices, two of our dishes were so light-you-up, spicy HOT that we couldn't eat them. Four of us came here for dinner while visiting Branson. I've had plenty of Indian food in my life and would honestly rate this as among the best I've ever had. Who would've thought in the heart of the Midwest? I had the chicken Korma with medium spice. So delicious. Nice and hot (heat wise) and it had some sweet nuggets in it that just filled out the flavors so perfectly. My husband has the Delhi chicken kahari (sp?) and loved it. Another person in our party had the chicken tikka masala and agreed with me that the food was among the best Indian he'd had. We loved the cheese naan bread and the butter naan. Hot and fresh and utterly delicious. Service was timely and proficient. Would definitely recommend this place. It's in a strip mall, so it doesn't look like much from outside. We're back...... It's been several years since we've been to SW Missouri and we could not leave town without a drive to Branson specifically to eat at the India Clay Oven. It was definitely worth the out-of-the way drive and did not disappoint! We got to the restaurant right as they opened at 11 and were the first ones in but quickly, the restaurant filled up with regulars. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, the Clay Oven Mixed Grill, Garlic Naan, a Masala tea and was given a small dish of Kheer for dessert. The food was just as amazing as we remembered. The chicken in the Tikka Masala was moist and juicy while the rich masala sauce was smooth and packed full of flavor. We ordered it as a medium heat but could have easily gone with hot heat. The tikka comes with a portion of basmati rice. The mixed grill comes on a hot cast iron skillet, sizzling, steaming and filling the room with an amazing aroma. The grill comes with shrimp, kababs, Tikka chicken and Tandoori chicken. What's not to love! The garlic naan was a great accompaniment to the meal. I like it with tikka masala sauce on it. Mmmm. And if you like rice pudding, the Kheer is a nice treat. We are so glad India Clay oven is still open and unchanged on quality. If you are ever near Branson, you should come and eat here.
