We went here actually think this was a steakhouse (like tomahawk and baked potato steakhouse). Turns out it is a cheesesteak house. That's okay--we like Cheesesteak. This place has a cool Egyptian theme there is an Egyptian sarcophagus, a cool Egyptian throne, and even Egyptian hieroglyphs cut out on panels on the ceiling. There is a bar, as well as banquette seating. The owners actually own a music studio, so there was a dj set-up in the corner. There is a courtyard with a set up for music events, and I imagine when an event is going, this place is packed. Our server was really nice, and he aimed to please. We ordered a couple of cocktails, which were really good. Hubby said the espresso martini is the best he has ever had. They are served in plastic cups, but that probably comes with it being attached to a live music venue. We each ordered the Don Cheesesteak, and it was amazing! It had the steak, provolone, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes. It came served with fries, and they were also really good--perfectly crispy. We liked the drinks and food here so much, that I see is returning again and again.

Wife & I are starting a fun date night activity exploring downtown Mesa. Walked by and was enticed in by the live music. Both ordered cheesesteaks Wife's Dom was 5/5. My Maria was 4/5 (onions weren't grilled very well. But meat & cheese were great. Drinks & fries were on point. Fun atmosphere, We might be a little old for the crowd tonight. But the band was great! Service was really good considering we were seated outside w/ a bar crowd.

The Cheesesteak Joint - Fried mushrooms

The Cheesesteak Joint

I was out running errands on a Wednesday night and was in the mood for a good cheesesteak. Decided…read moreto pull out my phone. and instead of using Yelp, I actually just punched cheesesteak into Waze, and what do you know?! I ended up finding the cheesesteak joint. This is actually a food truck, which is parked on the side of the Tipsy Catcus, which is a really cool brewery I also checked out while I was waiting for my order. I ordered the original cheesesteak with the white cheese and whiz cheese combo (I tried to order my usual provolone, but they don't offer provolone as one of the cheese choices) and the fried mushrooms. I was the only person who pulled up around six P.M. and because this was on a Wednesday night, not a Friday night, hence the low traffic. But service was really good. The young lady who helped me out was prompt, explained everything and gave me a pager, which allowed me to go inside the brewery while I waited. One thing to note, while I was talking to the owner of the tipsy cactus, he told me that Friday night and Saturday nights are usually popping. So I wouldn't expect to be first in line on any of those nights. It also looks like they rotate food trucks on different nights, so don't assume that the cheesesteak truck is going to be here every night. I would check the tipsy cactus website, or Instagram page to be sure. It took about 15 minutes for them to complete my order and when I got it home and I dug in. I was really satisfied as the food was super good. Cheesesteak was on point with the prime rib being top quality, and the fried mushrooms were well done, juicy, with a really good homemade sauce that they packed in with my order. I almost forgot about the churro I ordered. And I forgot about it because I accidentally left it in the bag in the car and didn't eat it until the next day. It didn't matter. A short blast in the microwave and this thing was killa. I'll definitely be looking forward to checking this place out again in the future.

Cute place - has about 10-12 tables. Open seating. You'll order up at the counter. We ordered: 1. Philly steak max with cheese wiz and 6 wings combo (comes with fries and drink) - we upgraded to curly fries for a small fee. And we picked Honey hot wings as our sauce of choice. 2. Philly steak max with provolone and 6 wings combo (we upgraded to fried mushrooms) and chose lemon pepper dry rub aa our wing flavor. Both got lemonade/iced tea. They have limited options for fountain drinks. Some canned soda. Cheese steaks were big - lots of meat and toppings. We liked both but we enjoyed the one with provolone more. The wings, both flavors were good! We had leftovers and put them in the air fryer later and were even better than original! The curly fries and fried mushrooms were great!!! They hit the spot - crunchy and flavorful. The wings came with ranch and veggies. So did the curly fries. We also got a Thai iced tea - special for $1.99! Overall a great experience. Will definitely come again!

Very New York style. Friendly people, the kitchen or grill is open so you can see them prepare the food. It's a long drive for me but well worth it.
