I used Dial because of their positive Yelp reviews and because they had a Yelp coupon. I had inadvertently locked the door to the laundry room in my new apartment and couldn't jimmy open the lock. I called them and they arrived within an hour. The person they sent said that I could just bust it and not incur a fee but since it is a rental, I didn't want to do that. He was able to open it without difficulty and suggested that I don't install a new one since it was not required for that door. I appreciated his honesty. He did seem annoyed that I was going to use a coupon but his tip was based on the overall price and it was prepaid via a credit card. I would recommend them without hesitation. read more

My experience was not great. Someone other than Tal was sent to help. The locksmith came with only 1 lock...so we had no choice but to take it if we wanted to have a lock on the door. We gave the locksmith a can of sparkling water, and he ended up leaving it on the floor of the building elevator. read more

Tal was really profesional and knoweldgeable. He ordered the lock I needed, and "TEXTED" me to keep me updated. * His prices included a warranty that he would return 24/7 if there were ever a problem. That made me super comfortable. I like that he gave me the option at cost for my lock with NO warranty, OR for more with the warranty and peace of mind. He even installed a 2nd lock last minute, and he had the tools/extra lock with him to do so. I was very impressed. Tal gets two thumbs up from me!! thanks buddy, Fernando, from Forest Hills :) read more

I stupidly lost my keys and called Tal. He immediately came to the rescue on a Sunday evening and within minutes I was in the apt. I also realized that I didn't bring enough money, he dropped me off at the ATM and also went above and beyond and dropped me off at my moms! Excellent customer service and great communication. Highly recommended! read more

I called this place and the guy who answered Tal was very nice and professional. I told him I needed a top lock installed on my door that can't be broken into. He told me he'd bring a few different options and we'd take it from there. He arrived in less than an hour, showed me what he recommended and also reminded me of the yelp discount. He installed the lock quickly was very courteous and I'd recommend this company to anyone needing a locksmith. I'm thinking of getting an upgrade as soon as I can afford it. He even took my credit card with no problems at all. I called Tal back after he had just left my place because I realized I needed to feel more secure & replace my bottom lock. He came quickly, installed the lock and even gave me the yelp discount again, I tried to tip him again & he refused. Such a nice, honest man. You don't get many people like him these days. Very grateful to have looked on yelp for a locksmith. read more

I was locked out of my apartment and needed a professional locksmith to pick a bottom lock. My roommates were out of town and the super of the building was not available. I should have planned for this emergency since I tend to get locked out of my home and car alot. Based on the general reviews, I thought I was getting a deal. When I called the location, they took my address and phone number. I told them that I was locked out of my apartment and not my building. I will be waiting for them in the lobby. The person on the line repeated my address but repeated the wrong address. I clarified the address. They replied "oh, ok. Locksmith will be on their way." They hung up before I asked prices. I should have called back and asked. My phone was running low on its battery and I wanted to conserve the battery. Locksmith called 15 minutes later. He said he was here and mentioned the wrong address. The person on the phone gave the locksmith the wrong address! I gave him the correct address. He said he will be on his way. (I should have said looked for a different locksmith at that point!) After an hour later, the guy comes. He looks at the lock and says it's a 5 tumbler lock and he can't pick it. He is going to have to drill through the lock and replace it. It's a $75 for the service, $100 for labor, and gonna charge me $50 for a new lock and keys. ( WHAT!?! What kind of locksmith doesn't know how to pick a lock?) I told the guy that I don't want damage the lock. He is gonna try to breach the door and charge me $175. I gave him an old credit card. Guy was really nice and was very professional. He drove all the way over so I waited for him to breach the door. As I was waiting for him to breach the door, I figured I check to see if the super was here. Luckily he was here and I was able to get into the apartment. The guy couldn't get in my apartment at all. He said he learned how to breach thru the door without breaking the lock from the army. I felt this guy was working for this company because this the kind of work he can find. He charged me only $50. He said he only takes cash even though they supposedly take credit card per the company profile. Well, I went to get cash and the guy was ok with that. I didn't try to haggle the price because I'm sure he had to give majority of the money to the company he worked for. I am giving the 2 stars for the guy because of his professionalism. I felt scammed by the company because they aren't trained and just try to take advantage of those who are locked out of their apartment. I am not going to this company and wouldn't recommend them to anybody. I hope that guy learns the trade and finds a better company to work with. read more

Joe responded immediately, was extremely helpful and honest and in no time we had a new, secure set of locks on our door. He explained everything thoroughly and cut us a good price. I'd highly recommend! read more

From the moment I moved to Kew Gardens, I saved their number in my phone. Initially I went there because I needed several copies of the keys made, and while I was there I had a few questions on locks and the installation of new locks. All my questions were answered thoroughly, and I vowed to come back after my apartment was renovated to have them change the locks. Alas, time got away from me and I never had a chance to go back. Then one cold winter evening in mid January, I finally made myself put away all the Christmas decorations while pathetically humming Christmas Carols at the thought of Christmas being over. As I dragged my tree out the door while singing "The 12 Days of Christmas" I got so distracted by the song that I didn't realize I didn't have my keys with me when I shut the door behind me. So there I am, clad in pajamas and a sweater that had my car keys in it, but not my house keys, holding a dying Christmas tree at night on a Sunday in the freezing cold. I ended up driving to my parents place, and used their phone to call Dial Locksmith to help me out. By the time I got back to my place, Tal was already there. He picked my lock quickly, and happily gave me options on the spot when I mentioned wanting to change them out. Basically, it took me getting locked out of my apartment in the winter to finally change my locks. Tal was professional, courteous, and I appreciated him giving me a breakdown of the price for all services, which was very reasonable compared to other locksmiths I've dealt with in the past. I will definitely be coming to them for any future lock issues. Hopefully they won't be in the winter again. read more

Fast, great service and reasonably priced. Changed the locks quick with no issues. Joseph is professional and has 30 years experience. Will use again in the future read more

I needed a new and better lock for the door to my apartment so going out on a limb due to Kevin C's review, I called them up. I was given the price of the lock options on the phone and then how much the service cost (which was pretty much the normal price based on what I've seen online for multiple services). Joe arrived the next day, installed it for me and put extra care into making sure that everything clicked closed and open smoothly. I've had previous experiences where the locksmith didn't do a great job lining everything up so we had to jimmy with the key to get it to close or open. This guy made sure that didn't happen. $200 for mul-t-lock + jimmyproof deadbolt (the one with the flat blue topped key) $40 for installation service No hidden charges, price on the phone was the same the next day. I am a happy customer! read more

This company was fast, very professional, and very very courteous. I really can't stress how courteous and kind the woman in their office was. We had several phone calls back and forth, and she was just a pleasure to deal with. I locked myself out of my apartment at 8 pm last night, and they had staff on call that made it my place in barely 1/2 hour. The pricing for an after hours call was not bad at all, and in fact was quite a bit cheaper than other local companies. They are a nice mom and pop local Queens company that has a store selling locks and equipment as well. I highly recommend them! I used a Yelp discount, and even though there was a slight issue with the pricing when the locksmith came to my home to do the work, it was addressed right away that very same evening by the office when I called, and this morning she took the time to call me and text me a copy of the refund receipt for the discrepancy in price. they honored the Yelp discount completely, and in fact were very helpful in explaining how it worked when I made the original call for service. read more

I was in deep need of an effective, but affordable locksmith (when you think about the high cost associated with such a service) who could assist me in installing a lock in a door lock hole. After reading reviews for many locksmiths, "Always Ready Locksmith" / "Dial Locksmith Service" (the same company) caught my attention. I called yesterday (12/9/2017) Leo expressing what I need and what I want (to install a new lock by switching the cylinder with my high security cylinder). Leo kindly walked me through the process regarding the best option as well as an affordable price. He came in today (12/10/2017) to work on this hole; not only Leo did the work in a timely fashion manner, but the work was well done. He did exactly what I wanted, I couldn't be more happier. THANK YOU SO MUCH LEO!! YOU'RE THE MAN! I Highly recommend "Always Ready Locksmith" / "Dial Locksmith Service" for whoever who want a job well done and affordable without being ripped off. I'll be using them again. THE BEST LOCKSMITH EVER!! read more

I originally used them on referral and although I think it was a little expensive for what I got, Joe did a good job of installing new cylinders. He told me that the deadbolt would eventually need to be changed. Fast forward 1 year later, called them to replace deadbolt. A locksmith appeared but his paperwork had a different name on it from a different company, same as another reviewer stated. I called Dial and their explanation was they have different letterheads. I feel they sent a different company to do the job and they tried to overcharge me for a cheaper lock. He only had the one so I cancelled the job. Still charged me $20 for call. read more

I love these guys. Here's why: 1) I recently bought an apartment in the neighborhood and had them change my locks. They were nice, professional, affordable, and knowledgeable, and they came to my apartment the same day I called to request a lock change. 2) It's a family-owned business that has been in the neighborhood for a long time. In addition to the locksmith service, it's a small hardware store with competitively priced items. I showed up with a list, and Tal walked me through the store collecting everything for me. 3) They remembered my name when I went back. If I need something, I will go there first. If they have it, they will get my business. They did have most of what I needed. read more

I just moved to Kew Gardens and my last chore was to get a good, new lock for my front door. The previous tenant had left a bad lock and a butchered door frame. I found Dial Locksmith Services on Lefferts Blvd. after a friend mentioned he used them. Joe there was super nice and set me up the next day with a great lock at a fair price. He had to work extra hard because of the mess left with the door= frame but insisted on "doing it right." Good old school quality that's fair and rare these days. read more

We all know how sketchy NY can be. Although this neighborhood is predominately Jewish, being from the south I am always a little leery of walking around Queens. I got locked out of my new apartment and ended up here which was the closest locksmith that I could find. When I arrived I was greeted promptly and the owner and his wife were both trying to help me. The customer service couldn't have been better. The owner personally came with me to my apartment, opened my lock, and I still made it to work on time. He was kind, considerate, and most of all efficient. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or his services. read more

Tal was great! Seriously this guy was super amazing. Professional, upfront with everything he was going to do, and the cost of everything. But he was completely straight forward. Came right in, broke down my options and was done within minutes. Amazing service, and will now for certain be my go to locksmith. read more

Update: the owner called me and asked me for more details because she wants all her clients to be 100% satisfied. Which I think shows she cares about her clients and is committed to customer service. Thank you. read more

I recently moved into the Kew Gardens neighborhood and was looking for a good locksmith to install a new lock on my front door. I walked into Dial Locksmith Service and was greeted by Tal and Joe. Both fellows were friendly, knowledgable of their craft and services and welcomed my fiancé and I to the neighborhood. When I explained what I was looking for Joe quickly shared the best options with me. My fiancé and I wanted a quick installation since we would be traveling for the upcoming holiday break and Tal said that he could install the lock that very same day, an hour before their closing time. Tal immediately came to the apartment and quickly installed the lock effortlessly. I was so impressed with their quick work and honest business. I highly recommend Dial Locksmith Service and will use their services again. Tal and Joe are great to work with and have excellent customer service! read more

I was in a bad situation I must of called the office or # but they were so fast to respond I was in shock . Being that I am a person that goes to the gym at 5:30 am . Great customer service, honest trustworthy and polite. Very satisfied with the professional service I received. Would highly recommend.

Locked my keys in my trunk 1 hour before I had to get my kids from daycare. After getting the runaround from another locksmith I called this store and Tal answered. Gave me an absolutely reasonable price over the phone, said he'd be there in 10 minutes. Arrived 6 minutes later (no joke), and had me in my vehicle in 30 seconds. Took my card and I was on my way to get my kids. Not even late. Professional, courteous, respectful. Gave me his card. Reached out to him to have a key made for my van. He did it for me on a Sunday. Once again said it would take at least an hour. He was done in less than 20 minutes. This guy is one in a million. I highly highly recommend. read more

Excellent neighborhood hardware store with very fast service to make new keys. And they have low prices on other household items.
