Terrible service. The staff is the rudest of any courier I've ever been yo around the world! One person threatened to not have my package sent out -- the audacity of this DHL staff member to make an arbitrary decision whether or not a paying customer's package would be shipped out that afternoon or not -- I have never experienced such ghastly service. I let her know I wouldn't be returning ever, and she didn't care - claimed they had more business than they could handle. Good for them, but I won't be there customer ever again. The only reason I had gone there is because some phone-based rep had offered me a huge discount to use them over FedEx or UPS, but now I see why they need to discount their services. Just read all the reviews on DHL. I must concur with all the one star reviews. Tracking number shows 3 days of attempted delivery. My security cameras shows 0 delivery person or vehicles for all 3 days. 2 of which reports unable to deliver due to bad weather... in So CAL pwahahah! (reported approx. 2pm - 3pm pst on all 3 attempts). It's been 80-90 degree F clear days and minimal traffic here. What's this "Undeliverable due to bad weather"?? Contacted DHL support via chat system to a live person, and they just report what was on the Tracking report site. Finally informed the 2nd chat live person bot..or whatevs, that there is great here, what is this Bad weather? And then asked if I can leave a review or survey, his response was "That is the reason why I sent the email to check the driver's GPS." Finally called DHL VAN NUYS... an hour away from my place.. "i cant sit at home all day for these false delivery attempts. I had a package held for pickup at this location and it couldn't have been more difficult. It took two attempts to retrieve it and about an hour of waiting. The employees behind the counter were really nice and trying their best, but the pickup system is flawed. And the parking lot is 1000x more chaotic than a Trader Joe's. Cars are stacked haphazardly and some people just park in the middle driveway because they give up and just need to get inside. So you never know if you're going to be able to get your car out at the end of your ordeal. I think I'll take my chances of just letting them deliver when I'm not home from now on... read more

DHL was at one time my go to shipping company for intl. shipments. had a packaged delivered that was supposed to be 2-boxes. 1-box arrived and the second box sat at the Van Nuys hub for several days. Good luck also speaking with a rep. So disappointing. They do have a solution though. Drive down to the hub a nice two hour round trip with no recourse. The Van Nuys hub is a joke read more

Terrible delivery service, deliver my 500$ item to a wrong address, got the wrong person sign on it. I spent 3 hours to finally got a specialist call me but end up told me I have to wait for over a weekend to just get for the driver to possibly retrieve it from the wrong address on next Monday. No accountability, bad afterwards service system, never choose them in any cases. Their drivers are the laziest, worst service you can ever had, 0 effort in finding location and doing the basic jobs, they have 100 ways to do their job right but "luckily"they would rather choose the worst one to make you feel difficult and make your item lost. read more

How does this place even have above 2 stars? How is DHL not in a billion lawsuits. We are waiting for a important legal document to come from India and every night we get false emails about not being able to deliver because premises was closed and the next day we call 10 times and have supervisors tell us that the package will be delivered before 5pm and the next day we get the same exact update. This is a 100% scam and they either lost the package or it really is not at the van nuys facility and are doing this to buy time. This company is a complete scam. The address and name for recipient is a business and the address shows that it is a office building. They know that the building closes at 6pm, so they wait until 6:30 or after and send a notification that they were unable to deliver. This has cost huge monetary loses due to not being able to receive the legal document at our escrow in time. read more

Service sucks!! I requested a package be delivered on a specific date as I needed to be home to receive it. There's been lots of theft lately and that was the only day I had off to get it and these people marked it as "attempted to deliver but no one was home" bullsh*t . We were definitely home. It's getting really tiring to constantly see this message not just from DHL but delivery companies in general. I don't get why they even have that option to schedule the delivery on a specific day if they're not even going to try to make that delivery. Get it together DHL!!!! I was home all freaking day for this but I should also mention I have multiple cameras and a dog that would've alerted me but of course these drivers never came and tried. Same problem over and over. When I tracked the package it says "Awaiting collection by the consignee". The driver entered in the system that he was here but no one was here so he took the envelope back, which is a total lie. I was here all day without leaving my home office. The last driver (or the same driver) did the same thing 5 times and after yelling at DHL customer service, claim department, and Van Nuys office, it was finally delivered but it took 10 days from when it arrived at Van Nuys office. I will tell this Chilean supplier to use FedEx too because I never had such a problem with them. If you experience a similar problem, you should call the claims department at 800-280-4157. read more

The online service was horrible, the last person ,which I tried to explain him what I needs, couldn't speak English and didn't understand me and because of that I decided to drive to DHL office which the closest one was 20 miles far from my house. I received a notice saying the driver couldn't deliver my package because no one was home. 1. I have cameras on both doors. The driver lied. They did not attempt to drop off my package. 2. If they had they would have seen that I filled out the forms so they didn't need a signature and should have just left it. 3. I was here all day. It was super easy to find. You get buzzed in, and when you are inside you go to the counter and provide your order number. You wait for a little while they get your package and upon return, they check your ID and if everything matches you get your package. Friendly and fast service! read more

Wow have things changed! Don't get me wrong- there are still some lazy drivers here and there but overall the STAFF at the actually facility are truly nice and help as much as they can. I've decided to pick up my packages 9/10 times. It's easier on me and I can get my packages early in the morning almost every time. Sometimes the drivers load up and leave early lol. I do wish there was a more streamlined way to be able to hold my packages at the Van Nuys location without calling but that's more of a system issues. Overall if you have the option pick up your package in the morning! They open at 9 but usually you can get in around 8:40! read more

First time using DHL to have package delivered. Same issue as most other reviews in that they notify you that they attempted to deliver but nobody was home. I'm home all day and my cameras recorded NO DHL person/truck even coming close to my vicinity. An absolute shame to these drivers or whoever is in charge because they clearly don't want to do their job. Horrible experience! Package that I paid $600 to be delivered in four days took two months and an extra $600 because a woman at the front desk named "Mitra" filled out the form wrong and it got held by customs Claiming that that I lied on the form. I sent them receipts of everything showing that the entire thing didn't cost more than $65 but because the agent at the front desk messed up the form they held my feet to the fire telling me to pay the same amount as I paid for the shipping or they will destroy the package. It took 37 emails endless hours on the phone and obviously an extra $600 for me to be able to send this package to the destination . And once DHL figured out that they messed up, they kept telling me to talk to different departments and finally told me it is not their problem that I should deal with customs because they already got paid and their job is done. I WISH My experience could be different and I would have a positive feedback. I was treated in the WORST fashion and had to pay for it and many different ways. DHL said they left because there was no one on the first day, so on the second day I left my phone number on the front door and waited all day but they said they left again. Worst service I have ever experienced we are going on the 4th business day without my package being delivered 6th .I just got off the phone with DHL they say my package is not scheduled for delivery it is on hold and they have to put in a request for it to be delivered so that it may be delivered tomorrow . MIguel saved me today and I'm so thankful to him. My order from the UK was mistakenly stuck in customs. I visited this location and explained my dilemma to him. Within an hour Miguel had the package released and sent me an email confirming this, as he had said he would. I have been extremely disappointed in the poor customer service from DHL. My package, coming from Europe, arrived at the Van Nuys, California facility on Monday. I noticed on tracking it had not moved all day, so I had a chat with a representative on Tuesday. They said they didn't know why it was just setting there, and would have it delivered that same day. When the package didn't show up, I contacted a supervisor the following day (Wednesday). I was told the package was not delivered, and that they would escalate it for an early delivery that same day. Now it is 2 pm, and it is still not here. I called to complain again, and was told they could not give me any timeframe of what time it will be delivered. Hard to believe this company can stay in business. I would never recommend using this company to anyone who wants a package delivered in a timely fashion. read more
