I live really close, so it's really convenient to pop in for a bag of wood or other little trinkets I may need. I'll address the staff issue first, I've never ever ever had an issue with any of the employees here. They've all been very nice, very accommodating and very helpful. And I don't think it's just because I'm a familiar face, I honestly think that's just their ethic. There's been quite a few times that they don't have specific things that I need, and all the other hand, sometimes they have what other big box stores don't. So it's kind of a gamble. Generally the things they don't have, are for one of our houses that is super old. I've been an ace rewards member for probably close to 20 years. I'm constantly getting discounts via the app and coupons sent through the mail, and I've also been able to compound all of my rewards points, with other special offers. One time I came in here and I bought $40 worth of stuff, and with all the discounts, and knocked it down to just under 13 bucks! As long as I continue to live in the area, I'll be continuing my regular visits at this Ace hardware! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. The best hardware store!…read more Sometimes I can find the apecial things I need that NONE of the big box stores stock, like 36" watter supply lines for a bathroom sink! That staff is always on point, helpful, greet you, the whole nine yards of customer service. They have that down to a science. I try to go here and support the local ownership, and the pies are magnificent. Online ordering for delivery or pickup is polished and fast. Bix box stores, take note.

We finally found the merchandise we wanted. We went to pay. We showed our valid government issued IDs which has our age on it verifying we're also Seniors, and our Veterans ids which documents we are also disabled. Clerk, robustly unapologetic; says NO Military Discount or Senior Discount. YET, we had gone there ONLY because Big R publicly boasts their ruse that they have a "Military Discount" and a "Senior Discount" with: "Do you offer a Military Discount? Big R is proud to support our military. Everyday, enlisted and veteran military personnel with valid ID will receive 5% off their purchase of clothing and footwear and 3% off everything else at Big R. This discount applies to regularly priced items only. We also offer a verified Military Insider program that allows you to shop online and receive your discount. To create an account visit one of our locations." "Do you offer a Senior Citizen Discount? Yes! Every second Tuesday of the month is Senior Tuesday. On this day, customers 62 and older with a valid government issued ID will receive up to 10% off their purchase. Available in stores only." We boldly left the merchandise and walked out because I believe that I as a customer have a lot of clout. I WON'T be back as I do NOT support business that doesn't support our GIs and me as a Veteran. This Big R location is AGAIN doing false advertising and AGAIN doing a Bait-and-Switch which is a Nevada NRS 598 illegal Deceptive Trade Practice. NRS 598.0917. Violators face penalties such as civil fines up to $10,000 per violation. Penalties for violating NRS 598: For individuals: Penalties can range from a misdemeanor for a first offense to a gross misdemeanor for a second, and a category D felony for the third and subsequent offenses. For businesses: A civil penalty of up to $10,000 for each violation can be imposed. For consumers: An individual who is harmed by a deceptive trade practice can bring a civil lawsuit and may be able to recover damages and attorney's fees. NRS 598.0973 allows courts to impose a higher civil penalty, up to $25,000, for deceptive trade practices directed at an elderly or disabled person. As my Yelp friend Tess M. left a compliment for my review of Big R "Big R, yeah BIG ripoff, false advertising but most important disrespect for those who've selflessly served our country. SHAME on Big R!" P.S. Don't message me because in spite of my several complaints to yelp, for years now I am unable to open up any messages in yelp to me :-(

He received all the help he needed, but my experience was completely different. The moment I picked up an item in the camping aisle and handed it to my husband, who was carrying the basket, I noticed employees watching me. One employee kept their eyes on me for over 10 minutes. It got to the point where I had to make eye contact and stare back because I felt so uneasy. As a brown Asian customer shopping with my Caucasian husband, I couldn't help but feel like I was being singled out. The employees were constantly talking on their radios while watching me. They may have thought they were being subtle, but it was obvious. Whether intentional or not, I was left feeling as though I was being treated like I was stealing, and it completely ruined my shopping experience. No customer should leave a store feeling singled out or uncomfortable. This happened roughly 2-3 weeks ago, and I haven't been back since. Even though the store is only about a minute from my house, I refuse to shop there again. There are plenty of other places that know how to treat customers with respect.

To be honest, this locations seems to have a lot of issues, especially with sanitation…read more I visited to get some parts for my toilet which they had in stock. It took a second to find as toilet repair is next to new toilets and separate from plumbing which makes sense. The service wasn't great, no employee ever spoke to me the entire visit, but I also didn't seek out any assistance and don't blame them for going about their work. However, I noticed a lot of birds chirping and flying around inside and a few products and places inside were covered in bird poop. I suppose this is an expected hazard when running a Home Depot, and I decided to go get some firewood and bird seed for my back yard. Outside the firewood and most of the products in the garden sections are severely weathered, worn, and are completely covered in bird droppings and seemed pretty disgusting. I decided to skip buying anything outside and went inside to get bird seed. When I approached the bird seed you could hear loud squeaking and I saw 3-4 mice eating all the bird food and jumping in between the racks. The bags had holes and there was seed and rodent droppings everywhere. I tried to see if maybe there was an untouched bag at the bottom but the entire inventory was also covered in rodent urine. Pretty disgusted, I decided to just buy the toilet parts and leave. There is no hand sanitizer anywhere and I stead of trying to go to the restroom to wash my hands I paid and left and got some sanitizer from my car. To be honest, this experience has definitely affected whether or not I would return, I probably won't until there is a bit better quality control with products and sanitation. The prices are good and the customer service is par for the course. They installed a new self checkout area which comes with more work for you and reduced staffing, but the products and quality has taken a nosedive.
