Luis did a giant project for us and he was AMAZING! He paid attention to every detail and was so kind and attentive. I will never do another project without Luis again!!

We worked with DFW Improved to completely gut, redesign and build our master bathroom and the experience can only be described as sensational! Having never tackled a project this big, we were cautious in deciding who we wanted to work with. However, it was clear from our first in-home meeting with Debra Fitzhugh that the team not only values quality, but also establishing genuine connection and trust with their clients. We had several meetings with Debra to discuss design options for our bathroom redesign. The original layout was extremely cramped, with two non-functional built-in closet rooms taking up the bulk of the already small space. We got the opportunity to brainstorm with Debra about possible solutions. Accounting for our wants and needs, she drew up three new layouts for us to review, clearly breaking down the price of each. By the time we made our design decisions, we were fully informed about the construction process, who we'd be working with, and price/schedule estimates. DFW Improved wants you to feel confident and impowered before making any decision. We next met with Sarah Davis in the showroom to select materials for our bathroom. We had a general idea of what we wanted, but it was Sarah's mastery of color, texture, and design that helped us make creative and decisive decisions. Her extensive experience with materials allowed her to take our nebulous ideas and create something that worked within our price point. Additionally, upon discovering that the tile we had chosen was on backorder, she coordinated with us and the vendor to get us new tile that still beautifully matched with our design schematic. As our project manager, we spent the most time with Shane Harvey, who exceeded expectations for us at every step. He was in constant communication with us and checked in on our project daily, most times in person. Whenever there was a new contractor in our house, he was there to introduce us to them, align them with our vision, and make sure everyone had what they needed to stay on schedule. If we had questions or concerns about what was happening with our reno, he would happily provide insight and solutions. We learned a lot about the construction process from our frequent conversations with him. It was clear throughout that Shane's priority was getting our project done and quickly as possible without cutting any corners in terms of craftsmanship. Beyond the exceptional professionalism, the entire team put forth effort to get to know us personally. For example, Debra noticed that I didn't have space to store my clothing during the reno and leant me her own clothing racks for me to use during the project. We truly consider each of them friends. Overall, I would recommend DFW Improved to anyone who wants a superior experience at every step in the process. If you are looking for a team that will work WITH you to execute your vision, these are your people. We are looking forward to our next project with them! https://www.dfwimproved.com/portfolio/modern-bathroom-remodel-plano-texas/

November 5 request for estimate to be sent via the forward button.

In home appointment scheduled - October 8, 2019 I was told I would have the estimate/proposal tomorrow. I requested the estimate from Jason Storm multiple times. This in home consultation was scheduled prior to the tornados in Dallas(fun fact). Notice in the last email he states that "he had to change a few things" This estimate came in $25,000.00 higher than the other estimates I received. My kitchen will be $32,000 with my current contractor. But $57,000 seriously. I am guessing they are just out to suck as much $ as possible out of you. If I had to request this crap estimate 3 times and was lied to before the process even started......why would I give them my money. Pictures attached since the company seems to try and dispute everything in the reviews. Please note estimate date says November 6th and Jason was at my home October 8th Also, please note that I requested the original email be sent in a forward (this was to prove if technology was the problem) and it was not. If you can't follow through on your estimates and checking with the clients to see if they had any questions then you certainly won't provide $57,000 service.

    Kitchen - Before reno

DFW Improved (Project Mgr. Miguel Perez) performed a major renovation of our kitchen along with minor renovations of other rooms. The final results are stellar and we couldn't be happier with our remodeled house. It did take much longer than originally planned (7 vs. 3 months) and, of course we ran into some hiccups along the way. The Project Manager usually stopped by once per day and was available to call after that. We did keep an eye on the activities and contacted the PM when we saw issues. Miguel Perez was very easy to work with. He paid attention to our concerns and responded quickly. We had a detailed contract in place and they adhered to the contract. Any additional costs were agreed in advance, but there were few of those. They came in with a reasonable price and stuck to it. After the remodel, we had two issues that could not have been expected. They came out and fixed the issues quickly and without argument. That means a lot!

I was referred to DFW Improved by a very trusted source. They had a very favorable experience. Ours was opposite. One of the things I felt DFW Improved offered that was perfect for us, and our schedules was a skilled project manager that would help manage our project and be our eyes and ears as craftsmen came & went from our home. I was lead to believe he would be in our home daily to provide direction, follow up on craftsmen to make sure the work was completed to a professionally acceptable level and that the craftsmen cleaned up after themselves. Our project manager did not come behind every craftsman that worked in our home and suffered from the ability to follow up on outstanding items if not reminded and missed unacceptable conditions left behind by DFW Improved "professional" craftsmen. The lack of attention to detail was astonishing. My project manager missed HUGE areas of issues: messed up paint jobs, holes in my walls, poor patching/texture work, cracked tiles, chunks of drywall missing, loose can lights, poorly painted trim, sloppy grout work, and cleaning up after these professionals for the middle two months fell to us. We did not get what we paid for. Our expectations were not met. Proceed with caution. Write everything down; they won't. Save every text, every email, and document every conversation. Your memory will be questioned, what you said will be misconstrued to be used against you. They will tell you that you don't remember correctly or that you said something you never said. They will try to mislead you ("if you want it to latch, it won't open correctly"). They will try to talk you out of previously approved & requested items (like a corner seat in my shower that was part of the scope but the project manager felt I shouldn't have it installed). They will forget what you chose in the showroom (evidence: my grout debacle). There will be more "confusion" that you will have to straighten out than you can possibly comprehend. They don't know how to apologize until you have to call an owner. Be prepared to argue, because they love to - they apparently do not operate under the customer service guideline in which the customer is always right. I don't expect DFW Improved to "like" it, but the whole point of reviews is to get someone else's feedback on an experience with a service or product provider. This is my story, and it's not a good one. It doesn't come with sunshine and rainbows. It came with rain clouds, and headaches and all the complications, arguments, and discontent were the ongoing inabilities to feel like we were getting professional craftsmanship and a professional project manager to manage our project. I understand overlooking an item or two, we're not perfect human beings, but these were HUGE items overlooked. In the end, most all were completed to a satisfactory level, but not without a fight, arguments, and constant pushing by us. I signed a completion affidavit that gave me two options: 1. Completely satisfied or 2. There are outstanding items. I altered the affidavit. I was not completely satisfied, but they wore us down. We were out of fight, and although not completely satisfied, it's easier to move on with our lives and fix the sloppy work they left behind than it is to continue to drag this out. I have plenty of specific examples to back up my claims should anyone feel they need more detail - pm me. Buyer beware. The photos speak for themselves.
