So, Air Duct Cleaning has alot of negativity around it. TV specials about providers adding on services that are un-needed, shady work and up charges galore! Found an online coupon for a $49 basic duct cleaning. Basic cleaning is a very simple vacuum suction on 1 vent to "pull" from all the others. This will get the very loose dirt. Was recommended to "Clean" the vents. Being I have looked in the vents myself and ran my hand inside, I could see this is possible. Each Vent was $20 each, Return was $35 each. 1 return was less than 2 years old, the other was clean already. They did not push to do them, as we all could see they are fine. Opted to move forward with the cleaning. This is a brush attached to a drill in which is ran through the duct work to loosen and release the caked on dirt and dust. Was recommended and offered a sanitizing solution to be blown into the duct work. This solution is to help with allergies and overall air quality. This was $169, but was thrown in. The entire process was down within about 45 minutes. Vents are cleaner, allergy solution is..well sprayed. Hard to have an option as it is really an unseen benefit. They do offer a 1 year warranty on the spary and offered to re-apply/spray in a year for free. Overall job cost was $250. Being the vents have probably never been done, and this is something you only do ever few years I felt the cost was appropriate. Negative: Messy! Way more messy than anticipated. After the solution was sprayed we need to run the system for 2 additional hours. During this time, dust blew throughout the entire house. I know this as we had house cleaners who dusted everything less that 2 hours before and EVERYTHING was covered! The dust was so bad in the master bedroom that I actually put a towel over the vent to block it. Plus there was remained drywall/paint/stucco that had fallen off the vents when they were removed. There were also some wet spots where the allergy solution spray machine was sitting. Not a major deal, but a missed detail. This was less of a concern than the dust throughout the entire house. read more

The crew arrived. 2 Men. We have 2 units. They told me first they have to shut off all the vents except one to create suction. As the went to the other side of the house, they only closed half of the vent. They forgot the rest. As they started opening them, they realized. They did leave 3 open and could have not created enough suction. I called and talked to manager after 5 attempts. He said, well we are not supposed to close them all up. Either way, They made a mistake. Because on one side, they closed it up. On the other side they did not. I don't think the crew really knew what they are doing. Came out earlier than expected, which was great. Michael was very friendly, however, I was using a Groupon, and it was then communicated to me it was only good for a "maintenance" cleaning. After Michael's inspections, he informed me that I needed a full service cleaning, which would have cost $450+. Unfortunately, I could not afford that at this time. I will say that he worked to try and give me discounts to get that work done, which I appreciate, but I had to keep telling him that I just wanted whatever the Groupon covered at this point. Today I called Az Air cleaners and needed some info about the inside of my ducts. I believe it was David that answered the phone. This is a true professional! He knew exactly what I was talking about (rust inside the ducting from a previous a/c water leak). He took his time and gave me my options & advice..mostly to clean them out w/a shop vac & seal the inside of the ducting. Moved to this new apartment and quickly noticed that the ventilation was musty and found out from our apt manager that they never clean them out. I went with the full package which involved running the drill with the wire brush attachment along the ventilation to loosen the dirt/debris, a thorough vacuuming of each supply vent and the return vent, and spraying a plant-based sanitizing solution through the return vent. David did a great job and explained the process step-by-step since this was my first time using this kind of a service (even though he's likely had to explain the same things hundreds of times over the years). I am satisfied with the service performed - David was thorough and even cleaned up after (vacuumed the floor of the supply events after finishing). From my experience there are a lot of companies that will inspect your HVAC system but only a few that offer the ventilation cleaning service as well. From my experience apartment managers inspect and maintain the coils to ensure the AC system lasts but won't clean/sanitize the system or vents, which from reading online is pretty important for efficiency of the HVAC system and for air quality. He explained different things that we could do in the future to not have to have our a/c and ducts cleaned as often, by buying a better air filter. I Purchased a Living Social deal to have these guys come out. When I called the company to make the appointment, I was told that my second a/c unit ductwork would be an extra charge. That seemed fair to me so I set the appointment. The guys that came out were very professional and got right to work. They were finished within an hour and as far as I know, our ducts are now clean. However, the lead tech did come back to my husband and I during the process a couple of times to try to 'up sell' us on other services such as an anti-fungal treatment. I do understand that this is part of their job so we did not mind and politely declined it. The reason for the three star rating is simply because we were told during one of these 'sale pitches' that if we gave them a good rating and review on Yelp that we would get $100 off our bill if we added services on. I feel that this practice goes against what Yelp stands for. I always check Yelp before hiring for services and I feel that this type of practice is misleading. It makes me wonder if Yelp is really beneficial to me anymore after this experience. read more

I am giving Arizona Air Cleaners five stars for their OUTSTANDING customer service and the professionalism and cleaning job they did for me! I was needing to get my air ducts clean as I am about to have a newborn in the house and decided to give them a try. When I called I was presented with two options, basic cleaning and a sanitized cleaning. I was only looking for a basic cleaning at the time so I went with that option. I was given a time and told I would be called 30 minutes prior to arrival. All of this happened like they said it would and the tech, David, was even early which was perfect for me. David was very professional and answered all of my questions as well. During the cleaning there was a mishap where the air vent door fell and damaged the wall. Normally I would have been upset but the way they handled the situation was absolutely the definition of how customer service should be! They offered to upgrade my service no charge and were very generous with the final price. Things happen, but it is good to know that this company will go above and beyond to make sure their customers are satisfied!
