Dewey's has some unique and scrumptious pizzas! Their crust is thin and airy. The toppings- you can choose your own or they have these awesome combinations. I would recommend getting one of their specialty pizzas that are listed. I usually get sausage or margherita pizza. I tried the create your own with red sauce, mozzarella, and sausage. I will say that was the only part I did not like- the sausage. It was not in ground sausage style but more like slices. It also was oily and a bit chewy. I am hoping it was just that one instance. Either way, when I go back I will just get one of their specialty pizzas because those are good! My friends brought me here because they had the taco pizza. This was quite the creation- fritos, meat, lettuce, tomatoes. It tasted like a taco, but on a pizza. It was a bit rich for me, but I loved the creativity and the delivery was spot on! I just like a more traditional pizza. I think my friends mentioned that they change which specialty pizzas they have monthly or something like that. I think it's great that they mix up the menu. It is busy but they do have a free parking lot. They are adequately staffed and I must give a shout out to the staff because they're all so friendly! My favorite local pizza place for me and me and my kids :-) It's the only place my two boys can stand on chairs without their Mom (me) saying anything, as they watch the flying pizza dough in kitchen window :-) Last Wednesday my boyfriend and I had dinner there .I had their Harvest salad with figs, goat cheese, pumpkins...Yumm!! We shared (um more like inhaled) a half & half pizza with seasonal "Italian" favorite and Edgar Allen Poe. The food was excellent and the service attentive but not intrusive... I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dewey's Pizza. When I come home, everyone knows we have to go to Dewey's. The service is always outstanding! Everyone always takes care of different tables, so it doesn't feel like you are assigned one server to "section". The food has never been below excellent. The pizzas are loaded with good, fresh ingredients and they have very unique flavors. One favorite is the Edgar Allen Poe (for garlic lovers), which has lots of kalamata olives, full garlic cloves, goat cheese, chunks of fresh tomato, and parsley after the bake. It is incredible. I also love that they do 1/2 and 1/2 pizzas, so my fiance and I can each get the pizza we want, but also share one size. The house salad also has to be one of the best salads EVER! Their house dressing is awesome with the spring mix, goat cheese, cranberries, and pine nuts. We tried to call ahead to see how long the wait was because we have a newborn, but they told us to check on the Yelp app and mark our place online. However so could find where that is so we showed up. There's almost no waiting area space and it was super crowded. I pushed my way to get to the hostess only to find out there was a line of people just to put our name in. I asked the bartenders but they had no idea how long the wait was. Dewey's, Dewey's, Dewey's. How much did I miss you? A lot apparently. Let me back up. I used to live in Cincy, in Oakley. I was there when Dewey's in Oakley Square first opened. So this is going back 12 or so years. Used to eat at this location (especially cause it was the only one for a while), and claimed it as some of the best craft pizza I have ever had. I literally said this for years and years after moving out of OH, and always thinking about it. I was was fortunate enough to recently go through Cincy for a business trip. After my flight and a quick visit of my old house and such, it was 5 pm and I was starving, so decided to go to the Dewey's I knew (original plan was go to go Dewey's in Columbus as that's where I needed to be for work). So glad I choose this plan. First, inside hasn't changed. I don't mean that negatively. Didn't look run down or anything, just how I remembered it. What did change was the beers on tap......they were all local. Say what? That's new! (to me). Very cool. I ordered the harvest salad (very good) then a small 1/2 1/2 of Green Lantern (the mother of all pizzas) and the other half Edgar Allen Poe. Insanity I tell you. So freakin good. It did not disappoint. Sometimes what you remember is shattered by updated taste buds, other....but I'm so glad that Dewey's will live on in my head as one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Not a bad place to try some pizza. Kinda cool that you can see them tossing the dough and making the pizzas fresh. I have been to both the Dewey's in Oakley and Clifton since they each opened many years ago, so I have a pretty good feel for how they are. I think when it comes to pizza it all comes down to each person's preferred style and tastes. For me, I'm not the biggest fan of their pizzas. To me I like going more with my family or friends for a decent meal. To be honest, I much more prefer their salads. They are a very neglected part of their menu that is definitely worth a try. Either way, I say go with friends/family for dinner. I'm sure there will be some sort of specialty pizza or salad well worth the trip. I've been to the Newport on the Levee location and Crestview Hills location in addition to this one. I like the Crestview Hills location the best in terms of space and service. If I came to the area again I would probably go to a non-chain restaurant just because there are so many in this area and I like to eat locally where possible. Great pizza, salads, and people! The Oakley location is the original location, and we've been going more-or-less since it opened. The location is nice. It's clean with a window into the kitchen. Great for kids who like to watch the pizza made--the bakers often throw flower at the window (much to my daughter's amusement. They have a bar with a few choices of wine and beer (some local microbrews). There is also a great selection of salads. All have gormet ingredients on them. The pizza, however, is the start of the show. The crust is light and warm. Not quite pastry-style, it really is good bread. Sauce choices are red sauce, or garlic and olive oil. Dewey's is the only place I know of that lets you ask for the sauces half-and-half. The toppings are both diverse and high in quality. You can easily do pizza classics (pepperoni, Italian, etc.), or make your own (with artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, and other great choices). I find the prices to be reasonable relative to other pizza places. They have several Cincinnati-are locations, as well as locations in St. Louis. read more

I dislike Kenwood Dewey's for lack of consistency and overall morale of the staff and there is a common denominator and it's a short blonde hair manager. The combo of goat cheese, olives, garlic, tomatoes on a delicious crust is divine, I end up eating the leftovers for breakfast. The Greek Salad is also a fave if you are watching your carbs and love garlic. Get ready for big roasted cloves to support the greens (throw in some grilled chicken if you like) and homemade red pepper dressing. Plan ahead - your order will take 30-45 minutes and they don't deliver. I would like for them to consider opening for lunch on Sundays when you would like to while away an afternoon after a kid soccer game or church with beer and gorgeous pizza. Dewey's will always have a special place with me because it was the first pizza in Cincinnati I found that I really liked. In fact, I discovered Dewey's before moving to Cincy. This is our neighborhood location and it is definitely your typical Dewey's experience. The service is always helpful and polite...although I will admit to being slightly weirded out by the fact that multiple waiters serve each table. While the waitstaff is nice, for me it kind of takes away the tiny connection one makes with their server. The husband thinks it is more efficient so I'm sure that I'm probably the only person on the planet bothered by this. The food is always good and they have a surprising draft list. On my last visit I had a nitro Left Hand Milk Stout...it was smooth and delicious. The ability to order half and half pizzas no matter the sauce used (they have both a traditional red sauce base in addition to a white base option) is helpful since I often want a pizza completely different than the husband. They are masters of the half and half. You will find no errant mushrooms! They also have salads and calzones - but I haven't personally explored those yet. Despite it being on Oakley Square, we have never had issues parking and they have their own designated lot. Now I just have to try their ballpark pizza.... read more

I think this may be a better experience eating in than taking out. DLW was hankering for pizza on a Saturday night, but didn't want to leave the house, so a quick Yelp search for the best near us turned up this place. I fetched it, and found the place busy as expected on a Saturday, with several games on the TVs and fairly high noise level. Service was prompt and friendly, and I was out the door within a couple of minutes. The pepperoni pizza was no better than average, however. Crust makes or breaks a pizza in my opinion, and this one is typical of American joints: soft, fairly thick, browned but not charred, rather flavorless. Sauce is on the sweet side with low spice level. Toppings are middling quality and nothing special. The specialty offerings have loads of pre-chosen combinations, some of which sound pretty good, but pizza shouldn't be a delivery system for toppings. It's at heart a flat bread, and it should stand up on its own. Maybe the energy of a dine-in would make up for it. read more

Growing up in Jersey City, we did not have a Dewey's. I grew up on New York style pizza, which is good in its own right. It wasn't until last year that I first tasted Dewey's, and I have been in Ohio for 8 years. I will tell you this is one of my favorite pizza places in Ohio. It is actually tied for the top spot. So I live in Chicago now, surrounded by what is ostensibly the best pizza in the known world, especially according to aggressive guys with unironic mustaches and early-onset morbid obesity. At the risk of one of those guys putting me in a hammerlock, I contend that I've found nothing in the 312 better than Dewey's. I always thought LaRosa's was crap, even when I was a poor college kid, so I was happy when Dewey's arrived in town and swiftly laid claim to the local pizza crown. Their ingredients are fresh, their sauce perfectly spiced, their crust best described by another reviewer: "Thin and chewy and crispy all at the same time." There's not a flaw to be found. My favorite custom pizza was chicken, goat cheese and pine nuts with red sauce. Someday I will do something to become famous, and I will then force Dewey's to add this to their menu. It will be called "The DJ Fento." I'm reviewing the Oakley location, 'cause that was the one I frequented, but the Clifton, Newport and Harper's Point locations all put out the same great product (hello, quality control!). read more

As the original location for Dewey's, this one is always packed. There's not much room to stand if you're waiting for a table or carry out. We were there around 6p on a Friday night. There were more kids there than adults, so it was a little loud and crazy. Dewey's seems to be the Friday night standard for much of the neighborhood. The food and decent beer list makes it worthwhile. Their salads are great and the seasonal offering keeps the list fresh. In my opinion, Dewey's has the best pizza in Cincinnati. Not only is it great pizza, but the salads are always fresh and flavorful too. I like this location better than some of the others (like Crestview Hills Town Center and the Levee) because it has more of a local feel being in Oakley Square. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and the beer selection is pretty unique. The bartenders have always let us sample a beer before ordering which is a nice touch too. The pizzas can be ordered by doing different toppings on each half. They have a white and red sauce, and you can even split the sauces which is nice if you want something completely different from your party. As others have said, it can get pretty crowded on the weekend nights so I try to go at 8:30pm or later to avoid a wait. read more

I always love Dewey's. We have been to pretty much every location that they have. This was our first visit to this location. We were promptly greeted and were seated. We expected it to be a little busier, since it was just after the Bengal's game. We always do a half & half so that we are able to try two pizzas at once. This place is crazy quick on refills and all the servers were very friendly. And, apparently, there is at least one Bengal's player that enjoys the pizza also. The service, as roth m. said, is more of a "swarm" service. Appropriate, considering how packed it is, abuzz with activity and the fact that you get to even watch the cooks in the kitchen concentrate hard on making and tossing dough in the kitchen. It almost feels like you're in a beehive. My brother and I went here to eat just before going to see The Civil Wars in concert across the street. Yeah, we waited for 30 minutes in a "foyer" the size of a beer can to be seated, but Dewey's restaurants are among the most popular in Greater Cincinnati, hands down. And for good reason: You have so much to choose from in size, toppings, and even red or white marinara sauce that practically each pizza and panini made there is custom. With real ingredients...or at least a crap ton of artificial preservatives, but I sure hope it's the former. The pizza isn't quite as good as a few other true local joints I've been to in Greater Cincy and Lexington, but it's up there. Every bit deserving of four stars. read more

I'm an outsider to Cincinnati and I'm used to New York style pizza. At first, I was skeptical, since LaRosa's is cardboard, Donatos is... well... it's better than LaRosa's. Dewey's was fantastic. Ok, it's not the fire-baked goodness I was expecting, but Dewey's delivers. It's great pizza. Their marinara sauce is good. The white sauce is a garlic butter sauce, which is different than the ricotta/garlic/butter sauce of the northeast. I'm a fan of the Wild Mushroom. The calzones are good too, and one will more than fill you up. There's plenty of toppings, so you have virtually unlimited combinations. The calzones are pretty cheap too. Lastly, the salads are good. There's no iceberg lettuce (that I remember), the portions are plentiful. And the have a new salad relatively often. Having a pint or two of beer from a local brewery definitely makes this place even better. And to make everything slightly better, Dewey's is engaged with the local community and gives back. I would give 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that there's a better place in Cincy to go. First off the customer service here is better than any pizza place I've ever been to. From the phone order I did to make my carry out order, to the nice lady cleaning the glass on the entrance door that held it open for me to let me in, to the 3 people that greeted me as I looked for the bar to pick up my order, to the nice manager lady that took my payment and offered me a drink. The food was done fast. I ordered a large 1/2 Dr. See and 1/2 Cuban pizza. (They will half and half anything you want which is cool). The pricing was great for a large mixed specialty pizza. $21 and some change. The crust is light and New York style thin. The toppings are okay. There's not a lot of cheese on the pizzas (even though one pizza I ordered had two types of cheese). Still is a very tasty and easy to eat pizza. If you live in the Norwood/Hyde Park area, I would say it's a touch better than Mellow Mushroom and better than anything in that area. Adriaticos still has my heart....and stomach.
