After a LONG day of driving, we were looking for a place to eat that wasn't McDonalds or Subway. We did not know Dewey's was a chain as we are not local but we were very pleased with our selection. We arrived around 4:45 and had our choice of tables but by 5, the restaurant, while not overly large, was full! Hubby ordered the side Caesar and I ordered the seasonal Harvest salad without the bacon. Both were very good and a generous size. Each salad also has an entree size. Several different sizes of pizza, and many are very creative combinations. Hubby had the Bronx Bomber with onion, green peppers, pepperoni, sausage, and black olives. I had the Edgar Allen Poe (olive oil, whole roasted garlic and Kalamata olives, mozzarella, fontina, and goat cheese finished with tomatoes and parsley after coming out of the oven) It also has mushrooms but I ordered without. We both ordered the 11" size and took three of the eight small slices to go. We were talked into the Opera cream torte which was good but not standout. Service was friendly and efficient; we were in and out in an hour and back on the road. The restaurant was clean and festively decorated for the holidays. Top rate Pizza restaurant. Dewey's is always busy for a good reason. The pizza is one of the best in the city. High quality ingredients make for really good pizza. Their sausage is the best. Their menu is limited to Pizza, calzones and salads. Pizzas are a little pricey but the quality and serving size justify it. The restaurant is run very well. The managers work the floor to make sure everything is running smooth. They had a good choice of beers on tap. I will be back. Very family oriented. read more

Their waitlist is broken and annoying. Their site wouldn't let us join the waitlist as it said there was no wait, come on in. We get to restaurant and the hostess says it's a 15 minute wait and takes our name. I check and the website still says no wait, come on in. I've had it with this location! Twice in a row we had a horrible experience with them this holiday season. First time we ordered ahead and picked up a cold pizza even though we picked it up right on time. The second time we placed the order over an hour ahead of time, arrived on time, and waited an additional 30+ minutes to finally get our order. Service and quality of ingredients are excellent but it's hard for me to justify a check of $18 for a wafer-thin 11 inch pizza with 5 or 6 shreds of prosciutto as the only topping and water to drink. Admittedly some of the "signature" pizzas with lots of veggies and which cost a few dollars more are probably a better value. Taco pizza is life. I would love for them to have it year round, but I'll settle for going every week while it's in season. Honestly, I've never met one of their pizza's I didn't like, and many of them I've loved; but taco pizza is my all time favorite. It sounds weird, but once you try taco pizza, you'll understand. This was my first time eating any of Dewey's food. This was a takeout order so the criticism may be unfair. I ordered the candied walnut grape salad. The salad had a good taste to it . Was told Dewey's doesn't prepare "well done" pizza because it's too much trouble--have to put through twice on the conveyor belt. When inquired to Dewey's corporate, they said would prepare my order unless they were busy. First, pizza on the conveyor belt? Sounds like a fast food burger joint. Second, even at a fast food burger joint, I can get food to order. What is happening at Dewey's? I never been to any pizza establishment, no matter how busy, refused to prepare my order to my preference. We also ordered a cheese pizza for the kids, which didn't impress me, but the kids loved it. Service was good at pick-up, staff were friendly and quick. I loved Dewey's when they first opened, the crust was perfect with a nice chew and the topping selection was awesome. I got a pizza or two during the "scamdemic " that were beyond pitiful, so stayed away for a very long time. I decided to give them a try again recently with hopes they got their act together, well that's a big fat NOPE! Got a pizza that was void of sauce, cheese and petty much all my veggie choices. What I got was a thin droopy pizza with mystery meats. I did recognize the pepperoni, the whole 4 tiny slices, then the salami, a whole two huge slices and something that definitely was Not cappacola ham. Not quite sure what this meat was. Lesson learned, the next time I'm craving an overpriced mystery, cheeseless and sauceless pizza that looks like it was thrown together by a blind man, I'll keep Dewey's in mind. Take a break from the regular. Unique pizzas, creative salads, and a simple, yet excellent beer and wine selection to go with it. On this visit, I sampled the Dew Brew, a strawberry blonde ale that was surprisingly excellent. A portion of the sales goes to charity. However I went with a half bottle of Frethren Cabernet. It was an excellent, dry red. And I simply corked the bottled and took home the rest. For dinner, I had a side Harvest salad with chicken and my kids had the cheese pizza, yes, that's a simple pizza, but my kids say it's the best cheese pizza around. I also like the Southwest BBQ chicken and the Green Lantern. The pizzas are hand tossed. You can watch them do it through a window into the kitchen. We finished off our night with a couple of slices of opera cream torte from the Bonbonerie, a local bakery that made that torte famous. The bottom line. If you want fresh pizza with a local influence, Dewey's won't let you down. Pro Tip: There is often a wait at dinner. Use the NoWait app to get a table faster. This is my second favorite pizza in this city. Not sure if it's just this location, maybe a new owner, but don't think it's lost on me that they have shrunk the dressing sides literally in half and watered it down. It's sad when businesses do this. There are no discounts for this pizza. It's supposed to be an upscale kind of thing but when this happens it makes me less likely to spend $60 on 2 pizzas. I didn't find much about Dewey's Pizza worth writing home about. The less traditional novelty pizzas are all pretty standard and derivative, none of the pies are any new flavor combinations I hadn't yet seen at any other chain. Their crust technique was unimpressive, and the center had been rolled/tossed a bit too much. Thin centers = overall less support, which makes for a drippy, droopy pizza. The leftovers did not keep well (Got very glutinous and chewy) so it's not the type of pizza I'd recommend cold from the fridge either. The toppings got cooked unevenly. Under-cooked onions are rarely pleasant where they don't belong. The interior is uncomfortable, and not very feng shui: The area near the doors always has people crowded around it, and the seating around the center of the restaurant makes you feel like you're in the way of staff just sitting there. It's a reasonably popular place, so don't count on a booth. The furniture crowding issues might be alleviated if they were to move one or two of their tables outside, or get rid of them all together: Less seating = longer wait time, but a more comfortable experience for people who don't like hot food being carried over their heads while seated. (That's asking for trouble!) The price for Dewey's hurts when the dough technique just isn't there. It's just another dull, homogeneous strip mall placeholder that will eventually disappear and be replaced with another trendy, overpriced restaurant that markets harder than they do research, practice and experimentation. read more

Great to have a Dewey's on the westside. Even though it is no longer on the menu they will still make you my favorite - the Billy Goat - goat cheese, sundried tomatoes, regular tomatoes, green peppers, olive oil, minced garli, etc. on a great crust! This location also does "pizza school" fundraiser activities where your group gets some instruction/guidance and gets to make your own pizzas. These are usually late weekend mornings before regular serving hours of the restaurant start. It's a great fun interactive fundraising event. read more
