I came here after AX one night. Most places were closed and I was craving a burrito. I ended up getting a burrito, quesadilla, and horchata. This was by far the most disappointing meal I had this trip in LA. There was more rice than meat in the burrito. Any meat I got was the driest and under-seasoned meat I have ever eaten. The meat was nearly flavorless. I'm not even sure how you could mess up the quesadilla as you usually have cheese to save it. Walk/Run through Downtown L.A. Monday through Friday. I always see this truck busy with people waiting for their food. I kept thinking I have to try this place out. I am glad I did. The guys working inside straight to business. I noticed they had a chicken quesadilla as an option. I asked if the protein could be different. They said they could do it with asada, Al Pastor, and i believe carnitas as well. I decided to go with the Al Pastor and two tacos de Asada. The asada is cooked perfectly, tender, and juicy. I was taken away by the presentation of the tacos. Two good looking tacos waiting to be devoured! The quesadilla Al Pastor was delicious. Nicely folded into two. At first I thought it was small but noticed it was actually folded. The condiment, flavor, juiciness, and portion of the Al Pastor was right on point with the amount of cheese in the flour tortilla. For someone who is from Texas, this place gets my stamp of approval. I particularly enjoyed the Al pastor tacos. They had quite a variety of options. We opted for the Al Pastor, Cochinita Pibil and Asada Fries. The Al Pastor was pretty tough to chew. This was our least favorite (6/10). The raved Cochinita Pibil was really good! It was so flavorful compared to the Al Pastor (8.5/10). The Asada Fries was humongous! Generous Asada on top of large portions of fries, served with Guacamole, Fresh Tomato, Sour Cream and a Gravy Sauce. The only downfall was the avocado, which lacked the fresh quality. I also like the toppings and appreciate that there are radishes and lime. The only downside is they can get a bit soggy and messy eating out of the box and there is no consume. The prices are a little high for taco truck standards but more similar to traditional birria taco prices. Overall very great tacos. The food truck is located in downtown La across from a small shopping mall and there can be a bit of a wait but usually not too busy. I have also gotten the burritos from here which is very good as well. For some reason it was seasoned to perfection and tasted really good after as I was very hungry and looking for something to eat while in between metro stops. I actually think they have since upgraded their truck as their design looked new.
