Affordable way to bowl when you use the specials pricing. Get your reps in before league games. Easy lanes for practicing. Friendly staff there too. When I went there the first time, the guy at the counter couldn't be any nicer. The bowling alley is old. Doesn't show speed your bowling at. At least when I've gone to practice that wasn't an option. But it's great for experimenting new techniques for bowling. You can also learn from watching the more experienced bowlers and league bowlers that come in to practice. The negatives: it can feel cramped. The return for the bowling balls sounds like an old wooden roller coaster. Sometimes you end up bowling next to people that don't have a clue. During specials it can get crowded with a lot of people and children that don't understand lane etiquette. Just be careful when bowling next to a party like that. For safety, it would be a huge improvement if Devon Lanes posted lane etiquette rules. read more

Haven't been here since the pandemic sadly, but when I saw the Black Keys were having an album release party here I had to come back! Years ago I'd come here with my coed soccer team, we would use 3-4 lanes. I can't recall what the special was then, but it was a bargain and we saved a lot of money as it's BYOB and BYOF. We would bring a cooler and some hoagies and have a blast. Went back with a smaller group last night, Thursday 4/4/24 and relived the good times. Thursday is a $10 unlimited bowling special, which is a tremendous value and a very popular special. The place was packed by 9:00 and people were waiting for lanes. It was nice to see a new generation of people out there ready to roll, we saw one group of 15, they had a few cases of beer with them and were definitely enjoying themselves. They have around 30 lanes, ~15 on each side of the alley. The equipment worked perfectly for us all night. Didn't have any trouble on our lane, nor did I see anyone around us need assistance. We bowled on the "dark" side, with black lights and such, but you could opt to bowl on the other side in normal lighting. Music sounded good on their sound system as they looped the new album. Staff was great, they were very friendly and helpful despite the place being really crowded. The album release was a lot of fun and the staff enjoyed the change of pace too I think. Although there were a lot of regulars there it was fun seeing the other Black Keys fans who came for the event. Great marketing idea and I'm so happy Devon Lanes was selected to host it! read more

Overall experience good. Reasons for ratings: ambience is ok with lanes looking pretty old and no efforts being taken to maintain them. They close at 10:00 pm. So if you book for 8:30 pm for 2 hours, they do not honor that. I understand this is not family owned and folks at work cant do much but they need to update their system to not allow booking after 8 pm. read more

This place is horrible. The pins don't get picked up after a bowl so you have random pins lying around when you are trying to bowl. We were here to bowl and this happened to us 7 times, in 2 games, which is a total of 20 turns to bowl. So 35 Percent of the time, it malfunctioned. Just over all a horrible place that isn't good. Devon Bowling Lanes is a decent place to bowl and have fun. It's on par, if not slightly better, with other bowling alleys in the Delaware and Chester County area. We went on a Friday afternoon around Labor Day weekend, so needless to say it was completely empty; we were the only ones bowling. After a couple of games we got bored and left. They have arcade games in the middle of the floor which makes for a cool mix of entertainment. It's bowling, so what you see is what you get. Sometimes that is a good thing. Devon Bowling Lanes is overall a good place to bowl. I look forward to returning at a future date. read more

I'm here at Devon Lanes right now taking in the old school vibe. This is the first time I've seen a split lane alley. So basically the place to rent your shoes is in the middle of the floor. There is a whole room of arcade games and pool tables. They have a vending machine but they don't serve Obviously you can bring your own and don't forget your booze too. I'm no bowler by any means but I've been to my share of lanes. I think I prefer the modern places with neon lights and bars. But again for me it's about atmosphere. read more

We come around 10:00 PM, and bother their signs and website say that they are open until 12:00 AM (midnight). They are way over priced and their lanes suck. butt. My friends and I had planned a girls night out and decided we wanted to go bowling. I drove in from Exton and had dinner nearby. We looked into this place before coming (all social media) and thought it would fit our needs perfectly. However, it wasn't until we made it to the front door that there was a notice the place had been booked for the night. it hadn't occurred to me that I would need to call before hand. And if you were closed for the night you really should post these things online before your customers drive out of their way just to be disappointed. Devon Bowling Place wants to operate like it's the most popular bowling around and charge overpriced rates during the Holidays. they barely full. We took are class bowling before Christmas break and they charged our students an extra $2 when we if it's a school outing it should be $8. the manager wouldn't honor it for and our students paid ten. school outing rates should stay the same. Some of our students can't necessarily afford that. The Bowling Palace in Downingtown would have not done this and would respond back to emails when asking a question. the manager at Devon responded and then when I had another question never responded back. read more

All I can say is that I am not a fan of Devon Lanes. The staff is unhelpful, everything is expensive and there is always a dilemma when it comes to bowling. When I walked in I was greeted by what felt like Antarctica. It was absolutely freezing there, it was possibly under 60 degrees. Also, it wasn't just me that thought it was cold, I heard plenty of other people commenting on the temperature. When it came to actually bowling it wasn't much better. First, it was really hard to set everything up for the game especially when setting an order for each person. I also was disappointed by the fact that there were no cool graphics after you got a spare of strike. However, that was not the worst part, about half-way through my second game the monitor, which displayed the score and the machine that reset the pins both stopped working. Even after getting that issues fixed, it happened again 2 turns later. They also have a small arcade here. They had a pool table here, which I played on for a little. However, they charged $1 to play even though they were missing a ball. Also, it was really hard to play as the pool table was only a foot from an arcade game so your stick would always come to close to hitting someone. Even my quick experience with the staff was not positive. The man seemed disinterested as he was on his phone and drinking a soda. If you want food, they only have a vending machine, no snack bar. However, they will get a pizza delivered for you. One positive was that the place was pretty clean. Altogether, I did not have a great experience at Devon Lanes and I doubt I will return. read more

I came here for a work event and so I cannot comment on pricing as I did not pay for anything and did not seek out how much stuff was. I did find out that I am a terrible bowler, however... The place hits the spot for bowling. It has lanes on both sides of the building versus all in a row. This makes the building look small from the outside. The lanes worked well and they had a variety of bowling ball sizes to use. The establishment was clean and well-staffed. The shoes were of the newer type and fit around your feet much better than traditional shoes as they use straps versus laces. They were clean and comfortable. Overall, it was a nice spot. read more

I had a birthday party there on Tuesday August 13 2019. The place is ok. It's very basic . No flashing lights or mood setting. Roger helped me and he was helpful. The group of awkward 13 year old girls in the lane next to us made it so much more authentic. After reading some of the reviews of this place on Yelp, I almost didn't go here, but I'm glad I took the chance and went. Our group ended up bowling here four times so far. Devon Lanes is very clean, and each time we've been here, the staff was polite and helpful-- even the guy with the long grey hair we were warned about in an earlier review. We purchased an online bowling pass, and the staff accepted the pass at each visit when I showed them my iPhone. The place is BYOB, and you can also bring in your own food and other beverages. Yep, the score screens, seating and carpeting hail from a decade earlier, but it's no different from two other nearby bowling alleys. We had the worst experience at Devon Lanes. The computer on a lane kept malfunctioning. I had to walk over to the front desk 7 times to speak to the workers and eventually the manager. The female worker yelled at us and said you are charged based on your time. She was out of control and absolutely inappropriate. Her language was just so terrible. I said we had to wait for the person to fix the lane 6 times. We never had the time to finish a game, but they charged us. Our large party will never step foot back in that place. A nice little BYOB set of lanes in Devon. I'm not sure if there was something particularly special with the pins or that the lanes were shorter or something, but I bowled my all time high of 182 there! I normally average 100-130 so 6 strikes, including a turkey in the first three frames was something! At first we had a malfunction with one of our lanes not registering the slower rolls of some of the ladies bowling with us, but they were happy to switch us over. We went on a Friday around 3 pm and it was pretty empty. It's very clean, but I can't speak to how it is during any other times. I am a big bowler and have been to plenty of bowling centers in the area and around the country. This place is just dull. I stopped in on a Sunday morning and there was literally 5 people there and 2 worked there. That's usually unusual for people bowling as Sunday mornings are when you can get a Sunday special deal. I'll digress, the place is clean, slightly dated and was open. They had a few parties when I was there and this is positive to see a bunch a kids but overall the experience left much to the imagination and definitely there are better places in the area to go. read more

It's a good thing I didn't read the reviews before going to Devon Lanes, as many of the complaints are irrelevant. Complaints about the lack of food for a BYO establishment, condition of the pool tables and the celebratory graphic display after a strike are small potatoes in the big picture. What matters is being able to get a lane, have a good amount of balls to choose from, helpfulness of the staff and be able to bowl without too many issues. Devon hit the mark on all cylinders as we had a minor malfunction with our lane, and the staff fixed it quickly. They presented the best pricing option for our family for a night of bowling. It wasn't perfect, but we had a good time, and that's what matters. We're going to make this our new go-to place for family bowling. read more

They rates were good, the staff was very friendly & accommodating to our large crowd, even when we arrived almost an hour later than planned. I have worked in the customer service field for over 10 years and no matter were I go I look at how employees treat me, friends, family, and other people at the facility. Everytime I have been to this alley there are two females working. One is older I want to say mid to late 50's and the other is in her mid 20's. Both have been on there phones and looks like they are texting. The last time we went we were having issues with our lane. The older lady looked like she was staring at our lane. When I went up to ask if they could reset the pins she gave me attitude and said I know they are down we are getting there. Then turns to one of the guys who I then see go on the back. She seemed snoopy and this isn't the first time she was like that. I figured the first time she was having a bad day. Then the second and third time I said it isn't her having a bad day this is her. The other female was being short with young children. I get if you don't like kids but made you shouldn't be working at a bowling alley. I am glad I never brought my neice and nephews there. I do wish I had names to give. I will never go back to this place. Limerick is closer, cleaner, friendly staff, and better equipment. At least if we go and ask about our lane they fix it or have a nicer tone. I would suggest that managers should train their staff to be friendly no matter their mood. read more

Kid friendly but score screens and everything feel like they are from the seventies. If you want to go somewhere and just chuck the ball down the lane and don't really care about the score this is your place.
