This is such a beautiful coffee shop! The sunlight beams in from the high glass ceiling, all kinds of beautiful artwork and history is evident throughout the brick walls, and the space is extremely green and vibrant. And the coffee and snacks are so good! The beans are roasted in Colombia within 72 hours and express shipped to Brooklyn. They offer special varieties and roasts of beans, and the fruity, pure taste of the coffee is delicious. And pro tip, if you like your coffee sweeter, the little corner near the exit has honey along with straws and lids :) The leek turnovers and the eleven Madison park granola are just an extra treat to go with your coffee! 5 star interior, 3 star line, 4 star service, 4.5 star coffee. Potentially the greatest interior of any coffee shop I've ever seen. Devocion has so much space, natural light, and assortment of furniture. However, that means it's always going to be packed. The line is always long during normal coffee hours. It'll take around 15-20 minutes to get your coffee. The service itself is usually good, but there was one time they just completely forgot to make my pourover. I waited 15 more minutes after waiting in line -- turns out one barista clocked out and just didn't make the order. There's a wide selection of beans, which I love. The honey beans actually had strong notes of honey! They also curate a selection from women-owned coffee farms. read more

Heard some great things about Devoción, so I came to check it out. I stuck with a simple hot latte, since it seems they don't have much variety to offer in terms of syrups for the coffee. I was a little skeptical about how the latte would turn out, but boy was I surprised. The latte was extremely smooth and buttery, and the quality of the flavor was great. I would say that this is the type of coffee shop you go to if you're looking for straight up coffee with none of the extras. There was simple syrup and honey available on the counter for use, though I didn't feel the need to add it to my latte. I also got the guava croissant after seeing the many reviews praising it on here. However, I didn't find it that amazing. It was a good croissant, but for its cost, it isn't very worth it in my opinion. Perhaps I got a bad batch, but my croissant barely had any guava filling, and I eventually realized there was filling on 1 end of the croissant as I was finishing it. There was outside street seating available, as well as ample indoor seating. Devocion is my absolute favorite coffee shop in Williamsburg! The skylight and gorgeous plant wall give the cafe an amazing ambiance. There aren't many other coffee shops in Williamsburg that offer as much seating as Devicion, but the downside of this is that it's always packed with people working remotely. Most days you'll almost certainly need to wait for a seat. They also do not offer Wifi on weekends. The sparking cascara used to be my go-to drink order, as I've never been to a cafe that offers sparkling coffee drink before. However, they no longer offer the sparkling cascara on tap since they now sell it canned, which is a little disappointing, but not a huge deal. Now I usually order an iced latte, although it's worth noting that they do not offer flavored syrups (they do offer a self-serve simple syrup if you're looking to sweeten your latte). Food-wise, I recommend the guava croissant! It's perfectly flaky with a sweet guava filling that's super unique. The baristas aren't usually the friendliest, but don't let that deter you from coming. The coffee, pastries, and overall vibe certainly make up for it. read more

The ambiance is amazing, you feel like you're outdoors without actually being outside. Escape the inclement weather. Coffee has a nice strong kick, but only comes in one size. Couple reasons for the lowish rating - lack of WiFi and the fact that there's only 1 bathroom for a cafe this size! There's about 5-6 doors labeled "staff," yet only 1 bathroom, so be prepared for a long bathroom line. It's not a cafe without WiFi, clearly meant to deter people from extending their stay. The vibes here are immaculate. I was visiting NYC for a few days and took the ferry from Pier 11 to S Williamsburg and walked to this coffee shop after seeing people rave about it. The line can get pretty long, but the coffee is fantastic and you can watch them processing the coffee beans through windows as you wait. The staff are also hustling to try to make things move as quickly as possible. I was able to find seating easily at about 930am on a Friday and there were tons of people working, chatting, reading, and relaxing. The skylight makes it super bright and airy inside. Devocion is another one of those coffee shops that has a crazy line - I went twice around 11am and the lines were constantly over 10 people long (they move fast). They use the La Marzocco Leva machines (lever for pressure) as opposed to the usual Linea machines you'd find at cafes, so I was really excited to try their coffee. Their cortado was excellent, but when I got an espresso it was a bit under extracted (sour). The interior decor is super cozy, so this seems like a place to come early, grab a latte (or other milk drink of your choice), and sit for a while. I also tried their guava croissant - it was not that flakey, and if there wasn't any guava jam in it I'd say it was a bad croissant. The guava flavoring redeemed it but I still don't think I would get that again. read more

I had Devocion on my list for while visiting the area and Nate and I happened to walk by it one morning. We stopped by and grabbed a cappuccino and a parmesan leek croissant to tide us over until brunch later that afternoon. There was a long line but it moved pretty quickly. I was lucky enough to snag one of the last two top tables inside, near the big plant wall. The space is large with high ceilings and wonderful natural light. However, it was pretty crowded in there with tables super packed in. Definitely no social distancing enforced and they didn't ask for proof of vaccination when we were there in November 2021, so something to keep in mind. I was really impressed with the cappuccino - it was smooth and creamy, and we loved it so much that Nate bought a bag of beans to take home. Ahhh Devoción. This is what I envisioned of the Williamsburg coffee scene aesthetic. The coffeeshop is quite beautiful, with a glass atrium roof that blankets the space with natural light. There's a floor to ceiling plant wall to offset all the brick and small chests of wood to rest your beverages on. And that tufted leather club couch- it just ties it all together. It's no wonder that the vibes here begged for conversations among friends and colleagues. It warms my heart when I see a space that sparks conversation instead of heads buried in laptops and ears covered with headphones. Devoción is definitely the former. On my visit the place was filled with interesting people having intriguing conversations and I took it all in and enjoyed every minute. My oatmilk latte was smooth and delicious, but the people watching was even more fantastic. All that was missing was something vegan in that big pastry case. I can finally said I went to Devocion. It's the most popular cafe in Williamsburg. I ordered a drip coffee; the cost was $3.59. It was delicious. The coffee beans are roasted on site. This cafe is an Instagrammer's haven. It has great lighting due to the sunroof. I wish I was able to get a seat however most of the customers were camped out with their laptops. read more
