Five stars for a real fantastic venue. Unexpected. Completely different than any restaurant in the downtown Austin area. At first, I wasn't sure about the lounge as I walked into the basement, but the ambiance, vibe and detailed expression is unmatched. Came to celebrate a birthday and can't think of a better venue. I enjoyed it so much I'm going back next week. The food was brought out quickly. Easily, the best Mediterranean spot in town along with suburb food presentation. The staff with amazing. Especially Letto. Her deep understanding of the menu and personal pride in the establishment was extremely refreshing. Go for the ambiance. Stay for the cocktails, food and cozy escape. read more

This place is WOW!! The food, the music, the drinks, the decor, everything in this lounge is amazing. Location is perfect, we started our night here with dinner and went out on 6th afterward and ended up coming back to end the night here because of the great vibe and the best cocktails! It's a great spot for a date night and for group dinners, the space is really open and seating is comfortable even with a large party. Also if you love dessert, don't leave without getting their baklava! read more

Terrible experience. Have been here several times and the vibe is terrible. Would not recommend this place to anyone unless you wanna pay $20 a drink, deal with rude bouncers and listen to a bad Dj. read more

They tried charging us $50 per head last night on a random Saturday. I been there plenty, nothing y'all have there is worth $50, so there's really no reason for the exclusivity. Thankfully, there are a million other bars right there. I promise I won't remember you when y'all realize Austin is too expensive to turn down business. read more

Such a cool place. They greeted our group right when we walked in and sat us in their dining room. The music playing set a cool vibe and the staff was super informative about the menu. We had the hummus, halloumi, and Brussel sprouts as starters and for drinks the weeping willow, apertif #1, and the Hellfire. For our main courses we had the Lamb Shank, Half Chicken, and the lamb ribs with the pita panzanella, and the swordfish. I'd highly recommend all of those dishes, especially the lamb shank. I'll be back read more

Devil May Care - Lounges Near Me - Austin, Texas

Went for my bday! Great vibe good drinks and the food was tasty I had the hanger steak was cooked perfect

UPDATE 8/23/22 *** the establishment personally reached out to me and attentively listened to my issues and helped take care of the situation. I won't give it 5 stars personally because I still think (some) of the staff are unhappy/rude at their job, but I appreciate the management for being professional and understanding to my needs and expectations as a customer. Other than that, it's a a very sensual ambience with good music and fantastic cocktails. read more

Our group was very excited to spend a night drinking here, but the serving staff was extremely rude. From the get go, we were being pressured into bottle service, waitresses were giving us rude faces when we wanted to get different drinks, and then some random dude tried to start a fight with us. To top it all off when we decided to leave (we hadn't received any drinks yet), management came after us saying we didn't pay our tab, instead of ejecting the dude causing problems with us. Screw this place. "Devil May Care"? At least the Devil gives a shit, cuz the people here certainly don't. read more

The food was good and the service was great. Great ambience jazz night is on Wednesdays and the vibe of the place is great. 10/10 recommend

I love the bartenders they are very hot and nice! They make yummy drinks and make me feel less alone

Wonderful experience. The ambiance is fire and my husband and I had a blast. The Brussel Sprouts were amazing. It more of a small plate Resturant. I'm a vegetarian and they were so kind to make a veggie plate for me. So sweet of them. It was delicious! Loved the ambience, it reminded me of New York. Had a blast. Service was great. Drinks were great. Will be back for sure. read more

Why have a cocktail menu if you don't want to serve cocktails?? Waitresses kept trying to push bottle service and were incredibly rude when we respectfully declined and opted for cocktails. And to top it off, a drunk man was harassing us to the point that we left, and the hostess chased us down to ask for payment for drinks we didn't receive (instead of telling he man to stop harassing us??). It was the most confusing and horrific experience. Worst experience I've had in Austin in the 8+ years I've lived here. Please don't come into our very friendly and wonderful city and treat people like this. read more

We celebrated my boyfriends birthday and had such a great time! Wonderful food, cocktails, service, music and ambience. We stayed after dinner for the fun bar area. Highly recommend this place! Thank you to the manager who handled our keys when we stayed past the valet time. We will be back! read more

Fantastic underground lounge. Very LA meets New York meets Chicago just with nicer Austin people. Food is fantastic, the service is on point, drinks are strong, staff is beautiful. Once 11pm hits, a well dressed crowd starts to come about, options for bottle service, music is unlike any other venue in Austin. The only place I'll have a cocktail on West 6th! read more

went there last night for our 8:30 RESERVATION, at 9:30 I left since we still did not have our reserved table and the whipped ricotta and goat cheese appetizer took over 30 minutes to get to us and was a few scoops of something with overly salted burnt pita bread slices served cold. If it had been a warm dish I might have been able to excuse the delay. Kayla the bartender was the only real bright spot of the night, she was amazing. On top of everything, knew what she was doing, adjusted our drinks per our requests, super friendly and then said she had only been there a week. Her drinks were delicious. They should put her in charge of the tables. read more

This is a great spot to get some unique food and awesome craft cocktails. We really enjoyed the selection of handmade drinks and all the food options that you can even have delivered to you. Really great addition to the west 6th area. read more

Hands down, one of the coolest spaces to open up in Austin. It's very reminiscent of the NYC underground scene, speakeasy meets nightclub. My favorite part was not the neon vintage decor, but the amazing service from the bar-- specifically Joel. If you go, ask if he's working! His cocktails were inspired and thoughtful, down to each ingredient and the perfect way he shaked it. His conversation was just as genuine as his drinks. Thanks to Joel for making date night special, we'll be back to see you soon! read more

Devil May Care - Gin martini - Lounges Near Me - Austin, Texas

Second time visiting and it just needs to be said...this is the sexiest, date-night venue in the ATX right now. Get dressed-up, make a reservation, and grab a hot date. Beautiful space, steamy ambience, great service, fun drinks and special eats. read more

I went in a couple days ago and I really enjoyed the experience our server gave us! She went over every single item I had questions about. I'm also vegan and she really made it a priority that every dish I got was vegan. The vibe is something Austin doesn't have yet and I will bringing back all friends for the incredible food and cocktails read more

What an awesome atmosphere. I love that you can go in for HH, dinner, or late-night and have different experiences. The food is incredible - that chef has got it going ON! The craft cocktails are so delicious as well. Love the Modern Meditteranean take they've curated here. :D read more

West 6th finally is more than bad sports bars. After eating at TenTen we walked across the street to this new lounge where Bess used to be. The vibe is created with upscale decor, great lighting, and great tunes. It reminded me of the Oxford Social Club in the Pendry in San Deigo Gaslamp. The menu had a Mediterranean influence, so we grabbed a glass of Lebanese red and topped it off with some baklava and Turkish coffee that was so smooth I felt like Larry David just finding the perfect beans! Glad to see W 6th is growing up. read more

EXACTLY WHAT AUSTIN HAS BEEN NEEDING! This place is an absolute vibe. The level of detail put into the decor is astounding. Came in with a few girlfriends, and we stayed for dinner and after dinner cocktails. The music in the background was full of groovy tunes, and our server cultivated our entire evening! From recommending cocktails (the hellfire is mind blowing- shoutout to the bartender) to helping me find some drool worthy vegetarian options. Devoured my devils eggs and wild mushroom salad while my carnivore bffs went in on a beautiful branzino that was even tempting to me! We saw a shift from dinner service to late night hour, and they rolled a dj out on the Saturday night we were there. The dj was amazing, and we all had such a good time. Will definitely be back!! read more

Great atmosphere and vibes. The drinks and food are spectacular. The menu boasts some vey unique menu items like the deviled eggs which are beet flavored. The prawns are ginormous. The hangar steak and lamb shank are superb as well. For drinks, the Azafran, Apertif, and Hellfire are great. Service is always top notch and on point. read more

This place is so cool, I'm going to have to bring back all my friends! Located in the old Sofia's location, or Bess Bistro if you remember it. As soon as you walk in there's a gorgeous mural by a local artist, the bar is perfectly decorated and has a dark trendy atmosphere. Their happy hour is out of this world: drinks are half off - which is a steal for how cleverly crafted they are. Quality ingredients and amazing bartenders here. We also ordered the grape panacotta with pomegranate and fennel and it was absolutely delicious. This bar is great for friends but is also a super fun date spot. Unique concept and super friendly and attentive staff. Will definitely be coming back. Everything from the bar glasses to the decor to the perfect ice cubes in our drinks was on point. read more

DMC is a cool Mediterranean and craft cocktail lounge with a great atmosphere. You enter down steps into a basement and it resembles a NYC lounge. It's dark and intimate with fun lighted ceilings. Weekends are super busy and they have great bottle service. Drinks are inventive and the food is delicious. John, who DJs there is incredible and reads the room while playing hits and also mixing in some old school and songs I haven't heard but definitely added to my personal music library since. Great place to go for a snack or drink or just for a night out. read more

I spent my NYE at Devil May Care, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the service was unlike any other. read more

This place has wonderful lighting and great atmosphere and very helpful staff. Everyone was very attentive and the food was served tapa servings which were all tasty. The seating is low and comfortable plush chairs and sofas predominantly. The cocktails were interesting and nicely flavored and my only ding is that they haven't yet started to serve local beer. The beer selection was sort of strange and limited. But they say they will improve in this area soon and I was still satisfied with the cocktails. read more

Chic new place. Great drinks and a friendly staff. An awesome place to grab a drink with a group of friends.

Amazing place! They have everything from happy hour, snacks, dinner, cocktails, and late night! You must try the Hellfire cocktail and Brussel sprouts. They offer amazing to-go options for pickup or delivery during quarantine. If you're looking for a different experience then I totally recommend trying them out! read more

Great atmosphere and craft cocktails. The food wasn't for me but everyone else really liked it.

I want to start off by saying that our service, drinks, and food were all great. It's truly a lovely restaurant and has a great vibe and I would recommend it for anyone who wants a nice night out. That said there was some weird miscommunication that happened with the hostess up front. We had a reservation and when we came in she said to the effect of "I can seat you over here at this high top for now and once a table opens up in the lounge I'll move you in there" so it seemed like our table was a temporary transition seat until our real table opened up in a few minutes. We ordered drinks and waited an hour and still nothing. We brought it up to our server and hostess a couple times and only after some pressing and looking at the terrace and two top options (we were a party of 3) she explained that the table we were seated at was our real table, it's that she just tries to eventually move people over to the lounge of possible but not guaranteed. Which is odd, it just felt that we couldn't really get comfortable and we could be picked up at any moment. We decided to not move to the terrace or two top but asked that the wobble on our table gets fixed since it was pretty extreme, we had a couple people come to take a look at the wobble but no one actually came to fix it, and we just eventually just moved to the high top right next to us that was more stable. Again, nothing was a huge deal but just a lot of confusion and back and forth and quite some time before we could actually settle down and order food read more

Initially had some trouble reaching them in the beginning of the week but then they were great both emailing and texting me which was very convenient since I had a large group visiting. They were very accommodating. There was a 2 bottle minimum Friday night so only tried 1 cocktail from the bar that was delicious. They had great music, very cool ambiance and loungy vibes, it is pretty dark in there. It wasn't very busy so had lots of room to dance. The waitresses do make the drinks extra strong with your bottles, probably to get you to drink all your booze and order more, so I had to call their attention on that a few times because the drinks were 90% alcohol and undrinkable. She was nice about it and I think toned it down or we got drunk and stopped noticing lol Bottle service prices were a lot higher than what I would expect for Austin. Everyone was very nice and I would def recommend. It is more upscale and much less casual than the rest of Austin which is what I wanted to celebrate my birthday. read more

Definitely one of a kind here in town. A loungy vibe with low tables, we were a group of 4 and went for dinner and drinks around 830. The hostess greeted us with a big smile and even though we didn't have a reservation, she was able to find us a table right away - so definitely points given here. The couch was comfortable, and it sat three of us while our server got me an ottoman. She explained the menu was all shareable so we ordered a bunch of different things for the table. We especially enjoyed the Tuna crudo - it was spiced with Moroccan flavors and was different than anything I've ever had. We also had the hummus, halloumi, brussels sprouts, little gem, lamb ribs, & hanger steak. We asked our server to send it as it was ready, and it came out quicker than we expected. My girlfriend and her friends raved about the lamb ribs & the halloumi but personally, the steak was my favorite. Overall, everything was pretty tasty. We tried a few of the cocktails as well, and I think we really loved the hellfire the most. The place felt very cozy and by time we realized it, it was almost 11 and the place was packed. The lights had gone down and a DJ appeared out of nowhere. People were dancing all over, we saw some buying bottles, and there's a really cool lighting runway thing down the center of the room. We stayed for a few more hours buying cocktails and hanging at the bar. Highly recommend! read more

Had my first experience at this bar and it was... interesting. What I found most offensive is that as the DD for our friends, I came in and ordered two tequila drinks for the people in my group and a water for myself. The bartender, a short blonde with medium length hair, handed me the water and said "I dare you to chug this", which I did. She then refilled and said "this one too". I said "thanks I'm good" and took a sip to which she said "finish it or I'll cut you off". Since I was drinking WATER, I kind of laughed and assumed she was joking but it became clear that she wasn't. I tried to clarify that I wasn't drinking and she said "finish the water or I'll have you removed from the bar". Shocked, I said "are you gaslighting me or is this a joke?" to which the people standing next to me at the bar immediately chimed in to verify that I was not drinking. She went and threw what looked like a tantrum to another server or manager at the bar, who appeared to dismiss her after coming over to chat with me, and then never spoke to us again. It was the most bizarre and offensive hospitality situation I've ever been involved in. Would not recommend, based solely on the incredibly shitty and accusatory service. In the time this interaction was occurring, I witnessed a woman in a latex dress fall out of a chair at the bar and hit the floor with no intervention from bar staff. I'm still sort of convinced I was being filmed because this was the most aggressive and bizarre behavior from a bartender I've ever seen. read more
