I want to Thank Yelper's who leave 5 stars review for Device Repair. When I got the referral to go to Device Repair, I decided to turn to yelp review since I've already been to 3 different places and they could not fix it or estimate was too high it didn't make sense to get it fixed. When I read the Yelp review it gave me hope and I decided to give a try. Henry was Awsome. He did not give up working on it. I droped my lap to on November 12th and picked it up today. He went through 2 different parts which didnt work. I was ready to pick it up after 3 weeks but he was trying something more to get it repaired. Since I went through 3 different business and they could not fix it I was willing to accept the fact it's time for the new laptop. He called me today and said he got it fixed. I was afraid to even ask him how much. If it costed too much I wished He should not have it fixed it. When I showed up to pick up my lap top which was perfectly restored.. He did not even charge me penny more than his original estimate. I know it cost him more time and $$ to get my laptop work again. Thank You Henry!!! Had a desktop that was 5 years old that stopped working a few months back and bought a new one. Then realized our son needed a computer for school so I brought our 5 year old computer in to Henry to see if it made sense to fix it. With no cost or obligation he spent 2 hours going through our old computer and then informed us that he didn't suggest investing any money into the old computer. He said he could fix it for about $220.00 but that since it was old technology it really wouldn't be what our son needs for teleconferencing and online school. He then looked up a computer that was on sale at Micro Center and gave me the sku# and said that this was what I needed and that it was a great computer at a great price. Henry is so open and honest as well as being very knowledgeable regarding modern computers. I would suggest Henry to anyone that needed an honest opinion and price on getting their computer repaired. If Yelp allowed a 10-star rating; then I would still want to give Device Repair even more stars! It's like I won the Lotto finding these guys. Every computer repair service spot I've ever been to results in one of two ways: (1) my computer/s fixed and working great again but it cost me a small fortune to fix it. Or (2) I saved a ton money because I was able to take advantage of a promo or coupon deal and my computer was able to "function" again but not in an impressive way. Thankfully, that's not the case with Device Repair! These guys (Henry and Fred) not only gave me "hands down" the best deal in and around OC as well as got our laptops working even better than when we first purchased them, Fred (the head technician) drove to our place to pick up laptops, said he'd charge us nothing until and unless all requested work was completed to perfection (which it was and then some), thoroughly cleaned both laptops (not only the Operating System but also cleaned the inside and outside of the actual laptop) and thereafter delivered laptops back to our place. Plus, upon delivery, he took the time to show us everything he did - explaining all in detail - as well as gave us suggestions for how to improve even more. With all that and more I expected a huge bill exceeding initial estimate. Nope, the price I was first quoted was the final price I paid. No surprises to justify increased costs (which is what I'm used to with every other place/person who I've brought my computer to). If you're experiencing issues with your computer, if you've been quoted some sort of outrageous price to fix you computer and or if you don't want any surprise additional cost/s when picking up your computer; then Device Repair is THE place to go to. Five stars and my printer didn't even get repaired! Why did I give five stars then??? Because they are an honest and trustworthy repair shop. When my Canon MP560 Printer gave up on me, I brought it to another place where they were going to charge my just to take a look at it, plus any repairs. If they couldn't fix it, I would have been already $50 down. Here, they offer free diagnostics. They called me back after about day and were so up front with me and told me that they tried several common troubleshooting techniques, but that they may need to replace the printer head, which with labor would probably cost upwards of $90-100. They did not advise this because they even looked up how much a used Canon MP560 was on ebay and it was priced about $40-50. So, they were willing to do the repair if I wanted, but again didn't think it was worth it. WHO DOES that?? I was so happy they were so honest with me. I couldn't believe it. IT is rare to find this type of trust anymore in the repair business- everyone is trying to make a decent living and I truly appreciated their honestly which is why I would definitely bring anything else I needed fixed back. Honest, fast, and friendly. Came in for a screen replacement for my Nexus 5, but also got a battery replacement and corrosion removal procedure (needed because my phone experienced water damage several months ago) when Henry cut me a deal. Before coming in, I was in a situation where it might have been more cost effective to scrap the phone, but instead walked out of there with a rejuvenated phone and less cash outlay. read more

Excellent service. I have had two experiences here, and both times Henry went above and beyond for me while providing fair and reasonable prices. I brought in my pair of beats headphones (sound was out in one ear). He first attempted to fix the issue himself. When he found that this was not possible, he contacted another supplier and brought in a refurbished pair for me. All the while keeping me updated. They work perfectly and I am more than happy with them. The second experience was for my iphone 5s that had a cracked screen and a short battery life. I brought it in on short notice and he more than accommodated me and my work schedule, finishing the job under the time he said it would take, and for a great price. I could not have left this place any happier! I had cracked my iphone screen and wanted it replaced on a Friday evening. I was going out of town that night so I was in a hurry. My old laptop died but I didn't want to buy a new one. I took it to these guys and the next day it was working as good as new, after they replaced the dc jack and the screen. These guys are the best!!! I brought my laptop in and they were able to diagnose it right away. Unfortunately the motherboard was dead and I was unable to fix it but they were able to get me the hard drive so I could transfer my files to the new computer. When I first tried to transfer the files they were corrupted so I called these guys up and they were able to fix it for free!!! So after six months of living with my destroyed iPhone Six Plus screen, hoping I could wait it out until I got my upgrade, I just couldn't do it anymore. Stupid me while studying hard for my AP Bio class happened to spill my mom's delicious smoothie onto my Mac's keyboard. Repair Man me in all my glory decided to try to fix the issue myself... which did not end well. Myself trying to fix the problem by removing the keys and cleaning it myself exacerbated the situation leading to near complete keyboard failure. Henry and his team really saved my a** last week: I need to clone my data off of an old 2TB HDD onto a new 1TB SSD. There were some problems on the HDD (numerous bad sectors). Henry called me 15 minutes after I dropped off the disks, told me that cloning couldn't be done but offered to do a sector-by-sector copy instead of a clone. It took most of the day but in the end, everything was perfect. All data moved, no missing files and best of all the SSD is blazingly fast. Henry is extremely helpful and honest. I had scheduled to have our laser printer picked up and repaired at his store. His driver was on other calls and so he sent over a technician to do a free diagnostic. That is incredible customer service. I would highly recommend Device Repair, for their service, integrity, and reasonable pricing. I brought my Mac Mini to Device Repair earlier this month because I wanted to have them install a solid state hard drive that I had purchased from Amazon. The computer was working ok, but I knew that installing a solid state drive with my existing 16 GB of RAM would make it a dream machine. They were able to clone my existing hard drive, install the new SSD, and it now works fantastic. Also, they took my old hard drive, put on an external enclosure, and made it a sweet portable external drive. Additionally, when they opened my Mac Mini, Henry realized that the RAM modules were not properly closing, and they fixed that as well. My Mac Mini's performance is off the charts with the solid state drive and it literally boots up in about 30 seconds to a minute; and I when I click on a program, there is almost no lag from surfing the net to working on documents. Henry honored a price quote he gave me several months ago, and they finished all of this within one day. I dropped off my computer on Tuesday and it was ready to go by lunch on Wednesday. If you're looking for top notch repair or computer help, these guys are great and very reasonable. read more
