When we bought the house, we loved everything but the kitchen which was quite dated (shown in pictures.) but after this team was done, the kitchen is now my favorite part of the house! The project stayed on time or ahead of schedule & Maria communicated with me often on updates and sent photos. She was awesome to work with and coordinate through. The team they sent was very detailed in their work and did a wonderful job. They also hung our tv and fixed a bad paint job in our room - I definitely plan to use them for any future projects we have come up! In regards to pricing, I got quite a few estimates and this was by far the lowest I received. After going back and forth on materials needed and settling on the numbers in the quote, it did not change as I have often heard it can so once you start a project. Update: changed my review from one star to two because he owned up to what he did and apologized. Only intelligent and good people do that. A lot of people would have been defensive. Good person. I hate to leave a review this bad, but I never even got to work with them. Initially they were very quick to respond and seemed very friendly, then I saw the five star reviews and I was very excited to work with them. Originally I had to reschedule because I was sick and he seemed very nice. He came to get an estimate on December 3rd and said he'd get back to me. I waited and waited. I called and Maria who works with him said he was getting on a plane and couldn't get back to me yet. I waited patiently. Another week goes by and nothing. I had called several times. One time I was told he was on a job. On February 11, on text, he said he'd call me right back. Did not happen. On February 20th I sent him this text, to which he NEVER responded. "Dear Jeff (and Maria), I've been trying to contact you for over a month now for the estimate on the patio. I've called several times. Not once have I received anything back. Initially when I contacted you, you were very quick to respond. I can only conclude you don't wish to do business with me. If that's the case, I highly recommend you tell your potential customer you cannot work with them. Whether you say it doesn't seem like the right fit, and recommend someone else, or say you're more busy than you thought, you still owe that customer communication and an apology. Even if you did want to do business with me, but simply lost track of time, it's only proper to apologize and give an estimate of how much longer you'll be. Thank you for considering this." I wanted to get this done while the weather was still nice, and get it done before spring. I probably had a more detailed image than most of what I wanted my new kitchen to look and function like. Working out the details was quite the challenge at times, but Jeff and his team made it happen. Even though the scheduling of work (or, lack thereof) was often annoying (various teams showing up unexpectedly), I truly don't know how it could've been improved upon, considering the scope of the project. In the end, they made it all tremendously worthwhile and are SO much more than just beautiful tile work! Overall, it was quite a pleasure to have Details Tile manage our kitchen renovation. Known Jeff and been his client over 15 years, from hands on quality delivery to the point unfortunately I no longer can recommend for his work. The crew not only unskillful and dishonest, no accountability from the owner with the failed delivery. Bathroom tiles grouting unmatched color to peel-off less a year (we gave them annual maintenance jobs for 3 years). Last subcontractor tried to talk us into re-tile a small area for 3K+ (home only 5-year). Referred friend for 18K repair job, the most important water leak from siding and windows - they sloppily glued it without any real fix or replacement. 1 year later water leak reoccurring from same siding and windows work areas, my friend not only has to hire new contractor to completely do-it-right for the unfixed water leaks but re-install water damaged floor from previous year. Jeff came examine the mistakes, said his warranty only 90-day and promised will send more crew further investigate within days. As always they never show or follow up with their promises. There are 2 occasions they will have speedy responses: a next new contract and collect payment. I and my friend have been burnt by their work repeatedly, keep away from them until Jeff can give his energy/time for honest delivery to his loyal clients. read more

Edited review: after Jeff's reply, I feel it's still necessary to address that he still deserves a 1star review. We were home every single day of the 6 weeks project, because hello COVID! There was 1 day out of the 6 weeks that we asked them not to come because we had a tree removed and know they work in our front yard. So, you had over 6 weeks to complete the project. And you say that because of 1 day you couldn't complete on time? Correct, your project was delayed by a week because someone tested positive for covid. But only because WE asked you not to return until you had a negative test. Angie gave us the option for y'all to keep working in our home.... What about the countless times that plumbers, or tile guys showed up at our house and WE had to tell them that they couldn't work because you hadn't ordered enough tile? Or that they came to install after 3 weeks and there was no tile on the floor or shower?! That's probably why you think we could use the bathroom after 3 weeks because you scheduled the plumbers to reinstall... in fact, plumbers reinstalled on week 5. So 5 week into this we had a working bathroom. Also to note, I have complained to them several times throughout the project and Angie even told me "we usually run a better ship" so they have been aware of our frustration. As soon as my first review was posted, I received a text that jeff would arrive in 10 minutes to complete the project. So again, unless you complain and threaten with a review they won't finish. Here are the results... you can see in the photos that it's still not complete, and not done with a detailed eye. Jeff had to replace the tile around the door frame and used a different grout color than the rest of the floor. Lazy choice! You can see grout is still missing where the wall and tile meet. Holes where it wasn't filled in around the ceiling.... the list goes on. As you can see from Jeff's response, he has a bad temper and can't own up that his communication within is company is poorly lacking. Again, a well deserved 1 star. When Jeff came to finish, he didn't even ask to speak to me directly but told my husband to "tell your wife to change her review". My husband just wanted you out of our house at that point. Both him and I are frustrated with the project. I wouldn't trust him or his staff back in our home after that altercation. If you have children in your home, I wouldn't trust him or his team to work. Definitely NOT worth the hassle to save $1k. Is he the cheapest option, yes. Do you want the cheapest option- NO. After all this, we aren't asking for money back. We just wanted it done and to be finished working with your team. Please stop replying to our reviews and leave us alone. Review posted on 7/28 Poor poor scheduling and slow turn around. We were quoted a bathroom remodel (for our bathroom that is only 20 SF) a 7 day turn around. Demo started on June 17th. It is now July 28th and it is still not complete. We have already paid in full and they have cashed the check but not finished the work. We had multiple delays with them not scheduling workers in time, or workers showing up without materials ordered, and they had to order tile 3 times for our project. It wasn't until I brought it to their attention that they realized no one ever ordered our floor tile. We were offered several apologizes, but it's clear they have a break down in communication. We are still waiting for our project to be completed, and it seems only like if you complain that someone will come out to work on it. Jeff is very professional and did an outstanding job!  From the date of the first call to completion of the job was just under two weeks.  Estimate was accurate. The quality of their work is excellent. flooring level, tiles level and spaced out correctly. Details Tile gutted our kitchen, then walked off the job - leaving our house a complete disaster. They tore off our countertops, ripped out the backsplash and never returned. We went on vacation to get our of their way, only to have Jeff quit in the middle of the job - destroying both our kitchen and our family vacation. He quit the job over text, never having the respect to at least have a phone call to discuss - then left our house a complete disaster, dirty, dusty and without a functioning kitchen to take care of our three small children. Disagreements happen in construction, but how this situation was handled was shockingly unprofessional and wholly in appropriate. From there, his vendors who held thousands of dollars of materials we had already paid for - 'chose' not to work with us any longer - making the transition to another contractor even more difficult. Because of the manner in which he quit - a one week job has turned into a five week disaster.
