We met Linda through word of mouth and then saw first-hand her amazing work at a friends wedding. I knew right then, that we had to absolutely hire her to decorate our wedding. Our wedding was May 31, 2008 and I contacted Linda in December 2007. From the first time we spoke she spent great a amount of time giving me her last experience with my particulur venue and the things I needed to do to ensure my wedding went off without a hitch. This time she spent all before we had even agreed to hire her! For many months we prepped trying to get everything exactly the way I had imagined it. Thanks to Linda she took such AMAZING care of me, that I truly had no worries when it came to this aspect of the wedding planning. I knew that whatever she said she was going to do, she would follow-through. (A comment to the person who said she didn't have email?, that's really weird because since I had began communicating with her in December 07 and email is often the way we communicated.) When my husband and I walked into the reception hall both of our mouths were on the floor because it was literally transposed into this elegant/sophisticated hall. She had set the mood by turning down the lights, had crystals hanging from my back-drop, candles lit each of our guest tables...we couldn't ask for anything more. Just a side-note...in addition to the work that she does ahead of time, the work that she listed on my contract, this lady went ABOVE and BEYOND the call of duty that night. We used her for our wedding reception rental needs because she had reasonable prices for rental items. During the preparation phase of our wedding and our meetings with her, she seemed to be very disorganized and made odd suggestions in fabric choices for our event. She also did not use e-mail, so it was difficult to communicate with her because we had to find times that worked for both parties to be on the phone. We were very firm on the exact types of items we wanted to rent, and she did follow through with delivery of items exactly as we wanted. In the end, we were very satisfied with the overall look of our wedding reception and were happy to have stayed within our budget by going through her for our rentals. 1 star off: poor organizational and communicational skills 1 star off: poor taste (make sure you figure out exactly what you need to rent prior to your meeting with her) read more

Linda's linens were the most beautiful I've ever seen and her prices are very fair. She is friendly, very responsive to voicemails and overall is a pleasure to work with. I really appreciated her openness to come to my venue with some sample linens so that I could see what they looked like prior to making a committment. She is very dedicated to her profession and to making each wedding she is a part of memorable. She really does care to make the bride happy - which we all love! The reason she is not getting 5 stars is because she called me after the wedding to inform me of an issue she was having with our florist. I didn't feel that I needed to be involved in that. If there was a higher rating on YELP, Linda would be getting it. After reading the reviews on Yelp I was a little concerned when my fiancé asked me to meet with Linda. Upon arrival I saw exactly what I wanted but I didn't let on. We had a conversation with her and I left there thinking she was really nice and something can come of this. My fiancé and I made a few suggestions and Linda was honest with us in regards to how it will look. She respected our ideas and our vision. Honesty is one of Linda's values and we appreciated every bit of it. She is a perfectionist and takes pride in everything she does. If something will have her name on it she will make sure she does her absolute best work. She went above and beyond what she had promised and everything in that room and church looked amazing. One thing I would suggest when choosing Details by Linda, please keep in mind she has been doing this for many years. She knows lighting, venues, colors, dimensions and she knows what goes with what perfectly. Let the artist paint her piece and she won't let you down. So when she suggests do not get offended; personally I would suggest you listen to her. At least consider her suggestions and if you still disagree do as you wish and she will do her best. If you don't like her suggestions, she is more than flexible to work with you. We changed our ideas a couple of times and she went with it and supported us all the way through. Linda went above and beyond what was asked of her. She loves the people she works with and she thrives on providing the best service. She returned emails, phone calls promptly and If you ever needed to go see her she was always available. I got married at Silver Creek Valley Country Club in Sept 2010, and Linda demonstrated incredible patience with my husband and I during the process and during our search to find complimentary colors with everything. I saw Linda many times during the engagement and she even came out to Silver Creek with the sample linens to see how they would go with the setting. She is so genuine about wanting to make everything just right for you, and has been doing this for so long that she really knows what is complimentary and goes with the theme you're going for. Do NOT go to Linda for your wedding rental!! I know she has reasonable prices, but other vendors are equally competitive and her poor attitude and service is not worth it. Despite reading her mixed Yelp reviews ahead of time, I made an appointment to meet with her because of her good pricing on Chiavari chairs. I went over to her house in Oct 2008 to see linens and other decor items. Her personality started off mild and seemingly easgygoing but then she would become increasingly critical of your choices and unaccommodating. Also, she would stop our conversation severally times to go talk to her relative and start chatting for 15 minutes. This happened 3 times while I was there. Also, I brought a bunch of magazine tearouts and showed her what I wanted and she kept commenting "it is interesting that you like something like that" or "hmm, that is odd, why do you want that". I told her I wanted blue gray linens but she had every other shade of blue. She kept forcing the other linens on me. I was very hesitant when I left the appointment but still kept her as an option. Fast forward to March 2009, I found my linens through other vendors but still wanted to rent the Chavari chairs from her. We discussed the delivery issue as the venue was very strict about dropoff and pickup time and she had to charge me extra for same night pickup, which was reasonable. I specifically told her I would talk to my venue and make a decision. She then asked me about linens and I informed her I was renting them elsewhere. Her voice became super high pitched and threw the biggest fit and demanded to know who I am renting the linens from and I should rent from her. She also tried to force me to sign a contract with her to do draping even when I kept insisting I needed to check with the venue first. I can't believe I still kept her as an option even after I got off that awful phone call. Later, while on the phone with my venue, I lamented to the venue manager that I did not like Linda. The venue manager told me that she and the rest of her staff do not like Linda and she is extremely difficult to work with. She is very offensive to vendors and in several instances they had to help her with her work because she was so slow. The venue manager then referred me to Lynn Le of Lynn's Wedding Services, who offers very competitive Chiavari chair pricing (Mike Berman, owner of Stuart Rental prices his chairs very well too). That is when I decided to not call Linda back and she never called me back for a follow up. I just received a phone call from Linda tonight which prompted me to write this review. Since she never called me back to confirm if I wanted to pay the extra delivery fee I had assumed she knew I didn't want her services. However, I was surprised to hear her call to confirm my chair rental a week before the wedding. I told her I never signed a contract with her and in fact she never sent me one. She then lied to me and said I never gave her an email address or fax number to send the contract, which in fact I did. She did renege and admitted she did have my fax number. She sighed and sighed and told me she has to call her wholesale rental and cancel my order and that I supposedly PROMISED her I would rent from her. If they charge her a penalty, she would then have to pass it on to me. I was furious!! I informed her, that I never promised anything and I never signed a contract; if she gets penalized that is her problem. She kept whining with her high pitched voice about passing the penalty on to me and so I hung up. She later left me a voicemail saying good luck with your wedding but I don't appreciate you hanging up on me. Bottom line, her work looks decent on pictures, but she is very very hard to work with, she makes other vendors help her with her work, and throws hissy fits. I think she forgets, she isn't the bride. There is no reason to go to her if you want linen and chair rentals. If you want referrals, feel free to contact me. I just had my wedding a week ago, and I hired Linda to do some of my table linens as well as a fabric drape/backdrop behind my head tables. I saw pictures of the drape, which is why I hired her, and I decided to do the table linens in the package as well. Now to be honest, the end product was great. The backdrop was beautiful, the linens were just what we asked for, and the room was beautiful. BUT, I must agree with all the bad reviews she has gotten so far... here's why. (1) When I first met with her, I went to her home in San Jose, where she (a) forgot that we were meeting that day/ lost track of time (b) had a bunch of family members coming in and out while we were meeting, and kept stopping to talk to them for extended periods of time and (c) had a 15 minute phone conversation with another client (who was not very happy either) while I was sitting on the couch waiting for her (2) After I left, it took her 2 weeks to send me the estimate, and she did not ever communicate via emails to me... Her computer was broken, or she had to fax it to me (but I don't have a fax) and then her scanner wasn't working... Then when I had to make changes to the estimate, I would email her, then call her, and then have to repeat everything that was in the email, and then we would spend 20 minutes of me repeating everything that was easily written in the email in the first place. Also, she would call at 11pm.. pretty late for a professional vendor to call a client I think. (3) The day before my wedding, as I was in the car driving to my rehearsal, Linda called me and said I needed to come to my reception site asap, because the table set-up I wanted just wasn't going to work. I told her the reception coordinator and I had measured everything, and it was all fine, and I asked her where the reception coordinator was so I could speak to her... Linda said she was out to lunch at the moment. i told her to talk to her when she got back and figure it out because I was at my rehearsal... 2 hours later I get a call that everything is fine, what I had wanted originally is going to work... so lots of unneeded stress the day before the wedding! Overall she was very difficult to deal with and communicate with. Her prices are good, and the end product for me personally was good, but I would NOT recommend her for your event. read more

After reading the reviews below I have to admit I was hesitant to meet with Linda. But my reception coordinator recommended her and so I decided to give her a try. I'm so glad I did! Linda has extremely reasonable prices and a great selection of linens. We also had her provide the uplighting and some other decorative items - again all reasonable compared to Hartman, Williams and Stuart. Most importantly, Linda is extremely pleasant to work with. Not quite sure what the negative reviews were regarding her personality. Although I do agree that it may be hard to communicate with her if you're used to email, I didn't have a problem with this since I allowed myself enough time to plan and make changes (which I ended up doing without any issue with Linda - she was nice enough to open up her studio to do a mini-mock up of my changes). Finally and most importantly, after all the planning was done, Linda executed just as we specified and we were extremely happy with the outcome. read more

We used Linda for my daughter's wedding in August. She did a wonderful, superb job on decoration and did what my daughter wanted and dreamed about. Her setup in the ceremony and reception, her use of drapery and crystals along with perfect colors for up-lighting, gave the room a WOW feeling when guests arrived. She set up our ceremony room the night before and the next morning she was there again to continue. She was able to reuse the backdrop behind the stage in ceremony somewhere in the reception as an added area behind the cake. She is very detailed and very reasonably priced. I have compared her work to other vendors and wedding planners and I did not find any one who could measure up to her excellent standards. Linda is very detail oriented. I used Details by Linda to decorate our head table, but previously I had inquired about her linens. We ended up not going through her because she didn't have the right color, but we ended up contacting our banquet hall coordinator to set up a date for Linda to decorate our head table. Anyway, I referred her to my cousin who is also getting married, and all she did at the consultation was talk shit about how I didn't use her for linens (when she in fact told me to go with the vendor I was using for my chiavari chairs so that it would be cheaper!!) and how I never called her to let her know that - even though she said I could contact my banquet hall coordinator IF I decide to use her - which I did!! I just thought it was unprofessional that she had to talk shit about me when I referred my cousin to her!!!!!! She's a nice lady an d her linens are cheap, but what she said to my cousin (could've been future customer) was uncalled for. read more

My wife and I had been planning our wedding from nine months ago and we knew having an excellent wedding coordinator was the most important thing in making sure everthing went well and exactly as planned. We got to know & meet with 3 or 4 coordinators throught the word of mouth and friends. Of all the people, I was very impressed with Linda. Within the first 5 minutes, we knew she was the ONE. She understood everthing we wanted to do, she was extremely helpful and brought up a lot of points we had overlooked and made excellent suggestions for us to consider to make our wedding special. Being a wedding coordinator for fiffteen years, I tell you, she has all the expertise and experience we were looking for. We also ended up renting all our shivari chairs, table cloths, Gold plate chargres and chair covers with bows for our cermony from her. She had the best prices of all the rentals we had checked around and handeled all the deliveries, setups and pickups to make sure everthing went smooth and no damged pieces were delivered. All the rentals were first class and in excellent condition as she promised us. She truly cared and put in so much extra time and effort into our wedding, It could have very well been her kids wedding. She was the first one at the hotel on the day of the wedding with her crew and last one leaving the ballroom (2:30 in morning). During the whole night when everone was having fun, enjoying themselves she never stopped and was constantly watching over everthing. All the hotel staff knew her and she had an excellent relationship with them which made things go even smoother. I would definitly recommend her to anyone planning a wedding without any hesitations, or needing rentals . Great service, personal touch, responsible, and very reasonable prices. I have known Linda for years and have been extremely pleased with her professional services and wonderful staff. She has assisted me with my engagement party, wedding, baby shower, baptism, birthdays... and the list goes on. When it's time to celebrate, I just pick up the phone and call her without having a second thought. She is extremely responsible, a total clean freak, very compelled towards her promises, extremely organized, beset with beautiful ideas, willing to work around your budget and last but not least a sweetheart with a fantastic personality, something that a lot of people in her profession are short of.
