My girlfriend and her family are currently out of the country because their grandmother passed away this past Friday. The entire family had to leave suddenly, which meant her nephew, who was graduating today, and his 21 year old sister stayed behind alone. To make things even more emotional, their mother passed away from cancer three years ago. I volunteered to take him to his graduation so he would still have someone there supporting him on such an important day. When I arrived at Archibald Flowers, they were extremely busy because of graduation season. I gave them my friend's name, but they initially could not find the order. Eventually they located it and brought out a beautiful white lei. I placed it in the car, and just as I was about to leave, one of the employees came outside and explained they had accidentally given me the wrong one and that my friend had actually ordered the Bombay lei. I opened the trunk, and the employee kindly told me I could choose whichever one I preferred. I asked if there was a price difference, and at that moment, who I believe was the owner came outside. I told her I simply wanted whichever lei had originally been ordered. She then smiled and said, "You know what, for the confusion, just take both." I was honestly taken aback. I asked if she was sure, and she said yes. I thanked her deeply. What she did not know is how much this meant to this young man and his family during such a difficult and emotional time. When I later called my girlfriend to tell her what happened, she became emotional and said, "I think that was my sister sending a gift," referring to her late sister. To the beautiful salt and pepper haired woman who helped us today, thank you for your generosity and kindness. You may never fully know how meaningful your gesture was for this family. In a world where people are often rushed and distracted, your compassion stood out in such a powerful way. We will absolutely continue purchasing flowers from Archibald Flowers. I asked the person at the front if she can create a bouquet for me and I told her my budget. She put together 6 roses and two stems of lilies. The flowers were beautiful (although the selection was very limited- could be a seasonal thing). Overall, I'm happy with the service and the flowers! My friend loved them as well!

Each year we celebrate with Hickory Farms it's one tradition that we kept sharing from our childhood. We had to really look this year for the Hickory Farms basket. This year it got nails all the way from California . The box was all wrapped and done up well . That particular taste once a year is something that takes an individual back to when the family was all together. Now days it's family, but in many different ways and celebrations. The Hickory Farms basket arrived when it was supposed to have come. We had it by Christmas for all the celebrations to take place.
