A few things that lead to my 5 star review. One, I came in asking for a sports manicure- no color- and they were a little confused but noticed I was shy/embarrassed and supported my request. Two, you could just tell how well the place is managed- from the looks of the establishment to the professionalism of the employees, having phone holders at each manicure station so customers can continue scrolling on their phones, to greeting the costumers by first name. Three, I came in as a walk in but I will definitely be making an appointment next time, I didn't have to wait at all but this place was obviously well respected in that aspect. In addition there were 3 men all getting their toes freshened up throughout my short time in there... that's more than I've ever seen in my life inside of a salon. I have been coming to Destiny Nails since before it officially changed its name from I Love Nails. I ask for Judy every time I get a pedi, and several months ago, she asked if I'd also like to have a mani. I've always been happy with the decision. Judy is wonderful. I have problems with my feet and toenails and Judy is very caring, pays great attention to detail, and asks me about myself. The nail technicians at Destiny Nails do a more thorough job than the nail salon I had gone to previously. They apply two coats of color in addition to several base and top coats. They give a leg and foot, or hand and arm massage, and apply hot towels. All of it makes the client feel very special! Worst nail salon ever. Below I list out my bad experiences 1. It took me 3 hours to do my regular pedi and gel mani！The man doing the job is super slow, not because he is super detail, it is just he is not that good! 2. After a week, my gel manicure started lifting, see picture 3. The man was being so slow on his work, he still takes personal calls while doing my nails, and he barely speaks English, he almost put the wrong color and when I told him this is not he color I picked, he looks so confused, I have to repeat serval times and talk to other girls working there for help 4. They only accept cash for tips! Hurt me, damaged my toenail which will take a long time to grow back and thwn denied it, saying it was a different toe she hurt. She took a damn chunk of my nail down by my cuticle on toenail, claiming I had a second nail growing under it. She better pray it doesn't get infected or see you in court. Well i called to make an appointment they want to tell me they always busy and for the summer she can't do my nails I laughed I was going there when Nancy was the owner over 10 years since she sold it to the cousins now it's been no good. Every time I won't to do my nails it a problem because I speak out when I don't like something and they can't deal with the truth. They do your nails the way they want. I really like this Nail Salon. I came for the first time last week for a gel manicure/spa pedicure combo. The prices are better than the place I used to go to. It's been a week and my shellac is still going strong and my nails are still looking great! So not happy with my experience here. The people were friendly enough, but I got an acrylic refill with gel polish and my nails are so crooked and uneven, and just not done well. I asked to make a few changes as i noticed the issues with my nails but the woman did not seem to rlly understand what i was asking for maybe? As someone who always gets their nails done and was just looking for a new spot, I'm super unhappy with my nails. Had to come home and file them myself!! I love this place! I went here for the first time 2 weeks ago for a full set, pedicure, eyebrow, and lip wax. 2 weeks later my full set still looks great and I probably won't need a fill for another week. They are very clean and so so nice! The woman who did my pedicure did great and then while I was waiting for another technician to do my nails she gave me the best back massage ever! It pains me to write this review because I actually LOVE Tom's work and think he's an excellent nail tech. Hell I drive all the way from Boston to see him! However, what happened today was the last straw for me. I made an appointment with Tom for a refill at 6p on Saturday...I arrived at 6:07, after driving almost 30 mins from Boston for them to tell me that Tom had left due to a family emergency...sorry to say but I was skeptical about that explanation because when I spoke to him and made the appointment he informed me he would be on vacation the following week so 6p was the last appointment he had before he left. When I called they said he had literally just left and he was leaving for his vacation that night. I can deal with occasionally showing up for a scheduled appointment and having to wait a few mins for you to finish another customer...IJS time management is everything ...but I will not be treated as though my time (and gas) don't matter! He has my phone number and could have easily asked one of his coworkers to call me and lmk, especially after I called to confirm the time of my appointment an hour before and she said, "Yes, see you soon!" WTF?! This is not good customer service...I repeat...this is not good customer service!!! SO disappointed! read more

I always come here and get a great pedicure and today was honestly awful. The lady who did my nails did not understand that I wanted warm water my water was almost cold, not warm and she kept adding cold water in. Then she cut my big toe and then tries to get the excess skin off and it hurt and I told her to leave it alone and she tried one more time and I told her Just to leave it, it hurts also when putting on the polish she didn't notice but she was digging her nail into that cut. Also my toes look like they were not professionally done... the slight massage was also okay and then when she was touching it up she put alcohol on the cut which even hurt more. I went there two or three times in total. The experience were all okay until the most recent visit. I made an appointment at 2:00 for a Saturday afternoon visit. The woman who picked up the call originally asked me to go at 2:30 and I said that it was too late for me so they said that I could come at 2pm. However, when I got there, the place was full of customers. I picked my color and waited patiently. Two minutes later, another customer came in and also said that she had an appointment at 2pm. She was also asked to wait. We waited there until 2:30pm. The entire time, no one came and asked us what services we wanted or informed us how much longer we need to wait. Finally, this technician came and asked us what we wanted to do. The lady who came after me told the technician that she needs to get her nail and toes done and her appointment was at 2pm. Then I said my appointment was also at 2pm and the whole store knew that the lady came after me. The technician took the lady first instead of me. I'm not sure it's because she is white and I'm asian or what not. I was very very mad! Firstly, they tricked me to go and let me wait for half an hour. If they told me that 2pm appointment didn't work for me, I would not go since I had a tight schedule that day. Secondly, they took someone who came after me even though we both had a 2pm appointment!! I feel treated unfairly and I will absolutely never go back EVER. read more

As a first timer, this place really outdid my expectations. The young woman who painted my hands did amazing. She did the shape exactly how I wanted, without me even having to say much. All the ladies/gentleman were friendly. The only reason I wouldn't give them 5 stars is because the lady who did my feet didn't really do a square shape like I asked. I don't like when the edges are rounded. But she did stay late even after they closed (on a Sunday‼) to fix the spot that I messed up, so I did appreciate that. If I could give this nail salon 10 starts I would. This place is THE BEST!!!!! Every person working there is polite, sweet, and ALWAYS goes above and beyond each and every time. I don't get my nails done on a weekly basis (but by going here I don't need to...they last 2 weeks!)...but sometimes I wait way too long and they can look pretty scary (think Dumb and Dumber movie manicure scene); but when I leave they always look amazing! They even fixed a nail that kept cracking with making a make-shift 'fake' nail until it healed...it worked! The massages are awesome and the price for what you get is so affordable. I've been everywhere in Boston; and this group has it right. They do take their time, so make sure you set aside an hour just in case... you will be glad you did.
