I just walked in to get my nails done because a piece of the color from my manicure, which I had done about a week ago at Blue Ocean, had come off. The nail technician who took care of me was a middle-aged man. He stared at me several times and showed an upset expression when the machine accidentally touched me, which made me feel very uncomfortable. It was an awful experience, and I really wanted to request another nail technician. This was my fourth time going there, and every time they charged me a different price. This time I got builder gel and cat eye nails, and they charged me $83, which was much more expensive than I expected. Because of this experience, I don't think I will go there anymore. read more

I've been hear a handful of times and I want to love it but I need to give it a solid 3 star. A star is taken away because even if you schedule an appt. don't expect to start at that time. There is still a wait, why? I have no clue. I have my selected technicians that I like to go to because they are top notch. When they are booked it's best I run for the hills because the recent work I got done was very subpar. I requested the hybrid gel and I notice the way this nail tech dolloped the builder gel on my nail that the end result was about to be all types of wild. As a matter of fact it was, I wanted to do a square shape and it was not it, the nail was thick and I prefer something to look as natural as possible. If I wanted a acrylic, I would have asked. So, After getting her hair done in Malden, we looked up the best nail salons in the area, and this place came up with good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. Nancy did a wonderful job on my daughter's pedicure. However, when it was time for the manicure, the experience went downhill. A man started her manicure, but he rushed through it because they had overbooked, leaving my daughter to accommodate another client. The receptionist then took over my daughter's nails, but she seemed irritated, frequently getting up to take photos and videos of another nail tech. When I asked what was going on, no one explained--they just left us to guess. I politely asked the receptionist to file and shape the nails better because they looked thick and messy at the tips. She ignored my requests and dismissed my concerns, saying she couldn't do any more without risking the nails breaking. In the end, the manicure looked terrible. I was shocked at the low-quality work, and the receptionist's attitude didn't help. She charged us $218 for a kid's gel pedicure, an adult pedicure, and a kid's acrylic manicure--$95 for my 9yo manicure alone, which were uneven and bulky, with glue traces on top when this lady was putting on nail charms. If you're going to charge absurd prices at least don't do a subpar job!!! Absolute nonsense. The prices listed on the site are much lower than what we were charged. It's disappointing, especially since my daughter was so excited for this treat. The receptionist was unprofessional and rude when I tried to address the issue. She even suggested we should have gone to our regular salon --which we absolutely will. I suspect the reviews are paid because otherwise the service we received is nothing like their online reviews!!! This was supposed to be a memorable birthday treat for my daughter, but the experience was anything but. I truly hope they improve their service and pricing transparency for other customers." I've gotten my nails done there 4 times already and people are always complimenting them!! I always leave happy. Just don't get any of the guy nail technicians, they're always rushing. I will say, the professionalism isn't amazing, you have to book online but they always start later than I booked for. I usually have to wait 15 mins, which isn't so bad. You also aren't guaranteed the nail technician you requested. The vibe is alright, most technicians aren't too chatty, which is fine for me since I'm introverted anyways. 4/5 stars. read more

Coming back with an update. After 6 days my right thumb nail started lifting so I added some crazy glue to hold it down and now it's cracking. After 9 days, my right pinky nail bed is completely lifting. This usually happens when the nail wasn't buffed properly and there was oil on my nail when the liquid gel was applied. This is why I say it's so hard to find someone who does liquid gel nails that last and don't break. FYI, I haven't done any heavy lifting or activity that would cause this to happen. read more

My boyfriend surprised me with an appointment on 2/13 for 5 PM. We showed up at 5 and she asked me what type of nails I was getting. I said acrylic. She told me to sit and wait. I was waiting and it was getting extremely busy to the point where the front entrance was packed. An hour had passed and still no one was servicing me. The owner was finishing up a girls nails. I asked her how much longer I'd have to wait, she said 10 minutes and that she would do mine next. After she finished the girls nails she was started on someone else's nails... She proceeds to ask me if I'd wait for another worker to do my nails but he was already busy working on someone else's nails. At this point I'd been waiting an hour and 15 minutes, and then she tried blaming it on my bf saying he said manicure on the phone. My BF said acrylic, and when I checked in I made it clear I wanted acrylic. Regardless, I have an appointment at 5 pm you should make sure someone is available to take it. I'm absolutely disgusted with the owners behavior. She not only blamed my bf, lied to my face, but also wasted over an hour of my time and was going to continue to make me wait if I hadn't walked out. As a business if you make appointments you should honor them, and if you know you aren't able to do my nails within the next hour why did you not say something sooner? Why waste my time? The man was the sweetest and made sure each toe was perfect. 1st pedicure that asked me for shapes etc and didnt just go into cutting nails off. I was asked by Kelly what id like to drink. They had alcoholic options as well as juices and water. Cute flutes to set the mood.Next I got a gel fullset/overlays with Quoc. My nail shape is exactly what i wanted. My design had to be altered as it wasnt realistic. Let him do whatever as long as it was plant themed. Absolutely knocked it out the park. Ended with a eyebrow wax and tint from Kelly. Cindy is a magician and always shows out when it comes to my nails, she does amazing free hand designs. I don't even pick polish anymore I let her just go crazy on my nails and know that they are going to come out stellar EVERYTIME! I've been a frequent customer, constantly trying to overlook their unprofessionalism, but this was the final straw. After waiting over two hours, the nail technician claimed my nails needed a new set because they were lifting and of course I agreed. But instead of soaking them off, she ripped them off, leaving my nails raw and red. When I refused a new set due to the damage, she still left acrylic on three of my fingers and blamed it on my nails being weak. Kelly is consistently behind schedule-last year on my birthday, I waited over two hours, which derailed my entire evening plans. Coincidentally, its my birthday again, and they pulled the same stunt. This level of carelessness and disregard for customers' time is unacceptable. Would not recommend. read more

I go to Blue Ocean Nails for everything. My eyebrow waxing, my pedicure, I love the volcano pedicure. It is so relaxing, and the massage really hits home. i go for a fills and my nails always look natural. The technicians really take the time doing the nails. They do outstanding designs. You can show them a picture or do as I do and leave it up to them. Sometimes I pick a color, most times I leave it up to them as well. This is what they designed. I really love the design. They have a wide range of techniques that they use when doing a design. They always have new colors coming in. The waxing is always great my eyebrows and lip have never looked better. As I entered, I was greeted right away. Their customers were even welcoming as they were waiting/getting their nails done. They made me feel a little more at ease since this was my first time here. This has been the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. It started off great. Everyone is very polite. I will say that. At the beginning when they want you to do their services this is my second time at this nail salon. The first time I got gel and a day, one of them broke. I came back the next day waited two hours to be able to see the same technician. Day three comes along and two more nails break the gel x that they use is cheap and the glue. On Monday, June 17, I came in and spoke to the manager Kelly and told her that I was really upset and showed her the quality of the work and the three broken nails that I had by this time. She was super apologetic and said to come back, she would be more than happy to fix it. I told her that unfortunately the next day I would be available was June 19, 2024. She told me it was fine . I show up at 12pm and Kelly wasnt in the bussiness at that time, so i waited & @ 12:30pm Kelly showed up TOLD ME I STILL HAD TO WAIT. 2pm rolls around and I finally get sat down at a chair where the manager herself took off the previous nails bouncing back-and-forth between customers so I told her that I would be more than willing to wait for a tech that could sit with me and not have to stop working in between the services because I like good quality work. She apologized again and said OK. I waited another hour. At 3:30 I was able to get my nails redone. This time I went with a dip. At checkout, I was charged full price and more than the previous service I was told because of the powder that it was more expensive. I said that it was fine that I didn't mind and I paid for it the next day again 24 hours three nails are cracked and i reached out to the salon explained my frustration and just not good experience overall from the very beginning that at this point, an apology would not fix it and that I paid full price & that something needed to be done, she asked me to send her pictures of my nails, which I did from a plane because I was on a business trip. I explained to her that I couldn't come in until Saturday when I got back she said that it was totally fine no problem. Saturday June 22 comes and I show up at 10am they are packed, again I ask for Kelly. She tells me I have to wait again and couldn't tell me how long. So I explained to that this was no fear to me that this is not how you treat a client who is paying a lot of money for the services and I give a really good tip on top of that. She kept cutting me off and telling me that she was busy that she would try to help me out as much as she could, I told you you know what you can take the nails off and give me my money back. She said that they didn't get refunds. So I told her OK. You know what I'll come back tomorrow Sunday, June 23. I show up @ 9am and it's now at 11am and I'm still waiting for her to finish me. She is all over the pace just trying to make sure that nobody walks out of the door because it's money which I understand that but you have to give good service especially when you're not giving discounts for bad services rather it's the quality of the product or it's your nail text in the moment when they want your money they're super nice but when you come back and you complain and you show proof They ignore you and they expect you to wait and be patient which is not fair to me. read more

I came here as a walk-in on a busy Tuesday evening to get a facial, manicure and pedicure. When I walked into Blue Ocean Nails Bar I was immediately greeted and asked what services I wanted. First I got a pedicure, which I sat in one of the massage chairs, which was amazing. The pedicure was amazing and they did a bunch of different things to my feet. I thoight it was a really great pedicure and great for the service you receive. After I finished getting a pedicure, I got a basic manicure. Nothing extravagant, hence the service title including 'basic,' but she did a good job. Lastly, I got a facial, which started with steam, constant massage to the face, and cream, and warm towel to dry face. It was truly an incredible experience, and felt better than I came in.
