We were visiting Biloxi for a few days. We are so thankful we went to Desportes Seafood. Frank was very knowledgeable and friendly. Explained everything to us and was not in a rush to send us out the door. We happened to be there during Mardi Gras festivities. Desportes was closed on Fat Tuesday. Monday, Frank assured us that he could pack our cooler for our trip back home to New York State. We bought shrimp, flounder, and oysters. The oysters came after the shop closed. Frank and his cousin waited for us to come back after our Shrimp Boat Tour to load the very heavy cooler into our car. We were very grateful to see them waiting for us The seafood arrived home in pristine shape. Not frozen but perfectly cooled. Four days after Frank and his cousin loaded the cooler into our car we were having seafood boil with our family. The oyster eaters raved about how fresh and tasty they were. Us shrimp eaters ate the tenderest, tastiest shrimp. None of it would have been possible without Frank's knowledge and friendliness. We enjoyed Frank and we enjoyed seafood from Desportes Seafood. We will go there whenever we are in Biloxi. read more

Always great service and eager to answer all your questions. They carry a lot of local fresh caught seafood. This location also has a diner which I have not visited, but the food smells fantastic. They sell a large variety of condiments to match your fresh seafood purchase. They also feature crafts from local artists for purchase. April 2025 The food I had was gross. Soft shell crabs were scorched and bland. Fries were oil logged and flimsy, not golden brown and crispy. I still tasted one and it was nasty. Gumbo didn't taste fresh, it tasted bland and old. Gumbo had no meat and whatever was in there was mushy. Etouffee looked pukey, tasted old and was mushy too although it was loaded with crawfish tails that were mushy didn't taste fresh either. Those horrible tasting scorched fried balls. The worst Arnold Palmer ever. Fried fish was disappointing. It was bland and fried hard. The fish market part smelled really fishy. The area needs organizing and cleaning. Looked scuzzy. The tables were sticky and the seats were crummy. The men working there were welcoming and friendly. But... The women sucked! Resting bitch faces on all of them. They looked like they did not want to be there. They were not friendly, no smiles and unpleasant. This place has the potential to make up to 3k-7k a day being a small restaurant/seafood market; If the food was better and by replacing the women with happy energy. Whoever owns this restaurant needs to do better. Probably an ego driven person with their head in the clouds. The best thing about this restaurant was the Gumbo Cookbook! To bad the cook doesn't use it. She is definitely not a chef. Her cooking is bad. This food is for drunks with the munchies because they don't care about food taste or quality. I have purchased boiled crabs here many times. This latest dozen were picked up by my friend. I would have refused if I had seen them. These are the worst batch I have ever seen . They are all dark, have no claws, must have fell off when cooking, and not added back, and bad mushy meat. This is truly sad, as this is not quality seafood and at 26$ a dozen is ridiculous. I sat down waiting on my sister and the table was sticky. I've been here for 10 minutes and nobody has come to me offering their services. I don't know if I have to go to the counter or what. After arriving 15 minutes a lady came and asked me if there was anything I needed. When my sister got here she knew we had to go to the counter and order. After ordering it only took a few minutes to get our food. I got a shrimp poboy and my sister got a grilled shrimp salad. The poboy was ok it was filling. The shrimp salad was fantastic she said and very flavorful. When we left we walked past the team and they didn't say anything to us. They need to learn to thank people because I thanked them. Came to buy raw shrimp and oysters. Seems like a good place to sit and eat a meal at the cafe. If you want to buy fresh seafood at a fish market, you might be better served going elsewhere. Selection was small, but seemed OK. However, I was not able to buy anything because employees would not acknowledge me standing there waiting. Despite moving a bit to ensure they saw me, I did not get any service. There was no line, no one else waiting. I left, went a couple of blocks down the street and found a wonderful place with big selection and spot on service. The seafood might be good, but that's a non starter if I can't buy it. read more

Great food, great hospitality. My bf and I came into town for a weekend trip and met Sean the owner and he invited us to swing by the restaurant and try the food out. He was very sweet and welcoming. I would definitely tell anyone to stop by and give them a try. The meal wasn't expensive for two people and it reminded me of back home with the fresh seafood and the fresh market included. If we lived closer we would've took some fish back to SC. Make sure you visit and show love. read more

Great fresh seafood here with lots of choices. They even get fresh soft shell crabs in season, as well as live crawfish. The fish and shrimp look like they are right off the boat. They also have items like pickled quail eggs, which I love. Lots of breadings and sauces to accompany the seafood, too. Nice, helpful people and we make it a point to stop here when returning from Texas. Like the Terminator, I'll be back. read more

I am so disappointed. We live in Houston and cannot get gulf coast royal reds so when we are in Mississippi we get them as much as possible. They are so sweet, lobster like! We found some at TBT seafood and butcher shop in Pass Christian. We went to Desporte and yes, very friendly staff. I asked about the Royal reds- they filled a cooler with ice, packed up 4lbs! Got home and got ready to grill and we found 4lbs of Argentine reds- not the gulf coast Royal Reds ( which are SO unique). My fault for trusting. I even read about how some restaurants pass off the Argentine reds as Royal reds. And what a shame it is that anyone would do that. They are different. I can get Argentine reds here. I was looking forward to visiting Desportes and getting some great fish. I wasn't disappointed at all with the variety or freshness of the fish. I did have difficulty, however, with the way in which I was treated by one of the staff behind the counter. I asked questions about how to eat the crab that looked so appealing. I was made to feel stupid that I didn't know how to open the crab or where to get the meat from. I was told that if I didn't know how to get the crab apart she wasn't sure she would be able to show me, insinuating that I might not be able to understand. I felt as though I had to apologize for not being more educated in this! The attitude that staff member had was embarrassing me and completely unprofessional. I was so unprepared for unfriendliness and disrespect, after paying for my purchases I had to walk out of the store to compose myself. I felt berated and stupid. I had assistance in taking my purchase to the car by another employee, and I wanted to say something but was too embarrassed. I will likely return to the store when in Biloxi, but will try to make sure I'm not waited on by this woman. read more

We have eaten there several times and thoroughly enjoyed it. I especially like the roast beef poboy dippin in the au jus. My hubs really enjoys the fried oyster po boy. And, the Gumbo is the best!!!! Horrible customer service given by the Chef. I requested hot, boiled shrimp but instead I was offered cold shrimp that was cooked earlier during the day.
