I'm disappointed with the manicure received. It seemed the nail specialist was overbooked and in a rush. At one time while filing my thumbnail, she was actually filing the skin. The nail beds have scratches from the woman using the wrong side of the buffer tool. The nail polish was applied unevenly and was sloppy at the edges of the nail bed. My nails looked exactly how they do when I paint my nails. Poor customer service and poor skills. I won't return. read more

I went here to get a fill and was told to wait 10 minutes and they would be with me. I ended up waiting there 45 minuted before I just walked out. There were employees that had finished other customers and were just standing around. Didnt really seem like they cared. I live twenty minutes from this shop. Three times in a row I have arrived for my appointment and been told that one of the their technicians hadn't arrived and to come back the next day. I have given up. Don't bother and don't count on your appointment being honored. read more

I went with a friend today and had our nails done. We were not impressed at all. For myself, she never did clean under my nails, and there was a little hair or lint on one nail when she had painted one coat so I said something to her. She looked at it and nodded and just put another coat over it. It left a ridge. She did not paint them to the edges but down the middle leaving an undone edge. I again said something and she nodded and ignored it. Instead of any air dryer for the nails, they have the light that "hardens" them. No it doesn't. We sat there for about 15 minutes and finally one gal looked over at us and said you should be done now. You can go. (within a half hour two nails were ruined) And to top it all off, their crude language when joking with each other was not appropriate. This place has horrible service, they rush you out the door. FYI when they speak in their language they're talking about you. I was in with my gf getting pedicures and I am fluent in Vietnamese. They said her feet were really bad, the manager kept telling them to hurry up and that we were cheap for not wanting extra service. Never ever will I come back. read more

One star is too generous. I arrived on time for my appointment to find the nail technician had brought his 18-month (or so) old daughter with him to work. He instructed me to choose a color while he got her settled into a massage chair. Before he could actually start removing my gel polish she began fussing and taking off her shoes. He went back to help her. He then got me settled in a chair before having to rise to answer the phone. He returned only to get up again when she climbed out of the massage chair to demand he work on her fingernails. He distracted her by having her go choose nail polish colors. He filed off the top layer of gel on one hand before leaving again to answer the phone. He returned and filed the other before leaving again to calm her by finding her a cartoon to watch on the television. He got both of my hands wrapped before noticing the poor girl had opened the bottle of nail polish onto herself and stopped working on my nails to clean her up and remove the polish from her hands. He returned and started trimming nails on one hand before she slipped from her chair and began pulling on his shirt and crying and screaming for his attention. He started to raise his voice to her, repeating, "Daddy is working, Daddy is working." I could not take it anymore. I had scheduled a mani/pedi - hours of treatment. Would this go on the entire time? Does the gentleman really think his customers schedule self-care so we can listen to cartoons, his upset child, and his admonishment of her? Does he believe and 18-month old child understands he is at work and will just adjust to his timeline. I am hopeful this was a fluke and that perhaps childcare fell through. Even if this was the case, perhaps he could have acknowledged the situation and discomfort he was putting his customer through. He should have given me the choice as to whether to spend my "me" time with children's cartoons, interruptions, and his appropriately frustrated child. As an aside, the place was filthy and he did not even put down a clean towel before starting to work with me. I would never recommend this salon. read more

No stars for this place... went there several times. Started out ok so went back. Service declined with each visit until the last time when the massage was so hard that I ended up with horrible bruising over one third of my right foot. The employee obviously knew very little about the anatomy of the foot and applied extreme pressure over bone. I would think that information would be required for licensing. Don't put your foot health at risk by patronizing this place. read more

Was planning on taking my mother here for her surprise birthday gift today but when I asked a simple question upon walking into this business I was practically shouted at and was treated poorly by a lady working there. I walked out immediately! Let alone was I gonna let my mother get her nails done here by someone who treats customers poorly, so we went elsewhere and was treated 1000x better. NOT happy at ALL!!!! Went and had a pedicure for my trip to Mexico... The next day polish came off and so did the rhinestones.... I was gone on my trip and couldnt go in to have them fix it. When I returned home I called and spoke to the owner to which replied I should have came in to have them fix it, "I was in Mexico" Sorry nothing I can do for you! Well Guess what I do for you???? I have been coming here for the last couple of years until today I am never going back!!! I'm so mad at the horrible job they did!! I got my nails done there about a week ago and by the 4th day I had them done the tips kept breaking off on about 6 of my fingers and did I mention these were solar nails that should last me about 3-4 weeks! So I went back for them to fix them they did it in 5 minutes and the ending results were terrible!! I might as well have done them myself!! And she blamed me because of their mistakes!!! read more

First time I went I had gotten a full set of acrylics they turned out pretty nice but the man has cut my finder open with the filing tool. Came back a year later to get a new set and the lady was rushing through. Nails turned out slanted, uneven, different lengths, and the polish started chipping the next day. I just spent a couple hours on a Friday morning in Keizer trying to get a mani/pedi for both my mom and I without an appointment and we called and drove to many nail salons. We really got some insight into how they take walk-ins but also have appointments, which can be difficult because so many show up late or not at all so it's a juggling act for them and in all these nail salon reviews a bunch of places are getting dinged stars simply because of appointment and walk in issues. Anyways moving on we finally came to Designer nails and after a little wait we were seen for Pedis. First off this shop is big, airy, bright, and clean. The chairs have the remote with tons of massage fun and the foot bath part is pearlescent which I loved. They have three different levels of Pedis each one offering tidbits of joy as price gets higher up to 40 dollars so we picked middle one. I'm fairly certain I got the whole shabang however cuz hands-down best Pedi ever! She put the work in for clipping and scrubbing off calluses. She oiled and massaged my legs up to my knees then sugar scrubbed then put clay on them and wrapped them in hot towels while she did my toe nail art. Just melted in the chair which was kneading and vibrating my back while she rubbed my legs and feet and when I was done I was very happy. My feet feel soft again when I lotion them cuz she removed the calluses. The nail art flower was really cute that she added. Just really great and I appreciated being seen short notice on a Friday and having the world's best Pedi was great! read more

Worst nail place I've ever been to. Believe the 3 star rating. Made an appt for my sister and her bridal party the day before her wedding. They asked us to come in at 9:30, even though they open at 9. We got there at 9:30 and the shop was closed. We stood outside for a few minutes a finally one woman showed up to let us in. All six of us sat with our feet in cold water in the pedicure chairs while she began working on one person at a time. Mind you, I told them ahead of time that 6 of us were coming for mani/pedis that morning. At around 10 AM, other workers started trickling in, and we finally got moving. But it didn't get much better. Their gel nail colors are few, and not the cutest. The salon is dirty and outdated. My sister requested the color she needed for her wedding day and the woman said they ran out, until we urged her to double check and she magically found it somewhere else. A few more of us had to pick new colors as well, because they were "out". At this point, I was ready to leave and never ever come back. A group of three came in without a reservation and asked for pedis, and two of the technicians sat them down and began working on their feet before one of my sisters was even offered a chair for her manicure (she was sitting alone on her pedi chair waiting for someone to help her). When I asked for someone to finish my sister's nails before they started with a new customer, she ignored me and kept working. We FINALLY got finished up 2.5 hours later and as we were walking out the door, the nail lady checked my sister's nails with her thumb and ruined them, so she had to redo them on the spot. I ran so fast out of that place my nails dried even faster than normal. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR NAILS DONE WELL. read more

i was told by a friend to try this place that they go there. I normally go to a different nail salon in keizer off River Rd. So i made an appointment at this one, they got me in on time as it wasn't busy which should have told me something. the gal handed me a menu of services. I told her the Regular pedicure...she kept telling me the upgraded ones where better. The top one was more than i planned, the next one up from the reg. was for callus removal (which i don't have any) and a mineral towel wrap. I asked her the benefit of the wrap and had to ask several times and i don't think she knew as i didn't get a good answer. I stuck with the regular and she didn't take no for an answer as she kept trying to up sell. Once i made it clear i only wanted the reg. pedi then she asked me about a manicure. i said no. She then sped thru my manicure like it was nothing and the massage was horrible. she was too busy talking to her co-worker and not paying attention so it was not very relaxing and was short. She was all done within 1/2 hour with painted toes and all. At least the other place gives a good massage and gives you what you want without pressure and a 45 min experience. read more

Oh my goodness. I am waiting to get an infection from a "manicure" I received at this place yesterday. I wanted a natural nail manicure, this in case you're unclear, means a soak for my hands, massage,then gentle shaping and a polish. When I sat down the man brought me a bowl of cold water, it may have been slightly warm when he filled the bowl, but it was cold when he took the 8 steps it took to get to my chair. Then he dabbed a $2 bottle of lotion of my fingers. It smelled like it was supposed to me scented like a cocktail but it smelled awful. Then, after I had asked him not to, he began clipping my cuticles. At this point, trying to see the positive in the situation (considering I waited an hour to have this "manicure" done.) he began the massage. This was the only part of the massage that was remotely enjoyable. He finished up this and asked me simply "Red or white tips?" I said, "not red" assuming he was going to show me the other colors. Nope, and he began painting white tips... Again wanting to see this as relaxing... because I wanted my nails done and assuming there was a positive end to this adventure... he asked me to hold my hands up to the desk light at his station... I assumed that this was to check to see if there were any imperfections. Instead, he checked his phone... and turned to start watching poker on TV. What the...? I waited a minute to see if he was going to take me to the UNOCCUPIED dry station... nope. I got up and walked to the register. He acted like this was a normal experience. I've heard a few complaints about this place. Now I know, they are HORRIBLE. For this nightmare I was charged $17... If he had not been lazy and have gone OUT of his way to make this a bad experience for me, I would have given him a $8 tip. If this was relaxing... I'd have been more than happy. read more

I have been going to Designer Nails for years and each visit keeps getting worse. Staff is rude, inattentive and they are never on-time with their appointments. Staff often have their children roaming around the store, so not a relaxing experience. Will NOT be going back. read more

I went here with my mother and grandmother we all got our toes and nails done. All the lady did with my pedicure was paint my toes and rub lotion on my feet and legs for about 5 mins. My grandmother got the same treatment as I but the used the file on her heels. My mother got the whole home yards but a bad paint job. When I went for my nails they kept telling me to get something else finally annoyed with her I said okay I got shalack(sp) they said it would last 3-4 weeks it barley lasted 3 days. It started to peel off. I'm very unhappy with this place. And every other customer that came in they asked them to come back later. I will not go back and tell my friends not to go. read more

I used to go here all the. It became very hard to get an appointment and when I had one, they were always behind and always helped people who just walked in before the people who had an appointment. They started to hurt my fingers with the drill and my nails were always lopsided. My sister went here too and last time she went she had an appointment and she had called to see if she could come in a little earlier and they said yes. So she went in and when she got there they said they don't have time for her. She can come back at 1 or the next day. My sister got so mad because she was told she could come in. This place used to be quite organized but lately every time I get an appointment I"m left waiting at least 15 minutes. Last time I had a 2 pm appointment for a pedicure, got there at 2:05 and no one was available. At 2:15 I asked and was told I could come back in a half hour. I just said I'd wait. Then when I finally got a foot bath at 3:15 the nail lady yelled at me not to splash!!! I told her she was being bossy. After a while she suddenly became extra nice to me. Another person came in while I was getting a pedicure, also with an appointment, they took their time taking her as well. Then when she was sat down for her pedicure they tried to do her manicure at the same; when the customer said she wanted to do one at a time and wanted to enjoy the pedicure first, they got upset. I think the people who are giving 5 stars either got lucky by going at a time when there were no customers or maybe are employees? read more

Super rude people. I walked in and asked how much for a mani-pedi, the man quoted me $35 for both. So I pick out my color and wait until they can get me in. I get all settled in finally, feet in the water waiting and the lady comes up to me with a nail kit and informs I have to buy it. I was confused and asked her why, I don't want to buy a nail kit. She insists that I buy it so I can reuse it and bring it with me next time. I explain that I am traveling and have no interest in buying it. Nor do I appreciate being told I HAVE to buy something extra after I was quoted a price for everything. They literally refused to give me a pedicure unless I bought it, so I walked out. They lost $35 over a $4 kit and even had the nerve to complain to me as I walked out that I cost them money by waiting and getting so far as dipping my feet in the tub! She spitefully asked me if I liked getting my feet bathed for free!! All because I didn't want to pay for something that wasn't quoted and is usually included in the price - I've never had a nail shop charge me separately for the disposable kit.
