I had the good fortune to have Dr. Reidy perform a septoplasty, turbinate reduction and maxillary, frontal & sphenoid balloon sinuplasty on me at his office last month. The operation was performed as an outpatient procedure in about 2 hours with local anesthesia after which I went home and followed the post operative care instructions he gave me. I couldn't be happier with the results. I have noticed eventually a 20-25% increase in athletic performance in both strength and endurance, my short term memory has severely improved, I need to sleep 2 hours less each night due to the improvement of my obstructive sleep apnea, my snoring has almost vanished and I lost about 10 pounds of excess weight because of the improvement in my metabolism. It truly is a life changing operation for me because for the first time I can breathe as one is supposed to. Honestly I thought this was a good move and trusted his rec but Reidy referred me to a surgeon to have a procedure done. Still have super rough hearing and now both ears are messed up. This was about 2 years ago. Now after seeing so many negative reviews I don't know if I can go back here. Have yet to have an awesome experience with an ENT in the valley. I would stay away. The doctor couldn't find a growth in my son's ear which I could see with my naked eye. After the visit we realized we paid more than we should have once we got our EOB from the insurance company and it took more than 3 weeks and multiple phone calls to get an answer on the refund. Set an appointment to see the doctor was 30 min early for a plugged-up ear he convinced me to have a procedure that I do not believe was needed. next visit waited over 45 minutes in the waiting room and was taken back to the office and waited an additional 45 minutes until he finally came in Premedicated me with 2 very low dose Valum put some stuff in my nose and started the pain was horrible finely made him stop still have the same plugged ear now both are plugged and he gave me a prescription that didn't work went back a week later and was about 10 minutes late due to traffic and was canceled nothing about the 1 1/2 hr. wait on my last appointment he wants to do a second procedure to me, and I will not, cannot take the pain and don't believe that it is necessary read more

I was referred to Dr. Reidy by my PHP because of a chronic sore throat and pain in my neck. Dr. Reidy examined me, without warning stuck a tube down my nose and into my throat. He determined by this brief 5-minute interaction that I needed surgery to remove my salivary gland. I was concerned and went back to my PCP, and he sent me for a second opinion. This Dr. actually did a thorough exam and determined there was nothing wrong with the gland, it was working as it should. Dr. Riedy's office must have left at least 20 messages for me to schedule surgery, I never answered and did not return the call. I got a bill 1 year later for $259.68 for a 40-minute audio/video visit, for a date I never saw him. They are scammers and committing insurance fraud. I will be reporting this! read more

Dr. James Reidy is a PRICK! He really needs to work on his bedside manner or just retire in general or maybe he needs to get laid. His staff was very nice but he is extremely rude I wouldn't go back to him even if I had one nostril! I took my 19 year old daughter to see him he walked in the room and said to me i need that chair! Then he asked me a question I didn't hear what he said so I asked him to repeat his question so he got smart with me. I laughed and said you're a real peach aren't you? He just kept talking. This review is my opinion and my experience. Do not go here for any hearing issues. My son had some ear pain and hearing issues so I brought him here. The provider we saw was Mr. Reidy. My son's issues were not addressed. He had a hearing test that said nothing was wrong with his hearing. My son continued to try to tell the doctor that he can't swim without ear pain, he has problems hearing and overall ear pain. Well I don't know. Your hearing is fine the doctor told him. Have a good day. I was so disappointed that we were not listened to. Disappointed that he still has these issues and doesn't want to waste time going to see another doctor after his experience here. Also it will take them well more than 6 months to send a bill. And now they are saying my insurance isn't accepted there. Why didn't they say that when I made the appointment or when we showed up for the appointment? Instead here is a bill for 372.82 months later. Save yourself time and headaches and find an ear doctor that will actually listed to their patients. One that cares to partner with their patients to find out what's going on. don't recommend at all, was seen by the doctor for about 5 minutes- told him what was going on and what i was experiencing, seemed like it went in one ear and out the other considering what he told me to go home and do was the exact things i had already been doing. called to see what my other options are and of course had to come in to pay more money so he could actually look at them this time.. felt like a money grab to me. doctor was trying to run out the door the whole time. went to a specialist get a specialists help.. instead wasted money just to be told to do the same things i've been doing. read more

This place is wonderful! The environment is always well kept and clean. The staff are all very kind and friendly. Today I went in to have a routine procedure done, a surgery on my sinus. Dr. James Reidy Knew I was super nervous and walked me through the entire procedure. Due to my own mental health issues I ended up having a massive panic attack. the staff was all super kind understanding and supportive, including Dr. James. I felt safe, heard, and supported by every single staff member there. I would definitely recommend him along with his team. 2 years ago I was referred to this establishment and made multiple visits for my ear pressure pain. I was never seen by a medical Dr but only by a medical assistant with a magnifying glass headband that told me to use a sinus rinse and had me spend thousands of dollars on a CT, allergy testing, all of which were negative. Due to not being a physician she couldn't find anything else to charge me for or a root cause so her last recommendation was to refer me for surgery. Only she could never tell me what that surgery was for or what the root cause or diagnosis was. Clearly a red flag and all my spidey senses screaming "RUN" I did. I never went back. The front desk didn't return calls or made promises to schedule CT scans only to be offended when a follow up call revealed no such scheduling was completed. For a patient in pain and seeking solutions, this is a real heartbreaking experience. I just suffered in silence. Years of pain when flying and crackling in my ear drums and today I decided to see Dr Christian Paquet, MD of Biltmore ENT and in 5 minutes he looked in my ears and told me I have Eustachin Tube Dysfunction which is pretty common and ways to manage it etc. I pray for the poor souls that find themselves with the misfortune of being routed to Desert Valley ENT and would like to encourage them to seek out real professionals who don't need to run around an office in a lab coat and magnifying headbands to create the illusion of intelligence and to establish a false sense of trust and credibility. Imagine inspector gadget! Real professionals that are Doctors and went to school for this and want to help people. You owe it to yourself to put your health in the right hands. I'm cheering you on! I have had issues with my sinus and ears for years. After visiting multiple ENT's, I was referred to Dr Reidy. He listened to me and recommended a CT on my sinuses. After reviewing, I proceeded with surgery in the office. I felt very comfortable during the procedure and was told what was going to happen during the procedure. I would definitely recommend, Dr Reidy's office. Everyone was pleasant and I had no issues. In a short period of time, I felt great! After a few days of severe nose bleeds they were able to get me in the same day I was referred by my primary care doctor. I was treated quickly and given the fact it's only a few days before Christmas I couldn't believe it. I had a much better experience at Trinity ENT I recommend you seek care there instead. here I was very disappointed from day one. Someone had illegally parked their car in front of mine the day of my appointment. I called to explain and Tina offered no empathy and just let me know I may have to reschedule. Then I was seen. each time I called to get scheduled. The scheduler was not available. I called on 2/16 was told she would reach out. Didn't get a call back. Called again on 2/29 and was told she'd reach out. She just got back to me on 3/8 this is unacceptable. Meanwhile I was able to call, get scheduled and seen by another practice. In the time it took to get a simple call back. I try to be understanding but Tina and Theresa seem like they just couldn't be bothered. It seemed like I was a burden to them. I just wanted answers and to be well informed. That may be too much to ask this place. read more

I scheduled an appt here for an ear cleaning as the VA was giving me the run around. I paid 40$ copay and provided insurance info. The doctor very briefly looked in my ears and said there is a healthy amount of wax and no reason to clean. I told him I would still like a cleaning as I wear hearing aids and I know wax can get compacted. He said there was nothing further to do and walked out. The entire appt with the doctor maybe lasted 2-3 minutes. I asked for a refund for my copay as no service was provided and I was told I paid for the consult. I reiterated that I received no info from the consult and this has been a waste of time and money. Avoid this place if you are looking for any decent customer service or care. read more

They will do shit that costs money and won't tell you. At first everything was cool. I came in because I was having trouble breathing out of my right nostril. I had a facial injury 10 years ago and I felt like the hardware had shifted. I got a quick appointment, a quick MRI but it took weeks for them to get back to me after my MRI. I had to call them to follow up. "Oh right, we need to get you in". I come in and a different doctor checks me out, shows me the MRI, tells me my options, then he takes a look with a camera thing up my nose. I told them I wanted the codes for the procedure so I could do my research and find out an estimate of how much it would cost. They never got back to me. AGAIN. A few weeks later they send me a bill for $35 dollars lol OOOOOK. I called them and asked wtf was going on. They said it was for a "procedure". I'm not paying it. Still haven't. Go ahead and send it to collections. Eat shit you dorks. read more

I have never complained about a doctor before, but feel compelled to state that Dr. Reidy not only has a very poor bedside manor but doesn't seem to want to see patients, especially new patients just locating to the state. I have been having issues with my ears being clogged and had just lost one of the tubes when I scheduled the appointment. I had read his reviews and I also asked questions regarding what the doctor would be able to do in office. I was informed that if need be I could get a tube re installed as he had done many in his office. I asked if I should make arrangements to get my previous records from my doctor in Illinois to which I was told there was no need due to the fact that part of the paper work I would need to fill out would care for any previous records being obtained. Nowhere in the questionnaire did they request the previous doctors name or address or phone number, I would assume they would ask that during the examination process. I did sign releases for previous records which was previously explained. The prescreening person came in and asked me some questions which I answered, and I asked her if this was going to be treated as a consultation with the doctor rather than an appointment. She said that would be up to the doctor. She then left only to return to ask me if I had wanted a hearing test to which I told her that I didn't think it would make much difference since the tube in my ear needing replacement would at least help me hear better. The doctor came in and was seemingly not in the greatest of moods, and then began asking questions about other previous treatments that I had received, as I endeavored to explain them the doctor became fixated on the fact that with my sinuses stuffed and very little clear area I would require surgery and since he had no previous records there was little he could do. I had already told him that I had seen a doctor regarding the surgery and had elected to not have it for the time being as we were going to be moving to Arizona. He became more argumentative as the time went on about what he needed regarding my records to which I reminded him that he hadn't even asked for the previous doctors information. I wouldn't recommend this man to do treatments for a dead animal as a result of this experience and hope that others would honestly post their comments as well. read more

This place I had to take my 5 year old to get his hearing checked after he refused to have them checked at school. We had a deadline of less than a week to get this done. We called several places and no luck or they weren't willing to check an autistic child's ears. The receptionist on the phone must have heard the distress in my voice as she guided me through the appointment set up. we made his appointment and they emailed me the new patient paper work. When We arrived we, yes my son too, were greeted with a good morning and a smile. We exchanged all info and say and waited. It was a smooth morning. The best part was there wasn't a mountain of paper work to do!!! We walked back and the next lady entered the room. She was so kind and patient with my son. At one point he wanted to hold my hand, drama king, and we both got a good chuckle out of that. She checked his ears and gave him a candy for being brave. The audiologist was a little more stern but that's a male thing I'm sure but he was still patient. The dr came in and talked to us about the results and checked his ears again. She was incredibly kind, explained what she was doing to my son and high fives all around. I could not imagine this experience being any better and would never go anywhere else! If you need a great ENT, this is your place. I will make sure to tell his schools nurse, along with all my fellow parent friends. The whole experience from making the appointment with CJ who was super sweet and had great customer service which is rare to find in the front office these days to our appointment with Dr. Laura she was fantastic! I had been suffering for months from sinus pain and congestion, and being a mouth breather. I didn't feel that taking Advil and Sudafed for the rest of my life was a healthy solution. After a trip to see Dr. Reidy, he offered a possible solution in a procedure called balloon sinuplasty. I decided to go ahead with the procedure which was performed right in the office which was relatively simple and painless. That did the trick! I have been able to breathe much easier and the congestion has gone away. If you have similar issues, I would recommend talking to Dr. Reidy about balloon sinuplasty as a remedy. read more

I was having issues with one of my years. I called around to several ENT offices prior to calling Desert Valley ENT. All the other offices had no open appointments for weeks. I called Desert Valley on Monday they had me in on Wednesday morning. All the staff members were friendly and helpful. I ended up being seen by the physician assistant Laura. She was awesome! So friendly and down to earth and knew what she was doing. She had my issued diagnosed and resolved in 30 minutes. If I'm ever having ENT issues again I would not hesitate to go here. Dr. Reidy has no bedside manner and treats patients like they're on an assembly line. He didn't listen to my concerns and was very rushed. I waited 20 mins and he rushed in and did a cursory examination and walked out. He was yelling instructions to his MA as he walked out the door. Unfortunately I cannot review the Doctor(s) at this office because, as other reviews make clear, the billing department is utterly INCOMPETENT. My co-pay is $30--my insurance card states that fact on the card itself--yet they demanded that I pay a $50 co-pay. Moreover, they stated that I need to meet my deductible before the insurance company would pay for the appointment. That is false and directly contradicted by my insurance paperwork. They REFUSED to actually call my insurance company to confirm. Needless to say, I walked out of my appointment and will be looking for another ENT in the area. read more

Although I wrote a glowing review for Dr. Reidy several years ago, I feel compelled to post an update. My son and I have seen this doctor several times each over the intervening years since my last review and things have gone OK. However, over the last few visits my 10 year has had with him, Dr. Reidy has become increasingly impatient with my son. Dr. Reidy is aware (from past appointments and the medical forms we fill out in office) that my child is very anxious and has some sensory-related issues. At his last appointment, a couple of weeks ago, Dr. Reidy needed to use the scope to go through my son's nose to check his throat. My son, who was already anxious just being in the office, got more upset when he found out that the doctor was going to put the scope through his nose instead of his mouth this time. Instead of trying to calm my son in ANY way, Dr. Reidy just stood back by the door, audibly sighing and shrugging multiple times, saying, "Well, he's either going to do this or he isn't!" (Let's just say that didn't help my son's anxiety level or mine). My son kept saying how he wanted to cooperate but he was scared. He was not getting out of the chair or flailing or anything of that caliber; he kept taking a breath, putting his head back and trying to prepare himself. Then, he would get scared again. In other words, he was obviously upset but it was also apparent that he really wanted to do what was expected of him. Meanwhile, Dr. Reidy is telling him that other kids, much younger than him, could handle this procedure just fine. (That was not a helpful thing to say, either). My son was finally able to let Dr. Reidy put the scope through his nose and, apparently, was able to get a glimpse of his throat. However, my son pulled the scope out because he was hurting. Of course, he should not have done that! However, I then had my son crying on one side of me so I was trying to comfort him while also telling him he shouldn't have pulled the scope out. Meanwhile, Dr. Reidy launched into a somewhat loud and very verbal upbraiding of both of us saying, "That doesn't hurt like that! After 15 to 20 seconds of the scope being out it doesn't hurt anymore." To paraphrase, he said, "Look how dramatic he is being! Look how he is acting. When he acts like that, the [vocal chord] nodules are just going to come right back again." When my son's crying got a little less pronounced, Dr. Reidy said something like, "See! He's calming down now but as soon as you turn and give him attention he'll probably start right back again! It isn't going to get better until this behavior is better. You have your hands full." (Remember, this is all based on an anxious 10 year old's behavior in a slightly scary situation that even adults often have trouble with). I work in the dental field and often have anxious patients. People (of all ages) who are scared need patience and kindness, not negativity and a mean attitude from their medical provider. My son is an A student in a gifted classroom with all high marks in behavior at school. He was just really scared in this situation and instead of helping reduce the anxiety, Dr. Reidy only managed to make it worse. Dr. Reidy may be knowledgeable in his field and, I will say, he has helped us in the past, but (in my opinion) you should NOT take your child to him if he/she has anxiety or any sensory issues My son was upset after we left because he felt so bad about "how he had done," based on how Dr. Reidy behaved toward him. I don't believe I have every personally witnessed a doctor being so unprofessional. Dr. Reidy would do well to remember that old saying, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care!" read more

Had an 8am appt, was told 3 times by staff to show up at 7:30am to fill out paperwork/ verify insurance info. Showed up at 7:30 with the doors of the building locked and all the lights off. Stayed until 8am and still nobody showed... finally left, tried calling the office with no answer (of course since nobody was in the building), left them a voicemail explaining I had been waiting outside for 30min, and I had to take the morning off from work in order to make this appt. I was very upset and asked them to call back so I could reschedule. I waited ALLL day and they never returned my phone call!! So unprofessional. What a disappointment, especially since I had to wait over a month to see their Physician. read more

Dr. Laura Uhl is very thorough, however I was sent for a VNG test at an outside facility. The test was completed on 11/20. The results have not been received by their office and it is now 1/14 of the next year, which means all deductibles have been reset. I called several times to follow up and still no test results or calls back from the ENT. read more

Very disappointed! The Dr was hurried not making one feel as though he cared! I've been seen on 2 separate occasions and there will not be a third! One would consider him rude! I'm an RN and have dealt with Physicians like him in the hospital setting. Which in turn they have been reported! There is no reason to be speaking to patients that way! I stood up for myself but feel saddened for those who are intimidated by these type of doctors! He did help with my ear I can say that about him, but he is an ENT and that is expected. read more

I took my young daughter for several reasons and Dr. Reidy and his PA were very patient and spent as long as needed answering all my questions. Dr Reidy was very thorough and professional and great with my child. My orthodontist suggested obstructed sleep apnea and Dr. Reidy was highly informative how sleep and oral care are linked. My daughter also had a very detailed hearing test from a specialist within the office. I would recommend the practice. read more

What a joke stay away!!! Very unprofessional. Made an appointment over a month ago. When I get there I'm told that because I'm a new patient that I needed to be there a 1/2 hour before. Never told that when making the appointment. Even when I received the automated call it never said that either. Our experience has been positive. Dr Reidy's office staff has always been friendly and helpful. They have never been rude or uncaring. We have seen several ENT doctors in the past several years and felt that Dr Reidy was the best at listening and getting to the point. Laura N Uhl, his Physician Assistant Specialist has taken time with us at our appointments and is now looking at all of the avenues available to determine why my husband is feeling lightheaded and off balance. She doesn't rush through our office visit and just like Dr Reidy, she is listening to what we have to say and is helping us figure this whole thing out. I cannot believe they are in business. I called to schedule an appt. with them for a consultation. They were going to see me next day but I let them know that I was very busy and would need to be seen within 45 minutes of my appt. time. They then scheduled me for an appt. approximately 1 week later to make sure I would not have to wait. I filled out and sent in all of my new patient paperwork and made arrangements to get them my films. I then followed up a few days later as I had not heard from anyone that they had received the forms and added me to their patient list. I received a call today less than 24 hours before my appt. letting me know that they would not be able to see me on my appt. date as the dr. was going to be running too far behind schedule. So now I am having to start over with another surgeon and will have to continue to suffer with my illness for another week at least. I explained to them that my PCP had encouraged me to get this resolved immediately due to the health problems that I am having. If you are looking for an ENT that is going to look out for you I would suggest you keep on looking. I will be billing them for my time as they did cancel on me with less that 24 hours notice. read more
