16 days after my septoplasty, I experienced a nose bleed that was extremely heavy and would not stop for hours. I immediately called the office of Dr. Rehl, telling the receptionist it was urgent and asking to speak with a medical assistant. She said there is nothing she can do, even after I explained it was urgent. She put me on hold for 15 minutes and hung up. I continued to bleed for hours, coughing and throwing up blood that dripped down my throat. I called again and the receptionist finally agreed to left a message to Dr. Rehl for me and hung up. 10 minutes later, Dr. Rehl's called back and told me to go purchase Afrin to stop the bleeding. As I mentioned, the bleeding was so intense, I looked like a gun shot victim. I was coughing and throwing up blood. I was alone and tried to shower the blood off me before going to the store for Afrin. At this point, the bleeding became more intense and blood clots the size of golf balls were falling out of my nose. I called my sister who upon seeing me drove me to urgent care. At urgent care, they were unable to stop the bleeding. I continued to bleed and throw up so much blood they contacted EMS. I was taken to the ER by ambulance. When I finally got to the ER, they believed my blood vessels in my nose were messed up and they had no idea what Dr Rehl did. Because they weren't familiar with my case, they contacted Dr. Rehl. Apparently, the only way to be taken seriously by him and his receptionist is when the ER doctors call. Dr. Rehl recommended I come to his office to have the vessel cauterized. If Dr. Rehl and his receptionist had taken me seriously at 8:30 am in the morning when I called, I would not be responsible for an urgent care, ambulance, emergency room, and doctors' office bill. The entire experience was so traumatizing. The next day I called to schedule the appointment. The receptionist told me she'd call me back in "10 minutes" once she found an available spot. Instead she never called me. I tried to call his office and they never picked up phone. This office is incredibly unprofessional and I recommend you find literally any other ENT.
